Inn of Horror! Stairs that are much too steep (unsuitable for older people). You couldn't use the towels. Bedding old and dingy. Unfortunately, hygiene is not very important here. For 20€ a night it would be ok but the price-performance ratio is absolutely overpriced. Not recommended!!!! 1 time and never again.

The beer garden is a jewel in Viersen. Pure peace. We felt very comfortable.

I was just in the beer garden and ate a salad. It was completely okay in terms of price-performance. I can't say anything about the rooms. But the beer garden is very nice!

Unfortunately, the employee at the reception was not willing to help and was only on his cell phone and laptop. As an older couple, we asked the taxi driver to carry our suitcases up the narrow stairs on the last floor

Our room was very run down, partly not clean and absolutely not up to date. There was some mold in the bathroom and overall it seemed very unkempt. If you opened the closet doors in the bedroom, you could see that the walls were completely damaged (the minibar was apparently torn out). The refrigerator, which was carelessly placed on the floor, was unfortunately not very clean either. Overall the hotel has a great location and picturesque surroundings. However, a complete renovation is absolutely necessary!

Addendum to my first statement: Unfortunately, the new operators have learned nothing. The building and the once beautiful surroundings are becoming an eyesore. A towel has been rotting on the roof for months, apparently someone threw it out of a skylight. The weeds have been sprouting for months, no matter where you look. The flower boxes are “weed boxes”. There are hundreds of cigarette butts on the sidewalk, which hotel guests probably throw outside while smoking in their rooms at night. All the windows are covered in green and disgusting, so no one wants to imagine what the restaurant looks like. None of this corresponds in any way to the expectations of a well-kept hotel and restaurant business in the once beautiful Kaisermühle. A boss is missing here to restore order. It's a shame and annoying for all citizens of Viersen. -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------- I would like to express myself constructively here, as this is the only way to help those affected, instead of just portraying everything negatively, which usually has a damaging effect on business. First of all, it is very positive that the Kaiseremühle is being used again after months of “rest”. We, who live in the neighborhood, noticed the new opening by chance. When suddenly there was a small menu on the noticeboard again, with the note "Opening offer minus 20%". Whether this is effective as advertising remains to be seen, but a report or an advertisement in the daily newspaper, a website or at least the distribution of flyers in the neighboring streets would certainly have been more effective. The Kaisermühle parking lot is unkempt, the signage is old and damaged, and now serves as a scrapyard for 2 cars without license plates. Well, the terrace under the old trees had been cleaned and equipped with new restaurant umbrellas. In the summer we went with friends for a test meal on the terrace in the once beautiful outdoor area at the Mühlrad. The food was mediocre with a tendency towards higher prices. I'll save myself more here, but it can all be done much better. But what wasn't right at all was the atmosphere that you would expect in a modern location on the occasion of an opening. The tables are old and some with broken table tops, no table decorations, no seat cushions on the old chairs, not to mention a positive surprise for the first guests on the occasion of a restaurant opening. We were only there once, but our impression was unfortunately confirmed by the opinions of other guests. It's a shame - the operators should actually be offered help so that the Kaisermühle can get going again. I keep my fingers crossed for everyone involved.

The house and the surrounding area are wonderfully beautiful and quiet. You can see the building's former golden age. But as it is, ownership obliges and the rooms should be brought up to date. It would be a great shame for the property. The price-performance ratio fits in my opinion. currently not at all up to par.

We were there today for the first time in years. The service was very friendly. The food is rather expensive, but the price-performance ratio is right. From calamari, carpacchio, pasta, to fried beef liver and also the Black Angus fillet, everything was top. We can only say good things and will come back.

