Wow, I'm absolutely thrilled! The food is incredibly delicious. It's a truly wonderful experience, the atmosphere is amazing too.

There were six of us, and all the dishes were excellent. They had a good selection of wines. The service was highly competent, making it a perfect fit. In my opinion, a visit is definitely worthwhile. Making a reservation makes it easier, as it's very busy.

My husband and I were there today, and unfortunately, I have nothing but negative things to say. My husband ordered a 700-gram steak for €80, but it was so greasy from the oil that he actually felt sick. He didn't even eat half of it, of course. Unfortunately, when we told the waitress, she just said, "I'll pass it on to the kitchen later." It's a real shame for €170. We'll never go back.

Today was my first time at Asch. Unfortunately, I didn't like my food. What I find really disappointing is how dirty the place is. If you look up at the lights... they're so dusty you feel like the dust is falling onto your plate. There are cobwebs everywhere; it really needs a good cleaning! It's not nice 😳 and it's not a pleasant feeling to sit under those lights.

After being absolutely thrilled with ASH earlier this week following a doctor's appointment with a friend, I went back on Saturday with my wife and another couple after making a reservation. A staff member showed us to our table promptly at 7 p.m. Then an absolutely lovely and friendly waitress arrived, introduced herself as Nattakan, and informed us that she would be taking care of us that evening. The service was perfect from start to finish. Thank you for that and for the smiley-face "thank you" on the debit card statement! The food was good and reasonably priced. The location was spectacular for us "country bumpkins," although it was quite noisy. However, I understand that given the restaurant was at 100% capacity that evening. As a former employer, I naturally kept a watchful eye on things and witnessed how a staff member, whom I would classify as a manager, quickly and perfectly resolved a minor issue between a waitress and a customer, clearly to the complete satisfaction of the lady at the next table. ... Please consider my minimal criticism as a suggestion for improvement: The bread with aioli was cut far too thickly. It was simply impossible to open your mouth that wide. The herb butter served with the herb baguette was frozen solid and couldn't be spread on the remaining bread, even at the end of our meal. The bread also appeared to have been browned on the steak grill and tasted very meaty and somewhat acidic.

I have to say, I had dinner at your restaurant on November 4th, 2025, with a colleague. The food was really great, especially the service from the waitresses. There was a Turkish waitress and Lara, and I must say the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. The two waitresses were super friendly. I also left a good tip. I hope the service continues to be this good. I had a delicious filet mignon.

Patty completely cooked through and dry. Despite having a reservation, I still waited 40 minutes for a table.

Enjoyed Sunday brunch with friends at Ash Dortmund again. Due to a company outing, it was very crowded and quite loud. Both the cold and hot buffets were excellent, and the refill times were absolutely reasonable. The taste was as good as always, but the selection was smaller than before.

They simply couldn't grill the steak properly. We received the side dishes, but had to wait for the steak because it had gone wrong. The service was very attentive, but we won't be eating here again.

Only the occasional woody green asparagus slightly detracted from the overall impression. The noise level is on the high side, but just about bearable. Hence, a deduction for the ambience.

Massively overpriced, the value for money could definitely be better. The staff is excellent, friendly, and attentive. The ambiance and design create a noise level like that of a train station concourse at rush hour. The steak was okay, but I can get just as good elsewhere for €5-10 less. The pepper sauce was disappointing for me; watery and bland. Overall, a "see and be seen" place with good staff, average to good food at exorbitant prices.

