Thai Kim in Oberstdorf

We ate at Thai Kim after hiking because I had been there before another year and really liked it. Unfortunately, this time was really disappointing in comparison. + Service is nice. + Ambiance is as you would expect, not fancy, but completely sufficient and in summer you can sit outside. + There isn't a lot of food, but it's quite tasty if you get what you wanted. - Unnecessarily complicated lunch order. The dishes all had no sauces specified and there was a list of the sauces below. So I thought I'd pick a dish and then choose a sauce to go with it. But that didn't work in the order, it was explained to me. After minutes of understanding problems, the service person assured me that my request to add red Thai curry sauce to a dish where he only wanted to make another sauce was possible. In the end I got the dish with the originally intended brown sauce and an extra bowl with a kind of red curry sauce, which wasn't even based on coconut milk, but made with cream. Should I pour this sauce over the other sauce? - Thai curry without coconut milk and cow cream is not possible. Based on the other reviews you might see this as a bad day, but for us it was disappointing as we came hungry and with great anticipation.

Price performance is right. Food was very tasty. Reservation by phone is easy. The service was very nice and accommodating. The ambience is a bit lacking, but it doesn't detract from the good food. Definitely thumbs up.

The food and service are great, the dining room is a bit sober. But because of the delicious food we would come back if we are in Oberstdorf.

There's actually someone arguing about not enough Thai. In the end he only likes German spicy and not Thai. I read Asia. From a Vietnamese Thai Kim. Miserabel. Gemüsebeiladen bestehen ausschließlich aus Zwiebeln, Fleisch ertränkt in salziger Sauce, Fleisch war zäh wie Leder. Das schlechteste Asiarestaurant in Oberstdorf.

A week in Oberstdorf and twice with Thai Kim. I was very happy about the house specialties, Bun Cha or Bun Bo Nam Bo, original Vietnamese preparation, simply great. Everything else looked very tasty too. The beer is nice and cold. The service was on point and friendly. The terrace is surprisingly cozy. We'd love to come back.

It's a mere mediocre Thai restaurant. The place does not look comfortable at all. The owner runs the place. Which could have been a good thing but it's not. His service manner, the language are like the food served. Below mediocre. Also not kid friendly.

Desperately looking for dinner as everything else was full from ski flying, we got a super quick and delicious meal here. Everyone enjoyed it and the price-performance ratio was great! 👍🏼

Food tastes good, service is very friendly, prices too high for me. You have to know that Oberstdorf is a foreign place and that the prices are different to those in Kempten.

We only went there for a bite to eat. Service is hectic because there are too few staff. Kitchen occupied by only one person. The work there involves stress and smoke. Used dishes pile up in the sinks. The ambience is nice but it is an improvised snack kitchen. I won't eat there again.

Schnitzel, beer and hearty brass music is exactly what I expect from a restaurant in Oberstdorf, and in addition, because it's an Asian, a submissive, robot-like serving concept and the polite question: "Are you Chinese?" as a funny greeting.

Super leckeres und frisches Essen, wir hatten verschiedene Gerichte (Herbstrolle Hand gemacht von Chefin, einmal Hühnchen in Currysoße , Ente mit Erdnusssoße, gebraten Nudeln) alles war mit frischem knackigem Gemüse. Wir kommen sehr bald wieder.

Von aussen sah das Restaurant gar nicht so einladend aus. Da der Kaisergarten geschlossen hatte, sind wir in diesem Restaurant im Garten "gelandet". Es war vom Essen her noch besser, als der Kaisergarten. Die Ehefrau des Besitzers hat selbst gekocht und es war einfach super.

Waren hier mit 6 Personen essen weil Plätze zu haben waren. Wir wurden sehr zuvorkommend empfangen und anhaltend freundlich bedient. So kam es uns trotz des nüchternen Ambientes im Erdgeschoss fast familiär vor. Für jeden war was dabei. Da wir Thai-Essen nicht kennen war manche Spezialität überraschend kalt. Die Bewertung entspringt dieser einmaligen Erfahrung, bei der unsere Erwartungen übertroffen wurden.

