Wow, this might be the worst experience we have ever had. We were fans of this restaurant a few months ago, because those last visits were great: food was good (moderately good and tasty), ambiance was nice and cozy, service was delightful. But today was the day that ended that streak. It was my birthday and we decided to go back to the place where we thought was worth celebrating at, but the waiter killed that: rude, keeps ignoring our needs and simply ignorant. I have a question for him: ‘Do you enjoy treating customers differently based on how they look? It seems like you would rather lose your ethics than your tip.’ And we always tip our servers nicely, because we work in the industry too. Cleaning our long-waited table seems harder than anything else, and his attitude is just the cherry on the top. I don’t know how these places get worse by time, especially with their attitude and service quality. What a waste of time.

Super delicious, friendly waiters, and good service. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Prices are reasonable, too. We'll definitely be back. Tip: get the starters—3 for €12—they're amazing :)

I eat at this restaurant quite often and am always very satisfied. It's not exactly cheap, but the quality is usually excellent.

We dined at The ASH Aachen and had a wonderful evening. The steak was cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely superb. The dessert was also delicious. Our waiter, Domingo, was extremely friendly, attentive, and very welcoming. The owner, Dennis, was also incredibly personable and came by several times to check if everything was alright. All the staff were incredibly friendly – ​​we were completely satisfied and felt very comfortable. Thank you so much for this fantastic evening; we'll definitely be back!

We were very disappointed; the food needs a lot of improvement. My wife had a chicken burger, which was a complete disaster; you can get much better at Burger King. The other burgers weren't great either. The steaks were okay, and the vegetarian option was very good. We've been there several times now, and it's gotten worse each time. It's a real shame, because it's actually a nice-looking restaurant.

We had a wonderful time at this elegant restaurant. The steak, salad, and sides were all delicious and freshly prepared. The ambiance is very chic and clean, and the restaurant was quite busy. They offer fantastic cuts of meat, and the burgers looked great too. Our waiter, who wore glasses, was very friendly. We were a party of four for dinner. We had two burgers, a steak, and a sirloin steak. Side dishes cost extra, but there was a wide variety of options. The restaurant is modern yet cozy and beautifully decorated. The chairs were comfortable. The service was friendly, funny, and attentive. For dessert, we had apple crumble and strawberry vanilla cream cake. Everything tasted really good. The meat was cooked well and was of good quality. The side salad was varied, and my mashed potatoes were large and delicious. We each had several drinks and enjoyed a very pleasant evening. All in all, we paid €190. Not cheap, but in my opinion, reasonable. I would gladly come again.

Very tasty burger, good fries and very nice staff.

We were there on a Friday evening; it was packed, and the noise level was correspondingly high. The servers were super friendly and really quick and eager to help. While the menus are huge, the print is so tiny that you can barely read anything in the dim lighting, even with glasses! My baked potato was lukewarm, and the sour cream could have been more generous, so I choked the potato down rather dry. The hot chocolate I ordered was also just lukewarm, so I sent it back. The next one wasn't any better—again, just lukewarm! Seriously, at these prices, I expect better! The ambiance is cool, but overall, it didn't win me over. I'm not a fan of high tables, especially since the table was so close to the chair that it was almost impossible to get on! And you should at least have a basic understanding of what constitutes "hot"!

The beer was unfortunately warm and not filled to the fill line. A tip is mandatory when paying by card. I didn't want to leave nothing, but at least 10% seems excessive. We're not in the States, where service depends on tips.

Sinatra was at "The Ash" in Aachen yesterday, and I have to say, this wasn't your average work Christmas dinner. It was a culinary company outing straight into the Champions League. My steak? Cooked to perfection, as if the grill master had made a personal pact with the thermometer. The rosemary potatoes? Divine. Golden, crispy armor on the outside, soft as a love letter on the inside—the perfect accompaniment. The tiger prawns before it? So good you briefly wonder whether you should even bother eating more or just consider them the grand finale. And then that bread… warm, soft, slightly crunchy, the doughy equivalent of a George Clooney handshake. The service: incredibly friendly, attentive, but not in that overly attentive, "I'm hovering over your plate every minute" kind of way. Perfect balance, like a good Espresso Martini on a Friday at 10:30 p.m. The ribs? Buttery soft, falling off the bone like lame excuses in a performance review. And the New York cheesecake to finish… a small, creamy dream that makes you believe, for a moment, that you're the star of your own food movie. The only exception: my colleague's cranberry gin. It certainly wasn't cocktail of the month. It tasted like someone had mixed up December and summer vacation in a glass. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but honestly: every euro here is worth it. Totally worth it. Verdict: 5 out of 5 stars. Snack Sinatra approved.

