You can do it... it's not a snap, but the prices are justified. The food was fresh and tasty and of very good quality, the atmosphere was really inviting and cozy and last but not least the staff was very friendly, attentive and professional...which is no longer a given these days, unfortunately! Nach meiner Vorspeise die zügig und frisch am Tisch an kam, hatten wir beide ein Steak mit Folienkartoffel, das dann doch recht lange auf sich warten ließ. Von der Empore gegenüber der Küche konnten wir unser Essen für 10 Minuten in Augenschein nehmen, bevor es vom Kellner von der warmhalte Lampe befreit wurde. Das Ergebnis war eine sehr ledrige Folienkartoffel, die jedoch die Ebene des Essbaren noch nicht verlassen hatte. Mein Steak war im Gegensatz zu dem meines Mannes von Sehnen durchzogen und ungenießbar. Nach Reklamation beim Kellner kam die Serviceleiterin und bestimmte das mein Essen erneuert wurde. Das neu aufgelegte Essen kam zügig, frisch, sehr heiß am Tisch an und schmeckte hervorragend. Die Essens dieses Abend war jedoch das mein Mann und ich alleine Speisten, was nicht der ursprünglichen Idee dieses Abends folgte. Pannen können passieren, jedoch war unser Abend nicht so toll.

Mit dem Essen und dem freundlichen Service zufrieden, nur sollte man sich nicht zu einer ganzen Flasche Wasser überreden lassen. Was kommt ist gesprudeltes Leitungswasser für satte 6,75. Das finde ich schon unangemessen viel. Das Zeitfenster, das reserviert werden konnte, betrug 1,5 Stunden. Wir waren ungefähr 2,5 Stunden da, ohne das uns jemand hinaus genötigt hätte. Das wäre wahrscheinlich nur im Falle hoher Auslastung passiert.

Ambiance is really great! The waiters are also friendly, but I wouldn't go there again. The side dishes of fries and the drink were convincing (even if the wrong flavor of lemonade was served), but the steak (which is why you actually go there) wasn't. It was ordered medium, unfortunately it arrived well done. According to the waiter, it couldn't be replaced, which would be a shame. Still, for the price, I expect the steak to be the way I order it.

Went to see you for the first time yesterday. As a German/American, I appreciate good service and I really wasn't disappointed. As I know it from the States, a warm welcome from the hostesses. The person who accompanied you to the place, the very friendly waitless person, introduced herself by name and took the order. It was just great. The food was very tasty, but I'm now coming to a small criticism, hence only four stars. I would have liked larger portions when it comes to the side dish.

Normally I had good experience from this restaurant. I ordered pork spare ribs which I’m a big fan of them, the quality of the meat was very low for the price they give it for. The responsible person of the shift was not interested at all to my feedback, she told me that she checked the quality of the meat and was perfect like always. Unfortunately will not visit it again. The service was good though. The prices are too high for what they offer!!!

Spontaneous visit to the restaurant, loud canteen atmosphere, service okay, but price-performance a disgrace! I had a dish with mashed potatoes - it was, I asked, mashed potatoes! I don't even do that at home because it doesn't taste good and in the restaurant, where I pay around €25 for a dish, I definitely don't expect bagged puree! Leider war unser heutiger Besuch im“The Ash“ sehr enttäuschend! Unser Tisch befand sich direkt neben der Toilette. Auf Anfragen einen anderen Tisch zu bekommen, bekam ich nur die knappe Antwort, dass das heute ebenso geplant wäre. Nicht besonders kundenfreundlich!!!! Die Tür zur Toilette ging an diesem Abend mindestens 50-70 mal auf und zu. Es handelt sich dabei um eine schwere Glastüre. Das Geräusch kann man sich vielleicht vorstellen. Des Weiteren war mein Essen nur lauwarm. Alles in allem sehr enttäuschend.!!!! Ich denke, das war unser letzter Besuch in diesem Restaurant..

