Nice ambiance, but unfortunately, we and two children had to wait an hour and 15 minutes for our food (from the time we ordered). All the other tables were already finished and had paid. No one asked us if it was okay that we had to wait so long. The food was unfortunately not good either. We found a large piece of plastic in the chicken tikka, the schnitzels were more breaded than meat, the fried potatoes left a greenish grease on the plate, and the green sauce was like white mayo with a pinch of herbs. The children were then given pasta in tomato sauce in an adult portion, and when we complained, the person serving them reacted unprofessionally. Later, another employee tried to smooth things over, and a few drinks and the children's meals were on the house. If it had only been the service, we would have overlooked it, but the food was unfortunately not good. A shame.

You should bring a little time with you...

The regional food is okay, but the fries are over-fried and the cheese spaetzle bears little resemblance to the traditional recipe. The Indian food, on the other hand, was good. The waitress and the rest of the team were extremely friendly and accommodating. "Come as a guest, leave as a friend" is a motto that is lived here. The location is quaint and very cozy.

No. A sign at the entrance saying you can't pay by card. So primitive in 2025!!! A new store that has no interest in paying taxes. A disgrace. Next year, 100 percent under new ownership.

Very friendly service. Currently, there's also a large ice cream counter on the street. The courtyard is highly recommended when it's hot, as it's mostly shaded.

I have to honestly say that I didn't really want to go to this restaurant. After reading the menu online, I thought it couldn't be anything "good." Indian and German cuisine... But, and this is why I'm writing this review, the 5 stars are honest, not fake, and truly deserved! I let the waitress persuade me to try an Indian dish – it was a "daily special." Even though I had no clue, I took the plunge and didn't regret it! The butter chicken was super delicious, and so was the bread that came with it. There were four of us there, which is why I can also rate the "schnitzel." It was also really tasty and freshly prepared, probably with homemade fries that were extra wide – not standard. The onions on one schnitzel were apparently really freshly cooked in the pan. I haven't had such a delicious meal in a long time. All in all, it took a while for the food to be served. But it didn't take too long, and we all got our food at the same time. The restaurant was also quite busy that day. We sat outside, and the seating there is really nice. But it looked very cozy inside too! I can also recommend the ice cream; they have a street vendor here. I politely asked the waitress if I could eat it at my table, and it was served to me accordingly. The waitresses were all very nice, and as I said, it was quite busy, but it all went smoothly. The schnitzel even came with a side salad, which is something you don't see these days! I can't understand why some of the reviews here are so bad. After all, it's a "normal" restaurant with home-style cooking—the price/performance ratio is definitely top-notch here. I hope I can come back soon, but unfortunately, we have a bit of a long commute! Please keep up the good work!

Beautiful beer garden. Excellent service. Food was good, but there were a few minor improvements. The rump steak was good, but cooked more raw than medium. Unfortunately, the onions were deep-fried, not pan-fried. Very good fries. The salad dressing was very good, but unfortunately, it had rotten leaves in it. The schnitzel was very good. Good value for money.

We had a delicious steak with herb butter, fries, and salad. The service was a bit slow, but very friendly and accommodating.

I was there recently and ordered a Jägerschnitzel. The schnitzel was greasy and cooked in old frying oil, and the fries and sauce were convenience food. Thanks, never again.

Everything in itself is great. Food was really delicious and a lot. The service could be improved a bit, no one comes to the table and asks if everything is okay, I had to go to the waitress alone to get the bill because after a long wait no one came out. You can buy red wine at Kaufland for €5 and there the same bottle costs €30…. Service is very nice but they could try a little harder and take more care of the guests.

We held our wedding in the restaurant's vaulted cellar and it was absolutely beautiful. The ambience was simply great, we received a lot of compliments on the location and also on the food. A mix of German and Indian cuisine. At our request, it was also possible to offer many vegan dishes. Everything tasted great, our guests were thrilled! The service was top. All employees are super committed, attentive and very warm. Our wedding celebration was exactly as we wanted it to be. At this point, thanks again to the entire Anker team for making this possible for us! 🙏🏼

My wife and I celebrated our wedding on February 22nd, 2025 in the vaulted cellar in the Anker. The location, the food (German-Indian buffet) and the service were excellent. The operators were very helpful and committed during the planning and on the day/evening itself. Clear recommendation for events. ☺️👍🏻

We were there today and had goose and sirloin skewers. The goose and sirloin skewers were very dry, and the red cabbage was cold. We waited a long time for our food and drinks. The service was very friendly but unfortunately a bit slow.

