Thorheim in Bergkamen

Permanently closed, according to a newspaper report and unfortunately this was confirmed by the advertisements on the homepage. Unfortunately, there has not yet been any notification for upcoming reservations. Maybe those affected will read this here and save themselves the journey.

Blues music at its best once a month from autumn to spring!

Went to a knight's feast. Juggler was semi-entertaining to - for me - rather annoying. The wait for the individual courses is clearly too long, at intervals of over an hour. I left before the last course. Now I definitely know where I won't celebrate my birthday. Food and service were good.☺️

We were in the party room on Jan 18th for an “etching”. It started at 6 p.m. It was -2° outside and around +2° inside. In other words, the room wasn't heated, or rather, it was extremely cold in the room, the heating on the ceiling was working, but apparently it didn't do anything. Everyone present felt cold ☹. This only improved around 10 p.m., after hardly any people went out to inhale a coffin nail. Let me make it clear that this is not possible. Feeling good is different. The service was very good, nice, quick and attentive. The food was also very good. We had “Etching-4” and found the food very good, with the exception that we all thought that the kohlrabi was not suitable (but that is a matter of opinion). But it still tasted good. Conclusion: If the heating in the room had worked better, it would have been a successful evening, but you should dress warmly and bring chair cushions. Because of the cold in the party room, I can still only give it 3 stars.

The food as a medieval menu was the most disgusting food I have eaten in a restaurant. The ambience, which had the medieval tradition as the main program, was fulfilled to 40%. 3 people who are part of the team and we liked the minstrel the best. Some of the food was inedible. Spices were saved 100%. In the Middle Ages the cook would definitely have been punished. A suggestion to the owner, change the chef.

We reserved a table at very short notice (recommended) because we wanted to try it out for a birthday. The birthday takes place somewhere else. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff is super friendly. Unfortunately, we sat in a kind of walk-through room, which may have been due to the short-term reservation. But it was still lovingly and very medievally furnished. There was a great atmosphere and beautiful medieval music in the background. Unfortunately, here is another but, it was very fresh, a jacket is recommended. The food is ok, you'll get full but that's about it. We had ribs, fried chicken and smoked pork and unfortunately all 3 dishes were very dry. The side dishes were half potato wedges that were warmed in the oven and somehow sour-tasting vegetables mashed together. You could eat it, but it could be delicious differently. Furthermore, it should be mentioned on the site that card payment is not possible. When we asked, we were offered PayPal as an alternative. But if it were on the page there wouldn't be any need for an alternative. So work on your kitchen, maybe we'll see each other again in a few years. The rest is great.

We went to the knight's meal today, a successful evening, food very good, service very good, entertainment super good! Absolutely recommended, we are already looking forward to the next time 👍👍

For me personally, expectations were exceeded! We were at thorheim on January 3rd and reserved a feast for 4 adults and 2 children. The food came quickly and it was better than I thought! Ribs, knuckle and chicken were well seasoned and the side dishes were more than enough of everything and really tasty! The only deduction I have to make relates to the temperature in the hall. Unfortunately, it was really cold and some of the women had to eat with jackets on, which was probably because the days over New Year were closed and we were at 6 pm on the first day: 00 there were of course heating such a large hall takes time. Nonetheless, I would be happy to do so! If you like that sort of thing, you've come to the right place!!

Were there for the first time today with 4 people for the hot pot fondue. It was very tasty, meat tender and enough side dishes. Highly recommended, we will definitely come back again. Friendly service, overall a nice evening

I was invited to a small celebration at Thorheim. You have to like this type of gastronomy, which unfortunately isn't the case for me. But I can't say something bad just because I personally don't like it. There are definitely enough people who think this is really great. Unfortunately I can't give a better rating because I'm not one of them.

There's not much to say there. Simply delicious, simply good. We had a feast and everything tasted really, really good. Service was very attentive despite the darts tournament in the back room. We'll definitely be back!