Das Essen war früher gut und wir sind gerne und oft gekommen. Dann fing man an zu sparen. Die neue Sorte Chickenwings schmecken überhaupt nicht mehr, die Soßenportionen wurden halbiert und die Preise stiegen stetig... Jetzt haben sie den Bogen aber überspannt! 200g Hüft-Steak, echt winzig, kostet 21,90 Euro. Ein 250g Hüft-Steak 31,90. Echt jetzt? Für 50 Gramm Hüftfleisch 10 Euro mehr!!!!! Bei dem horrenden Preis ist dann eine Beilage enthalten. Übrigens auch nur eine winzige Portion. Satt wird man hier nicht mehr. Wir haben jetzt unsere Treuepunkte eingelöst und die App gelöscht... "Tschüss The Ash"

Our steak, which was ordered medium, was cooked very unevenly and unfortunately had the consistency of shoe sole. In some places it was hard to chew, the whole thing bordered on a jaw workout. The cocktails were okay, but unfortunately nothing more, and gave the impression that no high-quality ingredients were used (which would be appropriate given the prices). The price-performance ratio here is absolutely not right; in the end, the two of us left €100 behind for a meal that, above all, made us sad. Too bad!

Man kriegt was man erwartet, gutes essen was den Preis zu großen Teilen gerechtfertigt, und professionellen Service. Das einzige was uns an diesem Abend aufgefallen ist war, dass man ein bisschen das Gefühl hatte schnell bestellen zu müssen. Und in einer Situation gab es kein Malzbier, weshalb eine Bestellung nicht möglich war (Bier mit Schuss). Daraufhin wurde die Homemade Lemonade als Alternative empfohlen, was einfach gar nicht passt. Meckern auf hohem Niveau, denn sonst wars ein super Abend mit leckerem Essen und netten Kellnern!

“Lange Wartezeiten und enttäuschender Service – leider keine Empfehlung für The ASH” Unser Besuch im The ASH war leider eine Enttäuschung. Obwohl das Essen in Ordnung war, war der Service eine echte Blamage. Wir mussten mehrfach sehr lange warten und wurden auf Nachfrage, wann unsere Servicekraft kommt, immer wieder vertröstet. Es schien, als wären wir für das Personal einfach nicht prioritär. Für ein Restaurant in dieser Preisklasse und mit diesem Anspruch erwarte ich wesentlich besseren Service. Schade – hier werde ich wohl nicht wieder hingehen.

Overall the visit was disappointing. The reservation was good even though I actually wanted to book earlier and the restaurant wasn't full. Still have phone. One person was booked later which was no problem. The ambience was as good as expected. The waiter was nice and tried to be funny. The quality of the food was good...but warm food would have been nice. The starters were ok...well for bread with herb butter €5.90...three citizens between cold to warm...a steak for €33 with a potato that was cold and very small...herb butter was served for €3...in between a lady came and asked if everything was ok...we then ordered the drinks from her...otherwise I would have had the feeling the waiter had forgotten us. Luckily I paid in cash and printed a tip of €10...if I pay by EC, the amount is 10%...if I calculate that it will take us 45 minutes to get there...Unfortunately not anymore...

