Mowwe Restaurant & Café in Dortmund

There were four of us and we ate there as part of this year's menu carousel. We didn't know the place before and were thrilled. The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were big enough and the service (Mila) was very, very attentive. Afterwards everyone was given a free espresso. All in all, we were very satisfied and will definitely go on a bike tour there again.

The four of us stopped at this restaurant. Good thing we had reserved a table - the place was very busy. The waiter seemed very stressed and the first intake of the drinks took a little longer. The food came very quickly and the main courses all tasted really, really good. All wishes were taken into account. Thank you for that. We didn't like any of the dessert options. The “Kaiserschmarn” in particular was not recommended. All in all a great restaurant - next time I'll just have a main course. The service person may have just had a bad day. We'll be back.

Food was good, I had a Jägerschnitzel, the waffles from my wife, sister and brother-in-law were a bit too dry. It was very busy and the staff was overwhelmed. My schnitzel came after about 25 minutes, the waffles after about 50 minutes. Guests came after us and had their waffles before us. A drink didn't come at all. Ambiance is very nice, staff friendly.

Celebrated my birthday here last weekend. The Italian menu was a hit and everyone was very satisfied and full afterwards. Milan took great care of us. Will definitely come back and can only recommend this restaurant. Thank you for the great carefree and relaxing evening.

The food was great! We had deer and wild boar. The location is also really nice. In the past I have sometimes found the waitresses to be unfriendly and overwhelmed. But that is definitely no longer the case. So all in all, really recommended.

Erster Kommentar : machen wir nicht aufgelegt Zweiter Kommentar: haben wir kein Personal für aufgelegt Haus Mowwe sind somit zwei Aufträge weggebrochen. Familien Brunch mit 30 Personen Trauerfeier mit 60 Personen. Von uns keine Empfehlung

Today we did a big lap through the Kurler Busch and wanted to stop off at Mowwe. We were thrown out again right at the entrance because we had a dog with us. Completely empty restaurant, but good if you can afford to avoid dog walkers. I just think they should announce their hostility to dogs somewhere on the homepage, then you can look for another destination to stop by.

We went there for the first time on a recommendation. Now we will recommend it to others ☺️☺️again and again 👍👍👍

The service is always nice and attentive. The food is great as are the cakes. As a young family, we always enjoy taking a walk there 😁

We celebrated our wedding there a few days ago in a small circle. We sat in a separate room which had an adjoining terrace and a very nice garden. We were given very good advice in advance about the choice of food and were able to put together a small menu for our guests. Everything was great! Service was very pleasant and attentive, everything was very clean and, above all, the food was very, very tasty! I could only judge the ambience and the service, because the service staff walked past us several times for 15 minutes, the young gentleman from the service said he wasn't responsible and nothing happened, so we left... there's no need , there are other restaurants... for the 1* atmosphere

By chance we stopped here on our bike tour and really enjoyed it, we sat on the terrace in the beautiful sunshine, the service lady with the black hair had a beloved Ruhrpot charm for us, that's exactly what we like, not fake!! The Mowwe Stammtisch Schnitzel with delicious fried potatoes and salad was awesome, that's how it tastes! Prices completely ok 👌 We would love to come back with friends 🙋🏻‍♀️🌞

We had a company party with good food and fun for the children. The location was great.

A nice place to maybe drink a beer when you're cycling. But I won't eat there anymore. We ate there for the third time and the food is more like a snack, nothing has changed, only the prices for the rather poor food have increased like in the star restaurant. Simple schnitzel with chanterelle sauce and hash browns €26.70. Everything was as if it had been prepared in the deep fryer. The other dish was steak. We wanted it to be easy, so we got a shoe sole. So in short, the ambience is good, the food is bad.

Food not really good Once and never again

We were invited to a gold wedding there and were surprised. Excellent food, nice ambience and extremely friendly staff.

We were there for the first time yesterday. Seems to be a very popular stopping point for cyclists (including special bicycle parking). There were still many cyclists in the restaurant around 7 p.m. We had reserved a table outside, between the barn and the restaurant. Unfortunately there is no sun there at that time, so you have to sit at the front of the street. Otherwise it's a lovely place to sit, in the middle of the fields in nature. Service and speed very good/fast (even though there was a larger event in the barn at the same time). The dishes were visually perfectly prepared. The portions are generous and, above all, very tasty. P.S.: For the afternoon guests (bicycle tourers) there are fresh waffles...