We went there for dinner on a recommendation because they also serve gluten-free schnitzel. I had a Frankfurter schnitzel with green sauce and gluten-free fries. Everything worked out perfectly and was delicious. Service was very friendly. Parking is also right next to the restaurant. We'll definitely be back.

I have visited the restaurant several times since its inception and overall I can only report positive things. Both the atmosphere that the historic building in the heart of Alt-Kesselstadt alone conveys, and which is continued in the homely ambience of the guest rooms, as well as the quality of the food and, last but not least, the attentiveness of the staff speak for an exemplary restaurant that I can recommend with confidence.

Really a very good schnitzel and the dumplings with hunter's sauce are also excellent. The portion was generous and the price was completely reasonable. We'll be back :)

Apple wine, ordered sweet. It turned out that this is a cocktail - apple wine with fanta (and it also tastes like water). Indian music in the background does not really match the interior.

I think the combination of German and Indian cuisine is very good. The Jägerschnitzel was brilliant, especially the homemade fries and the Indian dish was also very good. Definitely we'll come back.

Das allerbeste: der Service, das schlechteste: das Essen. Gemütliches Lokal mit Biergarten. Mein Essen: Gekochte Eier mit grüner Soße und Kartoffeln, dann Kaiserschmarren. Die Kartoffeln waren gerade noch lauwarm, eventuell vorgekocht und schlecht aufgewärmt, die grüne Soße war sicherlich nicht hausgemacht. Der Kaiserschmarren war ein zerfetzter Pfannekuchen (Crepe).

We were there last week and sat behind the house in the "beer garden", which is beautifully designed and is in a quiet location, far away from the relatively busy street. German & Indian cuisine is offered. I ate pike perch fillet with dill cream sauce. The pike perch is really very tasty, but the dill cream sauce tasted nothing like dill or anything at all. There is a need for improvement. All in all it was very nice there and the service and the owner were very nice!

It was outstanding. There were two of us and, incomprehensibly, we were the only guests around 9 p.m. We had the best gluten-free schnitzel outside of Vienna here. The fries were also perfect, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The staff was very friendly and asked several times if everything was fine. The restaurant is very nice and rustic with beautiful half-timbering. A place to feel good and linger.

Wir waren mit einer grösseren Reisegruppe hier nach einem Testessen im Frühjahr. Ach da hatten wir ein gutes Essen, wurden nett bedient und alles hat Rundum gestimmt. Sonst wären wir ja auch nicht wieder gekommen. Wir haben unsere Busgruppe angemeldet und eine Gerichtauswahl vorab getroffen um diese dann per Telephon durchzugeben. Das hat auch alles ganz gut und problemlos geklappt. Unsere Gruppe wurde im schönen Biergarten hinter dem Haus untergebracht, es war ja auch gutes Wetter. Der Biergarten hinterm Haus ist sehr hübsch, ruhig gelegen und es gibt Sonnenschirme. Der Service war prompt und hat Tisch für Tisch zeitnah die Getränke aufgenommen und auch so serviert. Anschliessend kamen die kleinen Speisen, Vorspeisen und Salate ebenfalls Tisch für Tisch. Im Anschluss dann noch die Hauptgänge, diese dann Thema für Thema, nach den Nummern. Auch Zwischenmeldungen mit Getränkenachfragen wurden prompt abgewickelt. Auch das Zahlen Tisch für Tisch und einzeln mit oder ohne Karte ging ganz fix voran. Die Toiletten sind ebenerdig und sauber. Ich hatte 2 Weizen und das Rumpsteak mit Kräuterbutter und Pommes. Der Salat ist sehr sehr gut! Den muss ich hier extra loben. Alles wird schön angerichtet, die Salatschüsseln sind sehr hübsch, das Steak kam auf einem Brett. Die beiden Rumpsteaks sassen gegenüber, eigentlich sollte man sich überlegen bei so grossen Bestellungen auf einmal ein Rumpsteak zu bestellen, weil es sein kann, dass es dann qualitativ „durchrutscht“. Es ist aber zu sagen, wir haben beide nichts dazu gesagt; also wäre Medium angebracht. Mein Gegenüber hatte auch Medium, ich hatte eher durch aber nicht trocken. Das war auch okay, es war noch saftig allerdings nicht mehr rosa. Mir hat es jedenfalls gut geschmeckt, ich habe nichts zu beanstanden. Alles wurde korrekt abgerechnet. Schönes Lokal, schöne Lage zentral an der Hauptstrasse am Main gelegen. Wenige Schritte über die Strasse zum Main oder die Allee entlang zum Schloss Philippsruhe. Es gibt Parkplätze direkt am Restaurant. Die Küche ist gutbürgerlich aber es gibt auch indische Gerichte. Auch Vegetarier finden hier was Leckeres. Ich werde es weiter empfehlen und sollten wir mal wieder in die Nähe kommen und Hunger haben, dann wird es definitiv der Anker!

