Our evening at Blockhaus Bonn was a complete success. The steak recommended by the chef was a culinary highlight – perfectly prepared and tasted outstanding. What particularly impressed us, however, was the warm hospitality: Both the chef and the entire team welcomed us with exceptional friendliness. We felt as if we were staying with good friends. Anyone who doesn't visit this restaurant is definitely missing out on a special gastronomic experience. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team – we'll definitely see you again! Everything is great. Had a good meal with 4 adults and one child. You can't complain about the price. Mr. Rabih Zakzak is a very nice and courteous innkeeper. Happy to come again :)

Service was good, the staff friendly. The ambience is a bit dated, but OK. The food, however, was disappointing: My “burger” only consisted of a slice of bread and a patty – without any presentation. This does not correspond to the expectations that one can expect from a restaurant of this brand. Ideally, a visit should make you want to try the brand’s products. Unfortunately completely missed.

Mr. Zakzak the King brought me my perfectly cooked steak after an unbelievable 1(!) minute! Great service and super tasty, I'll definitely be back! 🫶

It could have been good. They have everything for that. But... My online order was discovered only after I came to pick it up. The steak was cold (2 minutes after pickup) and barely medium, even though I ordered a well-done. The salad and baked potato were actually good. But, emotionally - that's 40 EUR wasted. I ended up having to cook the steak myself. Won't be coming here again.

The restaurant is nicely designed and well located, and the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately the steak was one of the worst I've ever eaten. It was dry and chewy.

I had a meal there at lunchtime on April 6th, I had a mixed salad before the main course, a ribeye steak with fries. All in all, a great restaurant with a beautiful view

Really enjoyed this place with good steak and German beer. Got the Rumpsteak which is very well done and juicy. The staff were very friendly and supportive.

We had a wonderful visit to Block House Köln on Rudolfplatz - especially thanks to the great waiter Younus. He was incredibly friendly, helpful and extremely warm, especially to our little daughter. His attentiveness and his warm, friendly manner made the meal a very special experience for us. Younus is the heart of this restaurant – thank you for this lovely evening! Blok House is a price performance chain that can be preferred by those who want to eat quality meat without risking the steak house in Europe. Meat salad and wine are good quality and reasonably priced.

I ate at Block House for the first time a few months ago in Hamburg and was very satisfied! So reserve a table in Cologne on Saturday evening! A completely different atmosphere awaited me in Cologne than in Hamburg, but still cool and rustic! The food was again totally convincing, delicious and to the point! Our service person was a great and attentive host! Thank you very much for this!!👍🏻

Very good food, large selection of dishes, little waiting time

The evening was saved with the first appearance of the service employee. A Cologne Arab with the hatred op de Zong. World class, the man knows his business! His colleague was in no way inferior to him. Real professionals! We felt well looked after and every order was a bit EXTRA fun. The food was attractively prepared and tasted very good. The prices are in the upper midfield for Cologne and quite reasonable. In short... It would have been fun and we'd have fun again.

Really everything is perfect. The steaks are amazing, the price is more than fair, the ambience is first class in terms of both the furnishings and the view and the service is super super nice and guest-oriented. Hopefully everything stays that way.

Reserved a table spontaneously on Friday evening and got it. Top! Arrival from Salzburg and spent a single evening in Cologne after a business meeting. Unfortunately we weren't really satisfied... It took 15 minutes until we received the menus, and that only after asking... We both ordered the same dish and the salad with the same dressing. Steak medium. Lots of herb butter!!! We got steak briefly fried, almost raw, no herb butter and different dressing for the salad. This meant that we had to have our dishes returned and received them back at different times. We ate the salad as it was. Herb butter only came when requested. It was about a slice of salami thick and that for two people. Hard to believe. After further requests we were given a little more and when we continued to fry the same meat, new potatoes and bread were added. Service was sometimes very friendly when we were noticed. Conclusion: things could have gone better...

I'm so disappointed. Pepper sauce botched. The pepper sauce used to be perfect. Then recently someone had the idea of ​​changing the recipe. Now it's a way too sweet, disgusting sugar sauce. It's a shame, for me that was always the best thing about the Blockhouse. Otherwise everything was TOP!

We often go to this facility and think it's really great. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is cozy. This time waiter Ivan served us. He is really professional and customer oriented. He knows how to do his job 100%.

Yesterday (11.Feb.2025), we went to the Block House in Köln to celebrate a Birthday. We had such a wonderful experience, the service was excellent, the food delicious, the staff always nice, and at the end they gave her a Birthday Present. 🥰🥰🥰 I loved the place, I recommend it 100%. 👏👏👏👏 I will come back for sure. 🫶🫶🫶 Thanks Block House, since some time ago in some other restaurants in Köln they haven’t treated us very well. Good meat, great sauces and side dishes with a central location on Rudolfplatz. The crowning glory was the great waiter “Der Kölsch Maroc”, who made the evening special with his good mood and attentive service. We'll be back soon!

