DOCK N°8 Café - Restaurant - Bar in Norden

We visited the restaurant as a couple as part of a Mexican buffet evening: - Structure of the buffet: very squat, food wasn't continually replenished. - Services: Used dishes were not cleared away, so we did it ourselves. - Drinks: We were told to order the first round of drinks immediately even though we hadn't received a card. For the second round of drinks we had to wait about 20 minutes for the staff to take it. Ambiance: Very nice design and interior on the occasion of the thematic evening.

Ambience great, service friendly but understaffed, price clearly too high. €35 is clearly too high for a “normal” buffet. The toppings were too slow and the waiting time for dessert was too long.

Docked in the dock again today. Today we had schnitzel, fried potatoes, a bread basket with aioli and the Hokkaido pumpkin soup was a must. Service is very attentive and friendly. Our lunch was delicious, a nice break from everyday life. Thanks to the Dock8 team!

Dock No8 is very comfortably furnished and I felt very comfortable. The food is very tasty and the service leaves nothing to be desired. Good atmosphere among the staff. I would love to come back the next time I visit the north.

We went to this restaurant on vacation. If we asked, we were even able to bring our dogs to the table. The service was great and the food was excellent. The portions were perfectly balanced and were just enough to fill you up. At the end there was a nice conversation. All in all, a highly recommended restaurant and always worth a visit.

Recommendation! Absolute insider tip, or probably not so secret anymore, given the number of guests, who all looked super happy. First you are warmly welcomed and accompanied to the table. A little tip, be sure to reserve, it makes things easier, as I've noticed. This is followed by an extensive menu, as well as a cocktail menu and house specialties. Everyone is guaranteed to find something for themselves here. For me it was supposed to be the bread basket for snacking and sharing. The whole thing was then followed with the beef pasta a la Dock. Absolutely a poem. By the way, I can only warmly recommend the cocktails here. Both the waiting times and the service are first class. Next time I'll have to try dessert too. If I had had a little more time, where the atmosphere was definitely inviting, a latte macchiato would probably have been the crowning conclusion to this wonderful evening. Next time. We'll definitely be back. Thank you Dock 8 for this great evening.

We were there last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was a very nice evening. We had very friendly service. We were a bit hesitant about the prices at first, but the food we got justified every cent: the steak my wife had, cooked medium to perfection, the fries crispy and delicious; I had the shrimp pasta, which was beautifully 'al dente' (homemade), a lobster sauce with a wonderful basic flavor and the shrimp were fried to perfection. Only the side salad could have been a bit larger. When it came to desserts, my wife ordered the “build-your-own tiramisu” and realized that it wasn’t her thing. This was of course taken back, not charged and she got another dessert instead. I take my hat off to that, honestly. The evening was rounded off with two cocktails; a Pina Colada and a Long Island Ice Tea, both of which were great. An all around great evening; Thank you for that! :-)

We got married this week and had coffee & cake and dinner with a 3-course menu there. We were extremely satisfied, from the preparations to the food. The quality of the food was outstanding and the service couldn't have been better. Every wish is catered for here and the opportunity to have our free wedding ceremony take place in the city garden was so wonderful. No matter whether it was the decoration in the upper dock or in the city garden, you could feel in every detail that it was done with passion. We certainly won't be there for the last time and we can only recommend the dock to anyone who wants to feel completely at home. We would like to thank everyone involved again and see you soon

We celebrated our wedding at Dock 8 in Norden. It was just good! The planning with Mr. Brake was super uncomplicated in advance. Food and drinks were also great. I would recommend everyone to celebrate their wedding here!

I had the beef pasta. The pasta and salad were good. However, in my opinion, the meat was mostly very tough. It seemed like cuttings from the ''real'' steaks.

There were a total of 5 people there. (A toddler) The furnishings and service are quite good, except for one younger lady who seemed a bit annoyed. The other waiter was very nice and accommodating, including dealing with our child. Also found to be very disturbing in our situation, with a small child, was the assigned table, which was large and equipped with a stool and bench. So none of us could sit properly. Certainly suitable for drinking cocktails, but not recommended for eating. The request to possibly get another table was also rejected because the restaurant was fully booked for the evening. Until then it's still understandable. We also each received a greeting from the kitchen and the bar, which were delicious. Unfortunately, when the main course arrived, we discovered that our child's food was already dried out and almost cold, which is why he didn't want to eat it. But our food was delicious. 4/5 stars

Came across the restaurant through a small town rally. Very nice, small restaurant. Very pleasant atmosphere, professional and friendly team. The food came within a reasonable wait - there were 4 of us there. Everything to the point, very tasty and lovingly prepared and served. The homemade iced tea is highly recommended. But it should definitely be reserved in advance. Stay as you are. We will definitely come back at the next opportunity.

