We had the T-bone steak three times and the filet mignon once. The meat was good. However, I felt the food looked rather hastily thrown onto the plate. The service also seemed very stressed (many small mistakes). The restaurant was completely full, though. I thought the price was very reasonable for what was offered.

Delicious food with a varied view! My birthday was treated like a pampering session, complete with a serenade! So thoughtful!

It's a restaurant I definitely eat at every time I visit Germany, with its delicious menus. I especially recommend the goulash soup.

The steaks were of excellent quality and incredibly tasty. The service was also excellent, very attentive and friendly. There was also a small children's menu, and our daughter loved the Magic Burger. It was a very enjoyable evening. I definitely recommend it.

The steak was still partially raw, and I was missing a spoon for the potato. In the end, we were "kicked out" because the table for 6 was apparently reserved again. Never again!!

I was there a few days ago to have dinner with some friends. I had to leave earlier than everyone else, so I paid for my meal with my credit card. Unfortunately, I didn't check the bill until a few days later, and the entire table was charged! I said I'd like to pay, but not for everyone, just for my meal. So be careful when paying and always ask for the bill!

We were greeted very warmly and shown to our table. The food was good and the wait was short.

My Mrs. Block steak had a huge chunk of fat on it. This really annoyed me, considering the already tender 180g steak. Despite having a reservation and the early hour, the waiter was very rushed and took my plate while I was still chewing. It seemed unfriendly and uncomfortable.

Lunch deal was very good value. Side salad was very big. The waitress was very professional and service was good.

Honestly? Super friendly service, fast service, the food arrived within 5 minutes (starter) and 15 minutes (main course). Everything was very lovingly prepared, and the staff were up for a little fun. The location is perfect (right next to the train and bus station). All in all, a visit is worth it! The atmosphere is great. You immediately feel welcome :)

Very tasty food, super attentive service.

The price-performance ratio isn't right. I had the 300g prime steak. I had to add a lot more salt because it tasted almost like nothing. The fat on the outside was hard to chew, and the baked potato didn't have enough sauce. Overall, it was okay, but simply not worth the price. The whole experience was pretty unloving. I'd rather make my own steak at home.

The waiter left us standing at the door as if we were transparent. Maybe it's because we're Asian.

We eat here at least once a week and have never been disappointed. While it would be understandable given our frequency, we've never been. However, if something is different from usual, they apologize and offer a solution. Block Haus in Cologne is absolutely a heartfelt recommendation! :)

My friend and I stood at the door for five minutes, and no one greeted us or seated us. Yet, there are many servers in the restaurant. Are the servers there racist against Asian customers? I have to ask myself. It's interesting because the white couple in front of us were greeted within 30 seconds. ;(

Hello Block House! My wife and I were really happy at first, after frequent visits to BH in Hamburg, to now also have BH in Cologne. Apart from Hamburg, we usually had to go to BH in Düsseldorf. That's not the case anymore. Our last visit to Cologne was the icing on the cake! Our orders were repeatedly supplemented, with subsequent additions to soup, salad, etc. The waiter kept bringing something different. BUT THAT ONLY HAPPENED ONCE PER VISIT. A few days ago, AFTER a 45-minute wait, I approached a tattooed waitress who said, "SMALL PROBLEM IN THE KITCHEN... THE FOOD WILL BE HERE IN 5 MINUTES." IT TOOK ANOTHER 15 MINUTES!! The tattooed waitress wanted to apologize with an espresso on the house. My wife, a Hamburg native who introduced me to BH, is SUPER DISAPPOINTED...

We had an unforgettable evening at the Block House in Cologne. My mother invited us there for her birthday, and we thoroughly enjoyed the very friendly atmosphere and the freshly prepared food. A big thank you to the entire team for making my mother's birthday a special experience. We would love to come back and highly recommend the restaurant!

We were there for lunch today and had the steak from the lunch special. It was really good, the salad was also delicious, and the service was professional and friendly. The restrooms were absolutely clean. A real highlight, which isn't always the case. Fantastic!

A great restaurant with delicious food and charming service. It's recommended to make a reservation and then plan your visit at your leisure. Parking is a bit tricky, as is typical for Cologne, but there are a few parking garages nearby.

The food there is great and the service outstanding. The restaurant manager (Mr. Zak) does a fantastic job, and you feel valued as a guest. I'm thrilled with this restaurant – you rarely find such quality and service these days. The view of Rudolfplatz is fantastic.

