I tried a somewhat hidden snack bar today. The gyro skewer was almost empty, and the meat was relatively dry. The flavor was okay, though, thanks to the seasoning. Pita wasn't rolled up as described on the menu, but served in bread, which tasted very sweet and somehow didn't quite fit. Salads and onions were sitting unrefrigerated in metal bowls on the counter. I don't know where the tzatziki came from—somewhere in the back, but hopefully that was at least refrigerated. The spoon, with some tzatziki on it, was sitting on the dirty counter at the front. The food was being worked with hands, where previously people had been smoking outside and wiping sweat from their foreheads. Unfortunately, hygiene seems to be a problem here. My request for the gyro pita without salad and cabbage was met with a slightly cynical "Yes, if you say so." Overall, the food was definitely not bad, but many other aspects, especially hygiene, definitely need to be improved. A surprise inspection by the health department would otherwise be very unpleasant.

We ended up at the Kaisermühle because our campervan broke down. On the positive side, the booking was quick and easy. However, the fact that they are closed on Sunday was inconvenient for us as we were unfamiliar with the place. We had to walk 2.5 km to the car dealership each night, and we ended up in two different rooms for two nights. The staff's German was very poor, which is a shame. We definitely won't be staying there again.

You don't even get a notification when you have made a reservation and the restaurant is closed. We were standing in front of the door with a lot of people. They also had our number. Really sad.

We visited Waldfrieden for the first time today, and certainly not the last. The food was delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere was cozy with a wood-burning stove. The service was friendly and attentive. The price was reasonable, and the portions were large and generous.

We had the pleasure of enjoying the four-course surprise menu. I won't spoil the surprise for anyone. But I can say it was incredibly delicious, and there were some incredibly interesting combinations that I—at least I—would never have thought of combining and trying 😋 Everything was fantastic. From the friendly service to the ambiance to the truly amazing and exciting delicacies! Definitely a recommendation!
