Trattoria del Corso in Berlin

I've enjoyed visiting Del Corso for years. What increasingly bothers me is the arrogance of some of the waiters. Yesterday, I was there with a visitor. A completely normal question was brushed off so flatly that I was almost embarrassed to have chosen or recommended this restaurant.

The food and the ambiance are simply perfect. The service is the best I've experienced in Berlin so far. If you want authentic and truly delicious Italian food, this is the place for you.

Very friendly service, Italian flair, delicious food, and an unusual menu with a changing daily special. A good lunch selection consisting of pizza or pasta, salad, and wine. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant! Reservations are recommended; it's always busy!

So, I'm an enthusiastic regular customer! On different days of the week – the waiters: top-notch! Food: top-notch! Prices: top-notch! Of course, it's located on a main road, so it loses points, but there's also a sheltered beer garden area on the other side...

The restaurant, which used to be truly Italian, must have been influenced by the Balkans in some way and now finds itself in a mixed, hybrid situation between real and fake. Too many grammatical errors on the menu (the waiter admitted that a Macedonian wrote it because the owner was on vacation), cream is pointlessly added to every recipe, and if I order a Coke in an "Italian" restaurant, I'd like a Coke in a bottle, not just a glass with Coke in it. And then in the background: "Gloria" by Umberto Tozzi, "Tu vuò fà l'americano," and of course, "Volare" by Domenico Modugno—maybe better not. This music just makes the whole thing fake. My pizza was very thin, perfectly edible, but spicy salami and bresaola on the same pizza? Better not, one overpowers the other. My wife ordered liver with a side of vegetables (raw green beans and frozen broccoli). As we left the restaurant, one of the waiters (not Italian) said "Ciao Dottore" to me and "Ciao Bella" to my wife. That's not how it's done. Too bad. Thanks, though, for the coffee and the on-the-house digestif. My tip: Go to a real Italian restaurant; there are plenty of them.

Very good food with very good service

Two out of four people found the food good, while the other two found it satisfactory. In any case, the value for money is really good. However, it was too loud for all of us. We could barely hold a conversation at times.

The food is very good value for money, but the service was unfortunately inadequate. When I asked if I had left my bag behind 10 minutes ago, I was fobbed off and told to call again tomorrow.

I absolutely love this restaurant and honestly hesitated to even leave a review — simply because I’m worried I might never get a table here again if too many people find out. Joking aside: this is hands down the best pizza in Berlin. Last year I travelled all across Italy and had the chance to eat pizza in almost every region — and I can honestly say, the pizzas here can absolutely compete. The staff is on point: fast, friendly, and super efficient (which makes total sense given how busy it usually gets). Make sure to book a table in advance — it’s popular for a reason. Also worth mentioning: the price-performance ratio is amazing. Around €25 per person and you’ll leave full and happy. All in all: a fantastic experience, every single time. But shhh… let’s keep it between us. 🍕✨

As connoisseurs of traditional Italian cuisine, we visited the Trattoria del Corso for the first time after being introduced to it by family friends. The ambiance is inviting, with the dark wood decor and the high wine racks in the entrance area. The many photos bear witness to the trattoria's distinguished guests over the past decades. The trattoria is known for its outstanding pizza chef, who has won numerous awards over the years. Del Corso specializes in pizzas and pasta dishes. You won't find any meat or fish on the menu. Also worth mentioning are the delicious desserts we tried. Last but not least, we rounded off the evening with a good espresso. The very attentive and extremely friendly service was very helpful in choosing the pizzas and answering many questions about dessert, so we can only recommend the Trattoria del Corso with a clear conscience. All in all, a really great and cozy evening. We will come back, and more than once.

2025.04.24 - Update It was another birthday and I was invited to del Corso again. This time the pizza 🍕 was really okay. Nothing special, but at least not as cruel as the previous visit in 2022. The service also made a real effort and was friendly. The ambience and I will no longer enjoy it. Placed on the wall and incredibly loud. Small table for four people. It all works out nicely too. 2022-05-15 OMG, rarely have I had such a bad meal. The pizza maker must have thrown the frozen Gemberetti onto the pizza, so a disgusting liquid ran from the product (see photo). More than half of them remained lying there without any reaction from the operator. Dyslexics of taste are probably more likely to be regular guests of this mass processing. I can't imagine all the good reviews otherwise. It certainly can't be the simple grappa at the end. One point more than actually deserved for the acceptable open wine. Otherwise loud, simple and not really comfortable. I was there twice today, the first and the last time.

