Teuterhof Düren in Düren

During my previous visits, it has happened several times that too many drinks were added to our bill. After we raised the issue, the manager reacted very arrogantly and refused to acknowledge the waiters' mistake. Furthermore, the service is really poor. The waiters seem overwhelmed; sometimes the wrong food was brought, and in some cases we waited over 45 minutes for a drink order. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The price/performance ratio is also excessive.

Delicious food, nice outdoor dining right next to the park.

The food is good, the portions are large, the service in the beer garden is a bit slow but okay, and you can sit outside.

We returned after a long wait and were unfortunately somewhat disappointed. We were looking forward to the beer garden shortly after noon on Saturday. The waiters weren't allowed to push tables together for the seven of us. We were also told not to sit in the beer garden area, which was 1 meter away, because "the area is still closed." Apparently, this was an announcement from the manager. They seem to be putting unnecessary rules before service. The end result: we sat in the draft and shade next to the roller shutter door with chairs set aside because there was a table for seven there. Incidentally, some guests left because the gate from the park to the beer garden was closed. The food was good, even if the drinks came later. We won't be going back anytime soon, despite the limited selection in Düren.

We booked a table for June 28th very early, as we didn't know at the time that it would be a sunny day. When we arrived, we wanted to be seated inside the restaurant. When we asked if we could sit outside, we were asked to sit on wooden benches in direct sunlight and not in the shade where a few guests were already sitting. We asked if tables could be put together in the shade and were told that you would have to ask. We waited 15 minutes. Guests who were there on their own said they should just push the tables together. When we did this, we were loudly asked to leave the restaurant. It must be said that there were hardly any guests there. But apparently he doesn't want to make any money. No problem, we then decided on the spur of the moment to go to Kaschämm in Düren, where they put three tables together for us without hesitation and served us friendly. We had a very good meal and drink there. Later, when we were sitting partly in the sun, two parasols were pushed up to our table for us. Now that's service. We will go there again. The Teuterhof will never see us again.

We picked up food. Everyone was very nice on the phone and even though the kitchen was closed we were still able to order food. However, we ordered steak, which was a bit expensive, with fries. Both were only reasonably good for the price. We expected more because the meat didn't have enough flavor after our meal and was a bit dry. It was juicy but flavorful and the fries were also a bit lacking in seasoning. But still a good place!

The only beer garden in Düren with this flair, in the countryside and almost directly on the Rur.

There were 11 of us there. We sat outside in the far corner next to a pile of chairs, cardboard boxes, and an inactive grill, as well as overlooking aging shutters that covered a stage or something similar. It seemed very messy in that corner. To be fair, there are more inviting corners in this restaurant; it was just bad luck for us. Our bad luck continued with the meal. The appetizers were poorly timed. The last appetizers arrived at the same time as the main courses. Almost all of the food was very oily and, to me, tasted like ready-made supermarket meals. The waitress placed all the drinks on the same place at the table and left without a word. We were then left to distribute them ourselves. Looking at the other reviews, maybe everyone was just having a bad day, but I won't be coming back.

I'm currently eating the sauerbraten with dumplings and red cabbage! Absolutely top-notch. 😊

