The food was OK. Service was friendly and the ambience is nice. Unfortunately, the people sitting next to us were the only ones who were excessively loud.

The WORST “restaurant”! What a shame for Blankenese! The only positive thing was the mineral water which was served in an unopened bottle. No question whether we would like ice cream and lemon. When entering the "restaurant" you immediately noticed a sour smell... more on that later! we ordered pizza and pasta and a salad. However, it took about 25 minutes until a service person came around to take our order. After another 45 minutes, the sad result of our order was brought to the table. NOT SERVED. The plates were placed on the table without any ambition. To make a long story short: the pizza dough was hard, dry and dusty, the pasta was in one piece and the tomato sauce stuck to the edge of the bowl, the salad smelled and tasted like cold storage. The "food" was already announced by the unmistakable pink of the microwave.... When I asked whether this food quality was standard, the visibly annoyed Keller replied that Mr. Marian Müller was in the kitchen and he couldn't cook. As it later turned out, Mr. Marian Müller works as a chef and managing partner at the DAR. Before we left the "restaurant" I visited the sanitary facility, where I immediately realized where the sour smell came from... I strongly advise against a visit! signed Dr.jur.E.Lichtenhagen

On a Saturday night with live music, the service was so stressed that only the two women were able to smile at the guests. The male staff was consistently stressed and not very friendly at all. I was given the wrong salad and when I pointed it out it was taken away from me and shortly afterwards I was handed the correct salad without a word. Dressing came later, the bread we ordered didn't come. The Ipanema for €7 was the worst I've ever gotten: pure sugar water. The noise level was so high because of the music and the staff was under so much pressure that we didn't feel like arguing and just wanted to escape. We paid €70 for this cafeteria atmosphere. Once and not again.

Good Italian, but some dishes have room for improvement. Not everyone in our larger group was happy. Service, ambience and location good. Update: Used the bar this time. Very cozy. And for the young bartender to mix the first margarita of her life, it was top notch.

Food so-so. Slow service. Price/quality under average. We were offered a free dessert because we waited so long for our pizza. We declined as we were in a hurry (because of the waiting) and had an espresso instead. They charged us for the espresso 🙁

Ate another delicious meal at a meeting. The DON A ROMA, Erik-Blumenfeld-Platz, right next to the Blankenese S-Bahn station. Very tasty food, visually very attractively presented. A very nice, modern atmosphere and a very friendly and attentive service team.

The restaurant actually has a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the service was disappointing this time. We had to wait almost 2 hours for our food, and when it came, unfortunately the noodles weren't completely cooked. It's a shame, because we were looking forward to a nice evening. Maybe it was just a bad day, but unfortunately that marred our experience somewhat.

Ordered ham pizza for lunch and was served a pizza with a single small piece of ham and not pizza in the true sense. Additionally, it wasn't a round pizza but a leftover piece of dough that more closely resembled a flatbread. Despite the complaint, the waiter and cook didn't want to see the disgusting pizza, saying it's just lunch. This statement and arrogance are a disgrace. Then they shouldn't offer lunch or for them it's just their standard. After this experience and despite having been there several times, we never went to the store again.

We went to this restaurant this evening. We have been there several times and were satisfied and felt comfortable. Today we received a friendly welcome and were taken to another area with a different responsibility. This employee, not particularly friendly, assigned a table that had not been cleaned. As soon as we had our menus, he asked us what we wanted. We didn't even have a chance to look inside. We then signaled to him that, understandably, we weren't ready yet. Afterwards, this employee stopped seeing us. Actually, we didn't see him again. Then, after a good quarter of an hour of waiting in vain, we got up and went to the exit. We wanted to speak to the operations manager about it. The friendly employee from the beginning also asked him about it and he took so much time that after waiting in vain we left the restaurant in exasperation. We were very surprised by so many employees, a restaurant that wasn't full and a lack of concern for the coarse guest. We were really looking forward to the live music. What we were offered was a sad experience.