We didn't even want to return the steak, we simply told the waitress. Then the manager came and immediately banned us from the premises. Besides, it wasn't about the grilling at all, it was about the steak being cold!!! You liars! After all that, my mother and I tried again after more than a month because the whole thing happened to my father. My mother and I went in, we got a seat, and 5 minutes later, the manager came again and asked us to leave the building immediately because we and our husbands were banned from the premises. My mother then said, "My daughter just wants a salad, she's having a baby and would like it, and we only want to take it with us." The manager then told us it wasn't even for takeout. We were treated like that just because my father once complained about a cold steak!

The Block House in Cologne really should be able to afford new and better chefs! Out of the 10 times I've been there, my food was bad 9 times. It either came out wrong or cold! The waiters always get annoyed really quickly. I don't even know what the manager does for a living :) They can't get anything done in the Cologne Block House branch other than quickly banning customers from the premises if they complain about the food, which is ridiculous. This restaurant in Cologne is very disappointing. I'm actually very used to Block House from Düsseldorf etc. PS: IF YOU WANT A BAD STEAK, GO TO BLOCK HOUSE IN COLOGNE :)

We were here with two school classes. We spontaneously requested a meal the night before and were absolutely pleasantly surprised by how professionally we were served. The orders were taken super quickly, and the food arrived just as quickly. The waiters were always friendly and made sure everything met the students' wishes. We all had a unique, unforgettable evening, and for the students, it will remain the highlight of their graduation trip for a long time to come. Thank you so much for everything!

We were actually regular customers here and were usually very satisfied. Sometimes we visited once a week. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined significantly! The cuts are getting smaller and smaller, while prices are rising. The meat quality has declined the most. The meat was never fibrous or particularly sinewy (B-grade). I can't recommend it at this point. Even the garlic bread wasn't fresh the last two times, but rather sticky because it had been reheated. The salad alone is still as good as it used to be. Such a shame. We're going to La Casona for now and might try Block House again later.

I love the Block House. I'm so glad Cologne now has one. Great food, a fantastic view, and always friendly staff. (You can tell that waiter Younes, in particular, loves his job.) We always enjoy coming back!

Stakes. Period. Great meat, done to your taste and melts in your mouth. Yes, it is a chain restaurant, but even chains can be excellent.

Great Blockhouse. Our waiter, Younes, was a true Cologne native, super polite, very funny, but also very attentive. When ordering the salad, my wife heard bounty sauce instead of cocktail sauce. The food itself was as good as expected. Highly recommended. My thanks go to Younes

The food was good, as usual. We weren't really that hungry, though, so we only had appetizers and a few drinks. We had to ask the waiter three times for the bill. It finally arrived. No "please," no "thank you." Just a strained "goodbye." But I don't think so...

Hey! We (4 adults + a slightly older child 😉) had reserved a table for 8:30 p.m. However, we arrived almost two hours early. Mr. Zakzak greeted us warmly and, despite the full house, managed to get us a seat. The drinks didn't take long... and the food arrived quickly, too. We weren't used to that from another restaurant in Cologne. The salad was fresh and crisp, the meat juicy and tender, and the mushrooms and potatoes were delicious. I personally didn't order potatoes, but fries, but that wasn't a problem at all... I also got a huge portion of fries, which was on the house. The food was, without exception, of excellent quality, the restrooms clean, and the staff couldn't have made our stay more enjoyable. Many thanks to Mr. Zakzak and Naomi

After encountering closed doors at other restaurants twice before, we finally landed at Block House on Habsburgerring. Our expectations: solid quality and reliable service – as we've come to expect from Block House in Hamburg or Berlin. The food was, as expected, very good: fresh salad, steaks cooked to perfection, and drinks served quickly from the bar. Unfortunately, the service in the dining room couldn't keep up. We were assigned a seat in the back corner, but we arrived without a reservation. However, we were initially forgotten and had to ask for attention several times before our orders were taken. This seemed disorganized, especially on a Gamescom evening, when one would expect more business in Cologne anyway. Particularly unfortunate: The restaurant manager expressed his displeasure in front of the guests about the small number of waiters – an unprofessional impression. Friendliness and a smile seemed to be in short supply that evening. This makes Britta stand out all the more. She personally attended to our visit at the end, listened attentively and kindly to our criticism, and then finished off our visit with a conciliatory gesture: a waffle with compote. That was true hospitality and an example of what service should be like. In conclusion: top-notch food, service could be improved. If you end up at Block House Cologne, try not to sit at a table in the corner—and hope that Britta will take care of you.