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend celebrating with company here. Various points simply bothered us a lot. After booking the appointment and discussing the buffet, there was suddenly no response to further questions by email. The announcement of the current number of people shortly before the festival was also no longer confirmed by email. The promised email about whether and when the room could be decorated the evening before was also not written. Then to the room (hall above): Unfortunately, it was pretty dirty. My mother and I then found a broom and did another thorough sweep ourselves and found some broken pieces (there were small children at the party). We announced this downstairs at the counter. The next day, the day of the celebration, the hall was still dirty with many stains on the floor. The window sills obviously haven't been cleaned for a while. Furthermore, there were too many tables and chairs in the room. The reduced number of people was therefore not taken into account. I let them know downstairs again, but no one came, so my mother and I cleared away the tables and chairs ourselves. No decorations were provided by the owner except for the tablecloth. If we hadn't decorated it nicely ourselves, the room would have seemed even more bland. Then to the celebration itself: a champagne reception was planned and written down. But what wasn't prepared: the champagne reception. We arrived last with the communion child, the guests had already arrived before us. Nobody was offered anything to drink. The only waiter stood around, uninvolved and unmotivated. When I pointed out the champagne reception, he then went downstairs to get everything. But nothing was offered for the many children. When asked, bottles of orange juice were simply put there. After the champagne reception nothing happened again. No drinks offered, nothing. Then my husband burst his collar and told us downstairs that more waiters should come to us immediately. 32 guests and only one waiter who always has to go down one floor, that doesn't fit. The children's chairs discussed were also not available. After the announcement things went better. The food came quickly and was also delicious. Dessert (mousse au chocolat and men's cream) unfortunately spoiled the impression. The mousse is much too hard, the men's cream is too liquid. Only one cake was allowed to be brought to communion; the rest must be ordered through Teuterhof. But this cake is a frozen cake, which wasn't clear to us (we suspect Coppenrath and Wiese). The cake was then delayed because it wasn't thawed in time. Unfortunately, when the time finally came, the cheesecake was still ice cold. The arrangements for the cake were not taken into account. Overall, we spent a lot of money there for our communion celebration, but we are still disappointed. You can probably recommend a visit to a restaurant there, but definitely not a larger celebration. Oh yes, there was no music there either. Thank God we had a Bluetooth box with us.

Super bad service. Ordered 5 drinks in the evening and only three came! Waiters don't pay attention to you. Ordered steak with fried potatoes. There was meatloaf in the fried potatoes! Didn't really care about the basement! You also had to ask for the bill more often. At least the calculation was correct and that was a positive thing about the evening.

We ordered a table for 8 people on Saturday and everything worked out wonderfully. The seating is rather rustic, a bit cramped, but still nice. The food was served to everyone at the same time, which I thought was extremely good. The taste is definitely recommended, large and generous portions. We were quite satisfied. Our grandson also felt very comfortable. In the outdoor area it is possible to look into the park and also go for a walk there later. Directly on the Ruhr and a playground provides variety for small children.

The music including the volume is a complete disgrace. I wonder whether the employees there are allowed to play their personal favorite music (here apparently German rap, sometimes vulgar slang) loudly throughout the restaurant? I expect something different from a sovereign restaurant.

Noch nie sofort schlecht gegessen, der angebliche rheinische Sauerbraten war total überzuckert, die Bedienung vom ersten Moment einfach nur genervt. Unsere Reservierung wurde vergessen somit saßen wir mitten in einer familienfeier. Der Kellner gingen raus zum rauchen mit Schürze .... und ich habe selber gesehen wie er dann wieder ins Restaurant ging ein Tablett mit Essen entgegen nahm und zum Tisch zum servieren ging,OHNE WENIGSTENS SICH VORHER MAL DIE RAUCHERFINGER ZU WASCHEN!! Die Krönung war dann der sogenannte Kaiserschmarrn aus der Tiefkühltruhe, matschig,Vanillesauce aus Wasser,einfach nur ungenießbar. Bei einem wurde der puderzucker vergessen worauf die genervt Kellnerin mit dem Streuer an den Tisch kam um ihn äußerst aggressiv auf den Teller zu streuen. Da waren wir nur noch sprachlos. Viele Jahre war das ein tolles Restaurant, jetzt sollte man einfach nur weg bleiben....

We went there two days in a row because we just liked the food so much - really tasty and prepared with love! The service was also excellent both times: friendly, attentive and warm. A small downer: On Saturday we saw a notice on the door that a parking disc was required in the car. When we asked the waiter we were told it wasn't necessary - so we trusted it. But I didn't really understand the meaning because there was a note with the information hanging at the entrance. Unfortunately, when we came back on Sunday and were standing in the same parking lot, we had a ticket for 20 euros on our car. That was of course annoying because we had relied on the statement. Nevertheless: The food and service were great, we would love to come back - but next time with a parking disc in the car!

