Nice loyalty, chef serves directly, Prices on the website are not up-to-date. Many dishes are 3 to 4 euros more expensive.

With a few years' interruption, forced by the coronavirus and a few years due to illness, we've been visiting this restaurant, the "Blue Grotto," for almost 40 years. It will always be our regular restaurant. We enjoy the delicious, tasty food in a cozy atmosphere. I like these booths where we always feel comfortable. The service is always friendly and good. We're always very satisfied. I hope this cozy atmosphere won't change. That's exactly how we like it. We were there again yesterday, and the food was fantastic, as always. The service was also very attentive. Thanks to the chef for the nice conversation; it was a real treat. We'll be back, and I hope we can find a few minutes to talk again. A restaurant where I ate when I was 16, and I still enjoy eating there at 64. It's aged, just like me, but it's retained its character and charm. The food is delicious, the price is right, and the staff are very attentive and friendly.

We rediscovered it this year, and the value for money is simply amazing. The food is delicious, and the service is very good, true to the old-school tradition. 😊

Continuing my comment on the incident while leaving the restaurant yesterday on Mother's Day, I realized today that what happened yesterday also affected our children. Yesterday I ordered salmon number 252 on the menu and the boss or waiter said that the fish took a long time to cook. You can think about how long it actually takes to cook salmon. In this way, the children are taught to lie and the children were also very unhappy because of this incident! He also said that we were kicked out (just because we asked about dinner time and he said it would be a while and the kids had to go home to sleep and go to school the next day because the man was screaming). I also asked a few friends and the man who yelled at my kids was obviously racist. The children and I look like foreigners, even though their father is German. My husband, who has a very good temper, was so angry yesterday that he vowed never to set foot in this restaurant again. It was really an extremely annoying thing. Also, I ordered a latte but it tasted sour. I asked my husband to try it and he too agreed that the taste was different. Then we thought, maybe it's because of the changed milk? Then last night I had diarrhea several times and now I'm thinking maybe it's bad because I remembered I drank it before and the dealer was very nice and proactive and helped us replace it! We are not unreasonable people and even my husband has a very good temperament. But the employee yesterday was very arrogant and rude. I strongly advise people with children not to go there! Our children are very quiet and don't make any noise. We make them take care of cell phones so that they don't affect others. This is already a very serious approach on our part. However, one can even say that the employee is an extremely unreasonable man! If my child is affected by this incident in the future, I will consider hiring a lawyer and suing this man for racial discrimination!

That was probably more of a shot in the dark today. Table reserved for 7:30 p.m., but we were there a little earlier and were able to order straight away. Drinks came quickly too. After more than 40 minutes of waiting, there was still no sign of the food. When asked, it was said that it went from table to table and, among other things, that the salmon ordered had to be thawed first and then fried. Asked again a few minutes later and pointed out that we had now been waiting for over 50 minutes, we only gave a curt answer that we weren't alone and there were others there before us and if we didn't like it we could leave. Which is what we did. Our offer to pay for the drinks was declined. Of course, there can be a bit more going on on Sunday evenings, but fries with chicken nuggets for the children, among other things, shouldn't take that long. And even if it takes longer, you can say this in a slightly friendlier way.

Very cozy Croatian restaurant with particularly delicious dishes, in my opinion it can take a while to be freshly prepared, but that's why it's simply 😋 delicious. In the back area of ​​the restaurant furnished like a grotto, in the front area there are tables for two to six people with natural light, slightly raised, clean and well-kept. But pay attention to the “opening hours”! Things to note on the internet.

Very nice restaurant. Were there today... Celebrating your 13th wedding anniversary! Soo delicious food, steaks medium rare just perfect. As a surprise, two dessert plates of pancakes, covered in chocolate and ice cream inside! Plus a big gift! After asking what we like to drink. Received two bottles as a gift from the boss himself! A wine bottle and a bottle of Julischka sooo loving!! + two pins! 🫶👌

Always delicious food. Very nice employees, polite and attentive. We have already celebrated parties there and were very well entertained. It's not expensive either. All in all very satisfied. Definitely worth a visit. You can also park easily here. Keep it up.