We had to wait half an hour until we were spoken to, the internet map wasn't up to date, so we were approached by an old lady with curly hair, she was really unfriendly and unkempt... I had no idea what was going on, the waiter was really nice... food was OK

We were there on a Friday evening with our group of 5 old men. The food was very tasty and sensibly portioned. The service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, at times it was a bit too loud to have a good conversation. We'd love to come back.

After a bad experience a few years ago, we gave Mowwe another chance. Very nice restaurant, food ok. (although the schnitzel didn't look like it was breaded on site) - Unfortunately, we subjectively perceived the service from the head waitress as unfriendly and snippy, as usual. Everyone can have a bad day - but we expected (a little) more for the high prices.

The Westphalian Krüstchen didn't really blow us away - the price for it (and for two drinks) certainly did. Here, the price-performance ratio would have to be fundamentally readjusted. At least we were able to get outdoor tables for a good hour despite not having a reservation. The service staff is friendly and on the ball. The Hofcafé is also in a very idyllic location.

The food is really good and delicious! Were outside, but that's nothing special. Initially there was an older service, but it didn't seem customer-oriented... Friendly is different. But these days you probably have to sell high-priced food with a rather serious demeanor.

We've been there for dinner several times and have never been disappointed. The service is always nice, polite and has one or two attentive eyes for missing things. The food has always been very tasty and delivered quickly. The goose is highly recommended at Christmas time. We also held our wedding there with the barbecue buffet and a free wedding ceremony. We were very happy with everything. Communication in advance went well and all promises were kept. The service on the day was very good and was always present. All in all, we would do everything exactly the same again.

Nice place to visit for cyclists!

We were there by bike. A very nice restaurant in a very quiet location. Great to reach by bike or car. We enjoyed the food very much. The portions are completely fine. The prices are a little higher but this is completely okay for the quality and location. The service was simply great. Very friendly and attentive. We were served by a very loving Ukrainian woman. Who always had a smile on her face. So she enjoyed her work. We definitely recommend making a reservation by phone in advance. When the weather is good it is always quite crowded. For children there is a very pleasant playground at the back of the yard that is fenced in. Gladly again. 😉👍

We celebrated our wedding in the beautiful barn including a wedding ceremony in the countryside. The day was perfect! The grill buffet was amazing and the service from Team Mowwe was on point. I can only recommend that everyone organize a celebration here. Preferably 10 stars!

A location known beyond the borders of Dortmund - the red house. A destination for many cyclists in the summer, a sought-after location for weddings, anniversaries... nestled in a rural setting, Haus Mowwe invites you to have a good time. Good, down-to-earth cuisine leaves nothing to be desired, and the friendly service puts you in a good mood. But be careful! On nice weekends you can be unlucky and even the bicycle parking lot is overcrowded. Bring your time and wait, it's worth it.

A great restaurant in beautiful nature. The surrounding area invites you to take a walk. The food was great, the service was very friendly! There was a parallel celebration next door in the barn, but the service was not restricted! :-) We felt in good hands there and will definitely come back!!!

I think paying 15.95 in full for grated biscuits is very steep. They were tasty, but the service was stressful and drinks were added. There is no option for me to go there again...mfg

After a long walk with the dog and in very sunny temperatures, we took a break here to quench our thirst. That day the service outside wasn't very attentive. After a long wait, we had to call them to be able to order. The water bowl was also empty. But it's nice to sit there.

Mowwe bietet Donnerstags den "Reibekuchentag" - zum Sattessen. Die Reibekuchen sind sehr lecker, mit Schinken, Lachs, Kräuterquark und Apfelmus als Beilagen im Komplettpaket für knapp 16 Euro ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Auch das Saisonangebot Spargelrisotto mit gebratenem Lachsfilet war delikat und mit ca 23 Euro preislich angemessen. Service wie immer sehr freundlich, trotz hoher Auslastung auch schnell.

My favorite restaurant in all of Dortmund! Remote and if you're lucky, no annoying little children! Food always fresh and great! Staff typical Ruhrpott! If you don't understand the humor, go to Munich! Always my pleasure!

