The Flying Kitchen in Norden

A very nice restaurant with comfortable seating and tasteful decor. The service staff was very attentive, quick, and helpful, and the food was absolutely delicious. The menu seems to change seasonally; in our case, it was the winter menu. The music could have been a touch quieter.

Best restaurant in Norddeich; if you like good steaks, this is the place to go, but the burgers, salads, etc. are also excellent… everything is fresh and of very high quality. The staff is super friendly and the owner really takes care of everything. Highly recommended.

I ate there with my family today. The burgers were OK, the spare ribs tasted like they were "slightly past their best-by date," and the spaghetti frutti di mare was terrible! Countless frozen mussels, four tiny shrimp, and surimi on top!!! That's a fish substitute that had no flavor at all! The pasta was also overcooked and no longer al dente. When the waitress questioned this, I complained and demanded fresh ingredients for the price, even though the dish was the recommendation of the day. It's a shame the waitress didn't listen. They said they would pass it on to the kitchen. We had to pay the full price; there wasn't even an apology or a "on the house" drink! Only conditionally recommended!

Very friendly staff and always helpful. The food is prepared quickly and is super tasty and fresh. You can choose your own salad from the buffet and serve it on your plate. The burger had a bit too much sauce, but that's a matter of taste. We had nothing negative to say. We'd be happy to return next year.

The Chrispy Burger and the Chef Schnitzel are definitely recommended. The portions are generous enough to satisfy even the most cravings. They're also great for kids.

We always enjoy eating here – this time we chose from both the Oktoberfest menu and the regular menu. And we can say: everything was excellent – ​​whether it was pumpkin soup, white sausage, mozzarella sticks, rib-eye steaks, rump steak, or even the plaice with crab, they were all prepared to our complete satisfaction. We stopped there on vacation based on the positive reviews and were not disappointed. Everyone was very happy with their meals. The prices were reasonable, and the staff were friendly and attentive.

The burger didn't meet my expectations. The meat may be premium, but the rest of the dish just wasn't up to par. The fish was very tasty, but they could have done without the egg coating, which we initially thought was just a typical breading. The self-service salad bar was very generous and delicious.

Seven of us went for dinner on September 4th, and everyone loved it. My spare ribs were incredibly delicious. The service was also excellent. We'll be back!

The spare ribs and cheeseburgers are truly delicious and I enjoyed them immensely. However, I have to deduct one star because they charge €1.00 each for ketchup (20g) and mayonnaise (20g) with the fries. I find that outrageous, especially when fries are already part of the menu.

Very tasty and generous portions. Great fries, great fried potatoes. The fish was still a bit translucent, and salt and pepper should have been added. But because everything else was perfect and the staff were friendly, it gets 5 stars.

A solid restaurant. I was there alone and had mozzarella sticks as a starter, a cheeseburger, and a non-alcoholic wheat beer for the main course. The service was really friendly and attentive! The food was solid but not outstanding; the mozzarella sticks were rather lukewarm, and the breading lacked flavor. The burger was solid but nothing special. At €34.00 for a small starter, the cheapest burger, and a drink, it doesn't seem excessive, but it's also not cheap. All in all, a solid restaurant.

Every Thursday, you can eat Sparripp's. Something for men. We girls prefer a delicious burger.

Highly recommended! Very tasty and juicy burgers. Even the classic cheeseburger gets a special twist here. A particularly great feature is that the patty can be ordered medium or well done. Friendly atmosphere, top quality. I'd be happy to come back!

For us, the food is always the best in Norddeich: delicious schnitzels and burgers. Everything is always fresh and the best products. The kids loved it too: the pasta was completely devoured, and they took the drawing board home as a souvenir. Great staff; we'll be back next time we're in Norddeich.

Hello, the food itself is edible and tasty. I was a little disappointed with my crispy chicken dish. Unfortunately, the meat was very dry. That's probably because it was cooked in a deep fryer. It's better to cook it in a pan, which makes it juicier.

If you want a burger, this is definitely the place to go. Short wait times, very friendly service, and country music.

Anyone who loves rustic simplicity will feel at home here. I had spaghetti alla mare and reordered olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and freshly ground salt and pepper. Unfortunately, the squid rings were rubbery and not recommended.

For us, it was the best restaurant in town. The staff was very friendly. The owner was there himself and served us. Despite the full house, the staff didn't seem stressed and were prompt and friendly.

The food was very good. We had chicken nuggets, chicken wings, spare ribs, and plaice Norddeicher style. The BBQ sauce on the chicken wings was super delicious. The aioli dip was amazing! The service was very friendly, but the only thing we didn't like was that everyone touched the top of their drinks. We sat in the conservatory, which unfortunately doesn't have the best ambiance.

