Small but fine inn with exceptionally cheerful service. Great food, great ambience👌

Table reservation (via email) worked. Sauerbraten test was rather unsuccessful, dry, little if at all pickled meat, dumplings floury and sticky, salad side dish very simple... After exactly an hour of existence (we didn't want to order anything else) we were told that the table was urgently needed. We chose the restaurant because of the good reviews, but it didn't meet our expectations.

Great evening!!! Food was great, 16 people, everyone was served their warm food at the same time. Decent portions, good cuisine. Ambience very pleasant. Service very good, friendly, funny, very attentive, very fast. We were served by the boss. Definitely coming back.

Food very tasty. All my friends praised it, a demanding friend said the mushroom and meat sauce was a bit too cold, but I had the same thing so it was very warm. Maybe he likes it hot and scalding. The high level has not changed for years. Nice, professional and stylish service. Stained glass windows emphasize the atmosphere of the Old Town. The historic decor evokes a church atmosphere.

Went here for dinner during our girls weekend and were very impressed. Food and service were great.

This inn is small and cozy. We hadn't made a reservation and got the last table, which turned out to be a stroke of luck. We sat behind a room divider and had a lovely time there. The service was very friendly and advised us on the choice of dishes. We weren't disappointed, both beer meat and sauerbraten were delicious and the portion was just right. The beer was also a great recommendation. Due to the lack of bars in Görlitz, we went back and played cards and had something to drink. The toilets are also very funny 😉 Thumbs up for this place.

We were visiting some of our family in Görlitz this weekend and were guided here. We liked it so much that we came back the next day. The food was great, the service had Saxon charm and the atmosphere was appropriate and humorous. Thank you for the great time ❤️

First of all: unbeatable service (chef)! A really likeable man from Görlitz, with whom we got along really well and laughed the whole evening. You rarely experience something like that. Thanks for the lovely Wednesday evening! Restaurant is a little bit away from the market and the more touristy restaurants, which is why we were there. The ambience is simply great, not far away, but cozier, more authentic. The food was very good, and of course the beer was special. We recommend it with the best of conscience and hope to have a good time there again the next time we visit Görlitz! Thanks! ♡

Very friendly staff and excellent food in a cozy atmosphere. We'd love to come back.

After a quick registration, we set up with a larger group. As soon as we arrived, a very friendly and, above all, funny employee was there very quickly. (We sat outside.) Here you can tell from the start that someone is having fun, providing great service and not just doing a job. When you look at the menu you notice that the prices are not through the roof like elsewhere and that there is a reasonable selection. All the dishes came at the same time or one after the other (people only have two arms). The taste was absolutely great!! Thanks to the staff, the entire stay was an absolute experience and tasted excellent. As already mentioned, it didn't hurt in terms of price, although it wasn't just the main course and drink. Clear recommendation and we will be back!

Following a spontaneous inspiration, we ended up at the Wirtshaus Zur Altstadt during our stay in Görlitz. Despite a group size of over 10 people, we immediately found space in the rustic outdoor area for Sunday evening. The food and service were excellent. The staff impressed with their professionalism and were by no means at a loss for a rude comment and fun on the side! All in all, it was a very fun and successful evening that we will certainly remember for a long time. We'd love to come back.

Excellent service despite many guests. The waitress and waiter always had a good time despite the stress and there were no waiting times for drinks and food. Praise also to the kitchen, the food was very tasty 😋. We'll be back soon if possible.

We had a nice meal outside, but it's also very nice inside. We were served very attentively and friendly and the food was good and plentiful. The sour meat with fried potatoes was tasty, but the sour meat could have been seasoned a little more.

It was the best decision to visit this inn. Very nice, funny service. We felt very, very comfortable. The atmosphere is simply quaint and cozy. The food was super delicious, something for everyone. Even though we live in the old federal states, as Görlitzers we like to come back on every next visit home. Our friends from Wiesbaden also felt very comfortable. Very pleasant. My food like family. That's what I'm used to in my home country. The right dumplings, the right roulade and filling. The red cabbage was very good. The right beer and great service. Simply good!

- menus almost unreadable in bad light - salads with no idea, you can make better ones at home, the bread with them is hard - cola for about 4 euros, not even original, just some kind of powder similar to, for example, from KFC - bad air - the only dish I can recommend is the baked chicken steak

We liked it very much! There is delicious home cooking here, as well as appealing children's dishes and 2 vegetarian dishes on the menu. The children thought the children's schnitzel was really tasty! The waiter was very nice and the rustic atmosphere is great.

Unfortunately, as a customer, it is incomprehensible to me that a pub that is open from 5 p.m. to midnight is not able to enter online when the kitchen closes. The result was that I, as a customer, only found out in the pub at 8.30 p.m. that the kitchen was already closed. Then for me it's not a tavern but a drinking hall.

Delicious food at moderate prices, you get something for your money here, a large portion - great! The waiter was quick and friendly and served in a guest-oriented manner. I would be happy to recommend this inn without hesitation.

Yesterday we were there with 11 people on the occasion of our mother's 79th birthday, it was well attended, you have to have a little patience with freshly prepared food. The food was delicious, everyone had something different and everyone was happy, the service was really nice and also funny despite the full house, again a real compliment to Mr. Runge and the entire team, we'll be happy to come back, thank you

In its own way Nice staff. Excellent food, highly recommended: schnitzel Jäger style, a small salad and 1a. Unfortunately I misunderstood and only one schnitzel and salad came, BUT within 5 minutes the two were with us too. 😅. Overall it is recommended.

Rather inconspicuous from the outside, but when you walk into the inn, it's just WOW! We immediately felt at home, the service was there straight away and made us feel as if we were sitting at our mother's dinner table. According to the waitress, it was very crowded, so you'll have to wait a long time to eat. That was completely fine for us, but it doesn't justify the poor quality of the food. The fried potatoes offered were still cold inside and never saw a pan. Unfortunately they only tasted like old boiled potatoes. When paying, we wanted to look at the bill before inserting the debit card and were urged to pay quickly otherwise the process would be canceled... It's a shame, despite the nice atmosphere outside in the sun and the service that made an effort, definitely not again! Only ok for drinking beer

We had booked a table for the youth consecration. From ordering to saying goodbye, you feel very comfortable in the inn. The atmosphere is wonderfully cozy. The toilet area was very well maintained and beautifully designed. The service receives absolute praise, very friendly and always with a funny saying on their lips. Went for our 1 year old this evening. Eat there. Were super satisfied. Food for the kids was sufficient and tasty. Our meal we had the goulash which was so tender with homemade red cabbage. Great. Great service 👍 Only recommended.

Today, after a long journey from near Aachen, we spontaneously visited the Wirthaus Zur Altstadt and were not disappointed with our choice. After a friendly welcome, we were assigned a table, handed over the cards and waited patiently. Our requests were then taken into account and the drinks were served in a reasonable time. The food was freshly prepared. We bridged the time until completion with another glass of beer. After the meal, which we really enjoyed - Silesian Heaven and Silesian Roast - we asked for a local distributor, which was served to us in the form of Böckelbart. Yummy. All in all a successful evening. Gladly again.

Since we were in Görlitz for a weekend, we of course wanted to eat well and properly. In the inn (the name goes well with the ambience) we had the old town pan, very tasty food and the service was very friendly and accommodating. When we are back in Görlitz we would love to come by again.