Wir hatten sehr leckeres Essen. Wildgulasch,Braten,Reis,Spätzle ect. Es war alles Mega lecker,und sehr reichlich. Wir wurden schnell und sehr aufmerksam bedient! Die Location is einfach nur toll! We had a feast with game goulash, roasts, fish, vegetables and side dishes. Mega tasty and very plentiful. The service was attentive and prompt. The location is very appealing. The dessert was a dream. We are happy to recommend you and will come back soon! Thank you!

As of today: (We went there several times to "test" it and it was always the same.) Exterior gnawing totally unkempt. Unfortunately the food was no longer edible. Service was terrible and unfriendly - waiting time was super long, even though the store was empty. Lack of staff = stress for employees and dissatisfaction among guests. (Dark Room, Escape Room, various events.) If you offer all of this with a lack of strength, then I don't need to be an expert to know that stress is inevitable and the quality suffers greatly as a result. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend Thorheim at this point! The ambience is great: lots of great, large rooms with great attention to detail. Unfortunately, that doesn't do much if the rest isn't there. So much potential that is wasted here. *My tip: (Hire more staff, put more care into the shop and offer higher quality food. Otherwise I see really bad things for Thorheim, which in my opinion would be a real shame. I really wonder if the "boss" cares about the shop?! Sorry, but if I don't have any means of improvement for the criticism mentioned (which several people also criticize), then unfortunately I have to close the shop.

It's very rustic here. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the Middle Ages. 😃

We had a Christmas party and the food was as bad as I/we would have liked. Pudding-like sauces, indefinable meat, dry gnocchi, pasta indefinable, never again

We had booked a dark puzzle room, but it was done at short notice. Alas, the jailer, however, a careless man, forgot we were there, and so we had to return home without having accomplished anything. But the landlady, a lovely maid with a kind disposition, welcomed us with great kindness and treated us to free mead, so that our hearts were nevertheless refreshed.

Dinner in the Dark Frame was halfway OK. But the food was miserable. Had the impression that the plates here came randomly from a major event that was also taking place. Done carelessly. Meat dry. No spices whatsoever. The meaning of the food in the dark through the senses (smell/taste). was not possible due to a plate that was plentiful but carelessly created. Dessert had poor canteen quality.

We had a very nice evening today. Only in the dungeon. Was really well done. Unfortunately we didn't make it in the allotted time, but we still had fun. Afterwards we had something to drink and eat there. The food was very good. Top service. All around lovely evening. We will definitely go there again.

The rustic atmosphere of the restaurant fits the theme perfectly. The “dinner-in-the-dark” experience was attractively staged. Unfortunately there was only one person responsible for the entire room for us and all other guests for the evening. Of course, the friendly young man had his hands full with this. Out of consideration, we ordered a few more drinks and waited until the last second so that we didn't have to be led through the dark room outside to the toilet. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet our taste at all. It seemed very greasy and a lot of it tasted like very simple convenience food. Nevertheless, the event itself was an experience all in all.

Best knight's meal with animation in this region 🙂. Always my pleasure!!

Summary from several visits: The Thorheim is unique. Anyone who likes medieval Viking fantasy will get their money's worth here. The escape room is of course designed to match the ambience and has some nice puzzles. The service and organization are always friendly, but unfortunately sometimes a bit chaotic. Food portions are sufficiently large depending on the number of people; the quality of the cuisine depends somewhat on the day and the level of activity. Nevertheless, definitely worth one or more visits. Provided you like medieval Viking fantasy. I think it's good.

We had come from all over Germany for a family event with 30 participants and were really looking forward to an entertaining evening with something different. Expectations were understandably high, especially given the prices of €52.90 for a knight's meal and a €28 drinks package for 4 hours of "entertainment". At the same time, a 40th birthday was taking place in the adjacent room. We were greeted by Floki in original clothing and briefly shown the location. The waitress first asked everyone what drinks package they wanted... then they asked for drinks. It all dragged on well. Unfortunately, the main guest was late, so we couldn't start eating until 30 minutes later. But it didn't matter because not everyone had drinks yet. Long story short... we simply imagined something completely different... The “entertainment” consisted of a bit of music from the box, an introduction to the dishes and a little spoon-tasting game. The service was so listless and disinterested that we ended up ordering our drinks ourselves from a tray at the neighboring bar and handing them out. We piled the dishes on a table well after dessert. The food.... Yes...😕 The starter was missing pickles, bread and dip. The soup was just there at some point The main course was served "traditionally" for 30 people on a separate table on a board...the food was simply cold after 5 minutes. All in all, it would have been ok warm, but not a highlight either. Dessert was a quark dish with fruit distributed in a glass. The cheese wheel was a wheel with grapes that just flowed away at some point, and next to it there was a bowl of salad... which no one could eat without plates and cutlery. It was positive that the person in charge tried to limit the damage, apologized with a keg of beer, we were able to stay longer than 4 hours and then there were bottles of non-alcoholic drinks on the tables. In general it could have been a fun thing, but when you go home and realize that you have just paid €160 for 2 people and were neither entertained nor provided with great food, then that is just very disappointing....

