We ordered them and the pesto noodles are simply stock powder mixed with butter, as you can clearly see from the small pieces of carrot. There's no sauce either, so it's very dry.

What's wrong here? Italians with whipped cream on the tiramisu?

Food was excellent and we had starter and main so a bit indulgent. Very attentive and pleasant service.

The pasta was okay. Unfortunately, the pasta vongole wasn't al dente and flavorful. Nevertheless, the service was very friendly and the ambiance was great, but for me, it doesn't quite measure up to a top-notch Italian restaurant.

The food is delicious but the waiting times for us were just gargantuan. We waited for over an hour for our first course, then around the same for the main course, and then it took them a further 1.5 hours to bring dessert. We were a large group but it's not that they make their own dessert! I decided not to order tea at this point because I wanted to make it to my hotel today, not hours later. As a result, I left hungry. The portions are very moderate, and those three hours of waiting didn't help.

The place is located in the heart of Medienhafen. The place is also good for groups, the waiting times are higher. For a group of 8, we had to wait 1 hour. The good is good, not exceptional, but good. The truffle pasta was not up to the expectations. The lasagna was good. Prices are quite good, in the 12-15 Euros per person.

The food tasted really good and the service was very friendly. What's really annoying is the noise of the toilet doors. If you sit close to it, it can really ruin your evening. Unfortunately we forgot a dessert.

After spending five days in Berlin we took the train to Düsseldorf, stayed at the Radisson Blue at the harbour and discovered this incredible restaurant just across the road. We ate well in Berlin, but La Donna Cannone served the best food we came across with love, craft and attention to detail on every plate. Beef carpaccio and Beetroot carpaccio to start - both wonderful - followed by main courses of Fiocchetti (pasta with gorgonzola crème sauce and pistachios) and Monkfish (with tomato sauce, veggies and mashed potatoes). The Fiocchetti was the star - just delicious - and we enjoyed a great bottle of Primitivo and a lovely chocolate mousse for dessert. Attentive service throughout and excellent value.

It tastes like pasta! I don't know the name in detail, but I ordered it while showing the picture in another review, and it was the best choice. However, it takes a while for the food to come out after ordering.

We had a lovely evening for two today, the food was excellent and the service was very accommodating. The atmosphere is upscale and very cozy, a very nice Italian restaurant. We'd love to come back!

Trattoria La Donna Cannone in Düsseldorf is a delightful place to enjoy excellent Italian cuisine. Their wine selection is particularly impressive; The Bolgheri I tried was excellent. However, the real culinary discovery was the lamb liver - the most delicious I have ever tasted. The restaurant offers an elegant and cozy atmosphere, ideal for a romantic dinner or meeting with friends. Service is of a high standard, staff attentive and friendly. If you appreciate quality Italian cuisine, this is the restaurant you need. Oh, and don't forget the limoncello before you leave!!

I would give 0 star if possible because of cancelling our reservation just 40 minutes before the booking time. Then we had to look for another place on Friday evening with our little baby. Not recommended!

Unfortunately it's no longer the restaurant we enjoyed visiting so much. It really decreased massively... Very, very nice team, but the ventilation was absolutely clogged with dust and dirt... Fillet steak had a lot of fat and tasted really sad. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes were cold, and the truffle couldn't save that either ...Otherwise we always had great food here, but today there was something wrong with it...

The truffle tagliolini were good, but unfortunately not al dente. The service was very friendly. Before the dishes were served, delicious bread and black olives were served. We were able to help ourselves to balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper at the table. The prices on the lunch menu are reasonable. Update: The chicken breast fillet with mushrooms and mashed potatoes tasted excellent! Therefore 5 stars 😊

Great authentic Italian restaurant beautiful media harbor. The food was very well prepared and our waiter was just top notch! As a large group, we ordered various starters and main courses and there wasn't anything that we didn't like. Especially the truffle pasta and the saffron risotto were to die for. After our first visit to this restaurant, we unanimously agreed that there must be further visits. We just found it a shame that the lunch menu differs quite a bit from the evening menu. I chose Spaghetti Vongole and in the end I was very satisfied. The size and number of mussels in the light sauce were just right and the overall portion size was such that you were full but didn't feel too full. Other people in the group also reported the same thing. The restaurant is very nicely designed and looks inviting. But I found one thing annoying: in the restaurant there are no large tables set up for larger groups, but rather several tables for two people are pushed together. I certainly understand that this is the most flexible solution for a restaurant, but then all tables should be the same height so as not to create edges where a water bottle could easily tip over.

A real authentic restaurant, super helpful staff willing to help in any way possible for the best experience. Would love to come back the next time in Düsseldorf.