We went here as a group for dinner during the week. A friendly waiter introduced himself at the beginning and took our drink order. After that the evening became increasingly unprofessional. When the drinks arrived, a new waitress introduced herself, although we continued to see our waiter in the room; We were not told why he was replaced. The food order was not received very enthusiastically, and questions could only be answered halfway clearly or even incorrectly, as it later turned out when paying. The monthly special was advertised on posters everywhere in the very stylish location (free 0.4 beer with every burger order). To do this you had to download an app, which we did and promptly told the waitress that we wanted to use this (and other app offers) - she pointed out later, when the bill came, then everything would be recorded. We got the food - and kudos to the kitchen that, given the size of our group, it actually came almost at the same time - only one colleague had to wait another 5 minutes. Unfortunately, the quality of the steaks in particular left a lot to be desired, so we expected more from a steakhouse. The flank was burnt on one side, unfortunately the outside had to be cut off, which is simply unbelievable given the price (>40€ for 200g); Ordered medium, it came through on one side, rare on the other, and was also already cut into pieces. The fillet was also well done instead of medium rare. The port wine jus for €3 extra is, at best, a poor hunter's sauce; Consistency like it was mixed with the sauce thickener and the taste is far away from port wine. When asked about this, a waiter as he was clearing away just said that he would tell the kitchen - we couldn't give any more feedback because he (like another colleague a few minutes before) dropped half of the dishes he had collected at that moment. Two of our group had leftover food and sauce on their clothes; they offered to cover the cleaning costs. The ash tower and ribs were good, the medallions were best; None of the sauces were convincing (not even mayo and ketchup, which were also charged extra for the fries), the cheesecake was too soft for our taste. When it came to the bill, the next, and fortunately the last, negative experience came before we left: the monthly offer was only valid for one person (but it was still not taken into account on our bill) because each order supposedly required its own app code. Discussing was of no use with the unmotivated and customer-oriented service. In any case, it is clear to us: this was our first and last visit here.

Had an amazing anniversary with my wife. The staff was super nice. They arranged for it to all be brought as a surprise, ask I asked for. Just a shame that the lava cake at the end was just a chocolate cake with no “lava” in it whatsoever. Just overcooked lava cake. As a chef myself I expected it to be a nice finisher for my chocolate loving wife. Either way, had a beautiful night and good food overall. Thanks The Ash!

My son and I were at ASH the day before yesterday... I reserved the 2nd table online in advance. The reception upon arrival was very, very friendly. The restaurant was very busy and 3/4 full. We like the ambience. My son had the "Ash Tower" burger and was satisfied. I ordered the pulled pork burger and immediately ordered an additional portion of the pulled pork meat because I like this meat. I was totally disappointed when it was served because there was so little There was meat on it even though I had ordered twice. When I complained, I asked the chef and the server confirmed to me that the normal portion was 180 grams and that the double portion should therefore be 360 ​​grams... never, ever, I come from the catering industry myself (head chef ) and I know about portion sizes. I won't order this again. You could count the steak fries on two hands. The taste of the food was good...but as many reviewers wrote, it was only lukewarm! As a starter we ordered 3 slices of toasted/grilled bread with herb butter. The herb butter was served like an ice cream ball in a small bowl. It's really difficult to handle if you take the butter with a knife because the ball rolls with it. A little tip. ..please spread/fill the herb butter completely into the bowl...that way it would be easier to spread the butter out. The service was very, very friendly. All in all, I'll give the ASH another chance if I visit again....!

We order the nachos which came with a small pot of guacamole only no other dips or sauce were on or mixed on top so unfortunately this led to the remainder being hard to eat as they were very dry & tasteless. We then order two burgers for our mains (x1 Phili cheese burger special which should come with fries and a soft drink & x1 truffle burger please note you have to order all sides separately your burger does not come with fries!) we waited an hour for this to arrive! No waiter came in and checked on us or asked us for a drink reorder. We had to ask where our food was! Upon arrival my food was stone cold, the phili cheese was not a burger but a slim piece of steak covered in mustard which was alls you could taste. My partners truffle burger looked great but was missing the fries so had to ask for these. 30/40 mins pass again for someone to come and ask how the food was at that point we asked for the bill. The phili cheese burger special was charged all individually so no free fries or drink as stated on the menu. I asked for this to be removed as it was uneaten and the waiter did politely say they can re cook this. After being there for 2 hours and passed 10pm this would be the last thing I would want!! They removed the burger only from the bill! And left cold uneaten fries on. Needless to say not great. My partners burger was nice (not steaming hot I may add but just about ok to eat) we were excited to eat here after a long day of travelling but were sadly disappointed.