They don't have a good delivery schedule. If you're unlucky, you won't get the dish you ordered. In my case, three of the dishes I'd chosen weren't available on the important day, Chinese New Year. So I went for the expensive combo meal. Unfortunately, it didn't taste any better than something I'd cooked at home, which is disappointing considering it cost €75, if I remember correctly. Spare ribs are easy to prepare, though, and those were at least good.

Delicious steak. The vegetarian dishes are also very tasty; the salmon bowl is highly recommended.

The food was generally tasty, but nothing extraordinary. The service was very friendly during our visits, but I don't need to see their entire hairy chest. The ambiance is quite nice. All in all, though, it's unfortunately too expensive for the quality, in my opinion.

Unfortunately, a huge disappointment. The restaurant was completely packed, which made the atmosphere very unpleasant. My steak arrived cold and tasteless. After I pointed this out to the waiter, I was brought a new steak, but it was also cold and just as tasteless. In addition, the waiters were very pushy; it felt like they were trying to make room for me quickly. For that price, I definitely expect something different. I'm sorry, but that was my last visit.

Steak was great, quickly delivered to the table, tasty and cooked right. Mash potato was a little dry though. Server was really on it, quick with empty drinks and friendly.

We usually enjoy eating at Ash, even though the food never really lived up to the price. However, last Sunday's meal prompted me to write my first review. My sense of decency prevents me from making a fuss in person, but our visit is now worth a complaint that other customers should read. Not only were my father-in-law's and my burgers mixed up (it happens), but the two cheeseburgers we ordered were practically nothing but sauce. A look at the meat revealed why: all the burgers had the consistency of a shoe sole. This was less noticeable under the sauce and between the jalapeños than it was with the children's burger we also ordered. On top of that, all the fries were lukewarm. We were extremely disappointed. My email went unanswered. Three days later, four out of five guests are now in bed with stomach problems… it might be a coincidence, but given the quality of the meat and sauce, I wouldn't be surprised if it were the cause.

The ambiance is lovely and relaxing. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as expected. My rib-eye wasn't cooked to my desired doneness and was slightly burnt in places, giving it a slightly bitter taste. Bread and olives were offered at the beginning, but these later appeared on the bill. I don't consider this good service. Since some restaurants offer such items as a complimentary treat, it wasn't clear to us that we would have to pay for them. I find the prices far too high for the quality offered.

The unique ambiance is immediately apparent upon entering: modern, inviting, and with a touch of urban chic. The open kitchen is particularly cool, allowing you to watch the chefs at work – it creates a vibrant atmosphere and makes a real impression. The service was attentive and friendly; the waiters kept a watchful eye on everything, even when the restaurant was busy. I felt well taken care of throughout. The food was absolutely superb. The steaks were cooked to perfection – juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The side dishes were also well-balanced and high-quality. While the prices are a bit higher, they are entirely justified by the quality and the overall experience. All in all, it was a very successful evening. The ASH impresses with its fantastic food, stunning ambiance, and professional service. I was completely satisfied – and will definitely be back!

The prices on the lunch menu are really reasonable. Under €20 for a beef steak, fries, and a drink. The steak was delicious, cooked to perfection, and the portion was generous enough to satisfy my hunger. Not for a huge appetite, but plenty for lunch.

I am traveling for work from US. Stopped in here couple times now while in the area and everything has always been great. Most everyone here also speaks English which helps a lot. Super nice staff, great food, good drinks.

The cheeseburger was very tasty and the right size for a moderate appetite. The crispy sweet potato fries were amazing. The dessert, a nougat brownie, was simply delicious, not too sweet.