We spontaneously decided to visit Don A Roma as a couple on a Saturday evening. So I reserved a table online in advance, which went smoothly. What confused me about the form, however, was that I had to specify which room we would like to sit in - I have no idea, I don't know the place yet... so first go back to the website and try to quickly find out what's going on and how what looks like. Well, that worked with a little effort. We quickly found a parking space in the area and were at the restaurant on time. After a short wait, we were met at the entrance and taken to our seat - a high table for 2 people near the bar. Okay... so I sat down on the bar stool and touched the table top - which felt terribly sticky and was already making me feel uneasy. The friendly employee who brought us the cards said "The table is sticky, but it's clean" - unfortunately that didn't change the fact that the board really stuck and you had the feeling that the table wasn't clean after all. We briefly studied the menu, ordered food and drinks and waited. The drinks came and this employee was also friendly. The starter came quite quickly (bruscetta), but was rather unspectacular - both in terms of presentation and preparation. We waited a little longer for the main course (2 different pizzas) - during that time we would certainly have ordered more drinks if someone had asked us. Unfortunately, when the pizza came, we were a bit disappointed because the taste was average at best, nothing particularly good, nothing particularly bad. You could clearly taste the dough, in my case the pizza was quite dry, the thick/wide edge is particularly worth mentioning here. In the meantime, my companion had at least managed to order a second drink. My empty wine glass was overlooked and I wasn't asked whether I wanted to order anything else when serving or clearing the plates. But we weren't asked about dessert, coffee or digestive requests, perhaps they didn't want to take this sales with them? After a while we managed to get the bill. I paid by card and said no when asked for a card receipt. However, I then noticed that I only had an interim invoice on the table without any VAT shown and asked for a receipt for entertainment, which we received without any problem. When I visited the toilet, I noticed that the dark floor tiles were only cleaned in the visible areas - and in the toilet cubicles, when the door was closed, you could clearly see where the dust was being swept/mopped. Perhaps you would like to pass on the information to the cleaning company. Conclusion: Ambiance - nice (except for the really horribly sticky table top) Staff - friendly, but a little more guest approach would have been desirable Food - okay, but unfortunately standard, nothing special.

I discovered this culinary treasure today directly in Blankenese. Prepared to perfection in terms of taste. I will definitely come back and try other dishes. The service was also great. Very personable, attentive and quick. A really nice stay, thank you very much for that 🥰

Been here many times because of its proximity and the nice atmosphere/interior design. The food is only mediocre. When you order pizza, it’s no problem. But anything else from the menu takes a long time and doesn’t have the quality the price demands. Service here is the worst I have ever experienced, anywhere in the world. It takes at least 10-15 minutes before anyone notices you want to take an order, then 15-20 minutes for them to bring you the drink order, even if it’s just a draft beer and you’re sitting right next to the bar area. This happened on numerous visits even when the restaurant was quite empty. It is hard to imagine how the staff can be so poorly trained. The hospitality here is non-existent. Customers are ignored and their needs badly taken care of. But hey, while you wait forever for your drink and food orders, you can spend the time admiring the interior design! We had the same bad experience here at least 5 times without any sign of improvement from the restaurant owner or staff and have decided it was our very last visit. There are plenty other restaurants in Blankenese that offer better hospitality and better food.

I've been here five or six times now. The Don A Roma impresses above all with its chaotic service. Even though the restaurant only has to serve a few guests, you still have to wait between ten and 15 minutes before you can place your order. My beer took a full 20 minutes from the tap to my table. And then it was the wrong beer (not a non-alcoholic one). Ok, for free, it can happen. The non-alcoholic beer and the salad as a starter came promptly. We had been guests for at least 35 minutes now. We ordered risotto twice. Once with Loup de Mer, once with Gambas. After about 20 minutes we were informed that one of the dishes probably couldn't be prepared. It's unclear whether it was the risotto or the fish. The waiter would consult with the chef again. After five minutes the response was that it wasn't a problem. After another 15 minutes I was asked whether I “would like my fillet medium or well done”. I didn't even know that you can eat sea bass medium rare. No, he sent a fillet of beef to the kitchen as an order. Oh well, “yes, the map is new”, and you don’t even know what Loup de Mer is. So they just thought beef fillet. After clarification, my sea bass became a zander fillet. Patiently and hungry, I accept. We had now been guests for 90 minutes and still had no food. After an hour and 45 minutes passed, we decided to leave. At the checkout they said “the food is ready”. But there was nothing on my table. If it's finished, why is it still in the kitchen? We insisted we wanted to leave now. We had imagined our 10th wedding anniversary dinner differently. “I can also pack it up for you to take with you.” Completely absurd. The staff doesn't know their own menu, they have to talk to the manager by phone, they bring the wrong drinks and you have to wait 100 minutes for food. The other times were basically no better. But today the Don A Roma shot down the proverbial bird. That was definitely our last visit.