Der Service ist unglaublich aufmerksam und dabei stets herzlich und freundlich – man spürt die Leidenschaft der Gastgeber in jedem Augenblick. Doch das absolute Highlight ist zweifelsohne das Rib-Eye-Steak. Ich wage zu behaupten: Es ist das beste weit und breit! Saftig, perfekt auf den Punkt gegrillt und von herausragender Qualität – ein wahrer Gaumenschmaus. Abgerundet wird das kulinarische Erlebnis durch die perfekte Hausmannskost. Hier wird Tradition großgeschrieben, und das schmeckt man. Die Gerichte sind ehrlich, bodenständig und einfach nur köstlich. Der Teuter Hof ist mehr als nur ein Restaurant – es ist ein Ort, an dem Gastfreundschaft gelebt wird und man sich wie zu Hause fühlt. Eine absolute Empfehlung für alle, die Wert auf exzellentes Essen und einen herausragenden Service legen! Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

The price is really good and the food tastes good too. The ambience is great, outside in the summer right in the park and on the Rur. Playground for children right next door. The ambience is really nice. Unfortunately, the service staff is actually a bit overwhelmed. Apparently they don't have a division into zones for responsibility and quicker processing. We always had to draw attention to ourselves so that we could finally get what we wanted. We had to tell 4 employees just our request to pay and then after half an hour we were finally able to pay. There is clearly room for improvement here in terms of service. But overall, really recommended for cheap and tasty food.

Try the rib eye and ribs! Absolute recommendation! Honest cuisine at a high level. I was particularly impressed by the rib eye steak - perfectly grilled and still juicy - just the way it should be! Another highlight were the spare ribs: crispy on the outside and a little spicy. The chili beans and garlic potatoes are a great combination - I've rarely had such good ribs! Conclusion: The Kaiserschmarrn: crispy on the outside because it has been tossed in sugar and butter and still fluffy on the inside. The prices are extremely fair and in addition to the top cuisine, there is also real hospitality from the entire team. We'll be back! Thanks!

We were in this restaurant today with 10 people including a 3 year old child. It started with the fact that the place didn't have anything for the children to paint. There were many other children there at that time. It continued with the waiters, and there were many of them, running back and forth, but not to our table. The hamburger buns served were hard as a rock. When ordering from the café later, the waiter stood at the front of the table and didn't ask the other family members at all. So I had to go to the counter at the front to get someone. After 15 minutes a waiter came and we ordered 2x vanilla ice cream without cream. What was brought: Ice cream with cream. At that time the restaurant wasn't very busy and there were a dozen waiters on duty, so that couldn't be the problem. I haven't experienced such bad service in a long time. But the best is yet to come: When we wanted to leave, the waiters talked about us. Impossible.

Hello team We were there today and were placed in the same room as a large company. In addition to our table, there were 4 other tables occupied around the company that had the same challenge as us. This arrangement was very unusual because the cellars and guests barely had space to pass each other and the noise from the company and the children playing was extremely loud, which made normal conversation impossible, so we left after dinner. Here you should consider whether you want to expect something like that from your guests. The food was okay, but the amount of salad has decreased dramatically in recent years while the price has increased at the same time. The staff seemed overworked and had a friendly tone. Vg

Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food, but the communication is abysmal. I enquired about a private party with 40 guests. I was quoted a fixed price over the phone, which was subsequently increased by 25% because of the "time of day", which was also known in advance. Requests and questions were answered in an annoyed manner. Contactlessness was also dreadful. "Call me" and after five unsuccessful attempts to call, on the sixth attempt I was referred to the boss, even though my request had already been made known. The boss tells us the price and then changes it via email in a very inappropriate tone.... It's a shame, I'd heard a lot of good things up to that point, but fixed income doesn't seem to be very important after all.

We dined here with a large group of 20 people. The food came quickly and, above all, almost at the same time for everyone, something that very few restaurants can manage. My fried potatoes with Leverkusen and egg were perfect, my husband's grill mix wasn't quite as hot but also delicious.

Dining with a “Bavarian touch” alongside classics such as salad, burgers and currywurst. In summer you can sit outside in the “beer garden” on the edge of the city park near the Rur. But also very comfortable inside. Small drawback for those with walking difficulties: the toilets are in the basement, the stairs are quite steep and there are also steps at the bottom. I have always found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating and generally “on their toes”. When things are busy, it can of course take a little longer for the order to arrive, but within acceptable limits. The boys can't do more than run ;-) Recommended!

The radio in the background was too loud for me and the Kaiserschmarrn wasn't tasty. I saw that differences were made in the orders at other tables.