A disappointing experience with serious service deficiencies We had reserved a table at Ash for 6:45 p.m. and were there on time. However, despite our punctuality, we had to wait over 20 minutes before we were shown to our table. Unfortunately, when we were finally allowed to sit down, it turned out to be anything but optimal: the table was on the upper floor, right next to the toilets, and apparently in the “blind spot” of our waiter. This person, who was responsible for looking after our table, completely disappeared after the appetizer had been cleared away - until we finally had to ask another waitress to bring the bill. The concept of the restaurant is that each table is assigned a special “response waiter”, while other service staff only provide support, for example when serving the food. However, this arrangement failed miserably during our visit. After the main course we were not paid any attention to, let alone provided with service. No questions, no attention - it was as if we were simply invisible to the staff. What's particularly annoying is that we're not new to Ash, we've been guests several times. But with each visit the service seemed to deteriorate further. After that evening, however, we decided not to visit Ash again for a long time. The quality of the food is beyond question - the dishes are still excellent. But what use is the best food if the service leaves so much to be desired? One of the possible causes for the poor service seems obvious: either there are not enough attentive waiters on duty, or the restaurant is simply allocating too many tables to adequately cover the existing capacity. The staff was noticeably overwhelmed, and that was exactly what was presented to us as an “explanation” for the poor service. But excessive demands on employees should never be used as an excuse for ignoring guests. Finally, I would like to mention that the table next to us received very good care, while we were simply ignored. Of course, this leaves us with questions – was it a personal problem the waiter had with us? Or is it simply due to poor organization? Either way, the experience was a disgrace, and improvements to the service are urgently needed so that the Ash lives up to its good reputation.

My son looked at the menu for a bit longer, which probably wasn't quick enough for him, then a comment came: "Because it's taking you so long to decide, I've already brought the drinks in that time." “The meat cannot be served medium rare because of the risk of salmonella.” Honestly now? No guest wants to hear that. There were no tips. We are usually very generous, but this kind of behavior is NOT acceptable at all. Afterwards, we were served by a gentleman from the Dominican Republic who seemed much friendlier and accommodating. Guys, when it comes to prices, the tone has to be right, otherwise you'll lose customers like we did. Over and out.

If you come to the restaurant on a rainy day, you should avoid the seats under the skylight. The window is leaking and the broth from the roof drips onto the food on the plate. When asked about this, the waiter asked us(!) briskly what we think we should do? Am I the manager??? Luckily we were “allowed” to sit at another table. For this we were punished with a wait of almost an hour for our order. Apparently the kitchen didn't know that the food should simply be served to a table... I previously thought that serving was the waiter's job? Last but not least, a vegetarian burger was still served with MEAT. Our guest choked it down, he didn't want to cause a stir, but he was very disappointed. The “fun” cost us almost €90 for 3 people. We won't be seen again any time soon. P.S. Loud music and waiters with very strange pronunciation don't mix well...

After strenuous days at the congress here in Aachen, you can treat yourself to something good: tender, delicious fillet of beef with a delicious baked potato. For dessert: vanilla ice cream with Amarena cherries. Anyone who comes to Aachen can highly recommend this location. If you don't have a reservation, no problem. With et3as patience you can quickly find a place. The service here is very friendly and quick. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. From the upper gallery you have a beautiful view of the bar and kitchen.