The burgers, fries, and sauces...all very tasty. Service was quick and friendly! Thank you 👍 However, a major drawback was the seating (table for six at the window). The seats are so worn out that you're sitting on the metal frame, and the leather is torn in several places. Since we couldn't find a coat rack, we took our jackets with us to our table. On our way home, my husband's leather jacket tore on the side, probably because a hook or nail was sticking out of the seat without us noticing.

I specified my wedding anniversary, but they absolutely ignored it. No congratulations, no decorations, or anything else!!! I wonder what they were asking for. The food was very good. Service was nice and friendly. We were celebrating an anniversary that day and had reserved a table. When making the reservation, we were asked if there was a special reason for that day (we stated anniversary). Unfortunately, this was completely ignored. You're used to the fact that at other restaurants, a table is beautifully prepared (decorated), or you receive a greeting from the kitchen or a surprise.

Great place for brunch (on Sundays) or lunch. Prime quality food and attentive staff. The restaurant is not only well decorated but also spotless. Strongly recommended!!

Hello everyone, Yesterday for my birthday, I went to THE ASH AACHEN with my family. It was super, super nice, and the waiter, Dominiko (Italian), was super friendly, so I might go there more often.

I ordered spare ribs with coleslaw salad. The ribs were well prepared and fell off the bone easily, but... the meat was completely unseasoned and the BBQ sauce was way too sweet for my taste. The coleslaw salad was very tasty, but I'm very disappointed, as it wasn't exactly a cheap meal. 3 out of 5 points The fact that you're not asked whether you want a small or large drink when ordering drinks, and then you get the large one... well, that's why 4 out of 5 points The atmosphere is great 5 out of 5 points I give it 4 out of 5 points despite everything

We had a reservation for 4 on a Saturday. We were politely and kindly shown to our seats. We were given a low table at our request. The service was friendly and prompt. The portions were high quality and generous. The only downside was the acoustics, which felt a bit industrial.

I find it outrageous that when you pay by card, a screen immediately pops up with a tip percentage. It's uncomfortable and makes you feel pressured! I think it goes up to 25 percent. They definitely get 10 percent. They're not right in the head. For that reason alone, I won't give anything next time. Besides, I never find the waiters particularly pleasant. They don't understand their job. As a waiter, you tend to be reserved.

We thought it was fantastic all around. Great food of good quality. Service was cheerful and fast. The atmosphere was wonderful. Everything was spotlessly clean.

My piece of meat tasted and was cooked to my desired degree of doneness. What's absolutely unacceptable: I had ordered tuna beforehand. After eating it, I left my fork on the empty plate. The server took the used fork from my empty plate and placed it back on my napkin next to the unused knife. With a bill of almost €100 for one person, I expect a lot more! My additional pepper sauce was also a total failure. Honestly: I won't be going back.

We often come to The Ash as a family and always have a great time: pleasant atmosphere, attentive service, and excellent burgers. However, a few things could be improved: the fries are too small—for three children aged 9, 11, and 12, we have to order two extra portions every time we visit. Furthermore, the apple spritzer is clearly far too expensive at almost €5. It's also a shame that the pulled beef burger is no longer on the menu. I tried to submit this feedback via their website, but unfortunately, my email went unanswered.

Ordered two rump steaks. One was quite red, the other was cooked perfectly. The wait was over an hour. At the end of our large group, two cheeseburgers were still left unfinished. The last person had to pay for them, even though they didn't get them. Never again!

Reserved, arrived on time, table not yet free. Had to wait 10 minutes at the bar, where other people were already sitting. Immediately left. I'm not going to wait like a schoolboy for a burger with a reservation. Too bad.

It was amazing experience to have a dinner here with friends! Kitchen works till 23-00, also they serves drinks till about 23-15. Service and meal were just perfect! Also they have heater on the terrace 🤩. And it was a lot of free places for free parking.

I went here again to eat and unfortunately I have to deduct a point from my last review. Side dish changed and still served incorrectly and twice. After the 3rd attempt it worked but the food was almost cold. Was there for the third time yesterday and I have to say that everything was fine so far, the food was very good, no complaints, the service, yes, that's a thing, certainly when you're served by different people. There are good and nice people, but there are also people who you think are just "processing"

The location has a very cool decor. The service is also attentive and very friendly. The food, rump steak and rib-eye, were tasty. Unfortunately, the rib-eye was very thin and lacked a brown finish, so I'm giving it 4 stars.

