The Small Steakhouse in Köln

Nine of us showed up spontaneously, and they pushed us together to seat us. The service was super friendly and the food was delicious! Everyone found something they liked. I highly recommend it, and the prices were reasonable, too.

Highly recommended. All the chain restaurants, whose names I don't want to mention, don't stand a chance against this small steakhouse. I'm a trained chain restaurant expert myself and have been working with steaks for years. Everything is just perfect here. Everything is super delicious, and the prices are almost too reasonable. Top!

I've walked past it hungry several times, but the timing was never right. Now, at lunchtime, it finally arrived, and it worked out. The restaurant was busy, but we got a table without any problems, and the service was prompt and attentive throughout. Depending on the dish, the prices are certainly on the higher side, but in my opinion, the value for money is good. We were more than satisfied for a reasonable price, and it was definitely delicious. We'd love to come back...time permitting 😉

This was our first time eating at this steakhouse and we have nothing negative to say. But the second time we went, just wanting a drink, we were turned away even though the restaurant was empty. We were in Cologne as tourists and will definitely not go there again.

Exceptionally good and definitely worth the money! I like that there are both set menus and the option to mix and match everything, choosing the piece, side dish, and sauce yourself.

Service desert with side salad The food was okay, but the service – a true masterpiece of indifference. White wine is simply served without asking which one, the steak is cooked to perfection without asking, and there's no interest in the guests. Three waiters, all deeply engrossed in their cell phones. Not once in three hours were we asked if everything was okay. Instead, the noise of constant chairs being moved, as if we were in a furniture warehouse. We definitely won't be back – but if you like being ignored, this is the place for you.

Very tasty steaks and excellent service. The only downside is that the furniture is a bit dated. But this is about the food. There's nothing to complain about. I'd happily go back anytime.

very fair prices. I really enjoyed the food and it arrived super quickly. From this you can of course conclude that the food, at least in part, has already been prepared, but that really didn't bother us. The aperol was a bit thin, so I would have liked a little more pizzazz for the price and the atmosphere was a bit busy or everything was relatively "close together" but that didn't bother me either, which is of course a matter of taste. the tables could be a little cleaner. All in all we were really satisfied and I would come again

Reservations should be made for lunch and dinner

Very disappointing, it was our first time there and we ordered salmon fillet and cordon bleu. The cordon bleu came out of the deep fryer and was in there too long - the meat was so dry that you could hardly swallow it. The salmon fillet was also "fried to death" and just as dry. The only bright spot was the fresh vegetables. There are also some dusty, dirty corners in the restaurant.

As always, it was delicious in the small steakhouse. 🤩😋 The restaurant on the 1st floor above the dm in the high street seems rather inconspicuous, but is absolutely worth a visit. There is a great selection of food - even if you are a vegetarian in the steakhouse… My parents' steak and turkey schnitzel must have tasted excellent and my truffle pasta was simply divine, to die for... Always a pleasure - preferably at the window to watch the colorful hustle and bustle on the high streets...

There were three of us and we didn't order much. Our order was noted, but then the rosemary potatoes and pepper cream sauce were missing. But the entrecote beef steaks were delicious and just right, medium rare. Despite the air conditioning, it was quite warm in the restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The food was awesome, and the service by the staff was truly exceptional—friendly, attentive, and very helpful throughout. The ambiance was pleasant and comfortable, making it a nice setting to enjoy a good meal. We had the king prawns to start, which were fresh and full of flavor. For the mains, we went with the rumsteaks and the entrecôte, both cooked perfectly medium rare—juicy, tender, and packed with taste. We finished with the strawberry cheesecake, which was the perfect sweet ending to a great meal. Every dish was spot on, and the overall experience was top-notch. Highly recommended!

Seems to be a very popular steakhouse in the heart of Cologne. I had prawns for starters which were unexciting. A bit overcooked and served plain. The steak was a 300gr Rump that was served with a baked potato and salad. It was a good piece of meat. Cooked well to my liking (medium). I'd give the steak a 9. The salad wasn't good in my opinion. The dressing was aggressive and inedible. The baked potato was decent. It is exploding with butter and cream, and is dominantly sweet from the oven and butter. We didn't have desert. The service was quick, pleasant and to the point. We had local beer with our meal, which I personally liked (dry, bitter, light, German lager).

The Kleine Steakhaus in Cologne offers a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. A positive feature is that dogs are welcome, and a water bowl is provided upon request. The menu is concise, but the quality of the dishes leaves much to be desired: the 400g fillet steak tasted only average, and the pasta with prawns disappointed with poor ingredients and bland seasoning. Furthermore, the prices are unreasonable—a bottle of water for €7 seems overpriced. The central location on Schildergasse lacks charm. Overall, the value for money isn't right, so a return visit isn't planned.

The food wasn't bad for the price. The atmosphere was good and people seemed to flock there. However, the server's attitude was not friendly to the visitor. I didn't even ask about how the meat was cooked. The evaluation is average.

The food was very tasty, but your appetite disappears when a mouse is spotted in the restaurant. The waiter saw them, but simply let the guests sit even though the mouse was under the tables.

The food and the service was great. I had the Cordon Bleu and it was very tasty, including the side salad.

We had Bordeaux mushrooms as a starter. Super tasty! A steak (ribeye) and a cordon bleu for the main course. Both were cooked to perfection and the portions were fine. The side dishes (baked potatoes and the vegetable platter) were just as tasty and didn't skimp on the quantity either. The service was nice and very professional. Waiting times were moderate despite the high number of guests. We will definitely dine there again.

Once at the carnival in Cologne there was a challenge with my best friend 🫶, it takes a good foundation 😏 We had a really good meal here and the service was very attentive. We had a wonderful evening together!