Wantans waren deutlich zu lange frittiert und trocken. Gebackenes Hühnchen hat geschmeckt, aber die Portionen etwas zu klein. Ärgerlich war, dass uns die falsche Bestellung mitgegeben wurde und wir dies erst beim Auspacken in der Fewo entdeckten. Also zurueck und umtauschen. Gab nur ein kleines "sorry" als Entschuldigung.

Die Ente hat Prima geschmeckt da gibt es nichts zu meckern. Personal sehr freundlich. Ambiente ging so.... Würde aber wieder kommen.

Hier gibt es sehr leckeres, aber auch scharfes Essen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Leider sitzt man hier nur nicht so schön. Hat eher was von einem besseren Imbiss. Aber in Summe sehr empfehlenswert.

Ich bin nach dem Abstieg von der Seealpe hier eingekehrt. Ich hatte einen gemütlichen Platz auf der Terasse. Wurde sehr schnell aufmerksam und freundlich bedient. Das Essen war köstlich und geschmackvoll. Ich habe mich für gebratene Ente süß sauer entschieden.

Essen super Service sehr freundlich

Wir waren vor zwei Jahren das erste Mal hier; aus der Not heraus, weil wir in keinem anderen Restaurant Platz fanden. Also fiel die Wahl auf das Thai Kim. Eine Notlösung, denn eigentlich wollten wir in Urlaub im Allgäu nicht wirklich thailändisch essen gehen. Aber es war eine sehr gute Entscheidung. 😊 Dieses Mal kamen wir ohne Not und sehr gerne. Freundliche Menschen, leckeres Essen, ein gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis. Deutlich besser als in den einen oder anderen urallgäuer Lokal am Ort.

Das Essen war leider nicht gut. Statt Erdnusssoße gabs Currysoße und darauf angesprochen, keine Antwort. Frühlingsrollen von gut und günstig aus der Packung. Einmal und nie wieder.

Wir waren an Pfingsten das Erste mal hier. Tolles Restaurant. Das Essen war sehr sehr gut und reichlich. Die Bedienung und der Chef sind sehr höflich und freundlich. Schöne und gemütliche Einrichtung. Sehr zu empfehlen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Tüte gebratene Nudeln 6 €. Lecker. Leider kein sambal oelek beim Straßenverkauf.

Nice place, great food. It has terrace with a beautiful view, it's comfortable and service is great.

Uns hat es gemundet, wenngleich kein echter Thai. Aber für chinesisches Essen M4 + M5 gut. Und.... Man kann draußen sitzen. Ein echter Pluspunkt.

Wir sind spontan in dieses unscheinbare Lokal gegangen, um dort zu Mittag zu essen. Vor zwei Jahren saßen wir im ruhigen Garten und waren mit dem Essen sehr zufrieden. Jetzt im Winter würde man die Innenräume als schlicht und einfach bezeichnen, aber die Mittagskarte ist sehr preiswert. Also wie schmeckt das Essen. Die Besitzerin kocht selbst und ihr Mann macht einen freundlichen Service. Ja, wir würden die Speisen jederzeit empfehlen. Die Pekingsuppe hat mir besser geschmeckt, als in vergleichbaren Restaurant. Die Soße zu den Minifrühlingsrollen war ausgesprochen lecker. Das panierte Hühnerfleisch war saftig und die gewählte Soße gut abgeschmeckt. Ente würde ich jederzeit wieder essen und auch hier war die gewählte Soße sehr gut. Im Sommer werden wir uns wieder in den Garten setzen, weil dort das Essen noch besser schmeckt.

Das Thai Kim an der Nebelhornstraße bietet asiatische Küche, falls man mal eine Alternative zur bayerisch geprägten Küche der meisten anderen Restaurants in Oberstdorf. Die Inneneinrichtung im UG hat Bistro-Charakter , Küche und Toilette befinden sich neben anderen Sitzplätzen im OG. Viele Kunden holen Essen ab. Der Service ist nett und entspannt. Das Essen ist gut und reichlich, daher mit gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert, was aber auf 18:30 Uhr nicht zwingend notwendig gewesen wäre, gg. 20:00 waren aber alle Plätze im UG besetzt.
