A somewhat hidden snack bar that I tried today. The gyros spit was practically empty, and the meat was consequently quite dry. However, the seasoning made it taste okay. The pita wasn't rolled as described on the menu, but only served in bread, which tasted very sweet and didn't really go with the food. Salads and onions were sitting unrefrigerated in metal bowls on the counter. I have no idea where the tzatziki came from; it must have come from somewhere in the back room. Hopefully, at least that was chilled. The spoon, with a bit of tzatziki on it, was lying on the dirty counter at the front. The staff were working with their hands, which had just been used to smoke outside and wipe sweat from their foreheads. Hygiene seems to be a problem here. My request for the gyros pita without salad and cabbage was met with a slightly cynical "Yeah, if you say so." Overall, the food definitely wasn't bad, but there are many other areas, especially hygiene, that definitely need improvement. A surprise inspection by the health department would otherwise be very unpleasant.

The rooms are clean. Warm. Don't get a ground-floor room. It's quiet. There's a small pond in the back. It's an old building.

You don't even get a notification when you have made a reservation and the restaurant is closed. We were standing in front of the door with a lot of people. They also had our number. Really sad.

We visited Waldfrieden for the first time today, and certainly not the last. The food was delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere was cozy with a wood-burning stove. The service was friendly and attentive. The price was reasonable, and the portions were large and generous.

We had the pleasure of enjoying the four-course surprise menu. I won't spoil the surprise for anyone. But I can say it was incredibly delicious, and there were some incredibly interesting combinations that I—at least—would never have thought of trying! 😋 Everything was fantastic. From the friendly service and the ambiance to the truly amazing and exciting culinary delights! Definitely recommended!!
