Chic hotel, great rooms, great restaurant. Underground parking is opposite. With a bit of luck you can park briefly in front of the hotel, but then you have to immediately go to an external garage.

Cozy inner square. Delicious food. Snobby staff.

Place to go. Everything is just right here. But don't miss the roof terrace. Fantastic views and a great bar.

I stayed at Tortue for 3 days. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the beautiful design of the hotel. In February I was at the 4 Seasons and I have to say that the Tortue did better for me in comparison. The restaurants are also highly recommended and if you appreciate a good drink, the petite Tortue is in good hands. I would love to come back on my next stay in Hamburg.

Anyway, it's the best hotel. Our most recommended hotel in Hamburg. The Inner Alster Lake, the Opera House, and the City Hall are all within walking distance, and the warehouse district is also conveniently within walking distance. The surrounding environment is very quiet and calm. The room was perfectly appointed and was thoroughly cleaned every day. I was grateful for the all-you-can-drink soft drinks. Personally, I liked the sweet smell of the fragrance as I walked down the hallway. If the weather is nice, I think it would be nice to have a drink or have lunch on the rooftop. It was nice that you could buy accessories for the room online if you liked them. The only drawbacks are the lack of room slippers and Bluetooth speakers. I thought it would be great to be able to listen to music with good acoustics in this space. All of the amenities at this hotel are from original brands, and I thought they were doing their best to go beyond just lodging and make sure their guests had the best possible stay. If I ever go to Hamburg again, I would definitely stay there again.

Waw! Food, service and ambience is amazing

Our favorite hotel in Hamburg. We visit the Tortue every year and it is always GORGEOUS. The rooms are all very detailed and very cozy thanks to the French charm. However, the highlight remains the breakfast! The á la carte breakfast offers only the best quality and is anything but 0-8-15. We can only recommend the Tortue to everyone and are looking forward to being guests again in August.

A very beautiful and expensive hotel, just the way I like it. Nice room, comfortable bed. They take the car keys to park (we have a Tesla) and bring the suitcases. But… We speak English poorly and for some reason this fact prevents the staff from being friendly. And at the reception during check-in and check-out, and in the restaurant, when they asked for coffee to go... And it just ruined everything :(((

The Tortue in Hamburg is one of the best hotels I've ever been to. It is very well connected by both the S-Bahn and the bus and is centrally located. The hotel is extremely attractive and I didn't have a single complaint about it. The service is first class: the staff offered to bring the luggage to the room and also asked if the car should be parked. I was also extremely satisfied with the hotel room – I would come back at any time. Breakfast is cheaper if you book it a day in advance. It was also excellent: not a typical buffet, but you can order all kinds of dishes from the menu and as much as you want. For me the Tortue is a smooth 5/5.

We got the last table of the evening and were even able to move to the kitchen BAR. We really liked that. The contact with the Brigarde was really cool. The food, from the starter to the main course to the dessert, was all of high quality and tasted delicious. We were served attentively, just like in the whole house. The reception, the chauffeur or the floor. Not to forget the BAR Noir. Great service. Many thanks to the entire Tortue team.

As someone who travels a lot and stays in different hotels, I can confidently say that the Tortue stands out. Check-in is always quick and easy, the rooms are of extremely high quality and the beds are a dream. The breakfast deserves a clear 10/10, the selection and quality are simply outstanding. The entire team at Tortue always goes the extra mile to not only satisfy their guests, but downright delight them. Every employee is courteous and attentive at all times. Wishes that you never even knew you had are fulfilled here. The Tortue Hamburg sets standards in all areas. I can highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

Enrichment for Hamburg's hotel landscape. Metro sophisticated style with attractive conference rooms and a well-stocked bar. The roof bar is a secret highlight. There is not only sun there from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. - when it shines in Hamburg - but also good drinks and snacks. And in tasteful botany and 1a sunset.