Good cuisine, always friendly staff. Perfect location on the Rur. Ambience is bright and friendly, not luxurious. Parking spaces are available, but can be filled quickly depending on time. The highlight is the beer garden, which is often full in summer. Ideal for families.

Nevertheless, we enjoyed it. To pay we all had to go down one floor. The waiter was faced with the same problem... some drinks and dishes were no longer on his tablet list, and substitute dishes were then billed at the same price. Only the last 4 guests had a problem. Even though they didn't eat it, they had to pay the rest. Over 20.00 euros extra! It was no longer possible to understand who might not have paid for something! Not a pleasant experience!

Had dinner there yesterday. I had pork knuckle which was unfortunately only luke warm, the swath wasn't cross but very mushy. The fried potatoes were only lukewarm without any spices and I left the sauerkraut on the plate cold and unfortunately it didn't taste good either. Out of 15 people, 13 were disappointed with the food. The only positive was the service.

I just had a spontaneous meal there with my husband. Great, attentive service. The food was excellent, fresh, with homemade red cabbage and mashed potatoes. The goulash was tender and the sauce was to die for. For dessert, apple strudel with ice cream, cream and vanilla sauce. A poem. We say thank you very much and see you soon!!

How can a restaurant cook SO GOOD? So I'm at a loss for words again today. Sauerbraten with dumplings, red cabbage and applesauce... and then Kaiserschmarren deluxe with cranberries and vanilla sauce 💕 I would love to spend the night here and eat the same thing again tomorrow morning :) I've been here several times just for the sauerbraten and I'll definitely come back for exactly that!!

WOW - The tastiest sauerbraten since grandma!!! Plus dumplings cooked to perfection and just the right amount of sweet and savory apple red cabbage. And I can well imagine that the rest of the dishes will taste just as good! The ambience, on the other hand, is ok, could be even more comfortable - more cushions, less light.

I was in this restaurant yesterday with my family. And I was thrilled. Unfortunately, I have intolerances, which is why I asked the gentleman who served us whether there was flour and milk in the dish I had chosen. He openly admitted that he didn't know but would be happy to bring me an allergy card, which I really thought was great because I've been to restaurants where I was told it wasn't included even though the products in question were included. Because he and a colleague couldn't find the menu, the boss came personally and explained to me how the food was prepared and with what. This meant I could leave out a side dish (actually there would have been sauerkraut, but I couldn't have tolerated it because of one ingredient). I suspect that more fried potatoes were put on my plate. That's how service should be, that's exactly the kind you want. The boy was confident enough to ask his boss and served us in a really friendly and courteous manner. Really great. The food was delicious, I tolerated everything very well. The selection is large but clear, the portions are just right. Price performance was also really top. I would love to come back from Aachen to Düren to eat here.

Rude waiters, terrible food, disturbing fitout and absolutely not kid friendly. Shame what they did to this place over the years.

The food was edible but disappointing. The portion of the grilled knuckle we ordered was generous, but despite the good crust, the knuckle was unseasoned. There was a lack of salt, on the crust, in the meat, even in the gravy. The sauerbraten wasn't good either, the meat was much too firm and the raisins weren't cooked in the sauce, but were just sprinkled on afterwards. The “homemade lemonade” tastes like syrup in water, only garnished with frozen fruit. The service force wasn't really motivated that evening either. It was a “meh” experience that doesn’t need to be repeated.

The Teuterhof is a great address for home-style cooking with a Bavarian twist. The food comes in a reasonable time and the waitresses are friendly. There is a large selection of different dishes: pasta, burgers, sauerbraten - something for everyone. Most recently, I was totally thrilled with grandma's sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings: super tender meat, fantastic sauce and the red cabbage with a slight hint of cinnamon was amazing! The ambience could be a little nicer, but that's also because it's currently undergoing a bit of renovation. I like it best in the back area: winter garden feeling with a view of Willy Brandt Park. Parking is quite limited, but I've always been lucky so far. I can recommend the Teuterhof with a clear conscience!

But in my opinion the cream was sour. I also mentioned this to the waiter. He was just quite surprised and took note of it. Service itself was ok. Could have definitely come upstairs more often and brought drinks. Orders were forgotten a few times. But for me only once. I probably wouldn't come back in this way again.
