Ethiopia Restaurant in Frankfurt am Main

We googled Ethiopian restaurants to eat injera in Frankfurt and found this place, but we were very disappointed. We were served almost completely dried injera that was hard to eat. We were seated alone downstairs in a basement with no windows, which made it very difficult to breathe—especially for someone with asthma. When we went upstairs, we noticed that almost everyone else was being served teff injera from Ethiopia. We, however, were served injera made from wheat flour, which was very dry and hard to chew. We felt we were treated differently from the other guests. I do not recommend this place.

I sent my daughter to buy injera there, and it was disgusting. They were leftovers, and I got 80% injera and 20% sauce. The food was totally disappointing. I'll never eat there again!

Frankly, I dont recommand for ethiopian this restaurant. Completely no ethiopian food spiece.

Worst experience, they took more than an hour just to make shiro not worth eating and missed my flight.

Ich glaube man muss authentisches äthiopisches Essen mögen, um das hier genießen zu können. Für uns war das leider überhaupt nix. Auch die Stimmung und die Preisleistung war so lala.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Die Speisekarte ist klein und überschaubar. Leider waren Zutaten wie z.B. Hühnerfleisch nicht vorrätig, dadurch auch nicht jedes Gericht genommen werden konnte. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und hat uns das Essen passend zusammen gestellt und etwas improvisiert. Preis-Leistung gut. Kleine Location, was nicht weiter schlimm ist und es gemütlich macht.

We took 3 different dishes: Gemüse mix (fried vegetables), Doro-Wot (fried chicken) and Zilzil Tibs (fried beef). Vegetables was tasty but portion not too big, fried beef also good and tasty, chicken - the only chicken bones but no any piece of chicken in the plate. In general - not very bad, but for this price you could expect a bit different.

Man merkt, dass sehr viel Liebe in das Essen sowie Inventar gesteckt wurde. Mit wenig wurde viel erschaffen. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Nice restaurant with great Ethiopian food. Apart from us there were locals who seemed to be Ethiopians or close. Only downside: the room was a bit too hot.

I visited here with my wife just to try something new, during our short visit to Frankfurt. It was amazing. The staff didn't speak English or Russian, and my German is pretty basic after years of disuse, but we were able to order and we loved the food. There's only one vegetarian option on the menu, but my wife loved it and keeps talking about wanting to go back, weeks later. The food was served without silverware. You use a piece of flatbread to gather it and eat it with your hands. That might not be for everybody, but it didn't bother us.

Super slow service, we have to wait for more than an hour to get served.

Best Ethiopian Tradtion Food there. The Menü „Tewolde „ is a fresh mit 50-50 Normal to hot spice and fresh meat ! I like there to eat „Tewolde“ then zilzil Tibis! A freshly Grilled meat its juicy!

Ich war wahnsinnig gespannt auf dieses afrikanische Restaurant. Wir sind ohne Reservierung dort hin und hatten Glück das noch was frei war..Das Essen war ganz große Klasse, gegessen wurde mit den fingern. der Service war ganz hervorragend sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Karte und Gerichte wurden uns näher erklärt, was durchaus hilfreich ist. Preis Leistung ist sehr gut. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder dort hin gehen :)

Beste Äthiopische Restaurant in der ich je gewesen bin und habe in mehreren Städten versucht. Wir gehen jedes Mal dort, wenn wir nur in Nähe von Frankfurt sind. Wir sind total begeistert von dem Ort und perfekt gewürzten Essen!

Das Äthiopische Restaurant in der Rudolfstrasse bietet köstliches Essen in großer Auswahl. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es gibt gerne Auskunft über nationale Gerichte, deren Besonderheiten. In wärmeren Jahreszeiten kann man auch im Freien sitzen. Dieses Restaurant liegt etwas versteckt, nahe der Niddastraße. Es ist wirklich sehr zu empfehlen.

Achtet beim Äthiopisch-,bzw. Eritreisch essen gehen, auf die Anzahl der Einheimischen Gäste, um die Authentizität und Qualität des Essens festzustellen. Oft kamen deutsche, bzw. Nicht-Habesha Freunde zu mir und schwärmten von dem Essen bei diesem oder jenen Äthiopier/Eritreer, wo kaum ein Einheimischer speisen würde. Zum Bistro, oder mittlerweile Restaurant Ethiopia geht man nicht wegen dem Ambiente, der Deko oder der schönen Einrichtung. DAS ESSEN IST GIGANTISCH !!! Ich bin Habesha und habe in vielen Städten bei vielen Landsleuten gegessen. Ich bin absolut BISTRO ETHIOPIA -süchtig !!!

Friendly, fun, and best of all is the authentic food. We were introduced to this place by local friends and are so lucky to have had a fantastic culinary experience. We tried everything and loved it all. The level of spices varied from mild to relatively hot, but never too hot. Everyone was happy. They went out of their way to accommodate us and a celiac in our group, with special injera -- the bread that is essential to the meal --made from teff. Excellent service.

Das Essen ist sehr reichhaltig, mit Äthiopischen Gewürzen und schmeckt bombastisch. Die Bedienung uns auch die Gäste sind sehr höflich und immer gut gelaunt.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker und der Preis sehr ansprechend. Die Bar hat auch ein paar gute Angebote und die Bedienungen sind immer sehr freundlich.

Es ist kein aufgesetzt "afrikanisches" Restaurant, mit lästigem Deko-Quatsch so wie sich deutsche Gäste Afrika vorstellen, sondern ein normales Lokal und dafür mit vielen äthiopischen Gästen - im Untergeschoss ist ein äthiopisches Kulturzentrum. Darüber hinaus ist das Essen einfach nur lecker zu sehr fairen Preisen und der Service ist sehr herzlich.

wir hatten ausdrücklich eine Portion vegetarisch und eine mit Fleisch bestellt; die Bedienung hat uns dennoch alles zusammen serviert - was für mich sehr unangenehm war!
