We were impressed by the restaurant. Great food, generous portions. Staff very friendly and attentive. We'll be back.

I had a bill for more than 25 euros, but I still couldn't pay by card. Card payments only accepted over 30 euros. This service is simply disgraceful for Germany. The store was packed, but the owners want to save on fees and continue to line their pockets. Thank you for your reply. You wrote "a smaller amount." Is an amount of more than 25 euros a smaller amount for you? It's amazing how big your calculations are. For example, here in Düsseldorf, I can pay for my rolls with a card for 90 cents in the morning. The bakery even wants that. It's a smaller amount. But Oberstdorf is simply too pretentious.

The food was absolutely average for German cuisine. Tasty, but you'd get better at too many restaurants. The service was exceptionally friendly and personable, but it was noticeable that there were too few servers for the number of guests, so everything took a very long time. The ambiance was very nice, and the live music created a good atmosphere.

An authentic Bavarian restaurant with good food and friendly service. The red cabbage is delicious. I also highly recommend the cabbage fritters. They also serve delicious beer. Due to the sheer volume of food, you might find some minor compromises here and there, but these are negligible.

The menu offers a wide selection of German specialties, including vegetarian options, which are clearly labeled. We ordered cheese spaetzle with garden salad and fried potatoes as a side dish. Considering it was an integral part of the meal, the salad was very well seasoned with a refreshing dressing. The cheese spaetzle were topped with fried onions and were incredibly delicious. The salad, fried potatoes, and spaetzle tasted fresh and of high quality. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for after a hike or just a quick bite to eat. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were friendly. I highly recommend it!

First of all, the staff was always friendly! It's not really my style to write negative reviews, but after sleeping on it for a night, you have to be annoyed... The situation: Two people ordered food, and one of the dishes was simply inedible. The meat was completely unpalatable; it was far too tough; it was supposed to be pork fillet medallions... The dish was returned almost entirely, and a second one was declined because the appetite had vanished. To compensate, the waitress brought a shot of schnapps on the house—just ONE. You'd think they'd take the dish off the bill, but that didn't happen. Everything was charged in full, even the side dish change... A bit more accommodating would have been appropriate for a dish that was returned almost entirely, and after the waitress said it was the trainee's fault. Well, unfortunately, based on my experience, I can't recommend anything. Thanks for the reply, but the situation turned out a little differently.

It's packed with great weather, but what they're doing – hats off. Top-notch organization...everyone's doing their bit. We had two fantastic evenings in the wild Männle with a variety of delicious food. Keep up the good work!

Beautiful inn with a rustic atmosphere! The service was very good, the head waiter extremely friendly and humorous! The lumberjack steak was very good, and the side salad with a delicious dressing! Only the coffee could be improved. All in all, a very nice experience! I'd be happy to go again.

A typical Bavarian restaurant. Delicious, sometimes hearty food, and plenty of beer. The service, as everywhere, is person-dependent, but always very good. And sometimes, it's simply brilliant. Reservations on weekends are recommended, otherwise it gets crowded...😉

We were denied the table we had reserved because we only wanted to eat as a couple. A couple arrived after us and were given the table for four. The staff was very rude. We found the food mediocre. The waiter caught me with dirty cutlery while clearing the table next to us. I can't recommend this restaurant if you want to feel comfortable.

You can sit comfortably here in the middle of Oberstdorf. The service was friendly and good. Unfortunately the food wasn't tasty and was cold. We won't come to dinner anymore.

A lovely, quaint restaurant, and thankfully not a pizza-doner-pasta joint. Quaint decor, delicious food, and friendly service. We were there when it wasn't that busy, though. When the place is really busy, the staff are certainly more nervous and the acoustics are worse. Definitely worth a visit, even with children.

A very nice restaurant in Oberstdorf, with a feel-good atmosphere. Lovely ambiance and great food. The staff is attentive. I had the gourmet pan and could barely finish it.

A delicious pork knuckle, a liter of Allgäu beer, a great apricot schnapps, Friendly service, what more could you want? And the host is also a Schalke fan, wonderful!

You stand at the reception desk while the staff enjoy themselves while they chat, and whether you're standing there or not seems to matter to the staff. They didn't even bother to seat the guests. Unfortunately, I can't rate the food because we didn't get any. Disastrous service. We sat outside and there was no waiter anywhere. At some point, you just couldn't stand waiting any longer. After all, there are other great places to eat. With that in mind, keep up the good work.