Just wanted to go out to eat... as great as the restaurant is, the staff is so unfriendly and rude. As soon as the seat was allocated, you lost your temper - the tone was very bad! In addition, they didn't take part in the current edition of the book "Enjoyment Points 2024" - due to a change in boss a month ago (original sound). But all in one way... CONCLUSION: left without ordering or eating anything! You should NOT work in the hospitality industry with this unfriendly attitude

We had dinner there today. The food is fantastic. The chef can cook incredibly well. The potatoes have such a delicious taste and aroma. I can warmly recommend it. :)

It was a total disaster The really only positive thing... the chef is fantastic. The service was terrible. We had reserved a table for 7 p.m. We were a larger group. The first ones left hungry at 10 p.m. because their children were tired. We got the food after 10 p.m. and the rest half an hour later. The side salad was served after you had already eaten, but what is important... and most importantly, the food was great! ! ! The wait was worth it

When we read the menu in the now reopened restaurant, we decided to reserve a table for the weekend. When we got there (there was no menu left in the box), we only received one menu for the two of us. What was previously in the box with middle-class prices was no longer up to date; there was only a small, clear menu with relatively high prices. We ordered a beer, but it was "tapped" from the bottle at the bar. Is that even allowed? That was the second disappointment. It was bitterly cold in the restaurant and we had to zip up our jackets. The food came and unfortunately it was appropriate for the local temperature, i.e. not hot. We don't want to comment negatively on the quality here. When one had finished his meal and the other was still eating, the plate had already been cleared away. I hardly believe that the restaurant has a future under these circumstances. It's a shame, we were really looking forward to the opening of the Viersen parlour. ,

This is a restaurant next to hotel nice put together. I hope it develops its own eating style~"The smell of wine is not afraid of the long journey..." I hope it will get better and better in 2024!!

Auch wenn der Charme der alten Tage langsam verblasst, das Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich, das Essen gut und die Zimmer haben das gewisse Etwas. Alles ist sauber und ordentlich

A fuir Hotel dégoûtant. Qui est dans son jus...des années 80...Est encore . Cher....dégoûtant.. Pas de petit déjeuner. Jamais vu un hôtel aussi glauque.

Tolles, gemütliches Zimmer, super nettes Personal und leckeres Essen!!

Wir wollten gerne das Essen unter neuer Leitung der Kaisermühle testen und waren sehr überrascht. Die Speiskarte liest sich zwar etwas langweilig, die Portionen sind nicht besonders groß (was mich nicht gestört hat, da ich nach dem Essen noch laufen konnte 😅) - aber das Wichtigste: Das Essen war wirklich fantastisch! 😋 Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Überraschend toll. Wir hatten ein schönes Zimmer (no. 10). Sehr freundlich und dazu noch schön an einem kleinen See gelegen. Faire Preise - gerne wieder

Die Kaisermühle hat am März 2023 unter wieder neuen Pächtern neu eröffnet. Es gab Renovierungsarbeiten und nun ein italienisches Restaurant. Das sollte Beachtung bei der Bewertung finden.

Das Hotel ist günstig zur Autobahn, aber leider gerade im Betreiberwechsel. Zum Schlafen war es gut, alles andere war nicht vorhanden...

Tja, wie drücke ich mich aus? Für Liebhaber von Auslegeware aus den 1980'ern ist das hier der perfekte Ort. Teppich findet man hier bis ins Badezimmer. Die komplette Einrichtung ist wohl seit 30 Jahren nicht modernisiert worden. Ansich kein Problem, aber dann sollte man das auch pflegen. Die Gerüche bestätigen unseren ersten Eindruck. Wir hatten leider die Gelegenheit mehrere Zimmer in Augenschein nehmen zu dürfen/müssen. Das erste war nicht gereinigt worden, das zweite entsprach nicht unserer Buchung. Das dritte haben wir dann bezogen, weil wir keine Lust mehr hatten und es auch schon spät war. Der junge Mann an der Rezeption (2 Esstische in unterschiedlicher Höhe aneinandergestellt) war total überfordert. Das Gebäude an sich und der angrenzende Park sind klasse. Das war es dann aber auch schon. Fazit: Nee! Da buchen wir nicht noch einmal. Viersen hat etliche Sehenswürdigkeiten. Die Kaisermühle gehört nicht (mehr) dazu.