We ate at the Flying Kitchen twice in August 2025. It was truly fantastic. The various dishes were all excellent, and the service was exceptionally polite, friendly, and accommodating. Even an off-menu appetizer would be served upon request. Great restaurant, and we will definitely be back next year! I wish you continued success and all the best! Keep it up!

Update August 2025 Unfortunately, the Flying Kitchen has changed a lot in the meantime. Both the menu and the way it's served have changed. My burger was unfortunately black in some places (I ordered it well done, but not overcooked), and there was no lettuce or tomato slice on the burger (but that wasn't stated on the menu). In general, the menu has been significantly slimmed down. In principle, a small menu isn't a bad thing, but then I also expect the dishes to be well prepared. My husband's fish, although delicious in itself, was served very unimaginatively (no sauce, no garnish, unloving). There are no longer cocktails, mac 'n cheese, etc. like before. The fries were really positive. Very tasty and crispy. The service was also friendly. Unfortunately, we didn't like the new concept as much anymore and we probably won't come here again. What a shame. As of 2023: We always enjoy coming back to the Flying Kitchen. The location next to the gas station is rather inconspicuous, but the food and friendly staff are top-notch. We particularly enjoy the changing seasonal menu and the daily specials. You're always surprised by new taste experiences here. (The burgers are also fantastic.) We were allowed to bring our dog, and they even brought him a bowl of water. The service is friendly, fast, and attentive. We're already looking forward to the fall menu with the announced pumpkin creations!

If you need a change from the usual fish restaurants, this is the place for you. The pulled pork burger is large and delicious. The XL currywurst is also large and delicious. The dessert brownie with ice cream is also recommended. Excellent. Spare ribs and various burgers are also on the menu. A great option for BBQ lovers.

Here you can see what convenience can and cannot do. The modular system of the wholesale market is used here. Frozen chicken schnitzel, frozen fries, ready-made sauce on the spare ribs, and uninspired pasta sauce. Unfortunately, I can't understand the good reviews. I'd rather put together my own meal at Netto. At least the price wasn't exorbitant.

Normal average. Nothing special. The small salad from the salad bar for €6.90 is too expensive for what's on offer. The hunter's and gypsy schnitzels are quite okay.

While on vacation, we were looking for a nice restaurant and found it right away. Beautiful ambiance, super friendly staff, and perfect food. This is what a vacation by the sea should taste like. The bruschetta as a starter is almost enough to fill you up, and the recommendation of the day is flounder – perfectly prepared – it doesn't get any better. We thank you for the wonderful stay with you, and we'll be back on our next vacation by the sea.

The food was really good, but my boyfriend was annoying. He was always chattering and kept dropping food, so I couldn't really enjoy it. Now he's asleep and has finally shut up, so I can look at the pictures in peace and revel in delicious memories.

We told the waitress that we had to catch the ferry in an hour and after 30 minutes we were completely happy.

We expected much more than we ultimately got. The service seemed bored and ended up pocketing €10, which we of course took back. BBQ is recommended, but the noodles were less so; they tasted more like a ready-made product than freshly prepared. The hunter's sauce with the schnitzel felt inedible, as there was probably a whole pepper shaker in it. In my opinion, you shouldn't go there and should go to other places here in Norddeich. Plus, it's far too expensive for what you get.

Delicious burgers and friendly service!

I can only recommend this restaurant. The price-performance ratio is 100% here. The taste is also 100% here. The service is friendly and attentive and, unlike many other restaurants, doesn't ask if everything is okay or if you need a drink. We had the dishes pictured: plaice fillet, Norddeicher schnitzel, pepper cream schnitzel, and gypsy schnitzel. Everything was fresh and very tasty. The pepper sauce was spicy, maybe too hot for some, but we liked it as it was. Only the fries were a bit too crispy, but that doesn't detract from the taste. A full 5 stars and a full recommendation to stop by. The burgers on the other tables also looked really good, from what we could see.

This was our first time at Flying Kitchen and we were disappointed. For starters we tried the steakhouse bread, which was great in itself, but relatively expensive for four pieces of bread with aioli. The aioli was delicious. For main courses we had the cheeseburger, Chrispy Chicken Burger, and spare ribs. The spare ribs were great and highly recommended, but the burgers were unfortunately not good. The sauces on the burgers were not to our liking. The value for money is not good; you even have to pay extra for sauces (mayo, ketchup +0.50€ or sour cream +2.50€). The burgers were small compared to other restaurants, and there were too many fries for too little sauce.

