Great ambience, very good service and delicious food. Top local!

I found the seating far too narrow and the table far too small. I felt a bit depressed in the back of the restaurant. I found it very uncomfortable, especially if you took the mixed starter and that meant there were more plates on the table. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the food. The mixed starter plate consisted mainly of pastes, which in my opinion doesn't justify the price. (If you go, I recommend you get real appetizers and share them with each other.) My grill plate was clearly on the grill for too long. I found every piece of meat to be way too tough and way too well done and it mainly tasted burnt. The gyro, on the other hand, wasn't cooked through enough and I found it had little taste. I would not recommend this restaurant.

You can't see it from outside, but it's a very nice atmosphere, only espresso is advised to drink, it's no espresso, more black tea, advice for owners, Investing in 1 real Italian espresso machine, it's worth it

Absolutely lovely! I got the gyro pita, which came with a salad, potato wedges, and an absolutely delicious tzatziki sauce. The servers were very friendly and quick — my food was out in a matter of minutes. I really enjoyed the complementary ouzo and schnapps. For my whole dinner, I ended up paying only €22 (dinner, drinks, and dessert), which is a very fair if not cheap price for the level of service and food! Will be coming back :)

Quaint, rustic restaurant. There is still the salt from Greece on the table. Decent portions, great taste and fair price. What more could you want! I'd love to come back again and again!

We had dinner at Tou Bakali a few weeks ago and it was a perfect evening. We were greeted very friendly and were given 2 ouzu as a welcome. The food tasted very good. The guys who served us were all extremely friendly and in a good mood. The prices are absolutely reasonable. The restaurant is comfortably furnished, so you can sit there a little longer. We really enjoyed it and we'll be back soon.

I ordered delivery with my wife today, unfortunately we're both feeling pretty bad now and can barely get out of the toilet! The bifteki was ok, the side dishes were puny! And the beetroot salad is a joke, it's a beetroot from a jar for 0.90 cents and has some garlic oil on top!! That's not possible so I won't order again and won't recommend you and thank you for the stomach problems!!!

Really tasty dishes and nice atmosphere. As soon as we sat down at the table, they brought us a welcome drink. The child was given a children's coloring menu and a pencil case with pencils. The food portions are large and each dish comes with a salad. During the meal we were treated to a second drink, which was different from the first. And when we asked for the bill, we received the third, most delicious “farewell” drink. On Sunday around 18:00 there was no problem sitting down to a table of four without a reservation.

We had gyros with baby calamari and potato wedges. The gyro was very crispy and yet not dry. The calamari here is always very tender. The team is super friendly and attentive.

I'm happy to give five stars. I've been to Tou Bakali in Laim a few times and have always been very satisfied. The food is delicious, the menu offers a wide selection. The portions are very decent. The service is friendly and, above all, very child-friendly, which unfortunately cannot be said about all restaurants these days. I like the decor, cozy with atmosphere. The prices are absolutely okay considering the quality offered and the portion sizes.

I've been coming back for years. Orders are often placed during Corona times. What can I say... Not even disappointed. The food is excellent, the portions are huge, there is always ouzo on site, the staff is always attentive and in a good mood, the atmosphere is excellent and the prices are good for current Munich standards. I'm already looking forward to the next visit... Yamas!!! ☺️

If you have eaten here, you will judge every other Greek restaurant against Tou Bakali and every other Greek restaurant will come up short. Just great!!!