Ein 700 Jahre altes Gebäude.....Historisch

This establishment is truly disgusting and not worthy of the words 'Hotel & Gasthof'. One of the beds in my room (room 12) was slept in, unmade and dirty. The carpets everywhere had muddy footprints from a previous guest. When I returned to reception later in the evening there were no staff members present so I had to sleep in the second bed in my room. Sleep was disturbed twice during the night by somebody trying to enter my locked room. From that time I did not sleep at all. There were no staff on the premises until 11:00 the following morning. he whole place is tired, worn out and dirty. My subsequent complaint by email has not received a meaningful response and overall the customer service experienced here is non-existent. I have made a formal dispute/complaint with Booking dot Com. I am a frequent traveller, staying in many different places each year and this is by far the worst I have ever experienced. It should be condemned and closed.

Unterster Standard. Zimmer eiskalt, Fernseher ohne Empfang, Radio defekt, Dusche lauwarm bis kalt, Treppe sehr steil und wenig nur wenig beleuchtet. Nicht empfehlenswert!

Sehr netter und aufmerksamer Service. Dazu einfach leckeres Essen für einen angemessenen Preis.

Hotel ist sauber und die Schlüsselübergabe hat einwandfrei funktioniert. Dennoch sind insbesondere die Hotelzimmer etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Eine bessere Beleuchtung (es ist einfach zu dunkel) und eine Dusche (statt Badewanne) wäre wünschenswert.

Hatte hier ein Zimmer für eine Nacht. Das Hotel liegt ruhig in einem Wohngebiet, schön neben einem großen Teich. Schlüsselübergabe ging problemlos per Schlüsselsafe (ausführliche Anleitung per Mail im Vorfeld), da Restaurant und Empfang bei Anreise geschlossen waren. Das Zimmer war rustikal und gemütlich eingerichtet. Das Bad recht klein und die Badewanne/Dusche unter einer deutlichen Dachschräge, was die Benutzung zur Herausforderung machte. Wegen geringer Belegung gab es statt Büffet einen gedeckten Frühstückstisch, auch mal wieder schön :-). Insgesamt hat mir der kurze Aufenthalt gefallen. Der Preis ist nicht gering, aber ok. Gibt eben nicht so viel Alternativen in der Umgebung.

Leider nicht weiter zu empfehlen. Das Zimmer war nachts Sehr kalt und die Spinnen haben uns aus den Ecken beim Schlafen beobachtet. Der Stiel des Hotels ist zwar Rustikal jedoch gibt es gepflegt Rustikal wie man es sich in einem Gasthof wünscht, leider empfinden wir die Hotel Zimmer nicht unbedingt gut Gepflegt. Die Matratzen sind ziemlich hart und nicht jedermanns Sache. Eine Elektroheizung stand übrigens in dem Zimmer jedoch funktioniert diese leider nicht. Preis Leistung ungenügend!

Guter Gasthof, sauberes, grosses Zimmer ( Nr. 3 ) mit großem Bad und Badewanne im "Neben Gebäude" Restaurant war geschlossen, aber in der Nähe gab es genug Möglichkeiten.

Overnacht in het hotel; ruime en schone kamer. Eten in het restaurant smaakvol en leuk opgediend. Bediening was professioneel en erg vriendelijk.

Very nice restaurant "novelle cousine style" in an ancient mill. Revisited tipical German dishes coocked very well but there is not many choices. Waiters are very kind, prices are very high. Suitable for couples, not for families with children.