The food was great. The only thing I had to complain about was the liver plate with croquettes. For the price I expected more than 2 small pieces of liver and 6 croquettes. Otherwise everything was very good. Friendly, polite, accommodating. The salad bar was well stocked and everything was fresh.

Went there for dinner with 10 colleagues. The restaurant was well attended. We had to wait a little longer for our food, but the boss provided us with drinks. The food was very good, there was enough choice at the salad bar and everything was fresh. At the end there was a typical schnapps from the Balkans. Thank you for the lovely evening.

You can eat there. The ambience is quite nice. If the service made fewer private phone calls and took more care of the guests, then that would be a great thing. The portions are okay. However, you pay extra for every little thing and at a price that is not fair. The taste of all dishes was fairly neutral. As if something was missing. Conclusion: price-performance ratio is rather a minus.

Totally run-down restaurant, all the chairs/benches are totally shabby/miserably patched/glued. Carpet full of stains and ancient, tablecloth full of stains, men's toilet from the seventies and broken tiles everywhere, pee puddles, simply unacceptable. We had the flamed grill plate, just the meat on it and 2 blobs of Djuvec rice, no decorations on it, not even the red spice paste. Absolutely listless and hardly seasoned but at least edible. At the end the waiter comes and asks if we want a Slibowitz, we say yes, but 30 minutes later there was still nothing, but the waiter was sitting with his compatriot at a table in the themed area, visible to us. We then got up and left and will definitely not be coming back.

We just love being there. The owner is simply top. Food is good. For us it's just a little oasis of well-being. We don't need big steakhouses...❤

Unfortunately I am very disappointed We went there to eat to celebrate my friend's grandma's birthday and at the beginning everything was good. Drinks were ordered and afterwards, when everyone knew what they wanted to eat, so were the dishes An hour and twenty-five minutes later our food arrived and then we had to inform the service that my dish was missing I ordered a 300g Argentinian rump steak medium rear with baked potatoes After another 17 minutes my dish arrived And disappointment again A steak came that was English and instead of the baked potato I got fries They also messed up my friend's dessert. She only wanted chocolate ice cream with cream and then she got chocolate and strawberry ice cream with cream So all in all it's very sad that so much went wrong Unfortunately only 2 stars from me

Best restaurant in Düren, everything was wonderful. Service, comfort, friendliness at a high level. Atmosphere is familiar and cozy. Food is super delicious. Good quality and fresh salad buffet. The restaurant is always full when we come there but with a reservation there is no problem. Plates plentiful and full. We always enjoy coming back. One can only recommend.

Ordered two grill plates to take away today. What can I say, ordered for 2 p.m. When I arrived, the food was already there, taken home and it was cold, I saw it was cold, there wasn't a bit of heat left in it, the fries were thrown under the meat in an aluminum tray, they were inedible, I've never had such bad fries. The chicken meat was very fatty and pink and the meatball was also very very pink. To be honest, for €37 I've never had such a bad meal. I wonder if the boss himself would eat it like that, if they just eat the fries from it, disgusting. Was our last order. A pity

We had a wonderful evening in the “blue grotto”. As a Birkesdorfer, I have known the restaurant my whole life. The atmosphere can be described as quaint and cozy. Lots of wood and comfortable seating invite you to make yourself comfortable there all evening long. The staff always has a smile on their faces and when the boss has time, he tells one or two funny anecdotes. We would give the food more than 5 stars if this were possible. The price/performance ratio is absolutely right here. We would like to come again!

The BEST Croatian restaurant in Düren!!!