Unfortunately we didn't like the food, the atmosphere was great. It's a shame because we don't come here anymore.

We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday. The hall was great. The tables are beautifully decorated. The buffet was beautifully prepared. We had the all in one buffet and drinks. We were always helped when we had questions. Everyone nice and friendly. Many thanks to the two Kerstins :-)

Unfortunately, the first problem was that our reservation was apparently not known despite email confirmation and email reminder. After a bumpy start, things continued bumpy. The service was rather less good. Overall, we all enjoyed the food, but unfortunately the portion of the balls was very small. When asked about dessert, the next strange surprise. The music didn't fit the great ambience at all. Paying wasn't pleasant either because you suddenly found yourself in a cigarette haze. So all in all, unfortunately not a good performance. It's a shame.

Nice rustic atmosphere. Knights and Vikings feel comfortable here, but even dressed in normal clothing is really well done. Food was good and cheap. Staff friendly and you don't evaporate either.😉

First of all, the room where we ate with 9 people was very cold at the beginning, but this quickly went away when it got full and then it was just too hot in the room. The service wasn't too friendly, she was probably very stressed because there was also a birthday party taking place there at the same time and all the seats were also occupied. We waited 2 hours for the food to order, although they said it would take a while (a little time meant 15-20 minutes, those were the words of the waitress). Then out of 9 people only 1 was satisfied. The children didn't have any fries or nuggets, although this was on the menu and I was told in advance by phone that all children's menus had fries and also had nuggets on them. The waitress told me it wasn't on the menu and didn't exist, even though a small child at the next table had fries and nuggets. All the dishes were not seasoned, it was flabby and the meat was just fatty and inedible, so that some people had a stomach ache afterwards. I'm just bitterly disappointed, you hear so many good things but that was far away. The table next to us hardly ate anything either - it just wasn't tasty. If you are overwhelmed with so many people then you have to keep the place smaller. The carrot mash was inedible and a lot of things were taken off the menu. My husband and I were missing the köttbular on the meat platter. After we asked where they were, we were told they were currently empty. You would have to find out about something like that in advance; there was nothing else as an addition. Card payment is also not possible, there is a sign on the door. Unfortunately we didn't have a nice evening and wanted to go home as quickly as possible. I was in the escape room a few months ago and it is highly recommended. I hope that something changes at Thorheim because otherwise it's just a shame. A couple of people who were there with us on Saturday had recently eaten there and were really excited, so we wanted to celebrate my husband's birthday there in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy everything except for the drinks, which wasn't possible. Service and food just weren't great, I'm sorry. The waitress was simply stressed because she had been really busy.

One thing in advance: The Thorheim is not an upscale dining restaurant but an event location. Nevertheless, the food at the king's meal was very tasty. No fancy specialties, but soup, chicken, roasts and side dishes were well prepared. The service was great and regularly asked if we had any further requests. And the entertainment program with jugglers and music was humorous and fit perfectly with the Middle Ages theme. Several hours of good entertainment and rich food. Something urgently needs to change at the entrance!!!! Waiting in line for 35 minutes because every ticket is compared with the seating plan and every guest is personally shown to the table??? Of course, depending on the group size, you can optimally occupy the seats. But : Well thought - very poorly done!!!! Dear Thorheim team, have you ever thought about table numbers or names to speed up entry significantly???