Habe für 6 Personen das Frühstücksbuffet reserviert was auch vom Dock No. 8 bestätigt wurde doch dann standen wie vor verschlossener Tür. Ich finde es schon traurig das es nicht storniert wurde. Es war mein 60 Geburtstag und wollte mit meiner Familie meinen Geburtstag schön feiern. Das schlimme ist wir kamen aus NRW und hatten dort eine Ferienwohnung und total fremd in Norden

We stopped here at lunchtime based on a recommendation. It wasn't very crowded and the service was attentive, but probably not yet well-established. The cards were taken away but we didn't ask for our order. It was only accepted after we asked whether we could order. We waited over an hour for our food, and the tables next to us were already asking about their food. So nothing for those in a hurry. My husband's schnitzel was good, hence the 3 stars. My chicken curry was disappointing. The taste was good, but the small, quite thin piece of chicken was very dry and fibrous. I could only eat part of it. But I didn't want to complain because we had already waited so long and I was hungry. When asked when clearing away, I said this too. The waitress apologized and later offered us a drink on the house. I then politely declined and we paid, this time without a tip. I rarely do this, but I was pretty disappointed. Sorry, but we'll probably prefer to visit other restaurants nearby.

Chic atmosphere and the service was very friendly - unfortunately we went to the breakfast buffet today and were disappointed. Such good reviews here and we were guided by them - what can I say? -we arrived at 10:30am and there wasn't much going on. The buffet consisted of various... Cheeses, salami and another sausage, jam, scrambled eggs, matjes, tomato-mozzarella, bacon, fried eggplant, rolls & mini croissants, which were completely unlabeled, are not worth the money. The bacon wasn't tasty, the pancakes were tasteless. It was only refilled when asked but more “because you have to” it took too long. We hoped for better (more choice, refilling more often (especially when you see that it's empty) - if the buffet is already small, at least everything should be there, especially for this price!

We were there on March 21st. and on March 23rd. We ate at Dock No 8 and were very satisfied both times. Beforehand there was a small greeting from the kitchen and a greeting from the bar. On our first visit we had the appetizer platter for 2 with lots of small treats. On the second visit we shared the bread basket with aioli. Both were very good. The main courses we had on our first visit were the deer burger and the Mexican steak. On the second visit we had the Mexican steak and the shrimp pasta deluxe again. The main courses were also excellent, everything was very well seasoned and the meat was fried to perfection. The next time we're in the north we'll be happy to come back.

Wir waren schon häufiger hier. Es war immer wieder so gut und lecker, dass sich eine Stunde Anfahrt gelohnt hat. Dabei war egal, welches Gericht wir gewählt haben. Auch das Ambiente gefällt uns sehr gut. Aber alles hat seinen Preis. Für 4 Personen haben wir vor einigen Tagen €150 bezahlt. Das geht also nicht so oft. Aber das Besondere soll nicht zu häufig genommen werden, um besonders zu bleiben.

Ich war vor 2 Jahren auch zum Frühstück bei Ihnen. Mehrmals zum essen. Damals war das TOP. Heute war ich sehr enttäuscht. Pro Person 19.90 Eur. Dabei nicht mal Saft. Lachs und Eier . Es war nicht liebevoll eingerichtet. Das was sie heute präsentiert haben , hätte nicht mal 5 Punkte bekommen. Heute fehlte die Liebe zum Beruf!

Went there for a nightcap. Service was unfortunately very inattentive and unfriendly. There wasn't much going on and there were at least three waiters in the restaurant. Unfortunately, no one ever came to our table without being asked. The seemingly inexperienced young lady who served us seemed unfriendly and overwhelmed. The cocktails were okay but nothing special. Unfortunately we weren't impressed by the visit.

Schönes Restaurant, das Essen ist auch gut. Ich finde die Portionen klein, und das Angebot der Speisen etwas einseitig. Viel neumodisches Zeug auf der Karte, viel Englisch, aber ein paar schöne Klassiker (Gulasch! Roulade! Und ganz normale Kleikartoffeln als Beilage) wären nicht schlecht. Das Dock 8 hat vor einiger Zeit das geschlossene (und super tolle) Smutje-Restaurant sozusagen mit übernommen, da sollte es auch dafür sorgen, dass die Gerichte von dort zumindest teilweise wieder angeboten werden.

Unfortunately I cannot agree with the good reviews for this restaurant. The food was ok, but nothing more. We had some bread to share with three dips that were advertised as “deluxe”. Sobering, as it was just six slices of the simplest baguette, neither warm nor crispy, with hummus, some aioli and a curry dip. Not bad, probably not homemade, but definitely not deluxe. (8.90 euros) The burger was good, the fries were ok, but almost cold. We found it quite cheeky that an extra euro was charged for a teaspoon of ketchup. Should it be included with a burger price of 18.90 euros, or is that asking too much? We then had a voucher for a small beer from our hotel. Here, too, there is little customer friendliness: it only applies to a beer, Cola, Fanta or Sprite. Non-alcoholic beer, small tonic water, unfortunately not possible. Therefore, the conclusion for the Dock8 is unfortunately not that great. Great location, rather below average performance. A pity.