The order consisted of a Gyros Pita for €16.20 and Souvlaki Kotopoulo for €17.70. **Gyros Pita:** Originally I thought it would be a classic pita bread with fries, similar to a kebab. Instead, the dish came in a bowl with pita bread, gyro meat and a salad. Unfortunately, the meat was a bit dry and the fried potatoes weren't really crispy, they were rather weak and not well done. **Souvlaki Kotopoulo:** The souvlaki was very good. The meat was tender and well cooked. The onions were sliced ​​a little too thin, so I would have preferred them a little thicker. The bread was great, but unfortunately the rice was overcooked and had no taste whatsoever. Unfortunately, the sauce over the rice couldn't save it. Dining at Tou Bakali begins with a welcome shot of their local aperitivo. We ordered their mixed appetisers for 2 people (Ouzo therapie), a tomato soup that was (a little) spicy and melinzanes (aubergines filled with cheese). We soon realised that we had ordered too much food as we were almost full after the appetisers :). Anyway, for our main course we tried the gyros pita, rolakia, souvlaki metaxa and bifteki classico. Even though we were already full, we needed to try their baklava which we didn't regret. There was a confusion with our order and in the end they brought us musaka instead of rolakia so we advise you to tell them the numbers written at the front of the dish. The cost was around 170 € for 4 people including 3 appetisers, 5 main courses, 2 desserts and drinks. The staff was very friendly, like true Greeks :). Recommended.

I absolutely adore this place. I come here during lunch breaks with my manager and every time we are not only happy with the food but with everything else you can expect from a restaurant. The place itself has such a nice design, and I am looking forward to being here in summer and outside in their little beer garden area.

For me, the restaurant is nicely decorated in a typical local style and the food is good. We just couldn't warm up to the young waitress. Otherwise, the service was good and the waitresses served up small snacks several times. Not bad on the house either. All in all, it was a pleasant evening in a small group.

Our food was extremely tasty, the portions were very big, we packed the rest and had it for lunch the next day. The food comes with salad. They also welcome you with a shot of ouzo and keep giving you free extra shots throughout the meal. A hospitable place. I definitely recommend you to go

The restaurant's interior is very cosy and really close to an actual Greek restaurant. When it comes to the most important aspect of a restaurant which is always food, we were more than satisfied. Had dinner there with my son-in-law on Friday, February 23rd, 2024. We came from Koblenz and were hungry. When we went into the restaurant we were asked if we had made a reservation, which of course we hadn't. But we still got a table. We would have had to leave by 7 p.m. But they had already left beforehand. It was great that we were able to stay without a reservation. The food was simply super good and the side salad was, thank God, not with olive oil but with balsamic vinegar. In between there was always a little schnapps. Had minced meat rolls stuffed with feta cheese, minced meat stuffed with feta cheese and GYROS. Plus potato wedges and tzatziki. An incredibly large portion that would have fed two people with one plate. The meat was super good, the potato wedges were super crispy. The tzatziki was the best I've ever eaten. The price of I think 21 euros per plate was absolutely acceptable. If we are in Munich again, we will definitely make a reservation in advance and eat there again. Not a long wait for the food either. Can only highly recommend this restaurant.

I personally haven't been to a better Greek restaurant in Germany. The service is always quick and courteous and always up for a joke. The food is high quality, tastes excellent and the portions are too big rather than too small. They are also very generous with the ouzo. Since we discovered the restaurant a year ago, we have been coming in regularly for dinner and have never been disappointed. We always go home full and happy and always look forward to our next visit. Keep it up! :-)

This Greek restaurant is one of the hidden gems in Munich/Laim I came to dinner as an individual. You were welcomed with open arms, as if you were part of the family or a regular guest. A candle was immediately lit and you were asked if you could get a small schnapps (all included in the price). The selection is huge and super diverse. Nowhere else will you be able to eat such extensive Greek food. The design and size of the restaurant is atmospheric and first class! The food was really first class, with large portions! Restaurants often limit their portions, but sometimes forget that there are people who can be really hungry. This restaurant is perfect for that! I had a kind of casserole with lamb, which was accompanied by a nice salad with crispy fried potatoes! There was also another ouzo! I had already eaten a roll beforehand and therefore had a bit too much. The staff noticed this (they are very attentive and want you to have a great evening) and gave me the rest when I told them that I was taking the train to my home country that night! Very good experience, good variety of food and service in general, very fast. The restaurant is very pleasant and decorated, and the food is very tasty and has a good variety of dishes. We ordered a Greek orange cake for dessert, which was very different and delicious. We definitely recommend making a reservation or arriving early.
