We ate here once. We didn't make a reservation, but we received a really friendly welcome and luckily we still got a table. Depending on the season, I would definitely make a reservation in advance. The waiters are all on the ball and super attentive. Our little one was provided with a high chair, crayons, coloring pages, and a lollipop. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. 🙂 It's typically Bavarian, quite loud and fast-paced. Just like a typical Bavarian restaurant. We absolutely recommend it and also give it 5 stars to the superbly organized team. It's immediately noticeable. 💪 We'd love to come back!

There are many restaurants in Oberstdorf that offer excellent food, but "Zum wilde Männle" takes everything to the next level. Great ambiance, friendly staff, and excellent food.

There are only four parking spaces at the restaurant. You have to be lucky. Otherwise, the only options are further away.

We came here for lunch. The restaurant was busy, but the service was prompt, very friendly, and attentive. The goulash with dumplings was very good, but unfortunately, the schnitzel couldn't hold its own. It was dry and greasy and streaked with gristle. A shame. Since we knew we wouldn't be going there again, as our vacation was over, we didn't complain.

We visited Wilde Männle on a recommendation and were thoroughly satisfied with our visit. The food was so delicious that we went back the next day.

In my opinion, the (half) knuckle of pork was the best I've had in a long time. What we consider absolutely unfriendly to customers (we don't want to rip them off) is that if you want a small change to a dish, you have to pay an additional €2. Here in the Palatinate, the customer is king, and every request is fulfilled without question.

Not for us, too touristy, the Kaiserschmarren wasn't our taste, and when the waitress constantly says "Thank you, thank you very much" for every little thing at the table, it's really annoying...if you like it...it's always busy, we live here and don't need it...

We were disappointed with our visit. The food arrived too quickly (5 minutes), compared to a fast-food restaurant that takes longer. A leisurely meal on vacation is something else entirely. The taste and quality were okay. There could have been a bit more (and this is Bavaria 😉). Because everything went so quickly, we also ordered a Kaiserschmarren (so we didn't have to leave after half an hour), which we should have skipped. It's like a warmed-up sponge cake with a little butter, flaked almonds, and powdered sugar. I can do better myself. The staff can only be stressed out by the amount of time they spend serving guests and, unfortunately, only fake their friendliness. The dishes and the staff lack warmth.

Great food! The Sauerbraten was a delight, as was the roast pork! The waitress was super friendly, even though it was very busy. The prices are reasonable and not too expensive. As mentioned, it was very busy, but the food came very quickly. I just wish it were closer to home!

The food is very good, I would definitely recommend it again. We recommend reserving a table online. The ambiance inside and outside is fine, but the noise level is extremely loud. Outside in the beer garden, you'll be assigned a table, so you might end up sitting by the passage where all the guests pass by. The tables are okay, but they're designed for a large number of people. It's not cozy here. You can eat anytime, but the noise level was quite disturbing...

The queue for a table is incredibly long during the season - be sure to reserve a table online in advance. The drinks and food arrive in real time. The staff are incredibly fast and always friendly and attentive. You'll have finished your meal in 30-45 minutes and go home well-fed ;-) We vacation in Oberstdorf at least once a year and easily go to the Männle 7-10 times during a 14-day vacation!!!!! You really are the best - keep it up!!!!!!

It was okay, but not what you'd imagine good Allgäu cuisine to be. For my taste, you still have to learn how to make Cordon Bleu. Pan-fried is the real thing, not deep-fried. Kaiserschmarrn, I'd say, isn't freshly made. It tastes like it came out of a packet. Service was okay, but it was very focused on sales. Yes, it's okay overall, but it could be better.

My husband spontaneously invited me to dinner here today because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, we don't have any good news to report. First, we sat there unattended for about 20 minutes, even though the waiter looked at us several times. When several people who arrived after us already had drinks on their tables, we got up and immediately approached them to draw their attention. We each ordered schnitzel and a salad. The food arrived quickly. However, they had simply forgotten the salad, which we received after asking for some time, but then you don't really need the side salad. Then a large, obviously long-dead fly appeared in the chanterelle mushroom sauce. That was about enough to fill us up. The icing on the cake was another waiter who bumped into my husband at the urinal and then walked out without washing his hands. "Our" waiter did offer to bring us more food, but let's be honest, after that experience, who wants more from the large pot of sauce that was surely prepared. When we left half the plates unfinished, he came back and, slightly annoyed, asked why we hadn't finished eating. Finally, he offered to bring us more of the "contaminated" food. The offer of a free shot of liquor with payment as "compensation" was truly embarrassing, and we declined. We paid over €56 for this service, but of course, we were still charged for the meal. Bottom line: never again.