I have been in the house off and on since the Tortue opened in 2018(?) and have had varied experiences - of course at a high level and perhaps also because of the restrictions during the Corona period. In any case, my last stay at the hotel (two nights) was wonderful. From the very warm welcome to the fine a la carte breakfast to check-out, all touchpoints were super nice, pleasant and efficient. It should be emphasized that my room was sparkling clean and “like new”, which is important to me and is not always a given even in good houses. In the bathroom everything is aligned as if with a ruler, the labels of the shower gels etc. aligned in one direction every day, with an eye for the details - really great! The hotel can be easily reached from the airport without changing by public transport and is well located in the city. There is a great (partly hotel-owned) dining environment. Small caveat: the view from the window of the busy townhouse bridge is not very romantic. Nevertheless, the Tortue is a real recommendation.

Great hotel with a small weak point - tried a new hotel - it was nothing. Accidentally booked 2 rooms online on the website (mobile) - they were two flex rooms by double clicking. Well, bad luck. The fact that you are then charged a no-show rate of 100%, even though you take a room without the slightest kind of accommodation: Confusing and you are familiar with problems from other hotels in a slightly different way. Maybe the hotel and I don't fit together either, that may be the case and that's not a tragedy.

The Tortue is currently one of the hottest hotels/restaurants in Hamburg. In addition to outstanding Asian cuisine at Jin Gui, the most unusual breakfast in town is also served in the brasserie. We were particularly enthusiastic about the excellent tartines, e.g. B. with fresh crabs or eggs Benedict, all freshly prepared from the show kitchen in the middle of the room. Our children also felt wonderful - and were looked after very warmly by the whole team.

Super stylish hotel that skilfully mixes new and historical style elements. Despite the upscale atmosphere, the employees are relaxed and super friendly.

As pleasant my stay was, I must say the food at The Brasserie was surprisingly bad. My quiche was dry and awful and the size of a cookie. The room service food was bad, too. My mini hamburger sliders were dry as well (you would expect juicy and delicious meat!) and the fries overly salted. So they definitely need improvement in their kitchen!

Review is not about the hotel but it’s bar on the ground floow called “Barnoir” and cigar bar on the reception floor called “Barbleu”. The cocktails they serve in both bars ar always very delicious , really appreciate it. Barnoir is crowded on Saturdays so better get a reservation if you don’t want to wait for a table. Barbleu is also one of the nicest atmosphere for a cigar bar you can find.

A great hotel, with an outstanding breakfast. My room was adjacent to the inner courtyard and had a slightly higher volume level in the evening, as I was mostly out and about and it didn't bother me. I will certainly visit Tortue Hotel again.

Sensationally good food in the brasserie

cool club...almost a little too crowded. Bartenders are all great, attentive and quick. Cocktails price/performance nothing to complain about...we were even lucky enough to see Lothar Matthäus with a new flame at the counter 🤣🤣

The restaurants are all still stuck in the 80s. Vegetarian plates are almost non-existent and completely lacking in desire and creativity. Like overpriced restaurants do, they half-heartedly offer something with truffles because that's the only thing you can spend so much money on. Completely out of time.

We really enjoyed our stay and would have liked to have stayed longer. A big thank you also to the service team who surprised us with a small present in our room on the occasion of our engagement. With an excellent breakfast, it's very difficult to let go of TORTUE Hamburg. We will be back :)

We only spent one night here, but the experience was great. The rooms themselves are big and comfortable, the water pressure is great, and the staff was all nice. Breakfast was nice and varied including fresh and good ingredients.

I can really only recommend the breakfast. It's a bit more expensive, but in terms of quality and taste it's a straight A with stars.

