Just ordered there for the first time. Absolutely the best burger I have eaten in years. Especially for delivery. I'll definitely go by sometime

We were here at the motor show and wanted to have a nice meal in the evening. Very nice atmosphere, super friendly staff! The food tasted very good (smashed burger and pulled pork fries). The beer was ok, we Allgäu people are simply spoiled 😜 We'll be back! 2 people with food and drinks under 50€ is a good price!

Placed an order for pickup, discovered at home that the order had been messed up. When speaking to staff on the phone, no acceptable solutions were suggested by the employees. The food is now completely overpriced and if mistakes happen with the prices that present the employees with an insurmountable problem, even though it would be really easy to solve, it's just shit, I'll tell you how it is.

If you want to eat very good burgers, Tofino is the place for you! Where else can you choose the degree of doneness between rare, medium and well done? Plus delicious fries etc... The tables are quite small, the ambience isn't a great architectural achievement, but that's forgivable.

The best burgers I know. There are always new, delicious creations. Since you can't make a reservation and the store is quite small, you have to plan for a waiting time.

Burgers are okay. Atmosphere a bit affected. Actually quite entertaining, but it becomes annoying when the waitress is more interested in her own burger than in the guests. Things get unpleasant when the waitress feels disturbed because the guests are in a hurry.

Great ambience and a great selection of vegan dishes - the vegan burgers and the currywurst were really tasty and highly recommended! Even the non-vegans in our group were very happy with their burgers. There is seating both inside and outside, although this is somewhat limited. Overall, definitely worth a visit! ☺️

Excellent burgers and fries. Somewhat surprisingly: Tofino also has one of the best coffees in the southern district. Highly recommended for a quick espresso. The team is very nice and attentive. Personally, I miss a grilled cheese burger on the menu. Speaking of the map. The website desperately needs some love and attention.

We have never been disappointed here. The burgers are very good, the lunch menu is really fair and the staff is friendly.

In the meantime it has simply deteriorated a lot, both food and service and if you have opening hours until 9 p.m. on Sunday and customers want to order something to take away at 8:15 p.m. and are turned away because the kitchen is already closed, that's very weak. . The food is great, the service is always friendly. Since the room is rather small and has a lot of tables, it gets extremely loud. People are screaming while they talk. So we had a headache from the volume and almost had to shout at each other to understand each other. It wasn't relaxing, but the burgers are super tasty.

First of all, I've enjoyed eating here so far. But today's experience caused this restaurant to lose me as a customer. We ordered two cheeseburgers and one fries. After 45 minutes we politely asked for our order as we still had concert tickets for the evening. We were told that there had been a lot of Lieferando orders and that we should wait another 20 minutes for two burgers and a fries. In my opinion, you should only accept orders that you can do within reason. Waiting time of over 1 hour in total, and we're not talking about fine dining here, but about a burger joint. They are absolutely not appropriate. Too bad. This is how you scare away guests.

gerade eben NEU Eins vor ab, bisher habe ich gerne hier gegessen. Aber die Erfahrung des heutigen Tages haben dazu geführt, dass dieses Restaurant mich als Kunden verloren hat. Wir haben zwei Cheeseburger und einmal Pommes bestellt. Nach 45 Minuten haben wir freundlich nach unserer Bestellung gefragt, da wir noch Konzertkarten für den Abend hatten. Man sagte uns, dass es halt viele Lieferando Bestellung gegeben habe und wir weitere 20 Minuten auf zwei Burger und eine Pommes warten sollen. Meiner Meinung nach sollte man nur Bestellung annehmen, die man auch im angemessenen Rahmen erledigen kann. Wartezeit von insgesamt über 1 Stunde, und wir reden hier nicht von Fine Dining, sondern von einer Burgerbude Sind absolut nicht angemessen. Schade. So vergrault man Gäste.

I ordered something to pick up and unfortunately found that the service left a lot to be desired. After a long wait, I found out that my burger had been ready for 10 minutes - without anyone informing me. Why aren't customers simply notified when the food is ready? If this is the usual system, you should at least make it clear when ordering that you have to keep an eye on the status of the food yourself. It shouldn't be so difficult to say, "Hey, your burger is ready." Instead, when you ask, you feel like you've been taken aback when you're told that your food is already ready. This doesn't leave a good impression, because as a customer you shouldn't have the feeling of being ignored. In the end, both the fries and the burger were cold - which makes it difficult to give a fair assessment of the food.

