Restaurant Marseille in Hamburg

I had reserved a table for eight people. We were seated in the side room, which we didn't like. We would have much preferred to sit in the front of the restaurant. Our waiter gave us good advice on the wine. The Sauvignon Blanc was fine. We all found something to our liking on the small menu. Appetizers can be ordered as main courses for an extra 5 euros. Then the first mistake happened: the bouillabaisse, ordered as a main course, arrived as an appetizer portion. This misunderstanding was corrected, but the person who ordered it couldn't eat with us and had to wait. The incorrectly delivered appetizer wasn't removed from the bill, and we ended up having to argue at length until the error was rectified. My tagliatelle with filet tips was overcooked. When I complained, the waiter told me that's how the French eat it. Well, I've been to France often enough to question that explanation. Basically, our group agreed: The restaurant isn't cozy and lacks French charm. The price-performance ratio here is completely off. My tagliatelle with a few tenderloin tips, which were overcooked, cost €31.90. The small piece of entrecôte cost €42. The price for the small piece of cod was also criticized at our table. Twice, our drink orders were forgotten. All in all, we decided against returning to this restaurant.

Relaxed atmosphere, people you feel comfortable with, excellent cuisine and service.

Mussels and fries outside of France? Look no further! Great service and really good food. I'll definitely be back!

To be fair, I'd describe the service as "unpretentious"... perhaps a drinks menu would be nice, and it would be good to be asked what you'd like to drink every now and then instead of having to call the waiter. Well, at least we didn't spend much on drinks that evening... 😁 3. The ambiance was okay, but I'm not exactly a design-conscious person...

We were there for the first time in a long time and opted for the set menu. The salmon bites and a kind of bruschetta with burrata were delicious for starters. The steak tartare wasn't my taste at all; it was bland and much too coarsely chopped for me. The lamb in the main course was perfect, but very limited. The dessert of crème brûlée and sorbet was very classic. The crème brûlée had the perfect consistency, but it was over-flavored, which I don't like; the sorbet was okay. The service was delightful.

The service and ambiance were excellent, and the food was an absolute highlight! The tuna fillet, in particular, was truly a dream! But the appetizers (beef tartare and goat cheese in puff pastry) were also amazing. With the regularly changing menu, this is a highly recommended restaurant!

It was a wonderful summer evening with a holiday feel. One of the last this year. We spontaneously chose the summer menu, and it was excellent. The service was very attentive, unfussy, and charming. It was our first time eating here and we'll definitely be back! We also had the most beautiful view of the Elbe River outside.

Simply a relaxed spot with super delicious food and good drinks. The menu isn't too extensive, and each dish is simply delicious. We've enjoyed almost all of them several times. Good wine recommendations—you can really enjoy yourself here!

Marseilles is worth discovering. You could almost say, “less is sea!” A small menu, but every dish has something special. Experienced waiters will be happy to advise you on a suitable wine. The oysters are fantastically fresh, the bouillabaisse tastes wonderfully like seafood, the ceviche is well thought out, and everything is easy to try. The mussels come in a large black pot with a large lid, as they should be. Special vintages of Pastis are also served here, a real Calvados, and anyone who tries a Crement will find out that there are also exciting differences. Here you are in the best of hands, you get fantastic home-baked bread, you are close to the Elbe and have all the charm of an excellent restaurant in a large port city. The name Marseilles is appropriate in every respect.

The little French oasis at the fish market. Calm, friendly, competent service and fine cuisine with a fair price/performance ratio. Sitting outside the restaurant on sunny days, enjoying a few mussels with a glass of wine is like a mini vacation.

Were there for lunch. And we had a great time sitting outside at small tables. I was surprised because this time the food was really perfect and much better than last time. The kitchen team has changed. 👍🏻 Congratulations to the new team. We'd love to come back. The cod cevice was amazing, not many restaurants can do that so well... And the sea bass that they specially filleted for us and that we shared was also great!

The restaurant had been on my wish list for a while and I wasn't disappointed... It is a rare blessing to find a place where quality and attention to detail are so valued and in a very cozy atmosphere. The menu was small but nice. The food was extremely tasty and left nothing to be desired. Highly recommended, would be happy to come back at any time! A little escape from the fast-moving times in the French south...

We can only recommend this restaurant! The food was very tasty, we had the bouillabaisse and the rhubarb tart, absolutely wonderful. The wine was also great and the service was top. We were thrilled and will definitely come back on our next visit to Hamburg.

We had a great evening with a large group. We had many different dishes and everything was really excellent. The service was also very nice and everything was just right.

Can I please give 6 stars? It may have been because of the special evening, but I thought everything was great. Nothing is exaggerated here. The food and wine are the main focus, but everything has a wonderful charm and quality.

Unfortunately, unfortunately... it remains a mystery why the chef didn't manage to get a simple entrecote (the most expensive dish on the menu!) medium in two attempts. Once rare, the second time completely cooked through and chewy. The other guest's entrecote, however, was perfect the first time. Wrong/bad/different meat? The evening a deux was over... PS: starter was great...

Nice little restaurant, attentive friendly service. Excellent cuisine, highly recommended mussels in a very tasty broth. Gladly again for an all-round lovely evening. The only minus: toilets are in need of renovation.

