10/4/24 evening I have now visited the “new” tenant for the second time. Starter: Tartare made from grilled vegetables with dried tomato pesto and roasted bread. Main course: Rib Eye Steak 🥩 Waiter Nico was very attentive and nice to me as an individual. I never felt alone! Note on the map: Yes, it is small. I think that's how it should be! This is how the chef can 💯 guarantee quality. Everything here is freshly prepared and always tastes good. “Extra” requests, e.g. spinach as a side dish, were accommodated.👍👍 The card changes monthly. A new concept in Bludische Knoche that delights the palate.

We went there for dinner at the weekend with a group of 10 people. Everything a la carte, I was very impressed! A small inn where guests have been looked after for over 300 years, with super friendly service. The food, for me a vegetable tartare and then a steak, was really good. In addition to great taste, it also looks great on the plate. Everything is a little more refined in a rustic half-timbered house environment! The chef/owner is regularly with the guests and explains, jokes and is happy when he makes the guests happy. Highly, highly recommended!

The vegetable tartare was super tasty. I can recommend it without reservation. Service was very friendly and attentive even though it was busy.

A fantastic restaurant! The food is very good and they change the menu depending on the season but there are always many options to choose from. The service is very good and all the staff are very attentive. If you want authentic German food I recommend you visit this place.

Great local. The menu changes seasonally, I had the vegetable tartare (mega) and the schnitzel (large and juicy - very tasty). Fair prices for very good quality. Would definitely come again.

A dinner in a historical ambience. Small, fine menu with selected products. I had the brawn: a delicious, well-seasoned jellied soup with lamb's lettuce and nuts. Plus a tender lamb with red wine sauce, onions and potato crusts. Delicious😀

An ideal location for a family celebration. The most diverse wishes were fully and easily fulfilled, warm atmosphere, service and cuisine very friendly and very competent. I can only recommend it

Very cozy restaurant with delicious food. I was very happy about the vegan options. We have been there twice now and have had a good meal both in the courtyard and in the restaurant. The menu changes seasonally, so you can always get something new. It was really great!

We used to love going there to eat delicious schnitzel and drink beer. The new card no longer appeals to us - neither the offer nor the now significantly higher price. Very unfortunate.

This was our second time (midweek) at the RL since it reopened. Yawning emptiness. What’s the point? Anyone who knows the RL expects a cozy, homely atmosphere - unfortunately this has changed. It seems much cooler now, and the occasional hanging pictures and mirrors in gold frames don't change that. The slightly aggressive background music - taste can be debated - unfortunately reinforced this impression. In terms of feeling, I would say: there is a lack of female input in the design... The food is very good - but unfortunately it's just way too expensive. The vegetarian dishes are good, but I'm not prepared to pay around €15 for a bit of green salad, a few tomatoes and blueberries plus dressing (the menu has since changed). The vegetable tartare (not a hot dish, by the way) was also over the top: a small heap of vegetables served with bread with a very (very!) dark baked crust - €15. Slightly larger as a main course for just under €19 (for VEGETABLES). If you order a bit of bread separately with an already expensive dish, that will also be charged extra. (“By the way,” I mean in the sense that - as is traditionally the case in RL - you meet up with friends on a regular basis, actually mainly to have a drink.) The typical “clientele” that came earlier during the week would probably prefer traditional German/Hessian cuisine with little things, sometimes even a hearty schnitzel. And otherwise I can only recommend the operator: one or two soups on the menu and something cheap if you're slightly hungry couldn't hurt. But with these prices it won't work in the long run - even if other restaurants have also increased their prices, in my opinion Kesselstadt is not the right place for that - at least if you want to attract the “neighborhood”... By the way, the service is very courteous, attentive and nice. Maybe sometimes you don't need anything new to fill the place - which definitely has potential. It's a shame that the regulars don't come anymore, otherwise you could ask why exactly that is... but maybe it's busier on the weekends? It's definitely worth not completely losing sight of old traditions!

We went in curious and came out overjoyed, you don't really need to say much more. The food was perfect! The ambience and service also left nothing to be desired. All in all, we had a wonderful and delicious evening here with our family. Many thanks to the whole team ❤️.

Leider sehr viel Luft nach haben, wir hatten leider teilweise keine frischen Speisen erhalten. Sehr lange Wartezeiten, obwohl wenig los, Tisch wurde nicht abgeräumt. Wir hatten wesentlich mehr von diesem Abend erwartet.

I have reserved a table for 2 people. I also get confirmation for the day. Also a reminder a day before the visit. When I drove to Hanau for the appointment, I found myself standing in front of closed doors. The sign said WORK HOLIDAYS. Very customer friendly.

The place is quite rustic but comfortably furnished. The restaurant was a bit too dark for me. Small beer garden, but due to the weather there was no alternative that day. Small, ambitious menu. Good selection of wine, also by the glass, although a little expensive. My husband and I sampled the menu. I was missing a piece of bread for the salad starter. The cheesecake dessert was too dry for me and I missed the Calvados with the Calvados apples. The main courses - meat and vegetarian - tasted very good and were sufficient and attractively prepared. Reservations recommended. We will definitely visit the restaurant again and recommend it. The operators always have nice guests!