Unfortunately service was very slow. 40min waiting time for a menu?! Food is okay, but the salads are dressed with dressing from a bucket. Otherwise the pepper salt mills should be replaced! Everything was full of rust, I said that too and then there was a new one with rust! Dry herbs from the jar have no place on the plate. Overall bad. We won't come again.

We had a great visit to the Anker. Parking is free and right next to the restaurant, which isn't a given in Hanau. We sat outside on the lovely terrace. Service was really excellent. They immediately brought us an Ikea high chair for our baby. The food was truly unique. The spices used here were delicious and out of the ordinary. The fries also seemed to be homemade (but not sure). The price is really reasonable for Hanau. All in all, a really great visit, and we would come again.

We sat outside in the back courtyard. It's not the classic beer garden atmosphere, but it was still very nicely done. The service was very friendly and attentive. The starter was delicious papadums, which are highly recommended. I had a cordon bleu with fried potatoes. Crispy, well-seasoned, and delicious! For the two of us, it came to €80, including tip. All in all, a lovely evening with delicious food. Thank you very much 🤗

We were really hungry and spontaneously decided to go out for dinner. The first restaurant, "Cei la vie," was closed. The second restaurant, "Zum Rothen Löwen," was closed for the holidays. Our third choice was either "Zum Schwanen" or the "Landgasthof Zum Anker." The Schwanen was full, and at the Landgasthof Anker, one of the 10 tables on the terrace was occupied. In the first 15 minutes, no one came to take our order, which should have been possible with only one table occupied. So I went in and ordered two shandys and the menu. The rest of the service was good, but the food—one schnitzel with green sauce and one with onions—was abysmally bad. I can't remember ever having such a bad schnitzel. It wasn't fresh, tasted bland, and the onion schnitzel simply didn't look good, I can't put it any other way. The red onions were overcooked, and there was some overcooked red onion sauce on top. Hunger drove me to eat it, and my wife left half. We could console ourselves with the price of €39 for two schnitzels and two shandys, but that was small consolation. We would have preferred to just eat well, even if it were a higher price. P.S. We absolutely don't understand the reviews. Are they fake? Do the other guests really have such simple expectations? Are we perhaps being too demanding? Or was the chef having a bad day that day? We'll never find out.

I haven't eaten this well in a long time. And the staff are extremely attentive and friendly. Friends keep coming back. And this certainly won't be my last time here. A full 5 stars!!! We have been regular customers so far and have always been very satisfied. Now we had a voucher that was only valid for a short time (a few weeks) and has now expired without us noticing. Unfortunately, they show no goodwill and no longer redeem it. We'll go somewhere else in the future.

Es ist ein altes kleines Restaurant. Es gibt verschiedene Gerichte zum angemessenen Preis. Mein Essen war super lecker 😋. Auf der Rückseite befindet sich ein kleiner Biergarten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Vielen Dank. 😊

Das essen war okay. Die Käsespätzle waren lediglich Spätzle in Sahne-Soße, die Grüne Soße war lasch. Dafür war das Rumpsteak genießbar. Der hausgemachte Eistee bestand aus Wasser mit Sirup. Der Service war leider grausam. Das Personal kam nur nach Aufforderung an unseren Tisch und war trotz geringer Auslastung offensichtlich überfordert. Wer gern vor leeren Gläsern sitzt, ist hier super aufgehoben

Sehr netter Service, man geht gern auf Kundenwünsche bei der Zubereitung ein, deutsche und indische Spezialitäten mit Fleisch, Fisch und vegetarisch. Auf Wunsch glutenfreie Zubereitung vieler Speisen, auch panierte Schnitzel. Karte wird angabegemäß demnächst überarbeitet und um vegane und glutenfreie Gerichte ergänzt.