Forgot extras, burger almost cold, burger meat black in some places (tasted burnt), received a different drink than what I ordered

We were given a voucher and had a burger here for the first time today. A small shop: rustic and nice. When it's full, it's also quite loud. For us it's more for a short visit, but... ... the service is incredibly friendly and the burgers were incredibly tasty (goat cheese and fig = ❤️). Fresh and tasty. The fries were also super tasty - both the standard fries and the fries with bacon. We will definitely stop by again and take a burger break. Thank you!

My ex-girlfriend once took me to Tofino, which I'm very happy about. I come from Nuremberg and whenever I make it to Essen, it's always Tofino. I love this store! Small and very fine. The burgers are really great and the service staff are really nice. Please keep it up. I'd love to come back...probably in January 😅

Really tasty burger, you could feel it's made with good materials and the fried potatoes were seasoned and really crispy! Had the bacon jam burger. Will go again for sure.

Tofino has been our go-to burger shop in Essen for over 10 years. We go there at least once a month to try the changing burger of the month (the Christmas burger with loos and red cabbage…). There is always the fantastic poutine or chilli cheese fries made from homemade potato sticks. The burgers on the menu are all good too. My favorites: Grande Cochones and Bacon Jam Burgers. The Brutally Smashed Burger has recently joined the ranks. The long-established staff is always nice and friendly. With around 30 seats, the store is always particularly full at peak times, but if you come anti-cyclically, you can get a seat.

Delicious burgers, unfortunately difficult to reach by email, telephone or PM. The chili fries were missing from my last order. Unfortunately my complaint was not answered.

Mixed. You can eat okay here, but 4 or 5 stars - never. The standard cheeseburger 110g and the smashburger 100g were ordered. First look at it objectively. The burgers weren't a real smash burger. The patty was still a bit thick, which worked well in combination with the bun size. However, due to the patty not being smashed properly, roasted aromas from the smashing were missing. The patty is quite dry after smashing and you usually compensate for this, so to speak, or take a different direction. The normal cheeseburger. 110g as standard is far too little here. The bun was probably 20%+ bigger. In general, the buns were very large and therefore the main player in the burger. It is better to make the patty 130-140g as standard. Or simply make the buns smaller. The patty was no longer even slightly pink and was completely cooked through. Juicy is something else. There was still enough sauce for that, and the ingredients were fresh. The pickles were really sobering, just zero power. You could have saved yourself. The Smashburger didn't have enough sauce on it, the burger was too dry, but it tasted better. I thought the cheeseburger burger sauce was okay, but the Joppie sauce on the smash was too sweet. Yes, but there was no alternative. In summary: the relationship wasn't right. But the base is quite good. Sauces are a matter of taste. It wasn't my case. Smaller buns! Or bigger patties. There is clear potential for improvement with the pickled cucumbers. Luckily the patties were properly salted. Oh well, you hardly tasted the cheese on the cheeseburger/was hardly there either. Small addition: A colleague had a 200g cheeseburger and a double smash 200g was better for my colleague. But that's not true. Too much for a burger. Here too, Patty was tomato and co through and through. Was it too watery for him, I don't know. Therefore, the colleague was disappointed with the cheeseburger with the 200g patty. His bun wasn't here either and seemed dry/unheated. The Smashburger with two patties was probably quite good for him. I can also imagine if there was a little more sauce on it, which I assume is the case with two patties. The big bun has probably moved into the background a bit. He also said that the 200g cheeseburger significantly detracted from the overall impression of the very good Smashburger. He ate this afterwards. Overall, it reads badly, but that's not entirely true per se. But a good burger is something different. Because the buns are quite good. The sauce is a matter of taste and the patties, well. Unfortunately, burgers are sometimes standard in food. But if you're hungry for burgers, don't feel like driving another 5-10 minutes and are in the area, you can still go. Otherwise there are only 1-2 alternatives in the area, but these also have their quirks. Actually, the only thing that bothers me here is the bun-patty relationship, I have to say, you can ignore the rest for now. The bun also seems more tailored to restaurant burgers. A smaller/squishier bun on the smash would also be quite good. Sauces are a matter of taste. Ordered for collection via Wolt with a discount, so I can't say anything about the price.