I recently encountered a deeply unsatisfactory experience with the hotel reception desk, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. Our misstep in an online booking led us to choose the wrong date for our stay, prompting an immediate call to the reception desk for assistance. There was a room available for a new booking, but more expensive. Despite our willingness to pay for a more expensive room for the revised booking, the receptionist's lack of empathy was disheartening. What added to the frustration was the refusal to provide complimentary breakfast (or anything nice to soften our pain by our own mistake), even though we had paid for it in our original reservation, which we couldn't utilize due to the date error. She said it was their policy to just count all of it as a “no show’”, also the breakfast we didn’t attend. She couldn’t do anything for us in the new booking, which was very sad and disappointing. We were looking forward to experience Tortue, but didn’t feel understood or much welcome. To further illustrate our commitment to making amends, we had reservations at the hotel's Japanese restaurant, signaling our intent to spend additional money on their services. It is disconcerting that such a simple mistake on our part resulted in increased expenses and a noticeable lack of consideration from the staff. A lack of hospitality, which we are very keen on. Given our background in hospitality, we hoped for understanding to rebook, considering the challenges that can arise. We accepted our mistake and obviously paid for the not used night and breakfast, but something complimentary would have been amazing to upgrade our own disappointment. Being an accountmanager myself, I would have handled this differently to keep the customer, book another night and eat dinner in the restaurant. It would increase their wallet and satisfy the customer. Win win. We sincerely hope the hotel management addresses these issues, ensuring a more accommodating and customer-friendly atmosphere for future guests. Such oversights in customer service can significantly impact the overall perception of the hotel's quality and hospitality.

Very nice hotel, we have been regular customers here since it opened. Great service, unique location in the middle of the city. All shopping options within walking distance. Delicious food brasserie style!

Very good hotel with fantastic a la carte breakfast. This breakfast alone is worth a repeat visit. In addition, a very friendly staff team and spacious rooms. What was very disturbing, however, was the bathroom facilities and the lack of a proper shower - a hand shower in the bathtub is not acceptable for a hotel of this value and quality. The expectations were definitely different! It's a shame, because that spoils the overall picture (and prevents the 5th star).

I stayed in the hotel for 2 days. Good Points. 1. Positive attitude of staff. 2. Neat and clean. 3. Rooms are good. 4. Location is good. Points for Consideration. 1. A very small Central lobby. 2. The ambience is gloomy and dull. 3. Theme of the hotel is based on dark colours and dim light. It doesn't enhance your positivity. 4. Stay at the top floor is bit scary due to the design of the corridor. 5. Limited spread for breakfast. Overall value for money 5/10.

Mitte Oktober 2023 war ich erneut im Chez L'ami im Tortue Hotel in Hamburg. Martin Schmiedeberg und sein Team verzauberten mich auch dieses Mal mit exzellenten Service und leckeren Gerichten. Für Steak- und Weinliebhaber ist das Chez L'ami die Adresse um einen wunderschönen Abend zu verbringen. Die Tropfen aus den Magnumflaschen suchen seines Gleichen an der Alster. Und der Chefkoch und die gesamte Küchenbrigade überzeugten auch dieses Mal auf sehr hohem Niveau!

Wir waren Samstagabend im chez l‘ami und es war gigantisch!!! Wir haben das beste Tatar unseres Lebens gegessen, die Weinauswahl bzw -empfehlung war sehr gelungen und die Beilagen so gut, dass die Männer freiwillig Tomaten und Spargel nachgeordert haben. Martin Schmiedeberg und sein Team haben durch ihre Gastfreundschaft den Abend, neben dem hervorragenden Essen, auf ein nächstes Level gehoben!

Das kleine Restaurant ist Bestandteil der Tortue Familie und bietet lediglich ca 24 Personen Platz. Der Empfang sehr nett und aufmerksam. Die Atmosphäre, etwas sehr dunkel für ein Restaurant , offene kleine Küche. Das Konzept ist es wohl immer etwas mehr anzubieten. So gibt es nur Magnumflaschen oder einige Weine Glas weise. Das Entrecôte nur als Stück mit mindestens 1 Kilo hmmm, etwas viel für eine Person oder…. Nun wir wählten die Lammkeule für zwei und jeweils den Steinbutt. Auch die Vorspeisen sind üppig das muss bei den Preisen aber auch so sein. Die Speisen waren sehr ordentlich ohne nun aber eine Sterneniveau zu erreichen. Sterneniveau hat hier der Preis, denn mit 900€ für 4 Personen ist das schon ganz stattlich…