Wir waren nur im Haus bei jemandem zu Besuch

Wir sind hier durch Zufall gelandet und ich sage euch das ist auf jeden Fall Empfehlenswert. Super netter Service, super Essen Preis/ Leistung perfekt. Wer hier nicht hin geht verpasst was.

Allem voran: der Kellner war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! Leider haben wir einen sehr kleinen Apfelstrudel mit Pfirsicheis (!?) für knapp 7€ erhalten. Was ein Pfirsicheis auf dem Teller zu suchen hatte, erschließt sich mir nicht. Ich habe auch mitten im Winter den kältesten Wein meines Lebens bekommen. Das Ambiente war recht gemütlich, auch wenn die Sitzbänke sehr abgenutzt sind und neue Bezüge gebrauchen können. Die Toilette war leider nicht sauber. Der Inhaber schien nicht gerade nett zu seinen Mitarbeitenden zu sein. Insgesamt gibt es hier viel Luft nach oben.

Geheimtipp in Hanau. Echt toll. Nette Bedienung (Junger Mann) sehr höflich und nett gewesen. Das Essen kam schnell. Der Salat war top. Ich hatte ein Jägerschnitzel mit Pommes war auch top. Meine Frau hatte das selbe wie ich. Die Preise sind ganz normal und fair. Wir waren hinten im Biergarten sehr nett gemacht. Mit Kinderwagen drinnen wie draußen gar kein Problem. Innen ist es sehr schön wirklich. Man fühlt sich wohl. Musik war auch angenehm und nicht zu laut. Wir waren heute das erste mal da und werden Stammgäste werden. Nur zu empfehlen.

Äußerst freundlicher und schneller Service. Die Location bietet mehrere Sitzbereiche (außen vor dem Lokal, Innenplätze und ein kleiner Biergarten). Das Essen kam schnell, vor allem der Beilagensalat wurde fix serviert. Unser Essen war geschmacklich ok (Schnitzel Wiener Art und Zanderfilet), aber die Schnitzel waren sehr dünn und, besonders am Rand, viel zu trocken. Direkt neben dem Lokal gibt es einen öffentlichen Parkplatz.

Fürs erste mal Gut Service Super alle Freundlich

Dieses Lokal hat kein klares kulinarisches Konzept. Hessisches oder indisches Essen? Die Speisekarte hat zwar mehr von Hessen zu bieten, aber warum nicht eher etwas aus dem vermuteten Ursprungsland des Wirts probieren? Das Ergebnis war gerade noch gut, wirkte aber wie Fertigware - schade. Lobenswert ist die sehr nette und höfliche Bedienung.

Wir haben in dem Gewölbekeller des Restaurants eine wundervolle Hochzeit in einem tollen Ambiente gefeiert.

Tolles Lokal, leckeres Essen und ganz großartiges, freundliches und aufmerksames Personal! Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert!

Gestern seit langer Zeit mal wieder im Anker gewesen...nun unter indischer Leitung! Vorspeise war gut, gebackener Weichkäse mit Zaziki! Mein Ceasar-Salat war ein Salat mit Joghurtsauce und ein paar(!) Brocken frittierem Hähnchen, ein paar Fertigcroutons, kein Parmesan, das war gar nix! Schnitzel meiner Frau war okay....okay! Naja...im Sommer nochmal....!

Nur zu empfehlen. Sehr freundliches Personal (Familie?) und aufmerksam.. Essen war liebevoll zubereitet und schmeckte sehr lecker. Das einzige was stört... Haben draußen gesessen und der Straßenverkehr war ein wenig störend. Ansonsten 👍👍

Unterirdischer Service, langsam und hat von 2 Getränken eines vergessen. Der Kaiserschmarren kam nach 20 Minuten leider noch innen roh (und das für ein Kind). Nach der Reklamation dauerte es ewig bis wir nochmal den gleichen Teller bekamen, dann mit angebranntem Kaiserschmarren, der sauer geschmeckt hat. Wir sind dann sofort ohne zu essen gegangen. Nervige Disco Musik und ein türkisches Auge an der Wand, keine stimmige Deko. Dreckige Tischdecke, schmuddelige Ecken. Sehr schade, das Lokal lebt nur von der Lage. Unbedingt vermeiden.

Gerichte die auf der Karte waren geb es nicht. Diese Festellung dauerte 30 Minuten. Geschmack war akzeptabel aber man braucht es nicht mehr.