One of the best places for typical Bavarian food in Oberstdorf. People typically come for dinner but you can also have Bavarian breakfast here. Try their specialties: the Krautkrapfen and Kaisersmarrn. This place is top in my recommended list for dining in Oberstdorf. They are often fully booked - so table reservation is recommended.

The food was delicious, but definitely just reheated (spätzle). Our veal schnitzel was okay, and the potato salad was delicious. The drinks were okay. The service and ambiance were pleasant. Our conclusion: recommended as a "tourist restaurant" ;)

Simply fantastic. We ate there today and had the lumberjack steak and the knuckle of pork. The drinks arrived super quickly, and the knuckle of pork was absolutely amazing. If you want to be truly full and eat super juicy meat and crispy rind, this is the place to go. The staff were simply fantastic; they immediately welcomed the children and even brought them things to paint. Unfortunately, you can't make reservations outside, but that's understandable given how busy it is. It's best to arrive shortly before 6 p.m., then you should still be able to get a table. We'll definitely enjoy it there again on our next vacation.

A lovely restaurant in downtown Oberstdorf. The interior is nostalgic and traditionally furnished. The exterior offers a large, unobstructed view of the shopping street. The staff is very friendly and quick. Prices, however, are averagely high to high.

First of all: It was my first time there. I would go again. Service was very attentive – but also very eager to sell. The food (roast pork and Kaiserschmarrn) was very tasty. Unfortunately, for the price, the portions were a bit "wrong" for my taste. The roast pork was a really large piece, nothing to complain about. But it only came with a single dumpling... No other side dishes, no cabbage, no bread, no salad... It all costs extra. I found that a bit weak. I mean, how much more does a dumpling cost? But as I said, all in all, it was very tasty, and I can recommend it 😉

I'm a sucker for wild men. With the music and the food, it's a treat for the palate and ears. I'd like to express my sincere gratitude and hope every vegan tries the butcher's platter. The meat is the best I've ever had. I'll be back.

We had baked potatoes with quark and salad. I estimate the product cost to be less than €1.50. The salad was dry, I had to order more dressing. One potato was OK, but the herb quark wasn't enough. Considering that 500g of quark costs barely more than €1, a little more quark wouldn't have made much of a difference.

Excellent dinner with generous portions and very friendly waiters. Prices were reasonable, and the background music was good. My three stars are due to the fact that I stopped by the day before to reserve a table and, perhaps because I'm Italian, they told me it was fully booked. Then, strangely, when I left the restaurant, I found a table with the reservation made through Google. We chose this restaurant anyway because I'd already tried it last year and knew the food was good, and since I was bringing friends, I was playing it safe, but if they treat their customers like this, I think it'll be the last time.

The goulash soup has nothing to do with the soup.. there is NOTHING else in the liver dumpling soup except 1 liver dumpling. We wanted to pay by card, the bill was 25 euros instead of 30 euros. We asked the waiter several times to let us pay by card because it was raining outside and we were in a hurry. He didn't let us.. he said let's order dessert and we can pay by card. I'm not willing to order dessert in a place like this and leave more money here for the food! I don't recommend it to anyone, it's a disaster.

Some of the food was good, some of it tasted bland. Unfortunately, the service was rude when they pointed out a mistake. There are better restaurants in Oberstdorf.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We spontaneously stopped by the "Zum wilden Männle" restaurant in Oberstdorf for lunch – and were completely delighted! There were three of us (including a child) and we ordered two roast pork dishes and a Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancake). The portions were generous, wonderfully seasoned, and simply delicious! Our waiter, Artur H., was extremely friendly and attentive – a true example of warm service. We especially appreciated that our dog was allowed to come along. There's a separate, but very cozy area for guests with four-legged friends – absolutely no disadvantage! Our request to pack the remaining Kaiserschmarrn was also fulfilled without any problems – simply fantastic. Everything is reasonably priced: roast pork €16.90, Kaiserschmarrn €14.90 – and the drinks are also perfectly reasonable. An all-round successful visit – this restaurant is definitely worth recommending! 👏

Card payments are only accepted for amounts over 30 euros. Completely incomprehensible and outdated. As a single diner, you rarely manage to do this. No card, no customer. I won't be back.