Highly recommended! Just treat yourself to a cold drink, an excellent burger of your choice and to round it off with some poutine fries. -Let your taste buds explode-

One of the best burgers I have ever had

Was there at lunchtime, during the week. Hardly any activity. Let's start with the best: The service was quick and friendly. Why this stranger calls me on a first-name basis even though the location calls for “she” prices will remain a secret. The burger was pretty good. Bacon jam was on spot, as was the bun's toastiness. Since I wasn't at McDonalds but in a real burger joint, my guess was that the patty would be medium rare, as it should be. Unfortunately, this was not the case. McDonalds doneness level. Let's get to the bad part. The french fries. Anyone who looks at my photo would think, "Oh, those sweet potato fries look good." Unfortunately, they weren't sweet potato fries. I picked out 3-4 edible fries and dipped them into the 1€ mayonnaise, the rest went in the trash. When asked about it, I was confirmed that these didn't turn out well today and were extremely dark, but they weren't waived for me either (I didn't ask, that would actually be a given). Finally, about the location and location: Ok for every city kid. The tough ones can sit outside in 4-5 places on a busy street.

Was there spontaneously for dinner. An order: Cheeseburger with bacon and blue cheese. Fries with mayonnaise Top! The best cheeseburger I've ever eaten so far. Nothing to complain about. Order came quickly. If you want to go there by car, I would advise against it. No good parking options. But the train stops a few meters from the shop. Perfect

Super recommended! This place has a cool vibe, tasty burgers with juicy patties. Sweet potato fries and the fries with the pulled pork were legendary.

Went there for the first time today with 5 people: 2 adults and 3 children. Everyone ordered different burgers and waited eagerly. After 15 to 20 minutes they arrived and already looked fantastic. The taste is incomparable so far!! The most critical eater of the bunch finished first! It couldn't be better!!

Saturday 8:55 p.m., drive there from Düsseldorf and it is closed. Three employees stand behind the closed door and don't think it's necessary to talk to us, that's how you scare away customers!!

I went to the burger restaurant based on a recommendation, but I left it very quickly because I'm a "creature of habit" and don't consume FritzCola or similar sodas. I just don't like that stuff! (Coca Cola or Pepsi not on offer - otherwise I would have stayed there). Therefore only one star! I am only rating for other customers who have similar “taste neuroses” as me. I'm disappointed ! When I ordered the supposedly 200 gram burger, I discovered with regret that the burger I ordered contained a tiny meatball. Unfortunately, despite my complaint and showing the burger to the chef, nothing was done to resolve the issue. In addition to this incident, the fries we ordered with it were also badly burned. I find it difficult to understand how such quality issues can occur, especially since we have been to your burger joint several times. Ein nettes kleines Restaurant. Der Service war sehr freundlich, das Essen lecker. Lediglich die Burgerbrötchen waren etwas trocken. Die Pommes dagegen waren sehr lecker und ich bin eigentlich gar kein Pommes- Fan.

Man hat Hunger bis zum Abwinken, informiert sich auf der offiziellen Webseite, wann die Burgerbude am Sonntag geöffnet hat (12-21 Uhr), kommt dann um kurz nach 16 Uhr dort an und findet ein Schild vor, dass von 16-18 uhr geschlossen ist. Habe den in der Bude sitzenden Damen zugewunken, um auf diesen Missstand aufmerksam zu machen, habe aber nur ein Kopfschütteln geerntet. Wer so arbeitet, muss damit rechnen, dass Kunden umgehend zur Konkurrenz gehen.

Great selection of castles and side dishes. The salad is a stunner and I always look forward to the burger of the month, so creative and usually an exciting combination with seasonally appropriate ingredients. It's a bit cramped, but you're willing to accept that for such good food.

Leider war es wie bei den anderen Malen zuvor, das zwei Stunden vor Restaurantschluss, ein Schild in der Tür hing, das der Laden bereits AUSVERKAUFT ist! Kann ja MAL passieren, aber in dieser Häufigkeit? Man sollte an der Planung arbeiten, was die Menge der Zutaten angeht Wir werden uns einen anderen Burgerladen suchen- schade Tofino

Definitely the best burger joint in town!

Ich war schon ein paar Mal dort, meist mittags, aber auch ein oder zweimal am Abend. Das Tofino ist eine ganz nette Location, klein und etwas eng, aber ganz nett. Allerdings nichts wirklich besonderes. Und das gilt inzwischen leider auch fürs Essen. In meiner Wahrnehmung war es dort anfänglich besser, inzwischen verstehe ich den Hype aber nicht mehr. Die viel gelobten Pommes finde ich eher durchschnittlich. Und die Burger sind zwar ganz lecker, aber auch nicht überirdisch. Manchmal war das Fleisch sehr durch und trocken. Manchmal war der ganze Burger ziemlich fettig. Insgesamt zwar ganz lecker, aber eben auch nicht abgefahren. Fürs Mittagessen ist es für mich ok. Wenn es dort abends voll ist, kann es auch schonmal ungemütlich werden.