Food: Burgers were mediocre. Two people had burgers, and both had patties that were bland in taste, very firm in texture, and not at all juicy. It seemed like frozen food. The rest of the burger was also nothing special. Conclusion: 2/5 Steak with sides was okay. 4/5 Considering it was very busy, the wait for food was perfectly reasonable. Atmosphere: Very busy during rush hour, the volume was okay upstairs, but too loud/crowded downstairs for me. Visually nice. Good connections & parking. 3/5 Service: They were on the ball, rattled off their text well, friendly & attentive. Unfortunately, the menu was very small in print. 4/5 Overall: 3/5

Very tasty food, mid-range price. One star deducted because it was very loud, as the room isn't divided into sections. The servers were incredibly friendly, and the music was very pleasant, featuring Motown and soul music. The chairs deserve a special mention, as they're very comfortable, even for older backs 😁

Chic restaurant with delicious spare ribs...

I used to enjoy eating here often. Unfortunately, for about a year now, I've noticed that the beef—the most important part of the entire restaurant!—has been getting worse and worse. I'd now almost call the "prime" rib-eye inedible. It's a shame. I've given the restaurant several chances to improve, because I initially assumed the first bad experience was just a "slip-up." But now I think the source of the meat must have changed for the worse.

I've tried Ash restaurants in various cities. I recommend them all, but Dortmund has been the best so far.

I'm very satisfied at the ASH. Our service was super friendly. There were two of us, and we both had the truffle pasta. It was a real treat. At our request, we were given extra beef and chicken, which also tasted fantastic. I can also highly recommend the lava cake for dessert. With such great service and delicious food, we'll definitely be back 🤝

The food was delicious. A nice, small menu. We sat outside and felt very comfortable. Our server was very nice, but inattentive, and our food arrived before our drinks. We had to wait half an hour for the bill, despite reminding them. We'd be happy to come back.

The private room where we sat for a wedding reception and the ambiance were beautiful. I would especially like to highlight Jonas's service – it's rare to find such exceptional service. He was extremely attentive, yet never intrusive, and offered creative ideas to enhance the drinks or food. Minor discrepancies were immediately resolved or smoothed over. The ASH should know and hopefully appreciate what a valuable employee they have in Jonas!

Jonas served us excellently; other waiters in the restaurant industry could learn a thing or two from him. The food was, as always, delicious. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, they've removed far too much from the menu. It was actually better before, when everyone could always find something. I won't be eating here again. It's a shame I used to come here quite often...

The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were also reasonable. However, I find €4.50 for a 0.33 liter beer or €4.20 for a 0.3 liter beer a bit cheeky. I like the ambiance, but the music tends to be a bit too loud. The music is appropriate.

We were there today with three people and were very pleasantly entertained by Jonas. A friendly welcome and very attentive service throughout the evening. Because it's one of us's birthday today, we even received a gift from the house: a fountain. We didn't miss anything. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. We'd be happy to come back.

We were extremely satisfied; the food was excellent, and the service was very friendly and accommodating. Luckily, we had a table in the back corner, so the noise level was pleasant. The food was average, nothing special. We found it rude that water bottles were placed on the table without being asked, and we were asked to pay for them afterwards, even though they weren't opened (poor or insufficient communication). Even though we were there with a large group, we received our food almost at the same time.

Employee Ms. Duygu is friendly and helpful.

Just had a family meal together. 2 chicken burgers and 1 Mexican burger. The food was fabulous. The service was absolutely fantastic. Relaxing atmosphere, dog friendly. Highly recommended. Just a 5 minute walk from the Holiday Inn Express Dortmund. Will be back again.

You're shown to your seat. And then the waitress takes a long time to order. Only after asking did a server come and take our order. After another long wait, the food finally arrived. And even when we were finished eating, it took almost 30 minutes before someone came to clear the table. We immediately asked for the bill before having to wait any longer. The food was great. However, the service left a lot to be desired.

The food was delicious. Very disappointed with the service. After asking if there was a salad, we were assured that there was cole slaw, but none was brought.

How rude do you have to be? People who ignore you for an extended period of time, regardless of whether you speak to them or wave. I've never experienced anything like that. Sad.

The service and food were excellent, not overpriced. The musical entertainment could have been done without a DJ. The ambiance, like many modern restaurants, was too industrial. But still recommended.