Four of us went to the escape room and then enjoyed a medieval feast together. The escape room was really great! The atmosphere feels authentic and the story and puzzles are very well done. This raises our rating to 3 out of 5 stars – without the escape room it would probably only have been 2. About the feast: Since one of us is a vegetarian, we ordered one vegetarian menu and three menus with meat. We had already decided on these dishes two days in advance. The starter came as ordered and we enjoyed it, even though the fiery meat pot only contained a little minced meat. After a short wait the main course arrived. Unfortunately, the food that was delivered almost didn't match what we ordered. Of the seven dishes selected, only two matched our order. This was disappointing as we were looking forward to our selection. When we asked, they simply said that some ingredients were probably not available and that other things had been added instead - annoying if you ordered in advance. The quality of the food was okay, not outstanding but as expected. After the main course, our dessert was unfortunately forgotten for almost 60 minutes and only came when asked. Here too we did not receive the dessert we ordered. At the end we wanted to pay and were surprised to find that card payments were not accepted. This should be clearly stated on the website as the bill for a group can quickly add up to a large amount. The very authentic and beautiful furnishings as well as the large amount of food should be positively highlighted. Each of us had so much that there was enough left over for another meal the next day. The staff was generally friendly.

I was there with several friends for a "big event". There were probably around 120 other people there with us. I was there for the first time myself. I found the atmosphere very great. It's a bit dark there, but that doesn't bother me and that's part of it. It can get very cold in the front room because the door is constantly open because the smokers are standing there. But it was already warm in the large room at the stage. However, my impression was that there were not enough staff for such an event. Especially when it comes to food. My order took a very, very long time. Calculating the food is also very difficult, as I no longer received the food I ordered, but rather a replacement (note: I thought it was good, however, that they thought about it and simply brought me something different. Otherwise I would have waited even longer must). The food was delicious, although friends tell me that there is more when it's not crowded. But I can't confirm that because I don't have anything to compare it to However, the prices are reasonable. However, I would advise the owner to think about the number of staff at such events. And perhaps a better way of calculating food. I know it's hard to find good staff these days. And the amount of food was, is and always will be a risk But the staff was very friendly, even if they were very stressed. The arithmetic...OK...that should be practiced again...4+4+12.90 euros is NOT €22.90 😜 But I will definitely go there again because I found it very nice there

We looked forward to coming back to Thorheim and seeing the strays for months. 6:00 p.m. entry. 6:40 p.m. Ordered food at the counter as no one was at the table yet. 1x veggie plate, 1x grouse Freya. 8:22 p.m. someone came by the table to tell us "we haven't forgotten you" I asked at the counter at 9:35 p.m., and when asked urgently, a lady went to the kitchen to ask, THEN they promised it would come. The food arrived at 9:45 p.m. (!). I missed the breaded romaine and Brussels sprout skewers, as well as the mashed turnips. The two reasons why I chose this dish. “Beetroot stomp is out” (on a dish ordered 40 minutes after the restaurant opened for a booked event!). After the lady had unsuccessfully looked for my skewer, she said, "That's why there are mushrooms on the plate." Oh right! In the meantime I noticed that half of the grilled corn on the cob was spoiled (sour). The "fruity-sweet oven-cooked chicken" was fried like a nugget, NOT fruity-sweet, and accompanied by equally fried pieces of cauliflower and FISH. Here, too, no beet mash, which was simply served without a word beforehand. The mushrooms and potatoes that were not ordered were good, the tomato was also tasty. Waiting 3 hours and 5 minutes to get food that was partly spoiled, partly simply left out and partly simply replaced with something else is quite a feat. Ask for the boss. “He’s home early.” At an event with 170 guests (according to the employees), why is there no boss in the house??? The poor women in service always get the displeasure of the dissatisfied guests, that's NOT fair to the staff! The ambience can be so beautiful and the strays can be so great. And when regular guests tell you that this is everyday life, the question arises as to whether the owner should do a few internships in other catering establishments. Kudos to the service people who get through this! We would love to come to a stray event again, next time with bread and butter in our pockets.