Unfortunately, cold and well-fried burgers weren't for us. I was here years ago and actually didn't think it was bad. The review here confirmed my memory. We had to leave half of the fries because they weren't edible. Even the burger bun AND patty were thoroughly oiled. Unfortunately I don't understand something like that...

Es wird mit Bio-Fleisch geworben, jedoch auf der ganzen Homepage nirgends ein verpflichtendes Bio-EU-Logo oder eine Kontrollnummer zu finden. Auf der Hompage gibt es auch kein Impressum, bei Lieferando schon. Unter der angegebenen Rechtsform ist bei den Öko-Kontrollstellen jedoch kein Betrieb registriert. Daher die Frage, ob ihr unlauter mit Bio geworben wird und ob überhaupt Bio zum Einsatz kommt. Keine Empfehlung!

Eins will ich voranschicken: Wir haben hier wieder nicht gegessen - ich sehe es aber als meine Pflicht an, potentiellen Besucher folgendes mitzuteilen: Wir sind aus Essen, und haben schon zum 3. Mal versucht, hier zu essen, haben aber 10 Meter vor der Tür kehrtgemacht und sind woanders hin, denn jedes Mal war nicht nur jeder Platz besetzt, nein, die Leute stehen auch eng an eng im Gang, und sogar draußen (bei 5 Grad und Regen), so voll ist es, dass man meint im Club oder in der Düsseldorfer Altstadt oder auf Weihnachtsmärkten am Wochenende zu sein. Wie soll man denn da einen Burger essen, es geht ja nicht drum, nur ein Bier zu trinken? Also hier die Warnung: wer abends hier hingeht, um zu essen, sollte einen Plan B haben, wenn es zu voll ist - bei uns war es das jedes Mal...

Gemütliches Restaurant und super leckerer Burger

Tofino, eine wahre Liebesgeschichte. Ich habe gut 10 Jahre im Ruhrgebiet gelebt und hier studiert. Tofino habe ich als Tipp von einem Freund 2013/2014 ausprobiert. WOW! Von Anfang an absolut beeindruckt und überzeugt von Geschmack und Qualität, überzeugter Wiederholungstäter. Mittlerweile lebe ich zwar in der Nähe von München, ein Tofino Besuch ist jedoch bei jedem Besuch im Ruhrgebiet absolute Pflicht, da wird nicht diskutiert ;) Ich habe natürlich unzählige andere Burgerbuden ausprobiert, jedoch (egal ob in München oder in Berlin) kommt bisher keiner an Tofino ran. Absolute Ausnahmequalität, Bacon Jam Burger als all-time favourite. Auch wenn ich das Tilmans Helle aus München gut kenne und entsprechend positiv überrascht war es bei euch trinken zu können. Drink local hat sich hier endlich durchgesetzt, Stauder bei Tofino, yeah, ENDLICH!

Smashed Burger war gut. Ein bisschen weniger Jopi Sauce wäre auch okay gewesen. Staufer war kalt und nicht zu beanstanden.

Leider nicht mehr mit früher zu vergleichen. Als wir da waren, Mittwoch/Feiertag Abend, war es Medium gefüllt. Die Bedienung schien nicht so richtig Lust zu haben, so dass jemand, der anscheinend dort auch arbeitet und als Gast mit Freunden da war, an seinem Tisch Service gemacht hat. Das Essen war ok, hat aber über eine Stunde gedauert. Die Trüffelmayo war nicht mehr gut. Beim Bezahlen habe ich das gesagt, die Antwort war: Echt, ach ja, das haben auch schon einige andere Leute gesagt… wurde auch nicht von der Rechnung genommen. Auf der Theke wurde einfach das komplette, dreckige Geschirr gestapelt. Auch so noch nie gesehen. Schade, hab’s immer sehr geliebt…

Sehr schönes, entspanntes Lokal mit nettem Personal! Tolles Mittagsmenü und leckere Burger (auch gute vegetarische/vegane Alternativen).