We ate here on New Year's Eve and loved it. We had delicious salad (with a very tasty dressing), tuna sashimi, bouillabaisse, entrecôte and of course a crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was really of excellent quality and we felt very comfortable there. The staff gave us very good advice on everything and was courteous.

Very friendly people there. The antipasti were a little too vinegary. The tuna sashimi was great. And the cod with potato paté on black lentils can be enjoyed as a feast instead of meat.

Inconspicuous pearl on the Elbstrasse. Here you can enjoy fish in a sophisticated atmosphere. There is also a good selection of wine and the service is competent and friendly. I like to eat the bouillabaisse here. They're really good at that. Also a good lunch option for lunch dates or day guests.

We had a really good evening here and were pleased with the pleasant hospitality. Food was really great, service was attentive, really good wine recommendations, everything was right for us. We'd love to come back. We can recommend SALAD MARSEILLE, pappardelle with game ragout and the entrecôte ;-)

We ordered mussels in advance, they were served almost completely dry without any broth. AFTER we had eaten these disappointedly, the question arose: was it right? No, not enough brew. A portion of the broth was then poured into the empty mussel bowl and a succinct "unfortunately that was forgotten in the kitchen", but of course it appeared on the bill....... The main course came with very little sauce that had little taste . I wanted to do everything right and order more sauce immediately, but the service overlooked me several times. What to do? Call through the bar? Run to the counter? Or call ahead? I decided to call, and the boss said that was an impertinence. What else was I supposed to do? Wouldn't it have been his job to keep a special eye on a table where the starter had gone terribly wrong? Or not to calculate the shells? Or both? Things can always go wrong, but then you should own up to your mistakes. For us a “never again” restaurant

Decent food but priced wrong. We had a good meal, if not spectacular. The portions differed but we’re generally good sized. The starters were very tasty, but the mains fell a little flat.

Wohl die besten Garnelen meines Lebens. Der Besuch war eher Zufall, jedoch französische Küche mit Blick auf den Hamburger Fischmarkt! Thunfisch Tatar von herausragender Qualität, Bandnudeln mit gebratenen Garnelen und Sommer Trüffeln, sehr fein abgeschmeckt. Cremig-fluffige Creme Brulee. Einfach toll,sehr lecker, freundlich, toller Cremant rose aus der Bourgogne. Unbedingt besuchen

Prima Küche und nettes Ambiente.

Wer Lust auf Miesmuscheln hat, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Geschmacklich gut, aber kein Highlight.

Wir sind zufällig in diesem Juwel gelandet. Das Essen wurde mit hochwertigen, frischen Zutaten und viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet. Es schmeckte fantastisch.

War mit Freunden zum Essen dort, alles wohltuend unaufgeregt, die Tische auseinandergezogen, kein Gedrängel beim Servieren der Gänge. Das Essen war köstlich mit knapp gehaltener Karte. Einer der besten Restaurantbesuche der letzten Jahre. Garantiert demnächst wieder dort.

Wir waren am 25.02. dort. Es war einfach perfekt. Sehr aufmerksamer und entspannter Service. Von den Austern über Trüffelpommes und Hauptgerichten bis zu den Getränke alles sehr lecker.

Eine spontane Idee wurde zu einem schönen Abschluss unseres Hochzeitstag. Wir wurden herzlich willkommen geheissen, die Atmosphäre ist entspannt und das Publikum sehr angenehm, aber das Essen toppte alles noch einmal. Vielen Dank, der Rosé Cremant ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Kleines, feines Restaurant mit französischer Küche. Gemütliche und ungezwungene Atmosphäre. Sehr feine Auswahl an Speisen und und Weinen. Ein Ort zum Genießen.

Sehr authentisch mit überschaubarer Karte, aber gelungener Auswahl. Der Chef bedient noch persönlich und ist total sympathisch. Er liebt gutes Essen und das schmeckt man. Ehrliche und hervorragende Küche. Ein absolute Empfehlung. Vielen Dank noch einmal an dieser Stelle! Meine Mutter schwärmt immer noch und sie ist Französin.

As I was looking for a fish restaurant in the Hamburg area. I discovered this gem of a restaurant. Incredible experience. I had the German menu that night. I had the Turbot fillet with some white wine. Would happily return for the French menu. Outstanding.

Sehr schönes französisches Restaurant direkt am Fischmarkt. Kreative Gerichte mit Schwerpunkt Seafood (der Pulpo war allerdings etwas sehr bissfest), fantastischer Service und schlichte Einrichtung ohne Schnickschnack. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung.

Fantastisches Essen, sehr nette und kompetente Bedienung, wunderbar unkompliziert, sehr gute Weinauswahl, ein rundum gelungener Abend. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Merci!

Echte aanrader als je van vis houd

Das leckerste Essen meines Lebens. Feine kleine Speisekarte. Für jeden Geschmack (Fleisch, Fisch, vegetarisch) was dabei. Es ist sehr gemütlich. Schick und trotzdem nicht versnopt. Kann ich nur jedem empfehlen.

Übersichtliche Karte, dafür immer frisch. Für mich ein großes Plus! Der Fisch war perfekt zubereitet, die Fischsuppe war o.k. Vorbildlich bedient. Wir gehen gerne wieder hin.
