Today, for the first time, I was treated very rudely by an employee. It's currently the games fair in Essen. That means it's busy and stressful. I always understand that. We stood in line for 20 minutes. Mind you, the people in front of us and behind us didn't have reservations. Those in front of us got a seat. It wasn't a problem. When several tables finally became available, we went inside and were told that these tables were reserved; there was no sign or anything else on the table. There were reserved tables, which were then gradually taken while we waited. But the worst of it was the way we were told that we couldn't eat anything there today, even though there were people in front of us without reservations, and they got a seat. After I asked when the reservations for the four freed tables were scheduled, they simply said cheekily: "It doesn't matter, you won't be eating here today." That's no way to treat people who stand outside in the cold for 25 minutes to eat in a restaurant. I then pointed out that they could have announced outside: "People only with reservations today." The employee's statement doesn't make sense here. After I left, I told the queue that no one with a reservation would be able to get anything to eat today. After that, there was no longer a line. A small sign would have sufficed. What really annoys me is the way they make people wait for nothing, even though they've spent a whole day at the trade fair or working.

The food was amazing but the server was acted offended when I ask to see their halal certificate. He said " if you don't like it you just don't have it.". You can just simply say no. I am not demding for it. It was a very simple question.

The menu also lacks any kind of culinary variety or creativity. The menu relies heavily on pre-made, ready-made, or frozen products. The quality of the service is extremely poor. The service was very inattentive and therefore seemed very weak and absent. One of the worst things is that the store doesn't accept objective criticism. There were only three of us in the store, and the reviews already written by friends were deleted after a short time. This is absolutely unprofessional!

For that price, you could get a better burger elsewhere. The garlic fries were delicious! But that's not why I go to the place. Whenever I come to Germany I have to visit this place for a Bison burger meal. The food is delicious with a nice relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend you try it out.

It's worth it every time. We make the half-hour drive at least once a month just to enjoy "Mr. Bison's father" (yes, that's really the name of the burger). Every bite triggers an explosion of flavor like no other. The ambiance is truly wild. Cherry blossom trees, rustic tables, a wall that looks like a container from a Japanese port, and jazz music create a well-rounded and harmonious overall picture—even if you might not think so at first glance. There is one negative aspect, however: every other burger shop is overshadowed to such an extent that it's almost impossible to enjoy it. So, enjoy at your own risk.

Very tasty, we tried it yesterday. I had the vegan pumpkin and eggplant burger and it was absolutely delicious! The sweet potato fries were also perfect. I'm deducting one star because the regular fries were a bit cold and the portion of regular fries was apparently smaller than the sweet potato fries. The iced teas were a bit too sweet for our taste. For two people, we paid about €55. I would come back for a burger 😋.

The service was very poor; almost no one was there, and they didn't address any problems. The food was very greasy; the fries were definitely warmed up, soggy, and completely inedible. The meat was very good, I must say, but the burger itself was very greasy and not recommended. We were very disappointed. The homemade iced tea arrived very warm despite the ice cubes. After discussing it with the server, he only offered us more ice cubes and no substitute. We would have preferred a different drink, but it was undrinkable in 32-degree heat outside. Overall, very poor, and we won't go back.

Simply amazing. The ambiance looks fantastic, the food is delicious, and the staff are really friendly and helpful with the food selection. There were three of us there, and I have to say both the beef and chicken were really great. I personally preferred the beef. The zucchini patty was also supposed to be good, but since I didn't try it myself, I'm just sharing my companion's opinion. The garlic fries are exactly what they say they are. Very tasty, but you have to like the garlic flavor. And the "regular" fries are also really well made. All in all, we were really impressed and can highly recommend Traumkuh.

Exceptionally delicious burgers with sweet potato fries and a choice of dip, enjoyed under blossoming cherry trees (replicas are not required, regardless of the season) and pleasant lighting. The music is pleasantly relaxing and not too loud for pleasant conversation. This ambiance is perfect for a relaxed evening with excellent food. The homemade drinks are also highly recommended.

The hamburger was delicious and the portion was generous. The fries weren't quite to my taste; they were very greasy, but everyone has different tastes and opinions. I ordered the monthly menu, a hamburger with fries and a drink, about €22. Since I didn't eat the fries, I'll just have the hamburger next time. I wanted to order iced tea, but they didn't have any ice cubes. It was a Saturday in the summer, and I can't believe they don't make it for customers. Since it was very hot inside, we had to wait until a table became available outside. The service was very good, and the food was excellent.

Simply fantastic. You can really feel the quality behind it. I highly recommend the poutine and the Undertaker. The portions aren't actually that big, but I didn't feel as heavy and sluggish after the visit as I have at other burger joints.

Geschäftsreise wo kann man gut in Essen essen? Das war das Lokal mit den besten aktuellen Bewertungen. Ich bin weder Kenner von Burgern, noch von Trüffel. Aber Traumkuh war die perfekte Wahl. Bürger des Monats "Trüffel-Burger" = 6 von 5 Sternen. Eigentlich sind Süßkartoffeln nicht mein Ding, aber die Pommes war genial. Man lernt eben nie aus. Das Lokal ist klein und stilvoll. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Schade, dass der Trüffel-Burger eine Saison Burger ist.