A very nice restaurant. The venison goulash from the daily special was very good. The staff was friendly, as expected. The prices are reasonable. What's completely unacceptable, however, is that they charge €2 for a side dish change. A self-respecting restaurateur who wants satisfied guests won't charge extra for a side dish change. Unfortunately, that loses points.

We've been to the Wilden Männlein many times and have always been very impressed. But today I had Scheuferle for lunch. It was a disgrace to offer such a thing to a guest, and no apology. I'm so sorry, but never again.

We also ate at the Wilden Männle almost every time we visited this vacation. The food was delicious. The entire service team is fantastic, very attentive and professional, friendly, and always with a funny saying. Just keep it up, it's perfect. We came here for dinner and have to say, the food is very good. You're greeted warmly at the entrance and shown to a free table. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is a great place to end the day.

Dish: Wilde Männle (Wild Chicken) breaded, with potato and cucumber salad. €13.90. We ordered fries instead of cucumber salad for a €1.50 surcharge. We were served three breaded chicken pieces, dripping with fat, carelessly placed on a plate with fries. Delicious is something else entirely. We told the waiter. We won't be back.

Very nice staff, good quality food. Often during the week with live music, the price/performance ratio is definitely justified. The oven-fresh roast pork and the ox cheeks are highly recommended, although this is not stated anywhere Card payment only from 30€!!!

The restaurant is nicely decorated and the staff is on the ball. But you have to know that it is heavily geared towards tourist processing and that affects the quality of the food. The Kas Spatzn were bland with a boring cheese mixture instead of flavorful mountain cheese. As already mentioned here, the Kaiserschmarren was really disappointing, it is more of a sweet, sticky cake than fluffy dough. The asparagus was very good - on point! The mushroom sauce with bread dumplings was also good. Other dishes were rather average. I found it sad that one of our 30-strong troupe was denied a glass of tap water. We really made enough money and also ordered other drinks, so they could have provided some tap water, as is common elsewhere in Germany. Another bummer was that a person was charged a €2 surcharge for changing the supplement to a much cheaper supplement. That just leaves a bad aftertaste, there's a bit of humanity missing and you can't shake the feeling that it's just about money. Luckily we didn't have to pay anything to breathe ;) Otherwise there was live music, anyone who likes to sway will have fun there. Another plus point is the speed: we didn't have to wait long for our food. Personally, I prefer to wait longer and then have something really good. All in all - quite OK but there are better alternatives.

The service was excellent! The room maybe a bit big and loud. Unfortunately, the Kässpatzen tasted very neutral. The cheese was bland and the fried onions were dark but somehow soggy. There was much better in Oberstdorf. The Kaiserschmarrn was also very disappointing. Apparently people produce it in large quantities and then break it into small pieces. The results are small, dense lumps from a loaf pan(?) that completely lack any fluffiness.

We stumbled across this restaurant after a walk in Breitachklamm. The first impression is a beautiful garden, very crowded due to live music, nice staff who immediately reserved seats for us. The typical Allgäu dishes are delicious and served quite quickly. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Haxe was already old. I could barely chew the meat in some places. The crust looked good, but was difficult to cut.

We stayed at the Wilden Männle in Oberstdorf and absolutely loved it! The Allgäuer Käsespätzle were super tasty – exactly how you want them: hearty, cheesy and simply delicious. Plus a fresh light beer – perfect! The ambience is rustic and cozy, with great live music that creates a really atmospheric atmosphere. The service was also consistently friendly and attentive. We felt completely at home and can only warmly recommend the Wilde Männle. A real insider tip in Oberstdorf!

Super friendly staff on every corner. Initially we were warmly invited to the bar to have a drink and wait for a free table. After 5 minutes there was already one free during peak time and we sat inside. On Mondays and Wednesdays with our own house music, it was a really great, wonderful Bavarian atmosphere and we had a lot of fun. The menu is very tasty, including some vegetarian dishes. We will come back next time we visit the great Oberstdorf.

Always a good address. A bit hectic atmosphere, but understandable due to the high number of guests. Very popular with tourists, the food is usually really good. Service friendly, attentive and sometimes with its own entertainment value. All in all, always happy.

Beautiful restaurant with authentic and solid Allgäu cuisine. Service top notch! Almost everything tastes good here! Only the Kaiserschmarren was inedible. The dough unfortunately resembled a dry cake drowned in almond syrup and was unfortunately the worst we had in the Allgäu.