The brunch was quite good, but there was room for improvement. The food on the menu is fantastic: super tasty burgers (even without buns), amazing grilled salmon, flavorful baked potatoes, and lovely desserts. The atmosphere is wonderful, totally modern and tastefully furnished with high-quality materials. The fantastic bar is a real eye-catcher. One of the few places that still makes proper cocktails, with real cream (depending on the type, of course). All in all, a fantastic place.

The starter platter for 2 was very tasty and the burgers were also very tasty.

Went for brunch. The atmosphere was more factory-style, not very cozy, and rather loud when there are lots of groups. But the staff were very friendly and helpful. The ribs were super tender and delicious, the white cabbage salad was delicious, as was the smoked salmon. It was really okay for an American brunch. However, I would have preferred cheesecake or lava cakes for dessert. For the price of €29.90 including filter coffee, it's definitely recommended, and we'll be back.

Had a lot of tendons and fat on the steak

We love to come here when we have things to do in Aachen. Food is awesome and I even asked for ice coffee, even though it’s not in the menu.

It fit the bill for a lunch with colleagues. Super close to the Confex venue. Had to try the ‘on the bone’ beef rib burger. The meat was cooked to perfection but it had been left a little too long before serving. Same goes for the sweet potato fries. Ambience was good, art work is a little weird for my taste, mine would sit better on the walls but overall would recommend if you’re in the area looking for grilled meat. (There are also some options for vegans too)

Food is great but one have little chance to remove or change the side dish - one has to order extra what he will prefer. So, we did that, paid for the extra side dish and we didn't eat the standard side (which was not conform with our taste). In the end the waiter started to complain that we are wasting the food and got upset because we tried to explain the reason.

Long wait, and dry food! Inedible! The person next to us ordered a steak that the people couldn't even cut properly because it was so hard. Friends of the sun, if you want a good evening, head to Pontstrasse.

Generally speaking, not a bad place; the food is okay, the ambiance is okay, and the staff are quite friendly. Unfortunately, the menu is very confusing in some places. The menu is meant to emphasize the American, modern style, and therefore a lot of it is in English. This might not be a problem for many, as it's familiar from other restaurants, but they do have a description of the items in German. I had a burger. It was rather mediocre. The meat was delicious, as was the rest, but not particularly good. The price is quite high for the rather mediocre taste. €18 for a burger with a meal. Drinks cost almost €5 in a 0.3. They definitely need to do something about that. Overall, I personally wouldn't come back here, as I get better quality and more filling for my money at many places. Best regards

I came here for dinner multiple times for the last 5 years, they had tacos for a while and I miss them, the steak is good, tuna steak, salads are great service usually good it only happened once that was a long hair on top of/in my drink but I didn’t say anything about it because we were done eating already and was crowded . Overall I recommend.

We've enjoyed coming here for lunch for years. However, this is no longer available, meaning attractive pricing is no longer available. Furthermore, several sides (e.g., mushrooms, curly fries) have been removed from the menu. My eight colleagues and I are very disappointed and will now avoid "The Ash."

After waiting 20 minutes, we weren't even asked for drinks, even though the restaurant was completely empty. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing – so we left.

Last time we ate here. Bad service. Truffle mayonnaise was on the bill, even though we didn't get it. We were automatically given a large, stale, still Coke for €5.50 without being asked if we wanted a small or large. We ordered the meat medium, but it was completely raw. The hamburger patty was also undercooked this time. We had to ask for the change; the waitress just assumed it was all a tip. Then we asked for wet wipes, to which she asked, "Two?" even though there were four of us. One employee wore short summer clothes, which were completely inappropriate and unprofessional for the restaurant industry. 👎🏼

We've been to THE ASH several times over the years. The ambiance (summer terrace) puts you in a vacation mood. Reservations are recommended. Service was prompt and friendly, and requests were taken into account. The food came quickly and tasted good. Points deducted for the difficult-to-read menu. You should ask the server directly for an explanation. It's unclear what's included in the burger and steak menu and what's an extra charge. There are also no children's dishes, although they were surprisingly affordable. We'll be back.