Nach langer Wartezeit und Nachfrage erschienen unsere Hauptgerichte etwa 1 Stunde nach Bestellung. Die bestellten Vorspeisen wurden leider vergessen. Mehrere Getränke und Beilagen waren nicht mehr verfügbar mit der Begründung, dass gestern eine geplante (!) Großveranstaltung stattgefunden habe und heute Sonntag sei ... Das vegane Gericht enthielt Käse, ging zurück in die Küche und wurde dann nach ca. 15 Minuten neu und nun richtig serviert, aber dann nur noch mit der halben Menge der Beilage. Die Qualität des Essens war gut, das Steak wie gewünscht Medium. Der Preis für diese Leistung war überteuert, die Kräuterbutter zum Steak wurde z.B.. mit 3,50 € extra berechnet

We've been there several times and the food was, as always, great and our waiters also did a good job. However, the ladies downstairs at reception were quite unfriendly and, in my opinion, quite overwhelmed. We arrived (I had reserved a table for 4 at 6:30pm) 2 were already there and were waiting for us at the bar. That's when the chaos and the overwhelming demands on the ladies began, but first we were told at reception that we should be ready shortly after 8 p.m. and then have to leave the restaurant, which spoiled our mood a bit. So we were led to the table and saw that the other two were sitting at the bar and so my friend went over to them to tell them that we were there and could go to the table. There they were approached by a receptionist and told they weren't allowed to just go to the table - they would be led there. She also didn't understand the situation that we already had a table and just wanted to let the others know that they could come with us. Luckily, a waiter recognized the situation and resolved the whole thing and brought her to the table. Finished with the main course shortly before 8 p.m., we wanted to have dessert and espresso, which we had at a quarter past 8, when another one of these ladies came and said, somewhat unkindly, that after dessert we should please pay and leave would need the table for a large group that is coming soon. The waiters were visibly uncomfortable with this situation and were the only ones who tried to offer us a solution, namely simply a table a few meters away. The ladies didn't come up with this idea; in my opinion, they were overwhelmed by the situation of accommodating this large group. In my opinion, it shouldn't happen to treat guests like that. In the end we were so annoyed that we rejected the waiter's idea and left. Will we come back again? I do not think so! P.S: My suggested solution: We could have been told when we made the reservation that the table was only available for one hour. Then we could have thought about whether we should take it or not. And don't just let someone come and tell someone that you only have an hour for a starter/main course/dessert. But the main thing is to take the money with you!

I've been to ASH at least 7 or 8 times now and have always enjoyed ordering steak with all the trimmings. The ambience is absolutely top notch - as is the service. A very small deduction (but there are no 4.5 stars in the rating) is the fact that the steak was NOT always perfect. If you would like to have a nice, cozy meal with friends or something similar for two or three hours, you have come to the right place here at ASH. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and hope I won't be disappointed with the steak.

In this steakhouse, like in La Fabrik, the prices are high...but for the money you not only get good service, a great ambience, but also fantastic food in terms of quality and quantity. The side dishes for the steak, which you could put together yourself, were generously served in porcelain bowls. I have rarely eaten a steak of this good quality like this. High quality meat, medium, well seasoned, mushrooms and fried potatoes plentiful and also deliciously seasoned and fresh. Absolutely recommended...👍

Bei Ambiente Lautstärke und besonders beim Service gibt es nichts zu meckern. Ganz im Gegenteil. Aber leider ist das Essen bei 2 von 3 Besuchen nicht so toll gewesen. Geschmacklich ist es zwar super, aber die Garstufen beim Fleisch passen nicht wirklich. Und bei 3/3 Besuchen ist das Essen irgendwas zwischen kalt und lauwarm. Man könnte das jetzt darauf schieben, dass es immer richtig voll war und sowas mal passieren kann (was OK wäre) aber nicht 3 mal. Dann nimmt man entweder zu viele Reservierungen oder in der Küche läuft es nicht rund. Schade, denn vor Ort fühlt man sich wirklich wohl.