We spent a wonderful evening at Trattoria del Corso! The ambience is wonderful and invites you to feel good. The team is super friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more pleasant. The pizza in particular was just like in Italy – incredibly tasty! A special highlight was the birthday serenade that was sung to me. Thank you for the lovely birthday surprise! We will definitely come back and can only warmly recommend the trattoria.

Best pizza - Roman style - flat, crispy base, no thick yeast dough like the Neapolitan version. My favorite so far is the 'Trevigiana' - very family-friendly restaurant ❤️ only due to the high number of people our wine arrived a little late - but one star deducted for service. Otherwise great, would go here again and again.

After we asked the waiter if we could sit inside or outside and he said it didn't matter, we told him we would sit outside. A waiter came out several times, collected money, He made eye contact with us and actually knew that we needed cards and that the still full table had to be cleared. After waiting for over 10 minutes we left.

Nice discovery in Berlin, a pizza restaurant that is truly worth it... the pizza is large and very good, the first courses are excellent and plentiful, very good, you can feel the hand of the Sardinian chef and he is also the owner. I'll also say a few words for the staff... friendly, nice and well prepared and helpful... if you pass through those parts, go there, you won't be disappointed for sure...

I've been living in Friedenau for 15 years and I've been enjoying eating here for 15 years! One of the best pizzas and you just feel like you're in Italy. If you order a pizza to take away the answer is always 10 or 15 minutes 😍 Recommendation goes out!

As a welcome there is bread, balsamic vinegar and oil. Large, delicious pizza and a schnapps on the house. Fast and friendly service. Unfortunately, as a Spandau resident, it's too far to treat yourself to the pleasure often. However, parking spaces are in short supply.

The food wasn't bad but not tasty either, the pizza dough was very soft and not crispy. The Parmesan cheese was like hay. Why I had to give one star is the unfriendliness of the staff. The blonde waiter was so rude, rude. In addition, the room was very, very cold, the radiators were not warm. We couldn't sit for long.

Good food, lousy and arrogant service. Had reservations on Valentine's Day. Apparently there was no table at first. Were put on a six-pointer, later implemented in an unfriendly manner. After 30 minutes we complained that we would like to order. The waiter: “It doesn’t matter whether I come a minute or two earlier or later!” Regular customers, on the other hand, are served immediately. With all understanding of stress - NOT THAT way. It was hard to get out of the restaurant because there were so many people waiting for a table. Comfort is different. Never again.

The staff is always friendly, attentive and accommodating. They spare no effort to ensure that guests feel comfortable and that their wishes are met. The food was really really good. They provided good alternatives to tomatoes, and were otherwise really sweet. However, they did not speak English.

First of all, good impression. Real Italian flair. Then the disillusionment. Waiter very reserved. Don't feel like reordering. Veal schnitzel was old and the sauce was poor. Same with my guest. Really embarrassing. No matter, gave a good 10% tip and it wasn't enough for "a reunion" - we were friendly and cooperative. We noticed that there was a completely new management that probably still had to get used to guests. Maybe recommended later…

We were visiting home and chose this restaurant. My husband's pizza salami was very large and good. Thin, crispy, well topped. Unfortunately I didn't like my pasta with chicken strips and mushrooms (bland, boring). I have never seen our companion's carpaccio like this in any restaurant. A mountain of salad, topped with carpaccio drowned in sauce and a bit of parmesan. The ambience was far too much like a “train station hall”, but that’s not entirely unusual in Berlin. Unfortunately I wouldn't come again.

The price-performance ratio is simply top. The food is above average in my opinion, but it comes quickly and at affordable prices. At peak times, you should expect to have to wait for a table.

I was running Berlin, somehow lost , with no charge in my phone. I entered the restaurant and the vibe was amazing. Best try ever. The staff was the nicest I've seen, and besides they helped me a lot! I hope i return one day