Hallo, ein mit Liebe gestaltetes Restaurant mit einem sehr guten Service. Wir waren auf einem Wochentag zum Frühstück da. Es gibt hochwertige Lebensmittel zur Auswahl und inkl. eines Heißgetränkes zu einem sehr fairen und günstigem Preis. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und zu Beginn hat der Chef persönlich das Buffet bzw. die besonderen Dinge einmal erklärt. Auch unser Hund wurde herzlich begrüßt und hat direkt ohne Nachfrage Wasser bekommen. Die Qualität des Essens war ebenfalls richtig gut und für ein kleines Frühstücksbuffet auch gute (aber kleine) Auswahl. Selbst gemachter Bacon, leckeres Rührei und viele Spezialitäten. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Tolles Frühstücksbuffet. Sehr zu empfehlen. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis top. Während der kompletten Frühstückszeit immer genug Auswahl an köstlichen Kleinigkeiten. So kommen auch diejenigen auf ihre Kosten, die lieber etwas später frühstücken. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Liegt etwas versteckt in einer Seitenstraße, aber Dank Aufsteller in der Hauptstraße und TripAdvisor gefunden. Wir haben den Cheeseburger gegessen. Sehr lecker mit Pommes und Krautsalat. Das Interieur ist urgemütlich und trotzdem stylisch chic.

Das Essen war hervorragend (Brauhausschnitzel und Garnelenpasta), schön angerichtet mit Bedacht (die Soße zum Schnitzel separat) und der Service herausragend. Wurde selten so freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und eine echte Überraschung in der Seitenstraße, da es von außen eher unscheinbar wirkt. Wir waren in der Nebensaison unter der Woche dort und haben direkt einen Tisch bekommen. Eine echte Empfehlung und falls wir mal wieder hier sind, kommen wir sicher wieder.

Es war ein Abend in einem stilvollem Restaurant mit Wohlfühlambiente, ein perfekter Ort zum Entspannen und Seele baumeln lassen. Das Essen war köstlich, frisch mit regionalen Zutaten, ein wahrer Genuss für jeden Gaumen. Hier wird noch selbst gekocht! Mein Mann hatte das Labskaus, ein typisch ostfriesisches Gericht, toll interpretiert. Der Wein passte, ebenso wie das Schokoladensouffle als Nachtisch. Die Preise passten ebenso, alles stimmig. Vorschlag: Bei der Gestaltung der Terrasse ist noch Luft nach oben. Wir wünschen dem Team alles Gute, liebe Grüße von den Potsdamer Urlaubern.

Es war sehr lecker, allerdings für uns zu kleine Portionen, sowieso bei den hohen Preisen! Super war jedoch, dass wir ohne Probleme noch mehr Fritten bekommen haben. Der Service war gut. Das Ambiente ist toll, allerdings war die Musik nicht mein Geschmack und darum irgendwann nervig.

Ich wusste nicht, dass Burger in einem Aufbackbrötchen serviert werden anstatt mit Burger Brötchen. Als ich nachgefragt habe ob das hier normal sei wusste die Bedienung nicht weiter. Ob wir zufrieden waren oder nicht hat da niemanden interessiert. Die Preise waren sehr hoch (15€ Aufwärts für einen Burger), da habe ich natürlich hohe Erwartungen. Hat leider nicht meine Erwartungen erfüllt, der Preis ist nicht angemessen. Ansonsten ein schönes Restaurant. Die guten Bewertungen über das Essen kann ich nicht nachvollziehen.

Das Essen war leider nichts, der Ceasar Salat war mit Fisch versetzt, die Croûtons waren definitiv nicht selbst gemacht. Die Knobi-Nudeln haben weder nach Knoblauch noch nach Chilli geschmeckt, sondern eher nach Knorr Fix. Aber das Ambiente ist ganz schön, der Service war auch freundlich. Vielleicht sind ja andere Gerichte besser.

Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Kommen auf jedem Fall wieder . Freuen uns das es so gut angenommen wird . Also reservieren sollte man auf jedem Fall

Essen und Service sind gut, auch wenn die Portionen etwas größer sein könnten. Immerhin ist die Qualität gut. Ein großes Ärgernis ist allerdings, daß die (teuren) Cocktails zur Hälfte aus Eis bestehen! Bei 12,50 € für einen Zombie ein Glas zur Hälfte mit Eis gefüllt zu bekommen betrachte ich als Betrug am Kunden!! Update: Ihr braucht die Karte nicht zu überarbeiten, nur weniger Eis in die Cocktails zu tun!