The starters are good (cow and beet carpaccio). Terrible first courses: spaghetti with sausage and mushrooms and tagliatelle with strips of beef. The noodles were cooked just right, but had too strong an artificial flavor, almost resembling the powdered supermarket flavorings they use in Chinese noodles or saikebon. Also there wasn't a trace of sauce and the mushrooms were hard. The cutters were so overcooked that when you put them in your mouth it felt like you were eating mashed potatoes. 96 euros for 2 starters, 2 first courses (of this kind), two glasses of wine and a still water, I would say ultra expensive, especially for the terrible quality of the first courses. Positive note to the friendliness of the chef. PS: feel free to report this review for defamation, but the real defamation is presenting your food to customers.

Unser Kind (20) hatte Geburtstag und wir haben einen Tag in Düsseldorf verbracht, und zum Abschluss hier was gegessen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, wir waren schon um 17:30 dort. Obwohl das Lokal erst um 18 Uhr aufmacht hat man schon die Getränke aufgenommen und auch zeitnah serviert. Der Koch kam etwas früher und die Essensbestellung wurde aufgenommen. Ich weiß nur noch dass ich das Lammkarree hatte und mein Kind die Fischplatte. Aber uns allen 3en hat das essen sehr gut geschmeckt. Und der von meiner Ex bestellt Nachtisch zur Feier des Tages war auch sehr lecker. Ich finde es gibt gute Lokale und auch gute bei denen man satt wird. Aber das hier hatte den Wow-Effekt. Wir waren uns da aber auch alle 3 einig, dass es das alle male Wert war. Gerne wieder und die Portionen waren ausreichend, mit dem Nachtisch ein runde Sache.

Coincidentally found. Excellent meal. Very good quality which justifies the price. Portions adequate. Very friendly service. Only the outside area doesn't reflect the great restaurant. We were therefore more than positively surprised. We'll come back when we're in Düsseldorf.

Very very nice place, very delicious and quiet. I ordered Tartar, and it was amazing.

Also das war nix…. Bestellt hatte ich zur Vorspeise ein Thunfischtartar. Unter „Tartar“ verstehe zumindest ich dünn geschnittenen rohen Fisch in bester Qualität. Nun, bekommen habe ich warme, bräunliche Thunfischwürfel serviert auf Kartoffelpüree… sah total unappetitlich aus und schmeckte kaum besser. Beim Hauptgericht meiner Frau, Risotto mit Zander, dafür das gegenteilige Problem: Fisch zäh und genauso wenig durch wie meine Drillinge. Dabei war die Antipasti-Platte schon grenzwertig ölig und lieblos. Service war freundlich, aber das Essen kaum genießbar. Haben uns dann gegen ein Dessert entschieden und sind nach Zahlung von 150 Euro wortlos und unzufrieden von dannen gezogen.

It's unbelievable how the good reviews come about. Donna Canone used to be one of the best restaurants in the harbor. What's left is cafeteria food. Ridiculous portion sizes at fantastic prices with the cheapest product that wasn't even fresh, it was almost bad. Please work on your quality and service. That's not even worth half the price of what you're doing now.

1.5 hours for lunch? Antipasti only cold and still 30 minutes to get it to the table... not acceptable and portions also very small.. OK in terms of taste but no more

We were positively surprised in every respect by this restaurant, which looks inconspicuous from the outside. Excellent food, friendly, fast and obliging service and a nice atmosphere, even if you sit a little close together here and there. The menu seemed a little too extensive for us to be able to offer all the dishes of really good quality, but... The food was really an absolute highlight! The truffle pasta is perfectly seasoned and refined with plenty of aromatic truffles and additional truffle butter. Cuttlefish, king prawns and scallops are delicious, perfectly cooked and calmly prepared. The fried baby calamari on fennel salad is also great culinary fun. The interpretation of a cheesecake with pistachios as a dessert was exciting, new and surprisingly good. The tiramisu was homemade and classic, but without any real finesse, and we also missed the alcohol in the dessert. Great cuisine that transforms good products into the most delicious dishes! The price-performance ratio is very good and completely appropriate. An absolute recommendation!

Tolles Essen mit tollem Service.

Im Vergleich mit den Nachbarn äußerlich eher unscheinbar, aber herausragend vorzügliche Küche. Die Kalbsschnitzel beim Saltimbocca habe ich selten so zart und saftig erlebt. Ich bin 2 Tage später direkt nochmal hin und die Pasta vongole in Proseccosoße waren ein weiterer Höhepunkt. Bedienung sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Empfehlung!

Un bon restaurant italien dans le quartier de Hafen a Düsseldorf. Les plats sont variés mais un peu chers je trouve. Le service est agréable. A noter que ce restaurant ne propose pas de pizzas mais une belle variété de plats de pâtes, de viande et de poisson. J'avais choisi les penne ariabiata au boeuf qui étaient excellentes !

Niska ocena przdeszystkim za jedzenie. Makaron z krewetkami był okropny. Krewetki jak guma. Ravioli bez smaku. Brak menu w języku angielskim. Nie odwiedziłabym więcej tej restauracji.

Wir waren zur Messe Zeit hier und fast jeden Tag Essen weil wir so beeindruckt waren vom Essen und vom Service. Das Essen ist wie in Italien beim Nonna zu Hause. Wir sind nächstes Jahr zur Messe ganz sicher wieder Stammgäste. Der Preis zu den Portionen einfach top.