There are many steakhouses along the Rhine River, which makes me feel like I want to eat steak in addition to pig's feet in Germany. Not many restaurants were open in Cologne on Sunday. I happened to see this steakhouse and thought it looked familiar. After checking, it turned out that a blogger had recommended it. Many Taiwanese people in Germany would take their friends to eat there. In terms of price, I don’t think it is very expensive. There were many people dining during Sunday dinner time. Although I didn't make a reservation, I could still be seated when I arrived around six o'clock. This time I ordered MRS.RUMPSTEAK without ordering another drink. The steak was about 180g. I chose medium rare. It didn’t taste too old, dry or raw. It was just right! There is salt and pepper on the side for seasoning. I mainly eat it with pepper. I don't like the potato sour cream so much, so I also eat the potato with pepper. The portion of the side dish is also amazing. There is also a salad plate, a potato larger than a steak, and bread. Girls don’t have to worry about not being full. Anyway, if you don’t eat enough protein, there are still carbohydrates to eat (?) There are three sauces to choose from on the salad plate. I chose the American dressing recommended by the clerk, which actually feels like Thousand Island dressing 🤣 I think a portion of 23 euros is not bad. Simply magnificent. The steak and salad are perfect. You definitely need to make a reservation before coming to this place. It is impossible to find a place.

On the phone (2 weeks ago): “we don’t make reservations and don’t need you!” At the entrance in a cheeky tone: “Have you reserved? If not, you’ll have to wait!” Oh no, I thought there was no reservation… Steaks were well and perfectly cooked, the turkey steak was tiny and when I pointed it out to the boss, all he said was “it's always like that for us, it's just 140g (of course it's not there)”. Employees are nice and courteous, even if a little overworked, the boss should get off his high horse.

If you like a jovial, first-name welcome, this is the place for you. We only received the lunch menu when we asked; Upon further request, a second one for my companion. At the next table a guest was talking on the phone with a loudspeaker (familiar from the train). The waitress said that this is common here. I have my headphones on on the train, but in the restaurant... So next time to the quiet and friendly Asian. Tofu is healthier anyway.

The quality of the steaks was outstanding – perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. The menu offered a great variety to suit all tastes, including excellent side dishes and beverages.

Waiter was friendly and funny. But I didn't get my dessert order and no one came to ask. For the price I would have expected better service. The dessert was even charged at the end.

I had filet medallions with potato gratin and vegetables. The "medallions" were 2 wafer-thin slices of beef, the potato gratin from the bag and the vegetables carrots, salsify and Brussels sprouts. Last night I was once again in this great Block House in Cologne. Just like the last few times in the last few months, I was served by Enzo. Enzo already knew what I wanted and recommended a few refinements, which he even brought “on the house”. Simply great! Thank you very much, dear Enzo! As always, the meat was cooked to perfection with a wonderful crust. The whole thing was served at lightning speed, so the waiting time was hardly measurable. I was allowed to choose the table by the window myself. We had dinner with the family at the Block House for our birthday. The service (Enzo) was extremely friendly and warm. We felt really welcome! We were also impressed by the food, even the vegetarian options were great. The ambience rounded off our evening.

We celebrated my husband's birthday in the Blockhaus Cologne. We really like going there because you not only get a very good steak, but also because you always receive exceptionally friendly service. This time Mr. Zakzak looked after us wonderfully. We recently dined here with three people, including one pescatarian and one with lactose intolerance. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet expectations, especially given the price range. The fish dish was disappointing—dry, a small portion, and overly reliant on sauce, lacking the feel of a complete meal. For the lactose-intolerant guest, there were repeated issues with dishes containing milk, despite prior notice. While the staff resolved these mistakes professionally, the constant need to double-check ingredients made it difficult to relax. The service was friendly and attentive, but the food quality and attention to dietary needs were below par for the price.

Food tasted great. Unfortunately the service wasn't that good. We asked twice for mayo and ketchup and they didn't come until we were finished eating. Drinks also took a long time to arrive. In addition, guests were watching videos at the neighboring table, which was very annoying and didn't create a nice atmosphere. I expect more from the Block House and am disappointed that the waiters don't take action. So unfortunately I can only give it 3/5 stars even though the food tasted very good.