Some of the food was okay. Some of it was very good, but some of it was just as meager. The meat with the pasta was sticky, wobbly, and inedible. The spare ribs were highly recommended, but the pasta was not. The service was friendly, but she deliberately gave less change, with obvious indications. Other alternatives are more recommendable...

I checked the menu as I was passing by and decided to stop by for the evening. Great atmosphere and service 🤗 The burgers were delicious, medium as requested, with sweet potato fries a dream... 😍 No more overcooked burger patties. We'll be back, no question. Until then, we'll be on a burger diet, anything but burgers. We're already looking forward to our next visit 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔

In Norddeich good in general but nothing special

Full stars and more... This was our first time at the Flying Kitchen. Everything was perfect. Great service, superb staff with the perfect blend of wit, charm, and friendliness. Even the Lillet with mineral water was a given and no problem ;). The food was excellent, always fresh and to perfection. The ambiance was inviting, modern, and cozy... No. The price/performance ratio is absolutely terrible. More than disappointed. 20 euros for a burger so small it wouldn't even fill a child. On top of that, my vegetarian burger was cold. My husband's was warm, but still tiny. It came with a tiny portion of fries. Every kid's plate at other restaurants is bigger. Never again.

I went there today with my friends because the reviews here were very promising. Unfortunately, we were totally disappointed. We had to wait 45 minutes for the food, which arrived lukewarm, almost cold. A burger for 17.90, served carelessly on a single plate without a single garnish or "decoration," which resembled something from a fast food restaurant... didn't justify the price at all in my opinion. The service was very friendly, though, and drinks were delivered promptly. Unfortunately, I wouldn't eat here again.

We were there on July 27th. A huge compliment to the Flying Kitchen team. 12 children in the restaurant, the noise level was like a jet taking off, but the team was always friendly, nice, and totally relaxed. Absolutely nothing negative to report. For this reason, I can only agree with the positive comments from my previous speakers. We'll be back... On May 10th, 2024, it was actually time again. This time at the new restaurant in Norddeich. After considerable initial difficulties, we were able to order and finally received our food. The atmosphere in the team was very tense, and you could feel it. And the fact that the boss was making sure the LED strip and the TV were working in such a tense atmosphere is a very bad image. But in the end, everything was fine. The team reacted very professionally. *wink* I actually wanted to give a different review, but someone on the team changed my mind with a wet rag ;-) *wink* And we'll be back anyway. This is our third time there, and every time it's been incredibly delicious. Whether it's the burger or the ribs, it's absolutely delicious! On Thursdays, they have all-you-can-eat ribs. We were regularly asked if they wanted more, and it was delicious! We'll definitely be back :)

We were guests again today with great expectations due to the positive experience at the previous location. We remember the top quality of the spare ribs and burgers, as well as the unique BBQ sauce. Unfortunately, this only remained in our memories. We were guests with 5 people, 2 ordered a fish dish, 2 the all you can eat spare ribs and 1x burger with huge anticipation. Even after multiple requests, our food wasn't on our tables after 1 1/2 hours... Everyone around us who had arrived much later had already eaten and even left the restaurant in the meantime…. We really felt like we were being taken for a ride... the boss himself came to the table and was rude because we were really pissed off, which is something you should understand. Only a round of drinks as compensation with a cracked beer glass. In the end, it turned out that the male service person, who was not exactly friendly but rather annoyed, had forgotten to send our order to the kitchen. After several inquiries, the blonde female and definitely friendlier service person discovered this. We came back because of the incredibly great experience at the previous location and wanted to show this to our family... the first round of spare ribs was fine from all you can eat, the second round was inedible and completely full of goo... the burger was a children's burger for expensive money... Only the fish was okay. So if you want to be served unfriendly and receive completely annoyed answers when you ask for an ashtray, have a rebellious boss of the restaurant standing in front of you, have a quiver because you have to ask several times for your food and wait hours... if you want to pay a lot of money, you've come to the right place... It's a shame that you're no longer at the previous location, where you were a holiday highlight, now unfortunately just an absolute flop and a messy holiday evening...

I was warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home. The food was fresh, tasted great and was really homemade. I've been there twice now and will come again before I leave. Was there again yesterday, there was a special offer of spare ribs all you can eat, it was really tasty and you could reorder as long as you could, unfortunately I gave up early. But it tasted great again 👍 2025, a year later, repeat offender 😁 it was almost like “coming home” nothing has changed, everything was just as good and tasty as 2024 😋👍

We had reserved a table for four people for 1 p.m. and I have to say, everything was wonderful. I absolutely cannot understand some of the reviews. If you are looking for an original USA burger, ribs etc., Flying Kitchen is the right place for you. The menu also offered enough alternatives for difficult eaters like our children. =).