The service is rude, the food is good

Pizza was okay, but nothing special. The supply of drinks was very slow. In some cases the wrong drinks were brought or drinks were taken that could not be made later (e.g. non-alcoholic Alster).

Delicious food, wait a bit too long for the lunch break

Oh no, that's not possible... I ordered the salad from the lunch menu because there are only 3 dishes available until 3 p.m. and I didn't want any pasta or pizza. On the menu (see picture) there were carrots and candied walnuts with it. When I got the salad, the carrots were missing and instead I got peppers, even though I don't like them at all. And the walnuts were anything but candied...what's the point? The service was totally overwhelmed and you had to wait 30 minutes for the bill, the atmosphere is good but the table was sticky and dirty... of course you can say you're a bean counter, but if you order something then I want to get it the card says!

Friendly, unobtrusive service, great selection and authentic, delicious taste. Unfortunately, over the last few visits we have noticed that the attention to care and cleaning in the restaurant and the toilets has decreased. I hope this great Italian in Blankenese gets back on track and gets back to the beginning! Therefore currently only 3 stars!

We were there for lunch on a Wednesday. The ambience is really great, nice restaurant. However, sitting outside is a bit noisy right on the street. There was only one waitress in the restaurant who did the drinks and service alone. Polite and hardworking, but a bit stressed. I had a wild herb salad with burrata. Unfortunately there was still sand in the salad, but worse, there was also a long hair, which is why I returned the salad. They apologized and offered a coffee on the house, but the salad was not taken off the bill, which is also the star deduction. We would eat there again in the evening next time. Recommendation: Homemade Lemonade

When I recently went to the well-known DonaRoma, I expected great things. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. The pizza is extremely mediocre. We had to pay €12 for a crumb chocolate cake. A nice Chinese girl served me really well, but unfortunately the rest were a bit unfriendly. Next time I'd rather go to PeterPane.

The carbonara was super tasty, nice and creamy and the bacon had the perfect consistency. Everyone also enjoyed the drinks! The pizzas that I was able to try with my companions were nice and thin and well seasoned! All around a great restaurant, especially the piano bar is recommended!

Ordered twice, disappointed twice. After it didn't work out the first time, we wanted to give Don A Roma a second chance. Order was confirmed at 6:21 p.m., delivery date 7:00 p.m. After more than an hour we get a call from a waiter's private cell phone saying that two dishes are unfortunately out. That's not a problem, but if you call after more than an hour, have already paid, and are waiting for the food, it's even worse. Same problem the first time, ordered via Lieferando, and received the information after over an hour, no delivery today. I can only advise against their delivery skills if you don't even manage to get in touch promptly when something is out. I would have liked to give 0 stars here today. It's a shame because we were there two months ago and had a great evening. Unfortunately, these two incidents have shown us that if you don't want to order something, you can't keep up with the competition, but they will be happy because Don A Roma can't keep up!

Auf einen Ausflug mit der Bah sahen wir Sonnenschirme beim Bahnhof Blankenese. Zum Glück. Der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Der Salat ist für eine kleine Portion sehr gross. Die beste Lasagne die wir seit langem gegessen haben. Wir sind etwas Älter und essen nicht mehr so viel. Es gibt leider keine kleinen Portionen aber wir konnten ein teilen. Das Lokal hat eine schöne Atmosphäre.

On a trip by train we saw parasols at Blankenese train station. Fortunately. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The salad is very large for a small portion. The best lasagne we have eaten in a long time. We're a little older and don't eat as much anymore. Unfortunately there are no small portions but we were able to share one. The place has a nice atmosphere.

