Ti Breizh - Haus der Bretagne in Hamburg

The "Galette au saumon" instantly transported me to the Breton coast. The "Marché aux poissons" in Cancale, with its oysters and shrimp, sold by fishermen in sailor shirts—the same ones the team from Ti Breizh sells. Listening to the nearby barge, I can already hear the waves crashing against the steep cliffs near St-Malo, the clinking of the seashells, and feel the iodine-rich spray on my face. Mmm! It tastes like more of the sea! And the "Galette au caramel au beurre salé" after "Kenavo Ar wech all!"

Not exactly friendly, nor, unfortunately, polite. They don't take reservations. You have to wait, and the tables are small and packed together. Avoid the fish (only two dishes on the menu): the soup is inconsistent (just flour and starch to thicken it). The galettes are good. Only bottled beer. Prices are cheap, but it's not worth the effort. The most disappointing in Hamburg.

We came here for dinner and had a wonderful experience. We came in as walk-ins at around 6pm and were lucky to be seated immediately. We ordered a carafe of Val de Rance cider and two glasses of passion fruit juice as drinks. We then ordered the saumon aux légumes galette and Julian galette as mains, and we ordered the miel & citron crepe for dessert. Everything tasted excellent, and the food was authentic like what we’ve had in France before. We will definitely be back to try their other galettes and crepes when we’re back in Hamburg!

Authentic Breton cuisine in a beautiful location right on the Nikolaifleet canal! The galettes and crêpes are divine – fresh, crispy, and made with high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy; you immediately feel comfortable and welcome. Perfect for lunch or a relaxed evening. A huge thank you to Pouria and Stephane, who, as fantastic hosts, made our visit a truly special experience. Highly recommended!

My favorite place to eat in Hamburg since visiting Brittany as a child! The staff is super nice and most of them speak french as well as german or english. Can definitely recommend the Cidre brut! My favorite Galette is “Estivales” and the best Crêpes is with the salted butter caramel!

I liked everything but for one thing: there were lovely smiling French speaking ladies but we got a guy who didn’t speak French. No problem, we speak English. But I am a high anxiety person and this gentleman’s approach to service gave me a bit of an intense anxiety moment. Next time, I just would ask to be waited on by a lady there.

For an English speaker with coeliacs disease this place is fantastic. Because of the buckwheat pancakes you can eat almost anything on the menu which is available in English and has an easy to access online allergy section. The atmosphere is lovely, warm, welcoming and homely. The staff are extremely pleasant and spoke much better English than my German. The one fun thing about this place is that the servers all seem to speak English German and French so sometimes it seems to be pot luck as to which language they start with.

Anyone wanting to experience Breton cuisine simply must come here. They offer savory and sweet crepes, but these are made with buckwheat. They're truly delicious and offer a completely unique flavor. So, first a meal, then a coffee – a dream come true! Thank you for this wonderful culinary experience.

Getting a table for four in the early afternoon without any trouble isn't always possible. But it's worth the wait, at least for lovers of light Breton cuisine. I'd happily go there again.

Beautiful location, fantastic interior design. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and you can speak French, German, and English with them. They remain calm and friendly even when it gets busy and hectic. It's highly recommended to reserve a table in advance for weekends and leave a generous tip. Card payments are accepted without any problems. They more than deserve a tip.

The waiter was initially unfriendly and then ignored us for ages. The tea and espresso were fine, but the crepe was practically burnt.

I love French cuisine, but buckwheat crêpes were a first for me (spoiler alert: I prefer crêpes made with regular flour 😄). We had crêpes with "Jambon, fromage et champignons à la crème" and "Bergère" (with goat cheese, ham, and walnuts) – the mushroom version was better, the second one a bit dry. We drank Kir Royals with them, just like in Paris. The atmosphere is charming – you can even buy Breton-style clothing, paintings, and records here. It's quite loud and busy, so you have to wait a bit longer for your food.

Authentically French, the staff is equally friendly and efficient. The price-performance ratio is excellent. We ate there twice in two days and had outstanding galettes and crêpes. Highly recommended; reservations are best, unless you're coming between mealtimes.

Whenever we're in Hamburg, a quick stop for delicious food here is always a must. Since we also regularly travel to Brittany, we have a good basis for comparison and can confirm that a good galette (and crêpe, too) has to be crispy around the edges. And that's exactly what we get here. Simply fantastic! Two holiday destinations in one!

It’s not exactly a secret spot and usually crowded. However the service is mostly friendly and the crepes / galettes are yum. The location is really special, when the sun is out there are tables on a small pier in the middle of the canal.

As visitors from Australia, we had no booking but the delightful floor manager managed to find us a table and she made us feel very welcome. The food and atmosphere were wonderful! Well worth a visit and we will definitely come back if ever we are in Hamburg again.

Authentic and delicious galette. Lively atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table late Saturday evening without a reservation, even though the place was packed. It felt like a little vacation in Brittany.

The food was absolutely delicious; I've had the same thing in France, and it was just as good. The place was incredibly cozy, even if it was a bit noisy.

