The No. 1 in Essen. They've tried almost the entire menu and have never been disappointed. Amazing burgers, fries, and hot dogs. Love it 🫶

Well, I'm personally very disappointed. €5.50 for fries that are, in my opinion, too small, and half of them are so dusty and dry that they crumble. €1.50 for truffle mayo that only fills half the bowl, and a lukewarm burger.

Absolutely recommended! The burgers are unique and the fries are a real treat! We'll be back again and again 🤗

It's delicious!! I think Japanese people would love the hamburgers here too. The meaty patty is sandwiched between a crispy and fluffy bun, topped with fresh vegetables, and the onion sauce? It's also delicious. The staff are also very kind and friendly. The kids' set is delicious, and it even comes with a free gift, so the kids will love it! I'm so happy to have found a hamburger place I like in Germany. I'll definitely go again!

A young food truck business. Very nice and friendly, courteous, and helpful staff, happy to advise you. Excellent burgers, fresh ingredients, and many homemade items. The homemade fries are also really good. But everything else is also recommended. Eat in, takeout, or delivery, whatever you prefer. When the weather's nice, eating in is a pleasant change. It's best to go and try it yourself... Enjoy your meal 🍴

Great burgers, great fries, super friendly staff, and great prices!!!! That's what matters to me. If this were a fancy place, at least the prices wouldn't be kept, and I have no problem eating this good food in a tent or outside when the weather is nice. Please maintain this quality, and then the place will always be recommended!! We came all the way from Duisburg and would love to come back!!!

The food is really, really good! The cheeseburger, the special fries, and the onion rings with sour cream taste excellent and are reasonably priced. The vegan selection and all the other burgers are also very good, according to friends. While there are other contenders for the cheeseburger, and I don't want to do them an injustice, it could easily be the best burger in town. I'm convinced the special fries are the best. The staff there are also really friendly; we've ordered several times, but we'll definitely be coming back in person more often in the future. "Despite" the photo printing, you can pay with cash and card, and there are plenty of seats, including plenty of covered ones. I can't say whether it gets very busy at certain times; we were only there in the early evening, and it was pleasantly busy/light, and you don't have to wait too long for the food. The selection of food and drinks is just right; there's something for everyone, and the basics are available. As far as I'm concerned, it can stay just like this!

The burgers and fries were delicious, a real hidden gem on the Autobahn. We had to stand in line and wait a bit during rush hour on a Sunday evening, but that's what happens when something's particularly good.

If you're looking for a good burger, Burgerschmiede is the place to go. The selection isn't overly large, but there's something for every taste. There are also many options for customizing your burger with additional ingredients. The wait time is okay, but sometimes you'll have to wait 20-30 minutes if you order in person. It's still definitely worth it; we're happy to come back. There are now several seating areas. I would also give this place 7 stars.

The overall package is just right here. Very tasty food, by far the tastiest burgers I've had in the region. Fresh and high-quality ingredients. The service is very friendly, attentive, and cheerful. The food truck is located parallel to the main road, and there are plenty of seats overlooking the fields. The value for money is excellent, and we therefore recommend the Burgerschmiede food truck without reservation.

I highly recommend it. The burgers are amazing. The Bacon Jam Burger, in particular, is incredibly delicious. The fries are delicious, and you get a very large portion that would easily feed two people. The burger prices are more than fair. The staff are incredibly friendly. The burger and fries were still delicious, and the fries were crispy, even after a 10-minute drive home. I have nothing to complain about.

Very tasty food at fair prices. We ordered with the family, and the delivery time was less than 20 minutes. The burgers were delicious: decent quality meat, fresh lettuce on the burger, and crispy fries. They didn't skimp on the sauce and bacon either. Overall, very exemplary service, entirely to our satisfaction! The fact that the young lady who delivered the food seemed a little out of sorts, which caused a delay in the transaction, was overlooked, as the food was truly delicious. We'd go back anytime, and definitely recommend it!

We discovered Burgerschmiede quite by chance because the highway was closed. But the stop was worth it. We had really delicious, fresh burgers and fries. Have been to this food truck several times now, the burgers and fries are really great. Everything seems very fresh and prepared with love. The employees were always very friendly and processed the orders very quickly. Always happy!

I was there for the first time last night as a new customer. There was a lot going on, a lot of customers on site, which speaks for the store. Staff super friendly. Waiting time: Very long for a takeaway, I waited 25 minutes for my burger. Many Lieferando orders. I also had to wait longer than customers coming after me who then placed their orders at the stand. Tip: One person at a grill may not be enough to catch such spikes. So deductions in the B grade because of the long wait. Overall, I found the burger a bit too greasy and dripping with fat. But I'll give it another try, because overall, a snack bar like this in my neighborhood is worth supporting.