We had reserved a table for 6 people on a Sunday - arrived at the restaurant and asked for our table - nothing had been prepared, we had to push the tables together first. The young man helped with that, though. When I saw the waiter's T-shirt, I actually didn't want to eat anything - it was covered in stains and smears. You can't get to the table and serve people like that. Really disgusting! If you're working in the kitchen, you're supposed to put an apron on your head, and then take it off when you come to the front to serve! The drinks we ordered arrived and were just placed randomly on the table without anyone asking who had what. But the food was very good and the drinks delicious! The service wasn't that courteous, more like a check-in without any interaction!

Als ob das noch nicht gereicht hätte, sieht man hinter der Theke die Leute die das Essen zubereiten mit dem Handy in den Hand telefonieren und gleichzeitig Handschuhe tragen, mit denen dann die Lebensmittel angefasst werden. Auf Google gibt es angeblich nur 4 und 5 Sterne Bewertungen, was absolut Fake ist.

Based on the reviews we thought; Let's not go to the local burger joint today. The realization is that we would rather go to Tofino in the future. The burgers were good. Service was OK. Nothing more! Drink selection too small. You can also tell, compared to Tofino, that this is a franchise.

Why am I only giving it one out of five stars? Today, my wife and I visited this fast-food burger restaurant for the first time. We've owned a voucher book (Schlemmerblock) for some time now and wanted to redeem the voucher for this restaurant. It's always a nice thing for us, as it allows us to get to know other new restaurants. The voucher offered the opportunity to order two dishes once and only pay for the more expensive one. The owner's interest is in gaining exposure and potentially gaining new regular customers. In accordance with the voucher guidelines, we pointed out our voucher before ordering. The waitress at the counter then informed us that her boss had instructed her to no longer accept Schlemmerblock vouchers. She couldn't give us an explanation for this. Her boss simply didn't want it anymore. Of course, that's not acceptable. Trying to attract customers with an entry in Schlemmerblock and then refusing to accept the voucher is absurd and not reputable. Obviously, you won't win new customers that way. Addendum from May 3, 2025: I have since been informed twice (on October 9, 2023, and again on May 3, 2025) by Google that the owner of this restaurant had challenged my review – first with the false claim that I had never visited the restaurant, and later with the accusation that my review was defamatory. Both times, I was able to prove to Google with evidence (including photos and location history) that my visit actually took place and that my report accurately reflects the actual incident. I believe it is important that other guests also know that there have apparently been repeated attempts in the past to have critical but legitimate reviews like mine deleted. Two other reviews that described the same incident at the time (refusal to accept a voucher) are also no longer visible – presumably at the instigation of the owner. However, I have archived screenshots of these reviews, which could further confirm my account. I don't mean to harm a restaurant – but anyone who publicly advertises vouchers and then refuses to accept them without giving a reason must expect honest criticism.

THIS IS THE BEST BURGER SHOP. POINT. I've eaten a lot of burgers in my life, but NEVER anything like this! I had the Khanzir substitute with a double patty. That was awesome! Best burger of my life! But not only was the food very good, but also the atmosphere with calm jazz music and the relaxed feeling that is very important when eating. It's a burger joint that feels like a luxury restaurant without being stuffy. The service is first class. Especially when you come for the first time, you are welcomed and guided through the menu. Since I travel a lot in Germany for work, I take the opportunity to try out new burger shops in different cities. My conclusion: Traumkuh in Essen is by far the best burger shop in Germany. Why? Many people claim to do everything themselves - at Traumkuh this is not an advertising promise, but rather normal standard. The patties are a decent size, juicy and are smashed just right without losing any of the meat juice. The buns go perfectly with it, they are fluffy but not too dominant, so that the taste of the burger comes into its own. There is also a difficult but nice decision: crispy fries or really good sweet potato fries - both absolutely recommended! My honest conclusion, without a bought opinion like some YouTubers: 5 stars and the best burger in Germany. At least. I'm looking forward to my next visit if I'm in the area.

Der Burger war OK, aber weder groß noch überragend. Einrichtung und Ambiente verstehe ich nicht. Ich finds komisch. Bedienung gibt's nicht, man holt sich sein Essen selbst ab. Dafür war es recht teuer. Wie waren uns einig, dafür stimmt das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis nicht.

44 € für 2 Burger mit matschigen Pommes finde ich übetrieben. Dazu gibt es nur Wasser, kein Bier, kein Wein und das alles in Selbstbedienung. Die z. T. recht positive Kritik können wir daher nicht nachvollziehen. Einmal reicht.

The restaurant is busy on weekends and there aren't too many tables. When you're done eating, someone is usually ready to take your place. You order at the counter, there are no waiters. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is "normal", but not particularly advantageous for the customer. So, it's very pretty and specializes in burgers, but the decoration makes you think more of Asian food like sushi. I ordered a chili burger and my companion ordered a classic burger with fries. Personally, I liked the chili burger better because the classic burger tasted 80% like the famous Joppie sauce, which I found a bit boring. Generally the meat is good.