The food and atmosphere at Ti Breizh are always a special experience. Until my visit yesterday, I was always very satisfied – but unfortunately not this time. My reservation request via email remained unanswered for several days, but I was finally able to reserve a table by phone for 6:30 p.m. The table was available right away, and we were able to order around 6:35 p.m. Our first crêpes arrived promptly – in less than 20 minutes – and were, as always, very good. Around 7 p.m., we asked for the two crêpes we had already ordered for dessert. The simple reply was, "If you ordered them, they'll be here soon." Nothing happened for 40 minutes after that. We sat at an empty table and eventually left hungry. Despite the disappointing service, they even asked for a tip when paying. If my next visit doesn't live up to the usual standards, this will likely be my second-to-last visit there.

This Breton restaurant right on the canal serves delicious gallettes and crêpes outside of Brittany! In addition to the gallettes, made from buckwheat dough, the cider is highly recommended, which, also typically Breton, is drunk from cups. Actually, I can recommend all the gallettes and crêpes. The savory versions are served with a variety of toppings. The ones with confit onion or the mushrooms a la crème are highly recommended. My favorite is L'Appetite. Among the sweet versions, the combinations of salted caramel, apple, and vanilla ice cream are particularly noteworthy. And if, after a gallette and a crêpe each, and a jug of cider in your stomach, you're inspired by the striped Breton T-shirts worn by the waitresses, a shop at the exit offers another Breton shopping experience. There you'll find striped clothing by St. James and Amour Lux.

A visit to Ti Breizh is a must on any trip to Hamburg! In my opinion, the best galettes and crêpes ever – hence 5 stars! And the service deserves the same rating! Pair it with a cider! It's served in porcelain cups! Highly recommended!

We were waiting more than an hour to get the service and the food we ordered. The crepe Suzette was very bad- not caramelized at all, it is served almost cold and with very strong taste of alcohol, the marmalade tastes very industrial and very weak taste of orange. Very disappointing

Nach 1 Stunde ohne Essen (die Bedienung war aber in der Zeit x-mal an uns vorbeigegangen) haben wir mal nachgefragt; Ergebnis: Bestellung war in der Küche ignoriert worden. Kein Wort der Entschuldigung....nichts! PEINLICH....als Essen dann kam, wusste eine andere Bedienung dann nicht, was sie gerade verteilt...Ergebnis: selber durchprobieren müssen! PEINLICH Lage/Ambiente: zwischen City und Speicherstadt, gut mit ÖPNV zu erreichen. Interieur recht einfach, aber authentisch. Fazit: wem vernünftiges Essen reicht: ok- wer aber dazu guten Service schätzt, der ist hier einfeutig verkehrt Daher aus meiner Sicht: keine Empfehlung, Hamburg hat eine Vielzahl besserer Restaurants!

Hier ist ein schönes Ambiente an der elbe sehr empfehlenswert für Abendessen und Mittagessen die Crépes waren sehr lecker und gut durch viel leckerer, als bei einem normalen Crêpe stand. Wir waren abends da und haben unreserviert noch einen Platz bekommen. Trotzdem war es sehr voll ich hatte ein Crêpe, der mir sehr geschmeckt hat und mein Freund hatte ein Gallete dass ich ihm auch sehr gut geschmeckt hat

Not really good food with French arrogance

We managed to get a seat outside on a sunny Saturday. The benches and tables were visually appealing, but not very comfortable. The service was very friendly and attentive. We had savory garret and a sweet crepe. It was truly delicious.

It was like a trip to France. The crêpes tasted authentic, just like they do in Brittany. We all enjoyed the evening!

As a Breton living in Germany for 8 years, we decided to spend my birthday there with my partner to find a taste of home... and WOW! The servers are super nice, speak perfect French (I imagine native!). The galettes were very well proportioned, the same for the crepes desserts. We were able to eat directly on the pontoon, and what a view and calm! Incredible! Unfortunately, there are no other Breton desserts other than crepes... I would have loved a kouin aman and that would have been my favorite restaurant without competition!

We spent our lunch break here with six colleagues on a team outing. Both the person who recommended the crêperie and all the other colleagues were extremely satisfied, and several are already planning a family trip here. PS: If possible, reserve a table, as it can sometimes get very busy.

Wir kannten diese tolle Crêperie bereits und kamen am frühen Abend spontan vorbei. Da wir nicht reserviert hatten und das Restaurant komplett voll, mussten wir etwa 40 Minuten auf einen freien Tisch warten. Das war es uns jedoch wert. Die Bedienung spricht hauptsächlich französisch miteinander, aber die Unterhaltung mit den Gästen ist trotzdem möglich und alle sind sehr freundlich. Der herzhafte Galette ging relativ schnell und schmeckte ausgezeichnet. Die süße Bestellung ließ dann allerdings etwas länger auf sich warten, aber sie schmeckte ebenfalls köstlich. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Our previous experiences were good, so we came again. Today, the young receptionist kept saying she'd be there right away. After waiting forever, we were finally told that there were no seats available and it wasn't worth waiting because it would take a long time. We weren't allowed to order anything to go; the kitchen wouldn't be able to handle it. We could have gotten that information without waiting so long. We won't be coming back.