The terrace is a bit uncomfortable. More focused on mass rush.

We visited Wilde Männle and were absolutely thrilled with the food and the very attentive and fast service. We had the gourmet pan and a steak: both were great!! The fries are also simply a dream: well seasoned and crunchy. :) For dessert there was of course Kaiserschmarren and a Wilde Männle apricot snack. We will come back! See you next year. :P

Unfortunately, the waiter completely ignored us 3 times (!) and didn't even take any drinks within 30 minutes. There was only one other table occupied. We got up and moved on disappointed. It's a shame ☹️

The wild man keeps his promises. The selection of food is large, the service is quick and friendly. The knuckle that was eaten was a dream. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. We were able to sit down in the beer garden with our four-legged friend without any problems. And we were spoiled by the weather and the cuisine. If you like something hearty, you'll find it here. If you are attracted by the good Allgäu cuisine, you should not miss the wild little man.

I was there many years ago, had Wiener Schnitzel and was thrilled. This time, however, it wasn't good. No comparison to before. The Kaiserschmarrn my companion ordered was also bad. Was completely returned, but didn't have to be paid for. It's a shame, but maybe we just had a bad day. But our service was very friendly.

All in all, an OKAY stay with quite good food, but unfortunately nothing more. My companion and I were generally greeted very nicely, we asked for a table and were allowed to move around again. We had prompt service, which we were able to put off for a bit, the drinks came quickly, as we all know, the Allgäu Büble beer is now part of a large brewery, you would wish for something more local. For dinner we ordered the Allgäu onion roast with cheese spaetzle (medium) €29.90, and half a pork knuckle €18.50 with an additional side salad. The food came after about 10-15 minutes. The meat was just medium rare, closer to well done and yet quite firm, with hardly any salt or pepper. The bite of the spaetzle was okay, but unfortunately it was no longer “schlonzig” at the table. Unfortunately the cheese was VERY convenience, probably a mixture of Gouda and Emmental, definitely not mountain cheese, but at least not cream. Fried onions and sauce were okay. My companion's pork knuckle was okay, crispy. The dumplings seemed to be too sour just before the tipping point, perhaps they had been left uncooked in the kitchen for a little too long on the rather warm spring day. At the same time, a 2-man band played everything from “Marina” to classic folk 3/4 time. All in all, “OK”, but really not worth repeating given the relatively high price.

I've heard it's a must when visiting Oberstdorf. Attentive staff, cheap lunch. Food tastes very good. Often with live music in the evenings. A bit like the station hall, it echoes and is loud, there are more comfortable food restaurants in Oberstdorf. But the taste of the food is great.

An utimate traditional Algäuan place, with some amazing foods and beer. The service was good, the ambience is warm and cozy. Definately a must go place. I had this dish posted in the the picture below..it was amazing.."Schnitzel Cordon bleu"

The schnitzel with the fries was delicious. The service was taciturn and less on the ball. After we first looked at the menu and didn't want to order straight away, we had to wait a long time. Likewise when we wanted to pay the bill.

Disappointing! The schnitzel was not good at all, the meat was not of quality and the breading was poorly obtained and the fries were very salty, you couldn't eat them! We didn't like the very dry knuckle either. The atmosphere in general was good, but the service was very fair, they didn't even bother to bring the bill, they only gave us a global price without detailing the dishes, without a printed receipt or proof of payment. Very low price/quality ratio: High price for low quality. I wouldn't recommend it!!

Been coming here for many years. Despite the change of ownership a few years ago, still highly recommended. Food top (quality, taste, price) - also a great children's menu! Always very friendly staff 😀 The interior is very cluttered, every space is actually used. Reservation recommended!

Ate goulash soup and Kaiserschmarn for lunch. Service good, soup great. Kaiserschmarn was ok but could have been a little fluffier. But it's a matter of taste.

You have to eat there. If you are on vacation and want to eat something from down there, you should pay a visit there. The daily specials are worth it. Whole and half knuckle on offer. I can only recommend this. A whole knuckle is enough for almost two people.

All dishes were very tasty and prepared quickly. The service staff is very friendly and on the ball. The price-performance ratio is not cheap, but due to the good quality of the food it is absolutely reasonable We can absolutely recommend the restaurant and would go there again in a heartbeat. That's why we give it 5 stars