Very very friendly staff excellent food and service

There's always such beautiful singing here in the evenings. Jaques, with his barrel organ and little monkey, is coming by again now (there must have been an argument about the tip). Occasionally, they have themed evenings. World War I, Star Trek, 70s disco... all the guests and staff are always dressed up. On Maria's fortieth birthday, Mike Krüger even came and sang a few songs on acoustic guitar. It was a very nice evening. Greetings to Marko and Sascha!

Pretty standard fare for a steak 🥩 house but we liked the inclusive pricing and the service was first class so a solid option for dinner. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the meat - and the chocolate chip ice cream was delicious 😋

You feel so well looked after. Very rare these days. The meat is super tender and grilled to perfection. The service is simply excellent, and the staff are very friendly and relaxed. I wouldn't consider any other steakhouse.

First of all, the service was excellent. However, the food was only average for us. For example, the sauce for the medallions and the potato gratin didn't taste fresh. The meat was generally good. However, overall, it's too expensive for what you get.

Unfortunately, the food was just below average. But that was mainly due to the staff. The waiter thought he could remember four orders without any problem, so what can I say? A few things were mixed up. In general, I'm used to much better food from Blockhouse. A shandy was 80% Sprite. A steak that felt like it had more fat than meat. The only good thing was the fresh salad.

We've been here twice already. Once between Christmas and once on a Saturday in July. Both visits were very pleasant! 1. The location is great, the restaurant is very easy to reach by train (the stop is right outside). I can't comment on parking. 2. The restaurant is very clean and air-conditioned, which is very pleasant in the summer. 3. The service staff are very friendly, and the wait times are very short both at the reception and at the table. 4. The restrooms are clean and are proper rooms (not cubicles)!! 5. The food – wow. We particularly enjoyed the rump steak, the garlic bruschetta, and the American red wine. 6. The ambiance is very pleasant. We only had to wait a little longer for the bill both times, but this was completely acceptable. All in all, it was top notch, and we'd love to come back!! :)

Delicious food, large portions, and friendly service. The drinks could have been a bit larger, though. The restaurant is on the upper floor.

Unfortunately, the rib eye had a few too many tendons and was more rare than medium-rare. The coleslaw and salad were great.

I ate there with my boyfriend today. We were served by the lovely waiter, Younes. He was very engaging, a top host, and always had a funny saying. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was top-notch. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

The food is high quality, but the burger doesn't deserve its name. You only get a burger and a piece of bread. It was explained beforehand that the burger would be served differently than usual, but that wasn't clear and, in my opinion, it doesn't make sense. The ambiance is nice, but the tables are extremely close together. I could barely sit down or stand up. Unfortunately, service sometimes took a very long time, even though the restaurant was perhaps only 50% full.

We had a wonderful experience at Block House Restaurant in Cologne while celebrating my dad’s 70th birthday with our family visiting from Malaysia. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We truly appreciated that they spoke English and made us feel right at home, especially as international guests. A special thank you to the manager, who surprised us with complimentary prosecco to toast to my dad’s birthday—it was such a thoughtful touch. The food was absolutely delicious, with high-quality meat at very reasonable prices. To top it all off, the manager even gifted my dad a steak pepper as a birthday present, which made the evening even more memorable. Our evening at the Blockhaus Bonn was a complete success. The steak recommended by the boss was a culinary highlight - cooked to perfection and tasted outstanding. Service was good, the staff friendly. The ambience is a bit dated, but OK. The food, however, was disappointing: My “burger” only consisted of a slice of bread and a patty – without any presentation. This does not correspond to the expectations that one can expect from a restaurant of this brand. Ideally, a visit should make you want to try the brand’s products. Unfortunately completely missed.

It could have been good. They have everything for that. But... My online order was discovered only after I came to pick it up. The steak was cold (2 minutes after pickup) and barely medium, even though I ordered a well-done. The salad and baked potato were actually good. But, emotionally - that's 40 EUR wasted. I ended up having to cook the steak myself. Won't be coming here again.

The restaurant is nicely designed and well located, and the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately the steak was one of the worst I've ever eaten. It was dry and chewy.

We had a wonderful visit to Block House Köln on Rudolfplatz - especially thanks to the great waiter Younus. He was incredibly friendly, helpful and extremely warm, especially to our little daughter. Really enjoyed this place with good steak and German beer. Got the Rumpsteak which is very well done and juicy. The staff were very friendly and supportive.