I was in joyful anticipation at the reopened “blutische Knoche” and everything was 100% fulfilled. We sat in the beautiful beer garden under the vines, the small menu was completely convincing. The food was well prepared and of very good quality. The service was very friendly and attentive. The interior is also nice and cozy. Highly recommended, we will be back 😃

It was my first time in Rothen Löwen. We were warmly welcomed and had a nice table in the small beer garden with a very nice atmosphere. The interior is also lovingly designed and not boring, but rather divided into different areas. The map is very clear, but for me that is a sign of quality. My flank steak with baked potato and cole slaw was delicious and absolutely perfectly prepared and presented. The service was super nice and courteous, but not intrusive. I can only recommend the restaurant.

You feel like you're at home! The service is very warm and attentive, the food is great and the wine selection is also great. We would like to come again!

Tried the Rothen Löwen for the first time today. We were warmly welcomed and the small beer garden has a very nice atmosphere. I really like that there is only a small card, the quality is good. We had flank steak with baked potato & coleslaw and char fillet with tagliatelle, white wine sauce, zucchini and tomato vegetables. Both were very tasty, the small menu changes every month and the service was super friendly and attentive. We'll definitely come back.

We really enjoyed the reopened Rothen Löwen today. We sat comfortably outside under an arbor. There were appealing dishes on the small menu. Two special requests were addressed easily and the service was generally very pleasant. The rump steak and pork cheeks were excellent. The original apple cider cream dessert also had a very delicate taste. We look forward to coming back :)

The food is offered seasonally and really made from the heart, also beautifully garnished for the eye, service you are really treated well as a guest you can tell the staff is making an effort Chapeaux and keep it that way.

A very nicely decorated, cozy restaurant with an outdoor area and a nice atmosphere. The welcome was very friendly and the service was committed and happy at work and serving. The selection of food was small but fine and there was something for every taste. The dishes were beautifully presented and you could tell that real thought was put into the dishes and flavor combinations. The vegan dishes were very original and exciting. You didn't wait particularly long, but there was enough time between the dishes to pause, and you were also asked whether the next course could come if you had ordered one. I actually wanted to try more but at some point my stomach was full :) Personally, I'm very enthusiastic about the vegan offering because it's not just a salad but something in itself. The location next to the castle also offers time for a nice walk to digest. Happy to visit again!

Super netter Kellner. Kreative Gerichte, die mit sehr viel Liebe und Aufmerksamkeit zubereitet wurden. Das Restaurant ist gemütlich. Leider regnete es so dass wir nicht in dem Garten sitzen konnten. Der Garten sieht sich sehr einladend aus, mit Wein überwachsen, so dass man einen heißen Sommerabend dort gut verbringen kann. Also werden wir bald wieder kommen.

Kleine aber feine Auswahl. Raffinierte Ideen, sehr schön angerichtet und offensichtlich von guter Qualität. Die Weinpresse haben mich allerdings irritiert: € 4,— wow, dachte ich. Ist allerdings nur für 0,1 l was wiederum recht happig ist!

On June 16th, 2024 I was kind enough to be able to book a table for 6 people at 7 p.m. even though the kitchen was only open until 7 p.m. When I asked whether there were any restrictions when selecting the offer. Was that denied? But it could be that a court is out. We had Handkäs with music three times as a starter. The hand cheese was served separately from the ingredients. We had to prepare it ourselves at the table. Vinegar, oil, chopped onions, no cumin. Pepper and salt were on the table. I have never experienced that you have to prepare the hand cheese yourself. It also tastes better if it marinates a little. The main course on the very small menu was: rump steak with beans, pork cheeks with vegetables, trout with fennel, and a vegetarian dish. The vegetarian dish was out and the pork cheeks were only available once but without the asparagus that was supposed to be included. 2 of the guests ate the steak, one the pork cheeks. One guest had a salad plate from the starter menu as his main course and I had the trout. I was actually expecting a whole fish. But there were two fillets on the fennel. The fish was fried a little too dry for me All dishes tasted good. I found everything to be a bit unimaginative. No decorations and there could have been a few potatoes or some rice with the fish. According to the card you couldn't order anything. I also missed some bread on the salad plate. Unfortunately there is nothing for children on the menu either. All in all, it wasn't what I had hoped for. There's something else going on. I wish you much success and we'll keep an eye on what's going on with you.

Great ambience, friendly, courteous service, opening menu was very well done. We can only recommend it.

