Greek Stüberl - Griechisches Restaurant Haidhausen in München

I visited this restaurant today with my family. At first was a bit skeptical about the food and service but to my surprise both were outstanding. Since we speak very little German the lady who was serving us was very kind and helpful. The food was awesome and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I recently moved here. I've been there several times and each time I've been surprised at how good the Greek cuisine tastes here. Had Gyros Metaxa gratinated today, tasted just as it should. Service is very friendly and attentive. I'll definitely come back more often. Keep it up 👍

I can't stress enough how amazing this place is. It's family-owned, and you will certainly feel that in their great customer service. They have an extensive menu, with both fresh meat and fish, and other greek classics. They usually have a Tageskarte so you can get a friendly price for lunch if you work nearby. As for the food itself- it's amazing. Big portions and really good flavors. And to top it off, they sometimes will offer you a free dessert and Ouzo 🙏

A great restaurant with authentic decor, atmosphere and Greek food. The service is fast, but I advise you to reserve a table, as even on a weekday evening many tables were occupied. The food is very tasty. A definite recommendation.

Beautiful place, I went with some friends, we had a lot of fun and we ate a lot and we didn't spend much, the waiters were very kind and courteous and the food was very good. If I find myself in Munich again I will gladly go there again

A very nice and authentic restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The quality of the food is very good, the moussaka is highly recommended.

I was there for the second time today after a visit to the beer garden in the summer, which left a convincing impression. Inside, the style doesn't quite suit my taste with a lot of pine wood. What I found much more annoying was that all the other guests except me were offered an ouzo and that no one said "goodbye" on the way out. Likewise, one of the two waiters, who were clearly discussing organizational matters while standing right next to my table, could have asked me, given the empty plate on the table, whether I had another wish, instead of disappearing wordlessly towards the kitchen after the conversation . It's a shame, because the food itself wasn't bad.

If we didn't live 200 km away, it would be one of our favorite restaurants. Great food and great service.

The service is really great. A plus point: For the main courses you can choose between fries, rice and fried potatoes at no extra charge. Where else is that!? We will definitely come back.

We turned up on a busy Thursday evening with no reservation but they squeezed us in and we had a delicious meal. Fresh, tasty and healthy food, really authentic. Despite the language barrier we had very friendly and charming service. A great find.

Aperitif, grill plate and dessert were excellent. The Metaxa and Greek coffee to counteract the food coma are also highly recommended here. The service was warm and personal, we felt very comfortable.

A real insider tip. It's a bit away from public transport but it's worth it. The appetizer platter was huge and there was nothing that didn't taste great. The four of us shared two main courses so that we also had room for dessert. Very tasty gyros and lamb. We'd love to come back

Great experience at Greek Stuberl, we didn’t speak German & Maria had limited English but she looked after us so well! Really nice setting & good food. Loved the little extra touches like a shot of ouzo & panacotta on the house. Check it out if you’re in the neighbourhood! 2 Aussies abroad.

Really awesome place. Staff was really attentive and friendly. The food was awesome. Every dish we tried was 9/10. Lamb was the best one. Desserts were perfect, 10/10. Creme Brulé and Baklava were awesome. The coffee tasted good and wasn't burn... It was a 5* experience all around. I'll be back for sure!

Due to the very good reviews, the two of us visited the restaurant. The map shows average pricing for this type of Munich restaurant. The choice of food fell on the calamari gyros with rice and a side salad and Gyros Metaxa with French fries and a side salad. The drinks arrived in normal time, given the number of visitors. It then took some time before the two side salads were served. Immediately after we started eating these, the hot dishes also arrived. The mixed plate consisted of a lemon quarter, 4 coats of baby calamari and a large portion of gyros. Tzatziki wasn't there, so this was a bit of a dry affair. The Metaxa gyros was a sufficient portion, but the taste of the sauce was very neutral. The French fries were these giant bars that were more reminiscent of finger noodles. The seasoning for this was just a touch of table salt. Although still justifiable, the time until payment was possible was not very short. My conclusion: filling and no harm to health, not recommended.

Great place and awesome food. We stumbled in this restaurant and we loved it. It is situated in a calm residential neighbourhood, it has a gorgeous tree shade, great for a hot summer day. We ate gyros and souvlaki, both were delicious and the portion size is really big.

It was actually an emergency solution because nothing else was open in the area. But it was worth it. Service was nice, unfortunately only one waiter, so everything took a while. But super sweet! Beer garden was nicely decorated. Smokers at the next table forced us to change. But luckily there were places without ashtrays. We had to wait a while for the food, but it was worth it. That was the best gyros and wonderfully juicy souvlaki. The fries perfectly hot and crispy without swimming in grease. Huge portion. It was full, but it didn't seem stressed and was a good end to a sunny, crowded day in Munich city. The reviews here with over 4.9 stars can only be confirmed. Here people still cook and serve with passion. And the quality of the meat was A1. There are also places for wheelchair users outside, which I found very nice.

The best gyros in Munich! Exactly how it should be. Nice and crispy fried for EVERY portion! Plus very tasty fries. Calamaries were good too. And the starter plate was generous and delicious. Normally priced. Greek imiglykos was good too. Ambiance, nothing special but enough for food. Service was good, friendly staff. I'd love to come back.

A great Greek. Great food and the prices are absolutely right. When paying we also got an ouzo and a bedside table on the house. Very child-loving staff. We sat outside in the beer garden, super nice! We would come back at any time.

Yeh, a long time ago it was a Bavarian restaurant, then a rather mediocre Greek restaurant. Today we tried out the NEW host, also a Greek. Wow, we were both more than pleasantly surprised. Cozy atmosphere, super clean, friendly, almost family welcome. (The place was full!) Drinks were quick and well-kept. Then the food, to try, moussaka, perfect, gyros with octopus really good! Super friendly service, all in all a recommendation!

I liked everything about this place but the highlights were the staff. Super friendly nice people, especially Maria💜 I'm no expert in Greek food but everything was delicious and I liked it. I will definitely go there again.

Bavarian decor but Greek cuisine. The food is great, the portions are large and it tastes good. But the waitress goes down to the cellar to laugh or leaves her friendliness at home (but she wasn't unfriendly). You can also sit outside. Everything is ok in terms of price. Card payment possible.

Delicious Greek cuisine! Tasty octopus leg paired with a fresh salad and creamy hummus. Authentic flavors and generous portions. Warm atmosphere and friendly service. Serves the lokal Paulaner beer to accompany the great food. Pleasantly surprised by the shot of Ouzo offered at the end of the meal which was a fast digestive. A must-visit for seafood and Greek food lovers!

Stüberl does it very well. I didn't have the Greek feeling. The meat duet was very good, perhaps too filling. The gyro was wonderfully crispy. The fries were OK. The waitress took good care of us.

The restaurant is very homely and invites you to sit together in a cozy atmosphere. This is supported by the attentive staff, who are on hand with wit and charm and quickly fulfill your wishes.