Seldom eaten so badly. We had a platter for 2 people, the meat was dry, there were no vegetables or decorations on the platter. A dollop of rice, meat and the rest of the platter of fries. The lady behind the counter kept a long face the whole time. We used to love going to the Blue Grotto. Now they'll never see us again. The money was thrown away.

Blue Grotto was always a special experience, nice and close, almost on foot!! But since then I have lost sight of the fact that I live in a different corner of the Düren district and there are other exclusives. But it's nice that the blue grotto still exists, try the house specialty??

Das Essen war einfach Perfekt , ich kann jedem den Schwertspieß empfehlen das Fleisch war von Hoher Qualität, perfekt Zubereitet und Saftig. Die Teller waren alle leer und die Portionen überfurchsnittlich Groß was mich sofort an meinen Kroatien Urlaub in Split 2004 erinnert hat. Der Kellner war sehr Freundlich , hat sich bei den bestellungen zeit genommen und ist auf individuelle Wünsche der Gäste eingegangen. Es gab sogar für jeden ein leckeres Digestif. Das Rustikale Ambiente hat mich und meine mit Kollegen in ein Gefühl von Entspannung versetzt sodass wir ohne weiteres Speisen konnten . Ich kann das Restaurant jedem weiterempfehlen der Leckeres und Qualitatives essen mag .

Kleines Restaurant mit einer angemessen en Auswahl an bodenständigen Speisen. Die Portionen sind sehr groß. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt.

Seit unserem letzten Besuch vor einigen Jahren machten die Räumlichkeiten einen helleren, renovierten Eindruck. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist okay, ebenso unser Essen. Die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam. Bis zum nächsten Besuch werden sicher nicht wieder Jahre vergehen.

Klassisches Balkanrestaurant mit entsprechender Speisekarte, gutem Service und der Möglichkeit auch mal etwas zu feiern und mehr zu trinken 😉

An sich bin ich immer sehr gerne hier mit meinen Großeltern essen gegangen. Seit der Besitzer jedoch gewechselt hat, ist es nicht mehr das Gleiche. Der neue Besitzer ist sehr launisch. Letztes Jahr an Weihnachten mussten wir fast eine Stunde auf unsere Getränkebestellung warten. Es kam kein Entschuldigung oder sonst was. Nur schroffe Antworten. Sehr schade.

Es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt, das Essen war heiß, so wie ich es mag.

Wir waren jetzt einige Male zu Gast. Bei schönem Wetter im ist die Terrasse zum Essen sehr zu empfehlen. Essen sehr lecker und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Besonders für Familien mit Kindern empfehle ich Blaue Grotte. Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis ist sehr gut.

Leckeres Essen und gemütliche Atmosphäre. Punktabzug gibt es für das überschaubare Salatbuffet.

Dauer bis das das Essen auf dem Tidchvstrht ca. 1,5 std. Trotz wenig betrieb. Die Vorspeise bruscetta war, eine Scheibe Brot aus der alditüte nicht mal angebraten dafür gab es das Lidl Öl in seiner plastikflasche mit auf den Tisch. Die Tomaten roh dazu. Dachte bin bei versteckte Kamera. Habe dann auf den Hauptgang verzichtet. Und bin gegangen. Unterirdisch trifft es wohl am besten.

Hier bleiben nur fünf Sterne!!! Sehr sehr netter Service, das Essen, fünf verschiedene Gerichte, jedes einzelne fünf Sterne!!! Jederzeit wieder sehr gerne, danke für diesen wunderschönen Osterauftakt!!!

Das Hauptgericht war gut. Ausser der Djuvec Reis, er war zu trocken und zu wenig gewürzt. Das Salatbufget, ust leider sehr klein, keine Tomaten und der Grüne Salat war fertig Salat aus der Tüte. Da könnte man frischen Salalt hinten. Service sehr freundlich und Restaurant sehr sauber

Das Essen ist reichhaltig. Zum Glück können wir das Restaurant fußläufig erreichen, sodass wir uns gerne einen Drink mehr genehmigen.