Relaxed lunch after a visit to the nearby museum. Intimate booth seating. Service was polite but note no English menu. Also not all staff speak English. Food was freshly prepared at a relaxed pace. . The chicken curry was mild (to cater for local tastes) and the mixed grill and beef steak were well executed. Only cash accepted.

Sehr schön gelegen am Main mit Biergarten und schöner Location. Erstklassiges Essen und sehr freundlicher Kontakt und Bedienung. Und im Kellergewölbe lässt sichs ordentlich feiern 😊 Wir hatten unsere Hochzeit dort gefeiert, ausgezeichnet gegessen und richtig schön Party gemacht. Im Sommer hätten wir noch den Biergarten zur Auswahl gehabt. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Der Service lässt zu wünschen übrig!Vergessen Getränke Bestellung aufzunehmen vergessen Getränk zu bringen nach 100 min. kam dann endlich das Essen!Bis auf Drei! Als die dann da waren fehlten die Beilagen!Das Hauptgericht war gut das Dessert ein grosser Reinfall! Alles in einem!Danke nie wieder!

Schönes altes Fachwerk-Gebäude mit tollem Charme. Gemütlicher Innenhof. Freundlicher Empfang, auch dem Wunsch nach einem Platz im Innenhof wurde man gerecht, obwohl das Wetter nicht ideal dafür war. Lokal geprägte Speisekarte mit hessischen Einflüssen. Sehr schön ist die Probierplatte bei der man 4 kleine Schälchen verschiedener Gerichte wählen kann. Tolle Kreationen. Die Portionen könnten etwas üppiger ausfallen, die Beilagen sind knapp bemessen. Der (Beilagen)-Salat war lecker und interessant angerichtet, aber mengenmässig hart an der Grenze. Nichtsdestotrotz stimmiges Gesamtkonzept, freundlicher und zuvorkommender Service, sowie ein Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis das ingesamt in Ordnung geht.

Das Landgasthaus „Anker“ liegt an der Philippsruher Allee, fünf Gehminuten vom Schloss Phillipsruhe entfernt. Es handelt sich um einen schönen Fachwerksbau und besitzt auch einen netten Innenhof; ein Wegweiser führt in zehn Schritten zu diesem, bei großem Hunger nur mit vier Schritten erreichbar; leider verriet er mir nicht, wie viele Schritte man wie ich als hinkender Achillessehnengeschädigter braucht! Die Bedienung ist rasch und sehr freundlich, es gibt lokale saisonale Speisen von hoher Qualität; wir aßen Anfang Juni ausgezeichneten Spargel Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis; Sonn-und Feiertags geöffnet, Hochzeits-, Geschäftsessen und Co. sind möglich, im Gewölbekeller können bis zu 60 Personen feiern.

Ganz spontan entschlossen wir uns beim Vorbeifahren zu einem Besuch. Die Räumlichkeiten sind urig und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, geduldig mit unseren Kindern und hilfsbereit. Das Essen war ansprechend serviert und angemessen im Preis. Toll fanden wir die Idee, aus einer großen Auswahl kleiner Gerichte vier Tellerchen als Tapas bestellen zu können. Die Fleischqualität war sehr gut, etwas Speck an den Bratkartoffeln hätte die volle Punktzahl gebracht. Wir kommen gerne einmal wieder.

Wir waren in diesem Gasthof und waren komplett zufrieden. Die Reise von Bayern nach Hessen hat sich gelohnt, da dieser Gasthof bayerische Küche und Getränke anbietet. Der Service lässt keine Wünsche offen Top Essen und geschmacklich einfach super. Wenn wir wieder in der Gegend sind ist uns der Landgasthof Anker wieder einen Besuch wert!

Vor dem Konzert wollten wir noch gut essen und das kann dort sehr gut. Wir hatten Schnitzel und die wurden in der Pfanne und nicht in der Friteuse zubereitet. Der Service war sehr freundlich und auf Gäste eingestellt, auch als es hektisch wurde. Wenn wieder ein Konzert besuchen werden, werden wir dort vorher essen gehen.

Kann man jedem empfehlen - das Essen ist sehr lecker und die Wirtin sehr freundlich 😊 Waren nun schon 3 mal dort und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Draußen im Hofgarten kann man gemütlich und ruhig sitzen. Das Essen schmeckt jedes mal ausgezeichnet & der Service ist immer...

Das Essen war sehr gut haben draussen Gesäßen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Jeder Zeit wieder war echt super.