Once and never again. Service staff totally inattentive. Children's menu was not served even though we had 2 children at the table. We also didn't know that there was a children's menu and we noticed that afterwards by chance at the next table. Bread only came to the table after repeated requests. Starter platter for 32 euros! For 2 people, everything squished on a plate with a small bruschetta bread that you were supposed to share was just a disgrace. For the main course I had carbonara, an original carbonara at an Italian restaurant is always without cream! The menu indicated this with cream and I thought, come and try it. My spaghetti was completely hard and not edible, this can happen even though anyone can cook pasta 🙈 sauce only tasted like cream with pepper. There was also parmesan on top. The entire dish had nothing to do with a carbonara. No staff came to address this for a long time. Well, after I complained about it, we left. Then they forgot to take it off the bill, so we had to bring it up too. Unfortunately there was no compensation. They offered to make the pasta again, but this would take time because the shop was "full". We then politely declined because everyone had eaten and our baby was now quacking. It's actually a shame, good location, great ambience but the service and cooking performance are terribly bad.

We have now been to this restaurant four times. We really enjoyed it every time. We felt very well looked after by the waitress and bartender, addressed personally and our wishes were taken into account. The open wines taste very good and the cellar beer that you have on tap is not to be despised either. The pizzas are special because they don't all follow the mainstream. The bar has a delicious selection of cocktails and the decor is really well done. Likewise the various furnished areas. All in all a nice restaurant, which hopefully has a much longer life expectancy than its predecessors.

This was my second time at this restaurant and I was very disappointed. The bruschetta beforehand was very oily and some of the parmesan was completely dried out. The waiter wanted to pass it on to the kitchen, but unfortunately we didn't receive an explanation. The main course “Tagliatelle Filetto di Manzo e Pepe Rosso” was literally swimming in cream. You really couldn't finish your plate. We also didn't ask if we wanted another drink. Our plates sat for quite a long time before they were cleared away. It was full, plus there was business outside the home. The quality suffers enormously. A pity.

Chic Italian at Blankenese train station. Service attentive and nice. The pizza is simply delicious. My wife had pasta. It wasn't quite as tasty and was relatively "mushy" and carelessly slapped onto the plate. Therefore only 3 points for food...

Very good shop with good food and very nice decor and ambience at affordable prices ^^ And the bar was 10/10 especially the bar keeper Amar was very personable but generally a very friendly and well-kept staff. I'm looking forward to the next visit :)

Very cosy restaurant, and stuff are great

Unfortunately, the quality of the dishes does not match the exceptionally beautiful and stylish ambience. The wine was inferior, the risotto was unimaginative and the parmesan was largely tasteless. We had a stomach ache after eating. It's a shame - we had hoped for more.

The restaurant is nice, the waiters are friendly, but in terms of food they have a lot to improve! Very fresh pasta dishes, pomodoro and pesto were great and the pizza was quite good. The store's furnishings are chic and elegant. Despite the Italian music, there is still little Italian feeling, I was missing allioli or good oil with bread and I find it a bit weak when you have to ask for extra parmesan in pasta dishes because there was very little on the pasta and you even have to pay for it.

I eat there regularly with my girlfriend and also like to order. If something is wrong with the order, we act very accommodatingly and deliver it later. Today my pizza was delivered to me burnt, which made me very upset. After a call, a replacement was delivered to me straight away and in less time than the previous delivery time.

They cheat on billing! If two 17 year olds go out to eat, it can't be that the waiter wants €18.50 instead of €15! He was right in his assessment that the two of them were too well behaved to become forceful after asking didn't help. That is not how it works!

After three visits and just as many disappointments, the last visit topped everything. After a long wait in the half-empty restaurant, they wanted to assign us a high table in the bar area, which we didn't want and so asked for a comfortable window table that had a reserved sign. This was possible without any problems. Then it happened in quick succession. No bread, waiting forever for drinks, no shared meal for 5 people. 20 minutes after the first meal, two more meals arrived and another 5 minutes later the 5th meal arrived. Without any apology. Absolute horror experience going to completely filthy toilets, really underground and therefore never again.