Un bel établissement avec une jolie décoration moderne, même si les tables sont très peu espacées... l'accueil est très sympathique, et facilité par l'italien. Dommage que la carte soit un mix d'italien et d'allemand, pas toujours compréhensible du coup! Heureusement, côté cuisine, on se régale! J'ai opté pour des pâtes aux truffes, et mon épouse pour des pâtes aux gamberis, tandis que notre petit a eu d'excellentes pâtes au beurre (il adore)... et nous avons reçu des plats copieux et savoureux! Les desserts sont un peu en dessous, la crème brûlée étant servie dans un ramequin et donc assez épaisse avec moins de croûte caramélisée (mais très bonne au demeurant), tandis que la panna cotta s'est avérée plutôt épaisse, manquant de légèreté. Une bonne expérience malgré tout.

Way too crowded and tables too close. Noisy too. No real atmosphere. Overpriced.

Food was ok, nothing special besides the price. Paying with card didn’t work, tables outside didn’t look like they where ready for guests, so we sat on a table with leaves on it. Quite astonishing how they still charge 65€ for 2 portions of pasta. At least the price was high class.

Die Speisekarte ist genau richtig: weder zu wenig noch zu viel Auswahl. Trotzdem fiel die Wahl schwer – zu verlockend lasen sich die Speisen. Wir hatten als Vorspeise gebratene Baby-Calamari auf Fenchelsalat. Einfach lecker. Auch meine Orecchiette mit Vongole und Shrimps waren sensationell. Dazu ein sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service und ein schönes Ambiente – was will man mehr? Wir haben das Restaurant durch Zufall entdeckt und sind begeistert.

Einziger Nachteil: fast immer sehr voll und daher laut...

Wir saßen am Eingang und dort kam die ganze Zeit der Geruch von der Toilette… Wir haben Rotwein bestellt und in dem Wein waren Stücke drin. Ich hab schon viele Rotweine getrunken und das hatte ich noch nie und dann hat man uns gesagt, es sei normal… Die Tomatensauce hat wie eine Miracle fertig Packung geschmeckt… Werden nicht mehr wieder kommen.

Erstklassiges Essen. Bester Italiener der Stadt. Wir gehen sehr häufig da essen, da das Preis Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt und das Essen sehr gut und hochwertig ist. Der Geschmack ist nicht zu treffen.

Anlässlich eines Geschäftstermins habe ich es nach mehreren Anläufen endlich geschafft, die oft gepriesene Trattoria La Donna Cannone einmal persönlich kennenzulernen und kann alles nur bestätigen, was mir bislang geschildert wurde: Freundlicher Empfang, 1a Service, sehr gute Weinempfehlung und eine spitzenmäßige italienische Küche. Dies wurde mir auch so von meinen Gästen bestätigt. Ich bin absolut zufrieden und war mit Sicherheit nicht zum letzten Mal Gast. Einziger, klitzekleiner Punkt ist die doch in die Jahre gekommene Einrichtung, die nicht bei jedem meiner Besucher die uneingeschränkte Akzeptanz fand. Für mich persönlich aber kein Manko, ich mag alt und rustikal. 😉 Nochmals besten Dank für einen schönen Abend!

Das Essen war wie immer von hervorragender Qualität, aber am meisten hat mich das Tisch Feuerwerk und der extra Champus um 0 Uhr sehr glücklich gemacht. Vielen vielen Dank!! They do have TheFork booking showing availability, but then you get there and there are no spots available. They said they do not use it anymore and they tried to turn it off - but I honestly do not understand how that would be possible. Very disappointing experience.

DELICIOUS food! Ended up eating here two nights in a row (not planned but happened due to other availability) and both times the food was phenomenal. Seafood is very fresh and well prepared. Servers were very attentive and helpful, although it seems there likely aren’t enough for the amount of customers they serve. Received complimentary Prosecco before the meal and limoncello afterwards which was also a nice touch. Would definitely recommend others go if they’re in the area and have a hankering for Italian.

Ein Atmosphäre reiches, schönes Lokal. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und das Essen köstlich.

"Ordentliches" Handwerk... nach ein paar Jahren war ich mal wieder hier und werde kurzfristig wieder kommen. Die Trüffelpasta ist noch besser geworden. Leicht, die Pasta al dente, buttrig....mag ich! Weg von dieses Sahnesoße! Das Dessert war wunderbar. Vorallem der Pustazien-Cheesecake. Tiramisu...🤔geht so, Tartufo mit Baileys...😋

Immer wieder gerne.... Bei den Desserts ist besonders der Pistazien - cheesecake zu empfehlen. Die klassische Trüffelpasta vergass ich zu fotografieren. Die Pasta ist aldente mit "genug" gehobeltem Trüffel, die Trüffelbutter mit dezenter Note....lecker Auch wenn die Terrasse direkt an der Straße - zwischen Parkbuchten liegt - ist es angenehm dort zu sitzen.