Mowwe - eine Adresse in Dortmund, welche jedoch der Vergangenheit angehört. Gepfefferte Preise, welche absolut nicht gerechtfertigt sind. Schnitzel klein und zäh, Bratkartoffeln ohne jegliche Zutaten wie Zwiebeln, Speck, Pfeffer und Salz. Geschmacklich ein Desaster. „Man gibt es der Küche weiter!“. Das Mowwe punktet ausschließlich mit der idyllischen Lage, Essen Fehlanzeige! Für mich ist ein weiterer Besuch ausgeschlossen.

We sat outside and there was only cake that wasn't fully thawed. The waitress didn't understand what to ask. That was better here.

The beer garden is a bit desolate. The kitchen was thawed and still very cold. I don't have to go there again.

Change March 11, 2024: were there again, the prices have risen drastically. We won't come as often anymore because no one can afford it anymore.

I can't say anything about the food as we've only been there for coffee and cake. These are definitely highly recommended. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, even if the café is very busy. The location is of course wonderful.

We, my work colleague and I, have been guests of the Mowwe family regularly for many years, often on Fridays after work. We no longer want to afford the latest prices, for example for a Jaegerschnitzel over €20. What a shame actually!

Shame dogs aren't allowed in. Especially as you're in a forest, next to public footpaths, fields and welcome walkers. Just walkers without dogs are allowed then? Too bad as I'm in the forest every week with my dog.

Menu carousel in the Mowwe restaurant, highly recommended. 4 people, both main courses were served and everyone was very satisfied. Very tasty and attractively presented dishes. Nice selection of wines to accompany the courses, which were generously served. It was great that the soft drinks for non-wine drinkers were included (unfortunately there are other options). Very friendly and attentive service staff. The dining room is modern and perhaps a little too clean, but the menu carousel tables were perfectly set with an extra Guddie. We'd love to come back.

A must if you want a delicious meal. A reservation is advisable.

We have visited the restaurant a few times and have always been very impressed with the food and the service. Diversity and friendliness are the order of the day here. On the occasion of a small birthday party in the special guest room, we were once again impressed by Mowwe's attentive service and successful cuisine. We and all of our guests were very satisfied.

Today I was invited to dinner at the Restaurant and Cafe Mowwe. Apart from the fact that the restaurant is quite remote but well signposted, I was surprised by the ambience. A large parking lot offers guests enough space. The reception inside was very friendly. The reservation by email in advance worked well. The staff was very friendly and attentive. You asked if you would like another drink, but not too intrusively. The food was served quickly and there was a long wait. It tasted good.

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt nicht. Das Essen war mittelmäßig... es ist klar, alles ist Geschmacksache, aber wir werden nicht moch mal hingehen und empfehlen wir es nicht weiter.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und gut gewürzt! Die Portionen sind angemessen, Service ist sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Schön wäre es, wenn Hunde auch mit ins Restaurant dürften.

Ich bin im Sommer oft da und kann den Kuchen mit leckerem Cappuccino sehr empfehlen. Eine wirklich schöne landhaus Atmosphäre!

Schönes, gemütliches Landlokal mit guten Speisen aus regionalen Zutaten. Lockere Athmosphäre.Das Restaurant ist auch das Ziel von vielen Radfahrern. Preise etwas höher aber gerechtfertigt.

40 Jähriges Klassentreffen in der Scheune!!! optimale Location für 100 Personen paar mehr darf es auch sein.Rund um ist es grün und Wald ist zu sehen wenn der Aussenbereich genutzt wird (rauchen).Nach nur einem Gericht kann ich mir ein Urteil zur Küche nicht erlauben, doch was ich von den anderen Teilnehmern gehört habe war Alles soweit in Ordnung und lecker. Gerne wieder!!!

Toller Laden, gutes Essen. Aber die Bedienung (älteren Semesters) sehr arrogant, patzig und unfreundlich … Es war anders ..

Wir waren öfter nach unserem Hundespaziergang dort. Alles super 👍.

Essen selbst war gut. Leider merkte man den Personalmangel. 2 Gesellschaften, Biergarten und Restaurant geöffnet, so dass es leider zu sehr langen Wartezeiten zwischen den Gängen und beim Servieren bzw. der Nachbestellung der Getränke kam. Dazu war das wenige Personal teilweise ziemlich gestresst und überfordert.

Kaffee und Kuchen sollte gleichzeitig serviert werden.