Short and sweet. A good steakhouse. I had a grill plate that evening. The meat was fried to a perfect medium rare and tasted really good to me. The staff is friendly and helpful. You visit guests regularly and you don't feel neglected. The restaurant is no longer the newest, but everything is very well maintained. If you want a delicious steak, this is definitely the right place for you.

Ordered steak-Spieβ medium rare and it was cooked as i wanted. Very soft and tender. Great combo with baked potato filled with cream. And what a better way to accompany with a Lagavulin 16. Excellent service and fast. Atmosphere as it should be for a proper steak.

It's that time again for a few clear words in the restaurant industry! The first impression is always clear and simple. A friendly welcome, a clean table and a menu card. Everything was good so far. After I ordered, I could observe how some waiters were just standing around, like, "I don't have anything to do, I could just take a quick look at my cell phone." Hello?!? That's completely dubious people! You can do this during your break! Your guests want to have a nice evening with you and be pampered. So do your job well. Sorry guys, I went a little off topic. I ordered a “Mixed Grill for €27.90” as you can see in the photo. The portion was very manageable. The beef steak tasted great, nice and juicy. I only specifically requested the herb butter, which should actually always be put on the table with a steak. I also liked the turkey steak or rather a piece of turkey fillet and then a minced steak should please my taste buds and what do my eyes see on my plate?!! Now hold on to your hats: “A Burger Patty”! A bland and unseasoned normal patty is declared as a "steak" and the waiter knows that it has been served for a long time. I found THAT very bold of management to fleece the paying customer's wallet. Then I ask myself, how much did my cola cost if I paid a total of €33.10? A little over €5? Or were those the fries instead of the dry baked potatoes, or the pieces of herb butter that were already packed together from the fridge? There's something wrong with you if you're trying to rip me off. Then make a proper invoice where I can understand everything I'm paying and not a scrapbook that just has a number on it with a little scribble. From now on I will find out what my order looks like before I order it. I'm curious how patient the waiters can be on my next visit. This time I was really very disappointed with the little steak house!! I hope it gets better...

The service was good. We were greeted warmly and got our food quickly. The ambience was also great. Had a great seat by the window. We had turkey steak with vegetables and grilled potatoes with salad. The steak and vegetables were very tasty. The salad wasn't quite to my taste but OK. Unfortunately, I hardly had any grilled potatoes on my plate. It was already wrapped and very mealy. Add a huge portion of sour cream on top. The chili cheeseburger was quite good. You'll definitely get full and the price is right.

Great little steakhouse. We had garlic mushrooms to start. For mains I had the lamb cutlets and my boyfriend had the 400g rump steak. Food was amazing, only slight issue was my boyfriend asked for his steak to be cooked medium, and it was more on the rare side. Cocktails were also lovely.

Went here a few days ago. Ordered a ribeye, got a rump. Mushroom sauce was still had lumps of uncooked roux, condiments where served in McDonald's style sachets. Fries are cheap frozen supermarket fries which where hard and dry. The only thing I liked where the serving staff who where great.

The burger and the goulash were very good. Unfortunately the burger bun wasn't on the grill and was therefore very dry.

We ate here for the first time today with our 8 year old daughter. Great ambience, extremely friendly service, very good price-performance ratio, super tasty steak and baked potato. What impressed us was the children's menu. Tasty dishes are offered for €6.90. Our daughter chose a schnitzel with fries. The portion was equivalent to an adult portion and it was super tasty. We'll definitely be back ✨

As every year when we are in Cologne over Christmas, we visit the small steakhouse. Not easy to find if you're a stranger (it's on the first floor of the shopping street and you don't look up that often) but the view of the people at the rear is all the better. In my opinion, price/performance is very good. We have never been disappointed. The waiters are very friendly and the food comes to the table very quickly, even though the restaurant was always full when we visited.

Ate here with a friend. Arrived without a reservation and was told until what time a spot was available. We both had the schnitzel (turkey or pork variant). After ordering, a simple, but delicious salad and a bread basket soon arrived on the table, as well as our ordered drinks. This came standard with the main course. Food was very tasty. Service was fast and friendly. Location perhaps less convenient, because if we hadn't looked it up, I think we would have walked past it. Located in the shopping street on the 1st floor. There are stairs and an elevator.

Small restaurant in the main street of Cologne, adequate service. We ordered the mixed grill 3 times and it was excellent! The service doesn't ask how you want it prepared, but it is wonderfully tender the way they prepare it as standard. They are generous with the portions, we couldn't finish the main course. Top restaurant on a busy Sunday evening!

We had dinner here 9 years ago and yesterday we had a delicious meal again. I had tried the flank steak and it was cooked perfectly. Everyone else was happy too and we had a great time. I would also like to emphasize that there is even a lunch menu on Saturdays with discounted menu offers.

Good steak but bad service. The older waiter with glasses stopped smiling the moment we asked for the lunch menu. If you're reluctant to sell lunch menu, stop promoting it then. There was an accident with spilled drink on the table and he grumbled as he came to clean it up, and never even bother to ask if we want to order another drink, which isn't smart for a waiter, first he forgot to upsell, and second it is just plain service after you see the customer has no more drink on the table. We have had it with the service by then, so we didn't bother to order anything else. He only smile when it's about time to present the bill and he had the gall to ask for tip. Wow. We certainly will not come back. Plenty other places serves great steaks in town.

Were yesterday December 14th. on a little men's tour. I got a nice recommendation for this restaurant beforehand. What can I say, it was worth it. The food and service were just great... Maybe again next time when we start our men's culture trip from the Moselle towards Cologne..☺️