Rustic Viking atmosphere, Great music groups performed as part of a tavern game in Thorheim organized by the Streuner Wilde Gesellen and Krugdreher fan clubs. "The Strays", "Vrevel", "Tandaniel" and Nikkijara Devil Violinist. Nikki's singing gave us goosebumps 😍. The walkers rocked the hut as always.

Unfortunately bitterly disappointed. We waited almost 3 hours for the food. The ambience is really nice to look at, but it's all pointless if there aren't enough staff there. The few staff available are completely overwhelmed and can make you feel sorry for them. Apparently this is not uncommon, according to other guests. The food was tasty, although it didn't quite match the description. We won't be coming back again. It was also quite cold and many of the guests still had their jackets on. At least the musical program was nice.

The food tastes very good, the service is quick and friendly. The atmosphere is very Viking-like. What bothers you is that it is very cold and dark. Dress warmly and have enough battery in your cell phone for the light.

The knight's food was manageable but the taste was impeccable / top service from the barmaids / jugglers and musicians brought atmosphere and entertaining entertainment to the hall

The space for eating is very narrow. And the plate with the main course was very crowded.

The service was great, but unfortunately the food wasn't. What a shame actually! We got it as a gift from our daughter and were looking forward to it. The “Knight's Pan with Herb Butter and Bread” consisted of pretty mixed smoked pork with sauerkraut, bread and herb butter were completely missing. The "fine soup made from the broth of bristly cattle" is actually a soup in which (for 8 people) there were no less than 10 pieces of sausage and two pieces of celery. In “Grilled spit roast, marinated ribs, baked poultry with potatoes, garden variety, cabbage and tunke” the ribs and the tuna were missing, cabbage here probably meant red cabbage and the “garden variety” was green beans... Unfortunately, my spit roast was more fat with tendons, and how you manage to get the skin so rubbery on a "baked" chicken leg is a mystery to me. We didn't wait for dessert and went out to eat first. A tip about the program: The live music with dinner would be more authentic and easier on the ears without an amplifier. In the end we had the impression that the knight's meal was designed more for quantity than for class.

It was a really nice evening at the knight's meal. Almost 4 hours of entertainment and good food so you don't go home hungry. If you can't manage the food, you can pack it up and take it with you. The supporting program was coherent and entertaining

Of course, anyone who has something to do with the Middle Ages or Vikings and doesn't live far from the beaten path should visit the Thorheim in Bergkamen. There's nothing to complain about in terms of the ambience and the nice service ladies. The food was above average, although I found the fried fish from the Haitabu plate almost inedible. It was just slush in the beer batter. But the rest was excellent and hearty and enjoyed by the entire group. Therefore 4 stars for the food. We'll definitely be back next year! A year later and we were there again. It was just as beautiful as last year! 😘

The food was great👍🏻 The waitress was very annoyed and charged everyone in the group too much for drinks. In the end they said that 5 people hadn't paid for the food, but when we showed resistance they were suddenly paid. It was damn bold and almost 400 cheating euros. That would have at least been an apology. Unfortunately I can't recommend it ❗

Yesterday we went to a feast with jugglers with 21 people. The juggler, OK, always came in every now and then and handed out roles to the participants and ensured some amusement. The food was delicious, the soup was limited so that 2 people went away empty-handed. The service that evening was slightly annoyed and not very friendly, they also hit a few people and asked them to clear the table the plates of food can be placed on the table. The sound makes the music. It was also slightly disorganized with empty mugs and plates left on the table for a very long time. And last but not least came the payment, the waitresses weren't good at arithmetic (or didn't want to do arithmetic correctly) and some overpaid by over €10, but you couldn't complain because you didn't get a bill even when you asked. After half of our group had already left, the two waitresses came excitedly into our room and said that 5 meals plus drinks had not yet been paid for. The ladies acted quite aggressively, hardly letting us finish, we emphasized that it couldn't be, everyone had definitely paid .But since you don't get an invoice, none of us could have proven that we had paid. After a while, the waitress came back in for the 4th time and said very succinctly... everything is ok. My colleague had the missing billed slips in the wallet, that smelled like it was premeditated, because only after we said we could show everyone in photos and they should say who wasn't there to pay, all of a sudden the missing drink tickets were back... no real excuse , nothing . So the waitresses that evening weren't what you'd expect, and the whole billing thing wasn't pleasant and strange.