Die Speisen sind ganz o.k. - Solide angerichtet und auch schmackhaft. Die Bedienung tut was sie kann, aber bei guter Belegung kann`s dauern. Allerdings finden wir es unmöglich, das dieses Restaurant unter keiner der öffentlich zugänglichen Rufnummer erreichbar ist. Eine Reservierung ist daher nicht möglich. Uns ist es schon mehrfach passiert, dass wir beim Besuch gefragt wurden ob wir reserviert hätten, was aber schlicht micht möglich ist. In der Folge was es dann eine Fehlanzeige mit unserem Essen dort. Ebenfalls haben wir das Lokal schon sponat besuchen wollen, zu Zeiten an denen eigentlich offen sein sollte. Stattdessen standen wir dan vor verschlossener Tür und mussten ebenfalls unverichteter Dinge wieder abziehen. Von aussen, kein Schild, keine Speisekarte, keine Öffnungszeiten erkennbar. Im Internet nur Rufnummer die nicht erreichbar sind. Das ist schlicht nicht nur eine Missachtung von potentziellen Gästen, die doch schliesslich Geld bringen für den Wirt, sondern einfach nur unprofessionell. Und wenn einem das bereits mehrfach passiert ist, hat man einfach keine Lust mehr dort aufzukreuzen. Der Wirt sieht das anscheinend mehr als locker und betreibt seinen "Laden" anscheinend nach Lust und Laune. Da andere Mütter auch schöne Töchter haben sucht man sich dann halt eine ander Kneipe. So einfach ist das !

Solid, home-style cuisine, but the external impression of the restaurant is rather suboptimal. The food is quite ok. - Solidly prepared and also tasty. The service does what it can, but if there is good occupancy it can take a while. However, we find it impossible that this restaurant cannot be reached on any of the public numbers. A reservation is therefore not possible. It has happened to us several times that we were asked during our visit whether we had made a reservation, but that is simply impossible. As a result, we didn't have any food there because it was fully occupied at the time. We have visited the restaurant spontaneously several times, at times when it was supposed to be open. Instead, we stood in front of a locked door and had to leave without having accomplished anything. From the outside, there is no sign, no menu, no opening times and it all seems very neglected. On the Internet there are only phone numbers that cannot be reached and apparently have not been valid for a long time. This is not only a disregard for potential guests who ultimately bring in money for the innkeeper, but also just very unprofessional. And if this has already happened to you several times, you simply don't feel like showing up there anymore. The innkeeper seems to be more than relaxed about this and apparently runs his “shop” as he pleases. Since other mothers also have beautiful daughters, you just look for another bar. As simple as that !

Centrally located at the castle. Parking options in the immediate vicinity. Nice lady in service. Very attentive and friendly to the children. Food good quality and very tasty. Ambience rather rustic. But it has a great charm. Toilet clean. We'd love to come back! Price performance is TOP! Thanks!!!

Unfortunately we didn't have a nice evening there. Food came to the table cold and after we wanted it warmed up, we were treated anything but nicely by the staff. Not a nice atmosphere from the outside either.

Some of the bad reviews are ridiculous! Whether schnitzel, sauces, soups or the pig. A dream! The map is clear and has it all. The service was extremely competent and extremely friendly. The chocolate cake in particular is an absolute blast. Gladly again :)

Historisches Restaurant mit einer interessanten Geschichte die man am Gebäude auf einer Tafel nachlesen kann. Sieht schnuckelig aus, leider war geschlossen als wir da waren...

Ich war hier vor kurzem mit meiner Familie essen und es war ein sehr schöner Abend. Das Essen fand ich lecker und auch so ist es im Restaurant sehr atmosphärisch. Sehr gemütlich dort und auch durch die sympathische Bedienung hat man sich wohl gefühlt. Das einzige was mir und meiner Familie aufgefallen ist, ist das es sehr warm innen ist, was zum Ende hin etwas unangenehm wurde. Ansonsten aber ein wirklich empfehlenswertes Lokal.

Waren 5 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder, Waren alle mit unserem Essen sehr zufrieden, vor allen Dingen wurden die Steaks sehr gelobt. Was mir gefallen hat, das die Kinder zuerst ihr Essen bekamen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Das Essen war an sich gut. Der Service wiederum ließ sehr stark zu wünschen übrig. Wir waren zu fünft und bei 2 von 5 Tellern gab es Missverständnisse bzw Probleme mit dem bestellten Essen. Bei einem der Teller waren die Pilze leicht versalzen. Schlimmer verhielt es sich bei meiner Begleitung. Hier wurde ein Gericht bestellt, allerdings sollte das Schweineschnitzel lediglich durch Kalbsschnitzel getauscht werden. Stattdessen wurde ein anderes Kalbsgericht serviert, allerdings ohne Salat und Sauce. Die Sauce haben wir am Ende extra bezahlen müssen und die Bedienung hat sich nur schwer zu einer Entschludigung durchgerungen, obgleich der Fehler eindeutig bei der Kommunikation zwischen Bedienung und Küche lag. Ich empfehle dieses Restaurant gar nicht weiter, obwohl es bis vor kurzem ein sehr gutes Restaurant war. Sehr schade

Ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen. Essen qualitativ gut. Die Speisekarte müsste mal neu erstellt werden. Die fällt fast auseinander und ist "dreckig". Das schreckt ab. Hatten wir auch angesprochen.

Sehr uriges Lokal eine sehr nette Bedienung die trotz einer Veranstaltung am Vortag mit wenig Schlaf sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich war. Das Essen Rumpsteak mi Zwiebeln und Bratkartoffeln mega lecker und größer als auf der Karte (250g) angegeben war auf den Punkt gebraten ( Medium) wir kommen wieder