Friends of the good burger, you've come to the right place! Everyone gets their money's worth here. You get a decent amount of bang for your buck here! If the weather is good, it's worth taking a seat there and having a nice time with good food. They also want to deliver from May! I had the bacon ranch fries and a chili burger. My friend had the Camembert burger with fries + currywurst. Not only did it look good, but for a long time it also felt like they weren't skimping on ingredients or sauces. The meatballs also had a smash burger factor, which gave them a nice crispy note. The staff is super friendly and it was fun to chat with them. I'm looking forward to the next time at Burgerschmiede, hungry for more!

This is the second time we have ordered from Burgerschmiede Foodtruck via Lieferando and we are absolutely thrilled again. The Double Smashburgers are amazing: juicy, perfectly seasoned and simply incredibly delicious. The chicken burger is also convincing across the board, as are the fries, which are nice and crispy and well seasoned. For us, clearly the best burgers in Essen. Absolute recommendation, we will definitely order again.

This is by far the best burger in the area. The staff is very friendly. I recently got the wrong burger and they immediately made me my real burger. I was still able to eat the "fake" burger. So, everything was great! Of course, the atmosphere could be a bit more comfortable, but it is a food truck, after all.

As far as I can tell, this is the best smashburger in the area! The guys haven't copied anything (like some others), but simply created a classic smashburger where all the ingredients work together perfectly: The brioche bun has a slight sweetness and is nice and compact, so everything holds together well; the meat is flavorful without being overly seasoned; the sauce and American cheese blend seamlessly together – simply delicious! The French fries are also a great original creation. You can sit here for a quick snack in any weather, and the guys behind the grill are great hosts. I'll be back!

Actually, 5 stars. The guys are super friendly, the burgers are perfect, the selection and fries are top-notch. The burgers are truly first-class! I have to deduct a star, though, because the surrounding area looks relatively unkempt. The food truck is spotless, and the hygiene is top-notch. When we opened, there were fresh garbage bags, but there was still trash around the bins: full ashtrays, dried-out table plants, etc. Addendum: 2 days later, the trash was gone, everything was spotless, 5 stars

Went yesterday with 4 people in Essen on Rellinghauser Straße, I already told the employees there, easily the best burgers I've eaten in Germany, and I've tried a lot of Goldies, Burgervision etc. So compliments, it was really tasty! The only thing that wasn't so cool was that it was a little cold inside and noisy inside because of the ventilation, I assume, but you can easily get over that with the burgers! :)

Was there for the first time today. Somehow some things didn't convince me. There is trash everywhere when parking. When ordering, a customer asked where he could throw away his cigarette and one condition told him that he could throw it on the ground. OK. Now to eat. Cheeseburger with fries, Joppie sauce and a cola €15.50, fits. The rolls are really great and look good. But somehow I got a Smashburger and the patty felt like 0.3mm thick and was basically non-existent. The fries look good but were completely unsalted. But the highlight was the Joppie sauce. But none of this is Joppie sauce because it's probably too expensive. Then at least write “Homemade Joppie sauce” on it. Otherwise everyone feels ripped off. The people are really nice and the shop has potential, what a shame!

Honest review of the Bürgerschmiede in Essen I was recently in the Bürgerschmiede in Essen and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has a cozy but modern atmosphere that invites you to linger. Nothing exaggerated, just authentic and pleasant. The burgers were really good - juicy meat, perfectly fried, with fresh ingredients and a bun that held everything together without getting soggy. The homemade sauces in particular gave the whole thing that certain extra something. The vegetarian options are not just “side dish replacements”, but really delicious. The fries were crispy, well seasoned and the portions were more than fair. The service was friendly and attentive, even though it was quite busy. The price is absolutely right for the quality. Overall, a really good burger place that I can definitely recommend.

Ordered for the first time and didn't have any great expectations and what can I say...the best veggie burger I've ever eaten at the age of 44! My daughter had the falafel burger and was also very impressed. The chili cheeseburger also more than impressed my husband. The homemade fries were very seasoned, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfect!

Amazing smash burgers, I have probably had hundreds of burgers all over the world, but never had a smash burger like this one. They take smash to the extreme, as the patty was really thin and crispy on one side but still juicy. The bread was a good match for this burger and the fries were also among the best I've had. The guys working the truck are really friendly and they look like they enjoy themselves cooking these burgers, and it reflects in the food they make. Will surely come back whenever I am in the area.

Once again we ate excellent burgers. Super nice team, fresh ingredients made by hand. As can happen, something was strange with the batch of fries, we were informed about this in advance and they weren't charged for them either. And yet they were still good and better than many others. We'll be back, as we have done so often.

A really great takeaway with restaurant quality. The burgers were tasty and well fried, the fries were unusual and also very tasty, so everything was great. We were served extremely friendly and things went quickly despite there being a few customers. The seating in the tent was good, but of course not a particularly nice atmosphere, but definitely visit and enjoy a burger!