Great party location, we were completely satisfied. We especially have to praise the nice team. Every wish would be fulfilled.

Drinks service poor. Buffet not tested. This is no way to make money or to continue running the restaurant successfully

Were there on schnitzel day. The meat was good, the fries weren't necessarily the best and there was a bit of a lack of side dishes. The ambience is a bit thrown together in my opinion. The outside area is very nice.

You have to like the ambience. But if you like rustic and simply “different”, this is the place for you. The food is simply great for meat lovers. The SpareRips are tender and definitely worth a visit on Schnitzel Wednesday. Tasty and lots. About the team: Extremely nice. All.

Went to the tavern for the hot pot for the first time today. A beautiful and, above all, delicious evening. The garlic quark was the bomb 🖤 We would love to come back.

It's very often closed there. We wanted to go to the beer garden when the weather was nice but it was closed again 🤷‍♂️

We were there for the second time with a larger group. Both times we ate well and received our drinks quickly. The waiters were nice and accommodating.

This year we were able to host our community meeting in Thorheim and we are absolutely thrilled again! For the second year in a row we had the pleasure of spending time there and it was once again a wonderful experience. The staff was always friendly, attentive and always tried to make our stay an unforgettable one. No matter what concern arose, it was resolved quickly and professionally. We would particularly like to emphasize the warm nature of the boss, who even took the time to speak to us personally and make sure that everything was perfect for us. The food was delicious and although there was a slight delay, we completely understood - the site was busy and the team went above and beyond to still give us a great dining experience. We were there for several days and enjoyed every minute. The atmosphere was simply fantastic and we are already looking forward to next year! A small point of improvement would be the toilets - a little more attention could be paid to cleanliness here, but that didn't spoil our stay in any way. Many thanks to the entire Thorheim team – we’ll be happy to come back! #WeAreHogwarts

If you are looking for a medieval atmosphere, this is the place for you. From the service to the bathing that sings, everything is incredibly beautiful. The food was very tasty and we will definitely come back again!

Drinks came after 40 minutes. Eat after 2 hours. But it wasn't complete. There was a missing court, which also didn't comply. Soup was watery. Dessert didn't come at all. Only this main course was good. Were not satisfied at all :-(

We went there as a family primarily to visit the escape room. There is enough parking space and a very nice beer garden. The interior was very authentic and lovingly designed. The escape room was incredibly fun and was also authentically decorated. I would recommend it for beginners to advanced users. On this day a Viking festival was also held in the beer garden. It was very nice and well attended. It was just a shame that there were no purely vegetarian dishes on the menu. It was just a barbecue offer. My friend ate the side dishes accordingly, but he was well satisfied.

Just break away from everyday life. Thorheim can unwind with the beautiful Thorgarten. Hat test with live music today. Food from the charcoal grill and a freshly tapped beer. With and without clothing. Funny conversations between friends. Gladly again and again 😊

We booked an all-in package with 34 people. Food, drink and entertainment. At first we sat at two long tables in the spacious beer garden. When the weather changed we moved inside. Even here we were still able to sit down with around 20 people. The music duo also played for us again inside.

Long waiting time, food from lukewarm to cold, drinks took forever (service was overloaded, not enough people for all reservations) some drinks were no longer available, instead of clarifying there was simply something else! For me, despite the hard work of the waitresses, it was subterranean, terrible and they had to charge money for it - unbelievable...never again

Can't say much about the place, but the Grand Jam concerts are always great. The open air concert was also great.

Super tasty food and very large portions. The ribs are juicy with a great marinade and the potatoes are crispy and well seasoned. The ambience is as you would imagine and quite authentic. We had the Viking plate for two (also shown here in the pictures). Rich and everything fresh and made with love. We will be back definitely! PS you can only pay in cash.

A special kind of beer garden. Rustic and uncomfortable. Invites you to relax and enjoy yourself. Unfortunately I was there at a time when it wasn't open. Couldn't order food or drinks. I would love to come back here during opening hours. See you soon.