A spacious modern steakhouse restaurant. All the dishes we tried were well prepared and spiced just right, super enjoyable! The atmosphere of the place is exquisite too, a vibrant area with comfy seats and plenty of room to have a comfortable conversation. Small downside on the service which for us was quite slow and inattentive, had to 'catch' our server several times first to order and then to pay.

Unfortunately, my visit to the ASH Bochum was a huge disappointment. My steak was a complete disaster – tough, dry, and simply inedible. Added to that was a very unfriendly hostess who lacked any sense of hospitality. It's clear that the staff was completely overwhelmed. Overall, the food was disappointing, and the entire experience was anything but pleasant. I expected much more for a restaurant in this price range.

The tall, blond man standing at the entrance door is very rude, unfriendly, and gives you angry looks. It's a real shame that a restaurant like this has such employees.

I had the large rib-eye steak with green asparagus. It came with super crispy steakhouse fries. The meat was a dream come true. Truly fantastic! Perfectly grilled and delicious. I only didn't give it a star for ambiance because we sat outside. They could use more greenery and better table decorations, plus oil and spice grinders. Overall, a very good place for real predators. Top!

You can eat well and have a good time here.

I've been there several times now and have ordered steak (fillet, well done) several times. Unfortunately, the first time and now the last time, it was extremely dry. Well done can stay juicy, and that's how it was the other times. It was still quite tasty, and the side dishes were good too. I find some of the non-alcoholic drinks a bit expensive. I didn't try the alcoholic ones, so I can't comment on them. The staff has always been super friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely. It's especially nice to sit outside.

We went there for brunch. The selection is really great. They even have ribs and waffles to make yourself. The price includes filter coffee, which is okay. We'll be back.

We always loved coming here. A fantastic selection of excellent food, top service in a pleasant, peaceful atmosphere. Unfortunately, our last visit was nowhere near as good as usual. The electro disco music with a DJ was far too loud on the terrace at 6:30 p.m. Only after numerous complaints was the volume turned down. The once sumptuous menu has been pared down to a few manageable dishes. Especially dishes you can't find on every corner. No surf 'n' turf, which I consider unacceptable for a good steakhouse, and no mac 'n' chess, which were really great. Unfortunately, the steak was overcooked, and the burger was grilled to death. The service staff were absolutely top-notch! All in all, a disappointing experience. What used to be our absolute 5-star, "go there without hesitation and have a fantastic evening" no-brainer restaurant has now devolved into the "maybe we'll visit again in a year or two" category. What is a shame, a very sad development.

We visit Dortmund about four times a year, and a meal at The Ash is always part of the itinerary. The burgers are excellent value for money.

We were here with over 25 people for a delicious brunch... the food was always fresh and quickly refilled. Great... everyone was very satisfied... and our service was excellent, on top of everything, and super friendly... we'd love to come back...

No, not a recommendation. We left after 30 minutes. Nobody wanted to take our food order. And then we paid €12.50 for a glass of Alster beer and still water.

We were traveling with our child and dog and reserved a table online at short notice, including special requests that were immediately fulfilled. The service was also very friendly and attentive, always prompt and never intrusive. The food selection and quality left nothing to be desired. The same goes for the dessert. The drinks were also very, very good 👍 All in all, we felt very comfortable and will definitely come back. Ps.: There were also toys for our child 👌

I had a bit of bad luck with my 600g T-bone steak...otherwise, the food was good! The prices are a bit inflated!

We ate two rum steaks which were really chewing gum and I left half of them. As an apology the boss gave us a big bottle of water and we will never see steak again which was like a shoe sole.

We were on our way from Berlin to Bottrop and met up with a friend for dinner there. The atmosphere was super nice and the staff friendly. The burgers and fries were delicious.

The drink service was a disaster; you had to wait about 30 minutes for it, and that was in the summer! The food tasted like it had been reheated, and the plate was dirty.