Wir haben per Internet reserviert und eine sehr nette Bestätigung erhalten. Das Ambiente, die Sauberkeit und der freundliche Empfang machen einen sehr guten Eindruck. Aber dann. Getränke werden abgefragt, noch bevor überhaupt eine Karte am Tisch ist. Der Wein, den wir „blind“ bestellen ist in Ordnung. Das „Knusper-Panko-Schweinefilet, gebratene Pilze der Saison, Bratkartoffeln & Beilagen Salat für 21,90€“ erweist sich als ein kleines Schnitzel, zu kräftig paniert und durchgebraten. Der Salat ist lecker, die Bratkartoffeln zu salzig, die Pilze der Saison (nur Champignons) sind geschmacklich sehr gut und super zubereitet, aber auch sehr wenig. Eine pure Zumutung ist das „Ragout von der Gänsekeule mit Maronen-Veloute, gebratenem Kloß, Apfelrotkohl & Orangen-Confit für 26,90€“. Ein kleines Porzellanschälchen mit vielleicht drei Esslöffeln Ragout steht auf einem Teller in einer Pfütze aus Rotkohl. Das Ragout ist völlig „kaputtgekocht“ und lässt geschmacklich weder die Gänsekeule noch die angeblichen Maronen ahnen. Der Apfelrotkohl kommt eindeutig aus der Konserve, ist breiig und konsistenzlos, fade im Geschmack und offensichtlich nach dem wiederholten Aufwärmen noch mit Mehl gebunden worden. Eine Gabel probiere ich – mehr geht garnicht. Statt gebratenem Kloß habe ich Sahnekartoffeln bestellt. Ja, es sind tatsächlich gewürfelte Salzkartoffeln, die man mit etwas Sahne übergossen und im Ofen erhitzt hat. Je eine Prise Salz und Pfeffer, etwas Muskat, ein Hauch Knoblauch vielleicht und ein paar Krümel Käse hätten dieser Beilage bestimmt gut getan, wenn man sie dann noch ordentlich überbacken hätte. Vielleicht kann ja ein Dessert den Abend retten?! Die geeiste Zabaione ist o.k. Die Streusel obenauf schmecken ein wenig nach Küche, stehen warscheinlich in der Nähe des Herdes in einem offenen Gefäß. Die Pflaumen sind gut. Ja, es wurde angeboten ein anderes Gericht zu servieren aber zu dem Zeitpunkt haben wir schon keine Lust mehr. Trotz unserer deutlich geäusserten Kritik, versucht man nicht einmal, die Stimmung mit einem Café oder einem Absacker zu retten. Wir gehen zum Preis von 83,50 € für zwei Personen hungrig und unzufrieden nach Hause....

Hier ist noch ein Ort wo man in einem schönen Ambiente entspannen kann. Essen und Getränke werden freundlich serviert an der Qualität von Speisen und Getränken gab es nichts auszusetzen gerne wieder

Heute war ich zum ersten Mal bei den neuen Pächtern. Die Karte ist genau richtig, alles wird frisch zubereitet. Die Gänge sind für mich prima in der Grösse, heute habe ich nach der fabelhaften Mahlzeit auch noch eine Zitronentarte genossen. Die Wirtsleute sind auf den Punkt, höflich, zuvorkommend und sehr sympathisch. Da werde ich öfter hin gehen!

The interior of the restaurant is traditional and quite pleasantly furnished. We were warmly welcomed by the service. We didn't have to wait long for the drinks and the menu. The food came in a reasonable time. Unfortunately the meat was not evenly warm, which also applied to the side dishes. Moreover, one of the portions served was quite small, and therefore the price was a bit too high. A free coffee was offered to make up for this. If you read the other reviews, you have to assume that the problem with the food was an exception.

Spontan entschieden, gemütlich Abendessen zu gehen und seit langer Zeit einmal wieder in der Kaiserrmühle eingekehrt. Sehr freundlicher und herzlicher Service, sehr gemütliche Einrichtung und eine ordentliche Speisekarte ohne Chi-chi, die nicht enttäuscht. Rundum schönes Abendessen.

Wir hatten Lachs mit Bratkartoffeln und eine Vorspeise. Das Essen hat sehr frisch geschmeckt. Gewürze waren sehr perfekt dosiert.

Gerne wieder :) essen und Service waren top. Auch bei Extrawürsten gab es keinerlei Abstände. Der Preis ist der Qualität entsprechend angemessen. Letzter Besuch: 24.6.18

We have had dinner here twice this week. Both very good meals. German fare well prepared and presented. Staff are very friendly especially Freddie. Would come here again.

One of the best restaurants in town. Excellent food and efficient, friendly service in a lovely refurbished old mill.
