The Small Steakhouse in Köln

The service was very friendly. The food was excellent, the steak exactly as ordered. The baked potato was perfect, nice and soft with delicious quark (sour cream). Highly recommended. And they have good lunch specials.

We ate at the small steakhouse about a month ago. We were really looking forward to it, as we used to eat there quite often, about ten years ago. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Our waiter was very friendly, but the owner and other waiters seemed very cold. We each ordered a steak with different sides. Unfortunately, two of the steaks were cooked incorrectly: we ordered "well done," but they arrived rare, and the person who ordered rare got medium. Some things could be rectified, but we didn't get a replacement steak. As compensation, we were given a Coke.

Excellent restaurant in the center of Cologne. Second floor. We had an anticote steak which was excellent. The salad and chips were also excellent. The Sprite came in a relatively small glass and not in a bottle.

Went there again after five years. At lunchtime, without a reservation, we received a really friendly welcome. We got a table by the window and had a delicious meal. It was very busy, but there was no rush or stress. Absolutely reasonable prices, and that's for the Hochstrasse. It's hard to believe. Now we're going to hit them again.

Not what it used to be. We returned to the small steakhouse after a year. We both agreed that it used to be much better. It's a shame. The food was okay. The pistachio tiramisu was green and lacked any pistachio flavor! The coffee was good!

Linguine with truffles and strips of beef fillet – absolutely delicious. The service was very attentive and pleasant. Without a reservation, we still managed to get a seat for the two of us, even though the restaurant was busy.

Das Kleine Steak House in Cologne is a real gem for steak lovers. The quality of the meat is excellent — always perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The vegetables with the schnitzel were still crisp and very tasty. The portion size was good. My husband could have had a bit more fries. We also really enjoyed the dessert. We found the portion size a bit too small. We thought the music was nice, but a bit inappropriate. We give it 5 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My absolute favorite restaurant in Cologne. The steak is incredibly delicious, and if you want it medium-rare, you'll get it medium-rare, and if you want it medium, it'll be medium. The service is incredibly friendly and knows what they're doing. The restaurant has a super cozy interior, and I highly recommend it.

The food was very tasty. We didn't even have to wait 30 minutes for our food to arrive, and that was on a weekend with lots of guests. However, the fact that two slices of herb butter cost €3.80 should be reconsidered...

The service was really friendly. The food was okay—the salad was reminiscent of fresh-cut produce from a bag, the side vegetables were reminiscent of a frozen product, and the herb butter, due to its shape, seemed to be from various retail stores. It seems unloving. The ambiance is nice, but the layer of dust on the bar counter, as well as the greasy marks left by previous guests on the dessert picture frames at the table, somewhat dampened the coziness of the visit. I did appreciate the various hygiene products available in the clean restrooms.

We received a very friendly welcome, even though we didn't have a reservation. Everyone was very accommodating. The food was truly delicious, and the plates belonging to other guests also looked very good! We'll definitely be back next time we're in Cologne!

From the outside it is not clear what kind of establishment this is. But when you go up and enter the restaurant, a warm and romantic atmosphere envelops you, cozy and calm and elegant. Ideal for dates and just a regular visit to the restaurant. The food is delicious, huge portions, good prices. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Beautiful waiters. I was very pleased. At lunchtime, there's a great lunch menu with great deals. Special requests are happily and courteously accommodated. All in all, we can truly recommend this small steakhouse to anyone.

Great opportunity, good price/quality ratio

I've known this little steakhouse since the beginning. Back then, it was on Kömödienstrasse. I eat there regularly. Even when I'm short on time, I'm always served well, and my meal is on the table in no time. I always say: As long as it takes a steak to grill! Perfect timing. Well organized. Thank you for years of dedication. I'd be happy to come back.

The waiter's service was disrespectful! Dismissive and cold. Unfortunately, my daughter and I decided to leave the restaurant without trying anything from the menu.

I travel to Cologne every year for work, and I can't help but have dinner here. The atmosphere is warm and modern, the staff is quite attentive, and the "boss" is always very attentive. Excellent traditional German food (if you like it, of course). You might miss it because it's on the first floor, and you might miss it while walking around.

The Steckhaus is very inconspicuous in the middle of the pedestrian zone. The food we had as a group was really good. The snails were probably good, too. ^^

As always, everything was great. We were there (once again) with a larger group (14 people), and there were no problems. Drink orders were taken quickly, and no one had to wait long for re-ordering. Everyone got their food at the same time. The wait was very short (about 15 minutes), and the service was attentive and courteous. This small steakhouse on Hohen Straße has been a regular stop on every visit to Cologne for years. We have never been disappointed. Please keep up the good work; restaurants like this have become a rarity in Germany.