Gestern am 8.10 gegen 17 Uhr über zwanzig Minuten versucht jemanden überhaupt ans Telefon zu bekommen. Dann geht jemand ran sagt nur 2 Minuten und legt denn Hörer zur Seite. Nach über 4 Minuten warten kommt immer noch nichts. Dann habe ich auch aufgelegt. Sorry aber dann dürft ihr nicht anbieten das man Burger abholen kann. Sorry ganz schlechter Service

Tolles Essen und freundliche Bedienung

Meine absoluter Lidblings Burger Laden. Komme immer extra aus Dortmund hier hergefahren um den Bacon Jam Burger zu essen. Bleibt wie ihr seit ! :D

Das seit langen der beste Burger den ich gegessen habe... Das Fleisch auf dem Punkt gebraten, die BBQ Soße schön rauchig und das Bacon knusprig lecker... Die Pommes dazu, die doppelt fritierten.... Also aufjedenfall eine Empfehlung

Leider nur noch ein Schatten früherer Tage. Wir waren von Anfang an Gäste. Mittlerweile ist es leider Glücksspiel ob der Laden geöffnet ist oder nicht. Manchmal steht eine Info bei Instagram, manchmal nicht. Manchmal steht auch es ist auf. In Wirklichkeit ist dann aber zu. Wenn Kartenzahlung mal nicht möglich ist bricht man sich auch keinen Zacken aus der Krone das online zu kommunizieren. Vor Ort zeigt man sich dann unflexibel. Man könne ja gegenüber Geld abheben. Kann ich, kostet mich dann noch nen Fünfer dazu. Burger schmecken auch je nachdem wer in der Küche ist mal so mal so. Pulled Pork Pommes „gibt es schon ewig nicht mehr“. Hab ich nur letztens (als ich mal nicht vor verschlossener Tür stand) noch gegessen. Stehen auch noch auf der Karte. Gerne steht man auch mit dem Koch vor dem Laden und raucht erstmal zwei Zichten bevor man die Gäste bedient. Alles in Allem sehr schade da es früher echt top war und wir teilweise mehrmals die Woche da waren.

Ordentliche Burger sehr lecker 😋

Vor einigen Monaten haben wir das Tofino regelmäßig besucht und gerne weiter empfohlen. Heute hatten wir telefonisch zur Abholung etwas bestellt. Beim Betreten von Tofino wurden wir freundlich und sofort bedient. Was aber sofort aufgefallen ist, dass die Theke voll stand mit gebrauchtem Geschirr und den Resten von Essen was dem guten Eindruck beim Betreten teilweise wieder genommen hat. Als wir Zuhause unsere Tüte mit dem Essen auspackten, fehlt die bestellte Sauce zu Pommes. Die Pommes waren nicht frisch zubereitet bzw. wurden diese ein zweites mal ins Fett getaucht und waren deswegen dunkel und fettig. Dann hatten wir einen Burger mit doppelt Käse bestellt, was nur einer einfachen Portion entsprach. Der andere Burger war mit Jalapeños bestellt wovon sich zwei kleine Scheiben darauf befanden. Der Geschmack der Burger war auch nicht mehr der, den wir aus der Vergangenheit kannten. Schade, wir sind sehr enttäuscht.

Die Burger waren ganz okay. Die Pommes allerdings so dunkel und mit altem Fett frittiert, dass sie mit det getränkt waren. Echt schade, weil diese eigentlich aus frischen Kartoffeln gemacht werden. Chilli cheese Pommes kann man auch nicht weiterempfehlen, diese wurden sogar kalt serviert.

Heute vor Ort drei Burger bestellt, direkt mitgenommen und 250m weiter im Hof gegessen. Ungewohnt schlechte Qualität, Fleisch quasi ungewürzt, insgesamt nicht wirklich warm, Brötchen ungetoastet und komplett durchgeweicht. Sehr viel Wasser im Burger, evtl. nasser Salat? Vor Ort Feedback gegeben, kein entgegen kommen, wie Gutschein etc. "Feedback wird weiter gegeben". Werden Tofino daher erstmal meiden, schade. War früher wirklich sehr gut, hat stark nachgelassen.

Burger sind ok, Fleisch ist frisch zubereitet. Pommes nur kleine oder Endstücke. Service 😬

Schade, dass auf der Homepage nicht angekündigt ist, dass heute geschlossen ist. Es ist nachvollziehbar, dass Krankheit und Urlaub zu solchen Maßnahmen führen, aber dann doch bitte kommunizieren. Instagram ist echt kein wichtiges und ernstzunehmendes Medium. :-( 45 Minuten umsonst hier her gefahren.

Top Burger, klasse Service. Ein Muss, wenn ich in Essen bin.