Das Essen war wie immer sehr lecker und die Bedienungen auch sehr freundlich, allerdings Betrugen unsere durchschnittlichen Wartezeiten bis das Essen was wir bestellt hatten auch bei uns ankam, bei unseren letzten Besuchen immer mind. 45min gedauert Gestern war es dann knapp 1 Stunde und wir hatten auch schon das Phänomen das wir 1:30std auf unser Essen warten mussten. Ich kann ja verstehen, wenn es mal was länger dauert. Nichtsdestotrotz sollte es meiner Meinung nach nicht die Regel sein, dass man von 4 Besuchen 3 mal eine Stunde auf sein Essen warten muss. Trotzdem hat es mir ansonsten wie immer gefallen und ich werde das Restaurant auch bestimmt noch häufiger besuchen.

Man sollte mitteilen dass die Souse oder das Brot Extra kostet. Das Trinkgeldsverfahren mit Staffelung von 10 -12 -17…. % war nicht mir angenehm. Ich würde selbst den Betrag zum Trinkgeld nennen. ( Obwohl ich gestern 10% TG bezahlt habe) 11 Euro etwa!

The Ash in Aachen looks beautiful, modern and stylish. The food is good. Unfortunately, at least on the benches inside, it's incredibly uncomfortable and low to sit - the table and seat height don't match. Unfortunately, the food came very quickly - the service was very nice and polite, but seemed rushed: the restaurant was full, a constant flow of people. Overall, the restaurant is far too loud for me. The background noise is very high, conversations at the table are tiring - a relaxing evening is hardly possible. Unfortunately there were a few supplements missing, but nothing dramatic, but it's a shame.

Wir waren im Nachmittag dort und es war nicht viel los. Leider hat der Service sehr lange gedauert. Unsere Getränkebestellung ging verloren. Die Bestellung des Essens wurde nach über 30 Minuten aufgenommen. Obwohl im Lokal max 7 Tische belegt waren. Mit dem Hauptgang war scheinbar Schichtwechsel. Die neue Kraft war dann auch engagierter. Das Essen war wie immer sehr lecker und gut gemacht.

We've been to the Ash in Aachen three times now and unfortunately it got worse each time. I ordered 2 burgers that tasted good, but on the last one part of the patty was still raw. The fries as a side dish were very dry and hard. On the third attempt, we ordered the corn-fed chicken with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The best part was the sauce and the coleslaw. The chicken was grilled so much that it tasted burnt and the mashed potatoes were not freshly prepared, had a sticky consistency and tasted like a ready-made bag. The portions are also quite small, at least for the chicken. But the burgers fill you up well. The service was very good the first two times (young man dressed in black), unfortunately the last time it was someone who was quite inattentive and didn't even ask if everything was okay. All in all, it's a shame, but for the prices you'd expect something different.

Today we ate at the Ash in Aachen. I ordered my meat medium rare, but unfortunately it was pretty well done. When we paid I saw that I was charged for a Lillet WildBerry even though I only ordered a Schweppes WildBerry. When I asked, I was told that even without Lillet it would be the same price even though the menu said half price. I found it quite outrageous! After months, they still haven't contacted me. You can save yourself your answer!

Es war sehr warm an dem Abend (wochentags) und die Sonne brannte noch zwischen den Sonnenschirmen ganz ordentlich auf der Haut. Service freundlich und zuvorkommend. Essen kam trotz nahezu vollem Restaurant in angemessenem Zeitraum. Fleisch für jeden von uns drei Personen war perfekt, genauso individuell zubereitet wie bestellt. Der Nachtisch kam sehr schnell. Stühle / Sessel waren bequem, Atmosphäre leger. Insgesamt ein sehr schöner Abend. Ich würde das Restaurant für ein gutes Abendessen in legerer, lockerer aber netter Atmosphäre empfehlen. Wir werden wiederkommen.

We were looking for a restaurant nearby, which isn't always easy. It is important to note that although it is a hotel, the restaurant is accessible to non-residents. The menu at 38.5 euros was excellent, very generous, and the service was very friendly.

I ordered penne pollo pasta that was advertised as having chicken breast, but I swear I only found two pieces of chicken in it - the rest was mushrooms and peppers! In fact, my food was little different from that of a vegetarian.