Good steak but Horrid service. The older waiter with glasses stopped smiling the moment we asked for the lunch menu. If you're reluctant to sell lunch menu, stop promoting it then. There was an accident with spilled drink on the table and he grumbled as he came to clean it up, looking very angry and never even bother to ask if we want to order another drink, which isn't smart for a waiter, first he forgot to upsell, and second it is just plain service after you see the customer has no more drink on the table. We have had it with the service by then, so we didn't bother to order anything else. He only smile when it's time to present the bill and he had the cheek to ask for tip. Wow. We certainly will not come back. Plenty other places serves great steaks in town and with decent service.

After a long and tiring walk through Cologne's pedestrian zones, we arrived in front of an inconspicuous sign inviting us to the small steakhouse on the first floor. Once upstairs, I told myself, this is exactly what I need. A quiet and cozy atmosphere. Attentive but not intrusive service, who also catered to small special requests. We really enjoyed it. We'd love to go back.

Because of the many good reviews on Google, we went to eat at the Little Steakhouse. I wonder where the good reviews come from. I had a burger, and oh my God, I've never had such a bad burger. The decor is reminiscent of a cafeteria. Well, quantity over quality.

It was no taste in the steak the chicken was dry and not worth the money I went only because of the rating but it was not worth it

We come from Lohmar to Cologne city center about three or four times a year to shop, and "Das kleine Steakhaus" is a must! The food is always delicious, the service is always friendly, and we're always completely satisfied.

Cozy and good, as always. Steak and more is delicious. Very cozy there. All the staff were customer-friendly and very attentive. One thing to note: don't drown the salad in the dressing; less is more. That's the only criticism, otherwise it's top-notch.👍👍👍👍

I've walked past it hungry several times, but the timing was never right. Now, at lunchtime, it finally arrived, and it worked out. The restaurant was busy, but we got a table without any problems, and the service was prompt and attentive throughout. Depending on the dish, the prices are certainly on the higher side, but in my opinion, the value for money is good. This was our first time eating at this steakhouse and we have nothing negative to say. But the second time we went, just wanting a drink, we were turned away even though the restaurant was empty. We were in Cologne as tourists and will definitely not go there again.

Service desert with side salad The food was okay, but the service – a true masterpiece of indifference. White wine is simply served without asking which one, the steak is cooked to perfection without asking, and there's no interest in the guests. Three waiters, all deeply engrossed in their cell phones. Not once in three hours were we asked if everything was okay. Instead, the noise of constant chairs being moved, as if we were in a furniture warehouse. We definitely won't be back – but if you like being ignored, this is the place for you.

Very tasty steaks and excellent service. The only downside is that the furniture is a bit dated. But this is about the food. There's nothing to complain about. I'd happily go back anytime.

very fair prices. I really enjoyed the food and it arrived super quickly. From this you can of course conclude that the food, at least in part, has already been prepared, but that really didn't bother us. The aperol was a bit thin, so I would have liked a little more pizzazz for the price and the atmosphere was a bit busy or everything was relatively "close together" but that didn't bother me either, which is of course a matter of taste. the tables could be a little cleaner. All in all we were really satisfied and I would come again

Reservations should be made for lunch and dinner

Very disappointing, it was our first time there and we ordered salmon fillet and cordon bleu. The cordon bleu came out of the deep fryer and was in there too long - the meat was so dry that you could hardly swallow it. The salmon fillet was also "fried to death" and just as dry. The only bright spot was the fresh vegetables. There are also some dusty, dirty corners in the restaurant.

As always, it was delicious in the small steakhouse. 🤩😋 The restaurant on the 1st floor above the dm in the high street seems rather inconspicuous, but is absolutely worth a visit. There is a great selection of food - even if you are a vegetarian in the steakhouse… My parents' steak and turkey schnitzel must have tasted excellent and my truffle pasta was simply divine, to die for... Always a pleasure - preferably at the window to watch the colorful hustle and bustle on the high streets...

There were three of us and we didn't order much. Our order was noted, but then the rosemary potatoes and pepper cream sauce were missing. But the entrecote beef steaks were delicious and just right, medium rare. Despite the air conditioning, it was quite warm in the restaurant.