The food and cocktails were great, right around the corner from us. We would love to come back 👌

It pains me deeply to have to share my experiences at “Don a Roma”. Despite our regular visits to enjoy the attractive ambience, the service was simply disastrous. Unfortunately, we find that the delivery of our drinks seems to linger in a time dimension that is beyond all reason. The rarity with which the refreshments promised on the menu are actually available increased our disappointment to an unprecedented level. In all our years of loyalty, we have not experienced even a hint of satisfactory service. Unfortunately, the lack of skilled workers is noticeable when it comes to service. The meal was okay. The ambience is very nice. It is therefore a shame that the service drags down the star rating so much.

The restaurant is wonderful. I'll definitely go back there. I would improve the Caesar salad recipe by using small crunchy croutons. My salad had large chunks of stale bread. The interior is stunning, many tables, the waiters are polite and attentive. Service is fast. I would say that the restaurant is one of the best in all of Hamburg. Regarding food, there is room for improvement.

Second best Italian in the Blankenese area!

Wir waren zum ersten Mal dort zum Mittagstisch für 9,50€ inkl. Getränk. Meine Pizza Prosciutto war fluffing, knackig, frisch. Oberlecker. Die Penne waren auch super. Gern wieder, wenn wir das nun immer mit unserem Friseurbesuch um die Ecke verbinden können.

Sehr schönes Restaurant am S Bahnhof Blankenese. Bei jedem Hamburgbesuch ein Muss. Essen hat mich bisher immer überzeugt. Und die verschiedensten Cocktails... einfach nur lecker. Und der Service ist natürlich auch immer sehr gut. Klare Empfehlung.👍

Super schönes Restaurant mit authentischer italienischer Küche.

Tisch online reserviert - schön feierlich geschmückt für mich! Danke sehr :) Wein und Vorspeise waren gut - um Brot mussten wir selber bitten und für 4 Personen brachte man dann 4 Scheiben, also haben wir direkt nachbestellt. Hier sollte das Servicepersonal etwas mehr mitdenken. Ich hatte fas Risotto - kann ich leider überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Garnelen waren gut, Reis und viel zu große Tomaten im Risotto waren leider nicht gut. Die anderen haben Nudeln gegessen - leider alles bisschen ungewürzt. Nach dem wir unser Essen hatten, kam niemand mehr .. hatten dann keine Getränke. Wollten eigentlich noch sitzen bleiben und was trinken.. sind dann aber nach langem warten selber nach vorne zum Bezahlen und sind woanders was trinken gegangen. Wir kommen nicht wieder.. Schade, weil der Laden ist traumhaft schön!

Gemütliche Ausstattung, freundlicher Service und die Pizza war lecker. Das Preis-/Leistungs Verhältnis ist prima.

Sehr höflich und zuvorkommend in geschmackvollen Ambiente. Die Pizza war sehr gut.

Amazing atmosphere, kind stuff and delicious starters. Unfortunately I didn't like pizza so much. But all other things were perfect. Near to the station. Price is not so expensive.

Unfassbar tolles Restaurant mit einer sehr schönen Atmosphäre und einem genialen Ambiente. Das Essen ist unfassbar lecker und nur empfehlenswert. Der Service ist auch nur sehr lobenswert. Ich kann jedem nur raten , in diesem Restaurant vorbeizuschauen. So zufrieden war ich selten.

Rein zufällig dort gegessen. Der Kellner aus Süddeutschland war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Pizza war außerordentlich gut. Das Ambiente ist sehr geschmackvoll. Schönes Restaurant definitiv zu empfehlen.

Wir sind heute Mittag eher zufällig hier gewesen, waren aber sehr zufrieden. Der Service war wirklich super, die Einrichtung und das Ambiente sehr nett. Das Essen war auch sehr gut und auch preislich voll okay. Daher fünf Sterne und volle Empfehlung.

Essen und Ambiente sind top! Allerdings ist das Personal sehr unaufmerksam und eher mit seinen Handys beschäftigt. 4 Servicekräfte bei 6 Gästen und sowohl das Essen zu servieren als auch sich um den Gast zu kümmern haben leider keine Priorität.

Sehr leckeres und gemütliches Restaurant. Die KellnerInnen sind toll und der gesamte Aufenthalt war einfach super. Was auch praktisch ist, dass man ganz easy über die Website reservieren kann.

Tolles Restaurant mit gutem Preis/Leistung-Verhältnis. Und das Personal ist sehr freundlich im Umgang mit Kindern.