The ambiance is very pleasant and peaceful! The food we tried was extremely delicious. I can definitely recommend the bread with herb butter as a starter. The steaks are of good quality and grilled to perfection. Best of all, the service is great; the staff strives to give guests a great experience, and they certainly deliver. Definitely recommended. Given the very low occupancy, a different table would have been nicer. Sitting in the corner with a view of the wall made us a little uncomfortable after an hour of waiting for our food. Service came to the table four times during the entire time we were there (1 3/4 hours)...that's acceptable...The food was absolutely delicious.

The food was truly outstanding – top-notch in taste and arrived delightfully quickly. Unfortunately, the entire visit was ruined by the waiter who served us. I have rarely experienced such unfriendly and disrespectful behavior. From the very beginning, he treated us with an annoyed, condescending look, as if we were a burden. Not a smile, not a polite word – just coldness and dismissiveness. When it came time to pay, he simply slammed the card reader down on the table without a word and then walked off as if he'd had enough of us. That's completely unacceptable! Anyone who treats guests like that should perhaps reconsider whether they're even in the right place in the service industry. It's a shame, because the kitchen definitely deserved better staff.

Delicious spare ribs eaten in a surprising environment

Steak with no sense of doneness. Two steaks were ordered, both of which corresponded to a longer cooking setting. One of them was supposed to be medium, but was cooked all the way through! This is unacceptable for a steakhouse. Anyway, we complained and were supposed to get a new one. During the 25-minute wait, our waiter, Domenico, came to the table and said he'd noticed right away and wanted to see our reaction! A total no-go! He then promised the person in question that they could choose a drink while they waited. Nice trick! The drink was charged in full. When the steak finally arrived, it wasn't medium, but medium-rare - just like the flag said. We made do with that since the person in question was now eating alone. Of course, the sauce we had chosen and paid for with the steak was also missing. Long story short - we've often heard bad things from friends and family, and now we experienced it ourselves. Now you only see us at the competition!

The steak is still good, as is the service, but it's now overpriced. €4.40 for a 0.2 l Kölsch beer...

The service staff, especially an unshaven German waiter and a very thin, heavily made-up waitress, were so disgustingly rude, disinterested, negative, and arrogant. Perhaps they confused the fact that they worked in a chain restaurant and not in the DFC in Dubai, or had other problems, but this was absolutely terrible. The food is completely overpriced, and the value for money is not at all good. The hamburgers are sloppy, and the entire meal is completely covered in onions, so no different from a normal chip shop, even though the idea is actually good.

Sticky tables, dirty seat cushions with numerous stains. We waited 1.5 hours for the food: ribs, a bowl, and chicken. Poor quality and cold! Plus, 9.50 for a non-alcoholic Hugo! Not recommended for that price!

There were four of us at ASH, and they kindly accommodated us by opening the gallery for us, so we were the only guests upstairs. From the drinks (Lillet and Aperol), to the appetizer (beef carpaccio, burrata), to the main course (main salad and filet), the food was okay, but the service was truly the best. The venue downstairs was too loud for us, but they opened the gallery for us instead 😇

In my opinion, The ASH in Aachen is one of the chain's better restaurants. I've had the pleasure of visiting several The ASH locations in the Cologne area. While the visits there were also pleasant, they weren't as impressive as here in Aachen. The staff seems more attentive and much more welcoming to guests. My only criticism: The food is sometimes served with a noticeable delay – waits of up to 40 minutes or more are not uncommon. Drinks can also take a while to arrive. Nevertheless, both the quality of the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant are impressive. Of course, you'll have to dig a little deeper into your pockets for the price – but anyone who visits The ASH usually knows that in advance. The parking lot, which The ASH shares with L'Osteria, is unfortunately quite small. Finding a free space is often difficult. Although there is a newly built parking garage right next door, it's still unclear whether it's free to use. There is no signage for this – however, this is not the responsibility of The ASH and only partially influences the restaurant's rating. Conclusion: I highly recommend the location overall – especially if you want to spend a special evening with friends, family, or colleagues.