The food was great, unfortunately there was a party in the large event hall with 160 people, of which we didn't hear anything except the sad complaints of the waitress, who was supposed to work alone, she was nice and polite but overwhelmed. The ambience was cool, the food was great

The tenant of the Thorheim will not pay back an advance payment of €800 that the AfD Unna district association made for an event. What was initially agreed was 4x200€ and later a reduced repayment of 400€ in total. The lessor should keep the difference of €400 for the expenses incurred (loss for ordered goods). Despite many recurring promises and excuses, the landlord does not comply with the agreement. It's a shame, the AfD was always happy to be a guest at Thorheim.

And so it happened that to celebrate my wife's anniversary, we and our entourage - numbering 10 - went to the Thorheim tavern in Bergkamen. Full of anticipation, we waited for food and drink and were certainly not disappointed by the hot pots that were served. Nobody went hungry here, the fresh meat and finely roasted potatoes as well as the fresh bread were sure to please. Drinks also flowed freely, with plenty of mead and beer, as well as water for the coachmen. As the sun slowly set, we moved the celebrations to the spacious garden to listen to the music under the lanterns and accompanied by fireflies and revel in stories until the full moon rose high in the sky. What a wonderful evening it was - and we can only warmly recommend the Thorheim tavern in Bergkamen to every traveler with a dry throat or a growling stomach.

When it comes to fondue, the quality of the meat is very important. Unfortunately, the quality of pork, beef, chicken and turkey in the Dutch oven was not good. The beef was tough like soup meat, we also left the turkey behind (smell)... the best part of the side dishes were the potatoes... there were no other vegetables or herb butter. The salad and the bread were far too little for 5 people... It's a shame...

Brilliant feast like the Vikings - highly recommended

It was quite nice. We were at the knight's meal, the food was quite good, the entertainment was also quite nice and the time went by quickly. But it wasn't an absolute highlight as promised. There were only spoons and knives for eating and unfortunately there were far too few staff there, so the time between the meals was huge (from table to table) and the service with drinks was rather slow, and the technology, including the microphone, unfortunately also failed. It was a nice evening but we won't come back. The price was great

Very friendly service and very good food. The only point deducted is because unfortunately the bristle cattle broth was a bit too salty. But all in all a place that can only be recommended. We will definitely come back and try something different.

For my six-year anniversary, I booked the Dutch oven for my boyfriend and I through Groupon. This includes an oil-based fondue with three different types of meat, three dips, a basket of bread, a basket of potatoes and a small salad each. Drinks are exclusive. The ambience of the shop is very stylish and reminiscent of a tavern from Viking times. The front area is more for pub business and the back area is for the restaurant. We were given a table for two that was a bit in its own right and suited the occasion. First of all we ordered the drinks. For me there was a Kischbier and for my friend a non-alcoholic Weizen from Potts on the recommendation of the service. He liked the latter very much and was great for the driver of the evening. I also found the cherry beer super fruity and drinkable. Suitable for the evening. Little by little the table was set and the portions were more than enough for two people. I have actually never eaten fondue in this form before and was very excited. First of all: the potatoes were so delicious. The crust was really crispy and the potato was soft on the inside. I know you can't really go wrong with potatoes, but I thought they were really great. The meat included one each of chicken, beef and pork. If you managed to pull the beef out of the oil until it was still transparent, then it was simply the tastiest meat of the evening or you left it in for ages until it was tough 😂 I learned the lesson with the second piece and it was perfect 💫 The service was very attentive and always asked if we needed anything else and added new drinks. I really enjoyed the whole evening and was completely full at the end. We didn't manage to eat everything either. With the ambience and service we had a really great event evening. You can also book medieval meals there for four people or more, there is a separate room for rent for celebrations, a beer garden in the summer that looked really great and an escape room with a corresponding theme. Ala Carte dining is also possible. However, you should make a reservation because the guest room is not overly large and on our first desired date, for example. B everything was fully booked. Even the e-mail contact was in the appropriate time and made us look forward to the whole evening. In any case, I have a recommendation.