Wunschtisch bekommen, Personal sehr freundlich. Die Atmosphäre ist kuschelig düster, was grundsätzlich gemütlich ist, die Speisen auf dem Teller aber kaum erkennbar macht, da es, bis auf eine Kerze, kein Licht auf den Tischen gibt. Die Weinkarte besteht ausschließlich aus ca. 20 Flaschen, die nur als Magnumflaschen zu Preisen ab 150 Euro angeboten werden. Manche der Positionen auch glasweise.Meine Nachfrage, ob es auch normale Flaschengrößen gibt, wird höflich verneint. Insgesamt Bordeauxlastig, die meisten Weingüter mir eher unbekannt. Wir fangen an mit einem kleinen Bier, welches in einem kleinem Becher, der zu hälfte mit Schaum gefüllt ist, serviert wird. Optisch schön, aber als ca 150 cl einfach sehr klein für 5 Euro. Dazu bestellen wir eine stille Wasserflasche für 12 Euro, ein offenes Glas Châteauneuf-du-Pape für 26 Euro und ein Glas Champagner für 18 Euro. Vorab wird Sylter Brot von Gaues mit Butter und ein schmackhafter kleiner Salat als Gruss der Küche gereicht. Der Kellner zeigt uns ein ca 1,5 KG Steak am Tisch, welches man zu zweit bestellen kann ab Grössen von 1,2 KG. Uns zu groß heute.aber grundsätzlich reizvoll. Die Speisekarte enthält nur wenige Positionen. Ca. 4 Vorspeisen und 4 Hauptgerichte, was der Grösse des Restaurants mit ca 7 Tischen geschuldet ist. Als einzigster Fisch,Haptgang wird ein Steinbutt Kotelett für 79 Euro angeboten, was auch auf Nachfrage meinerseits, nicht für zwei, sondern eine Person angeboten wird. Wir teilen uns den Hauptgang und bekommen zwei nicht üppige, aber ausreichende Portionen. Die Qualität des Steinbutts ist in Ordnung, allerdings ist der Fisch leicht übergart und in den Filets finden sich noch einige große Gräten, die man uns bei fachgerechter Filettierung hätte ersparen können. Als Vorspeise nehmen wir 3 Argentinische, rote Garnelen, die recht klein, aber von der Qualität her einwandfrei sind und auf drei Scheiben einer seltenen, aromatischen Tomate angerichtet sind. Beträufelt mit einem wohlschmeckenden Jus. Insgesamt ein guter Teller. Wenn auch beschaulich von der Portionsgröße. Meine Begleitung bestellt die gebratene Fois gras ( 35) Euro, die auf einer flachen Brioche angerichtet ist. Die Fois gras ist von der Produktqualität eher ein TK Produkt, als frisch, aber schmackhaft angerichtet und gut gebraten. Vor dem Espresso bestellen wir uns jeweils eine ungarnierete Kugel Eis. Beide sind definitiv hausgemacht und handwerklich einwandfrei.Um kurz vor elf sind wir die letzten Gäste und da in der offenen Küche vor uns schon lautstark klar Schiff gemacht wird, verlassen wir das Restaurant mit ca 240 Euro auf der Rechnung plus Trinkgeld, eher, als uns lieb ist. Als wir auf dem Tresen eine 0,7 Flasche Tignanello erblicken, fragen wir erstaunt, wie es die Flasche ins Restaurant geschafft hat ? Der Kellner antwortet uns, daß man auch aus der Hotelkarte bestellen kann. Eine Info, die ich mir vor dem Essen gewünscht hätte. Nicht danach. Insgesamt bleibt ein etwas schaler Nachgeschmack, was das Gesamtkonzept betrifft. Ausschliesslich hochpreisige Magnumflaschen und hochpreisige Riesensteaks, Fleisch wie Fisch, finde ich nicht zeitgemäß und schrecken uns eher ab. Besonders unter dem Aspekt, daß sich nur wenige Positionen auf dem Menü befinden. Die Klimaanlage arbeitet zwar gut, sorgt aber für einen stetigen Durchzug, den wie als unangenehm empfanden . Innerhalb von 3 Stunden brannten so beachtliche 3 Kerzen an unserem Tisch ab. Wir werden wahrscheinlich nicht so schnell wiederkommen, das Chez Lámie aber als Location für Events im Hinterkopf behalten. Als Geburtstagslocation für ca. 20 Personen ist das Restaurant ideal, weil schöne Atmosphäre und intime Größe. Und wenn man das gesamte Restaurant mietet, lässt sich wahrscheinlich ein Menü abstimmen.