Like being fed gold. The food is absolutely amazing, there are hardly any words to describe it. The various dishes are perfectly coordinated and harmonize perfectly with the drinks on offer. A true dream! Also very friendly and attentive waiters and a wonderful atmosphere. Very chic and cozy at the same time. We were absolutely satisfied!

this is the one of the worst burgers ive eaten during any of my travels. Our waiter was rude to us and didnt want to help us. we ordered a medium rare steak and they gave us one thats well done

Me and my family visited this restaurant in early November. The visit to this establishment was a bit strange and I thought for a long time whether I should write this review. I would like to mention the restaurant's layout as generally positive. It looks very nice and inviting and has a typical American steakhouse style. Despite the high number of visitors, the service was fast, reliable and friendly. The food was again only tolerable. The steak was good quality but comparatively small and the fries were as thin as microwave fries or McDonalds fries. The salad was also puny and you had to specifically order sauces, which is not so common in most of the restaurants where I frequent. When you order a steak you are asked directly what sauce you would like. What made the whole visit so strange was a small note on a stand on the table. It said that people should be understanding about smaller portions because "the politicians in Berlin and Brussels" have made shopping for food so expensive and they want to relieve the burden on the guest. That seemed strange to me because I've eaten in a variety of restaurants since the energy crisis and even in the countryside I've had good, large steaks with automatic sauce and decent fries. Of course, it could also be that we were the victim of a prankster, but he printed the restaurant's logo on the paper. So he or she should have put a lot of effort into it. But if this actually reflects the restaurant's opinion, I don't know if I would want to visit the restaurant again. Everyone has their own opinion, sure, but I don't trust anyone who uses the energy crisis as an excuse to serve customers half portions even though other restaurants can do it too.

The food was, as just described, first class. It was hot and the waiting time was reasonable. The atmosphere is friendly and cozy. Gladly again.

My husband and I decided to spontaneously go to this establishment. We had to wait a bit as there were a lot of people on Saturday evening. It was nice while waiting to receive an unexpected compliment from the restaurant in the form of a glass of red wine. The steak was tasty, well cooked. I liked the side dish in the form of baked potatoes with sauce. Thanks to this establishment for a pleasant time spent.

The Block House in Cologne city center is consistently convincing: friendly and lightning-fast service, coupled with excellent taste in every bite. The typical Block House quality delivers what it promises – a truly successful dining experience.

After sitting at the table we asked our waiter in German whether he spoke English, he said he didn’t which was absolutely fine. Unfortunately from this point the service was non-existent and generally just rude. The food was great, my steak was more rare than medium rare but this wasn’t an issue (not that anyone ever checked). The waiter put our salads down at the end of the table and walked off (not in front of us despite the fact we had no food at the time). Once we had finished our mains we waited over 30 minutes with our empty plates in front of us and no one even looked at us, it was like the waiter was making a point of ignoring us. Eventually we wanted to leave so I called the manager over and said to him we had been waiting for our plates to be cleared and would like the bill. His response was ‘it is full tonight’ no apology or anything, no one around us had the same treatment and funnily enough the waiter was then there in 30 seconds with the bill and card machine. I don’t expect people to speak English, we can make do with our broken German but it felt from this point we were just disregarded. Given this is opposite a Christmas market I think the attitude needs to change.

It's all ok! Beautiful view of Rudolfplatz Christmas market. delicious beer, nice wines and of course tasty steak! Priced at a very high level. But occasionally it's ok.

It was a great evening with absolutely perfectly fried steak. All 9 and the dog were super happy. If we are in Cologne again we will definitely come by!

I made a reservation by phone, arrived on site and was then told that nothing had been reserved, no tables were available and that I could wait to see if anything became available. If you make a reservation I expect a table, that's not possible! I am massively disappointed with the Cologne branch and am not used to something like this from the main branches in Hamburg.

The food was a 4/5, the service was 3/5 I felt like the waiter didn't want to do his job (no smile, doesn't even look at you when you talk to him), but oh well. Ambiance was a 5/5

Only 30% of the total capacity can be booked in advance. The rest of the tables are made available for more spontaneous customers. We waited 10-15 minutes for the stairs in Stegen (there is space at the bottom, you could perhaps use it as a waiting room. But then a colleague at the bottom should always communicate with the colleagues at the top). Enzo is particularly nice 👍 The meat (rib eye mastercut) was good. Medium well (or rare at Madame) was also correctly executed. A table by the window is recommended. Suggestion for improvement: add cocktails and chimichurri to the menu.

After my first visit at lunchtime, I unfortunately have to report negative experiences, especially regarding the quality of the food. The side salad was at university cafeteria level, the rib-eye steaks were ordered medium but were served raw to medium/raw, and the meat was stringy and gristly. There was also a dry piece of garlic baguette, which would have tasted better freshly baked from the frozen food chest at Netto. Only the baked potato was of an acceptable standard Overall, given the cost of around €30 for the lunch menu, I have to recommend visiting another restaurant if you're hungry for steak. At least the service was very friendly
