Tigray Restaurant & Bar- Äthiopisches Restaurant in Frankfurt am Main

We were apparently the only German guests on a Saturday evening and it started out a bit chaotic, but all the more authentic because that's how I know Africa... not everything is always there and sometimes there are difficulties in communication but in the end everyone is happy and having fun. We ordered the large mixed platter and were not disappointed. Ethiopian food is simply incredibly delicious. Unfortunately the beef was a bit tough (unfortunately that's also authentic) but everything tasted great. Unfortunately, the ambience is not that nice and that is perhaps the reason why the restaurant is not that well attended. I don't really want to see slot machines in a restaurant and it didn't seem particularly comfortable. I thought that was a shame because everything else was so warm and great.

Don’t let the humble atmosphere and very casual setting fool you, the focus here is on the food. Very delicious and generous portions for the Tigray special. Some of the most delicious if not the most delicious Ethiopian food I’ve ever had!

Extremely tasty and staff very nice. Very relaxed location.

We chose a selection of different Ethiopian dishes on a large plate so that we could try out what was on offer. All dishes were fresh and very tasty. The only thing we didn't like was the ambience. Not necessarily a place for a romantic dinner.

As an Ethiopian, I'm thoroughly impressed with this restaurant. The food is genuinely authentic, flavorful, and generously portioned. Excellent value for money combined with outstanding service. Highly recommended for an authentic taste of Ethiopia.

Wir waren mit einer großen Gruppe in dem Restaurant und haben uns große Platten mit Injera und diversen vegetarischen Gerichten dazu geteilt. Es war wirklich viel und wirklich lecker!! Die Kellnerin war sehr geduldig und hilfsbereit, auch was glutenfreie Ernährung angeht (man kann die Injeras aus 100% Teffmehl bestellen, das glutenfrei ist). Eine angenehme Atmosphäre auch im Restaurant. Nur blöd ist, dass gerade keine funktionierende Toilette vorhanden war, was aber sicher nicht lang anhält.

I ordered the Gored Gored, a simple dish of curried cubed beef with some traditional bread. The meat was unchewable and I had to leave half of it. Very disappointed. €20 (including a bottle of African lager).

After travelling for a couple of months we were craving something other than meat and potatoes. We stumbled across positive reviews of this restaurant, and having enjoyed Ethiopian food at home in Australia, we thought we’d give it a try. We were so glad we did. Unfortunately, the menu is not available in English, and the staff have limited spoken English but one of them made a suggestion for a shared plate, and we went with that - not without some trepidation about what we might be ordering. We need not have worried - the food was fantastic - flavoursome, with lots of variety, a great balance of spice and a very generous serving. A very good meal for a very reasonable price.

One of the best meals I’ve had in Germany so far. Food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so helpful. My family and I are so glad that we came here. We got the special for 4 people and enjoyed every single dish.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Die Großen Platten, die man sich teilt geben einen guten Überblick über die kulinarische Vielfalt. Für mich ist das Restaurant ein Geheimtipp.

Ich war zum Abendessen da. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Hatte die gemischte Platte mit drei vegetarischen und drei Fleischgerichten. Jedes einzelne Gericht war köstlich, insbesondere die vegetarischen, die mich als Fleischesser wirklich bekehren könnten :-) Lange nicht mehr so vielfältig, interessant und lecker gegessen. Definitiv sein Geld wert, und weitere Besuche!

Atmosphäre ist toll, Service ist freundlich & die Portionen sind wahnsinnig groß! Wer hier nicht satt wird... Geschmacklich waren die vegetarischen Gerichten super, die Fleisch Gerichte waren mir teilweise etwas zu zäh, dennoch sehr geschmacksintensiv.

Das Restaurant hat ganz neu geöffnet und ich war ganz aufgeregt es auszuprobieren, da ich lange in Äthiopien gelebt habe. Das Essen war unheimlich authentisch und so lecker als wäre ich wieder vor Ort!! Sie haben sogar Teff-Injera!! Mein äthiopisches Stammrestaurant in Frankfurt!! Vielen lieben Dank!!! UPDATE Januar 2023: Also wir gehen hier jetzt seit einem Jahr mindestens 1x im Monat essen und es ist nach wie vor einfach nur fantastisch!! Die Qualität ist immer gleichbleibend überragend! Danke Terhas und Team das ihr uns immer wieder so glücklich macht❤️