Besser geht es nicht - Service, Ambiente und vor allem die Küche setzen neue Maßstäbe in HH und Umland. Wer mit Zeit und Sinn für Genuss essen und trinken möchte kommt am Chez Ami nicht vorbei. Vielen lieben Dank dem gesamten Team für einen wundervollen Abend!

Das Chez l'ami ist meiner Meinung nach der neue Geheimtipp in der Hamburger Innenstadt. Ein kleines aber sehr gehobenes Restaurant mit ca. 24 Sitzplätzen. Aktuell hat es noch keinen Stern, (es hat jedoch auch erst im September eröffnet) es wird jedoch vermutlich nicht mehr lange dauern bis Michelin dieses Restaurant auszeichnet. Der Empfang durch den Restaurant Manager und seine Crew war von Beginn an sehr herzlich und offen aber dennoch sehr professionell. Eine offene Küche bietet dem größten Teil der Gäste einen guten Blick auf die Köche. Es gibt jedoch auch ein separee, in welchem man nach Wunsch sehr privat sitzt. (Durch die kleine Größe des Restaurants ist jedoch an jedem Platz eine private und exklusive Atmosphäre vorhanden) Den Gästen wird neben den sehr ansprechenden Gerichten auf der Karte noch eine Tagesempfehlung ausgesprochen und es besteht die Möglichkeit für Gäste wie uns (die jede Vorspeise ansprechend finden) einen "gedeckten Tisch" zu bestellen, sodass man von allem etwas probieren kann nach dem Prinzip "Sharing is caring". Zu jedem Gang gibt es eine passende Weinberatung und Empfehlung - hier stellt man eine große Passion und ein sehr großes Fachwissen des Restaurant Managers fest. Den ganzen Abend über hat die Crew sichergestellt, dass es uns an nichts fehlt und dass die Gäste stets glücklich sind. Ich werde dieses Restaurant definitiv weiter empfehlen und wieder besuchen.

Moin liebe Lesende, oh ja, es gibt einiges hier in unserer Stadt in Sachen Fleisch und irgendwie sind alle mehr oder weniger gleich!!! Dieser Fleisch-Tempel bietet mehr und deutlich mehr in vielerlei Hinsicht und es fängt mit Martin bei der Begrüßung an, dieser Charme, diese hervorragende Wissensmacht, tolle Einstellung zu den Produkten und zu dieser außergewöhnlichen Darstellung. Hochwertige Materialien wurden in diesem casinoähnlichen Restaurant verarbeitet. Das Separate für max. 6 Personen, oh ja, etwas Einzigartiges. Die Speisekarte, nun die Getränke, hier wird nicht gespart, hier wird max. geklotzt. Hier wird jeder Gast wie ein „König“ behandelt und es wird üppig auf High Level serviert. Ich finde Bilder sagen mehr als 1000 Worte, geht hin, es kommt die Zeit und die Wartezeit beträgt dann 24 Wochen auf einen Platz. Wir kommen wieder und dann mit guten Freunden und werden mindestens 2x Magnum Champagner fließen lassen, hier ist das Sorglosrundumpaket täglich gelebt.
