It's the best Greek restaurant I've ever eaten at. You can't get more authentic food than this, and the restaurant has been run by the same family for 50 years. Simply phenomenal.

Luckily, without a reservation, there was still space at the counter. We received friendly and attentive service. The food tasted very good, as it was authentically Greek. The price-performance ratio is good. We felt at home here.

The ambiance wasn't bad, but that was also the best thing about the restaurant. The wait was very long before we were even served. There were three of us, and we had to wait 20 minutes to even get a menu. It took another 10 minutes for our orders to be taken in a half-full restaurant with four servers. The food isn't bad, but the prices are way overpriced, the portions are a bit small, and a side salad costs extra. In addition, the attention we received when ordering was also lacking. We ordered a red wine and got a rosé wine. We ordered fries as a side dish, which came with potatoes. We also ordered tzatziki, which wasn't served. We immediately informed the server when the main course was served that we had ordered fries. She pulled a face, just said "Okay," and left. We waited about 8 minutes when the fries and the tzatziki we ordered didn't arrive. We started eating. After about 10 minutes, we were served fries. After the table was cleared, which the waiters are very quick at, we weren't even asked if we enjoyed our meal or if we had any other requests. After another 15 minutes, I called a server and told her we'd like to pay. She asked for cash and debit card. We answered cash, and she disappeared without comment. We waited another 15 minutes, and I again asked a server about paying. Finally, after 10 minutes, we were served the bill, and the server disappeared again. I put the money on the table with a small tip, hoping a server would take the money. No luck. We were ignored again. After 15 minutes, we decided to just get up and leave the money on the table. When we left, there was no goodbye. I quickly informed the server that we had put the money on the table, but the server wasn't interested either, and we went to another table. We could have left without paying, and I don't think anyone would have noticed. You won't even get ouzo served after your meal; it costs a whopping €4.50, but instead we each got a small piece of melon. If you want to eat something at inflated prices with poor service and don't want to pay, this is the place for you!

Very good food and very nice people there. We received very courteous service, and the food was very good. I had the mixed appetizer platter, and everything was extremely delicious, a mix of hot and cold starters. The portion was ample, and so was the bread. I will be back.

One of the best greek food I ever had

I came across this Greek restaurant by accident, and it was a real discovery for me. I ordered a mixed grill and was pleasantly surprised: a huge portion for very reasonable money. The meat was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned - every piece was juicy and aromatic. I was also pleased with the beer and especially the ouzo - everything was fresh, with a characteristic taste, as it should be. I would like to separately note the staff: very friendly and welcoming people, creating a truly warm atmosphere. Of all the Greek restaurants I visited in this area, this one was the most memorable. I will definitely come back again - an excellent combination of taste, service and price.

The other 11 have probably given up on this miserable game...

Unfortunately we couldn't try the food. Although we had reserved a week in advance for 14 people, we were informed upon arrival that there was no corresponding reservation. At my persistent insistence, they said they had the conversation but forgot to take notes — 14 people! Of course, when we got angry, we got the answer: “Don’t raise your voice against me.” We came with 14 people from all parts of the city, including children, and still found ourselves in front of closed doors. Thank you for ruining our evening. If you're thinking about making a reservation, think twice - someone might forget to write your name down!

Authentic Greek food and not Germanized. Greek-style potatoes instead of fries, unique gyros. Great shop! Very attentive hosts round off a great evening! The highlight of our Frankfurt stay!

Fine, tasty. Great sides (vegetables, potatoes when we were there). Recommend the grilled pieces of calamari and the minced meat rolls. The mixed starter is good.

I stumbled upon this tavern by chance while on a business trip. Food was super tasty with fresh vegetables and potatoes instead of standard fries. If you're looking for it, you should jump over your shadow, it'll be worth it. Very friendly hosts.

Plaka is our favorite restaurant in Bockenheim. All the dishes we have tried so far are delicious. Bifteki and the fish plate are our favorites. Father and son in service are a friendly team!

We had a very nice evening at Plaka. As vegetarians, we put together several starters and shared them practically like tapas. The food was excellent and the service was super friendly. The two of us paid €65 with wine and arrived home full. All in all, a clear recommendation for everyone.

I ate Easter lamb at Plaka this evening. The meat was completely mixed. There wasn't a single acceptable piece of meat on the plate. I'll look for vegan restaurants. I won't go to Plaka again.

We come to FFM especially to eat here. The starter plate is a must. A lot of it is vegetarian. And then a main course. All very tasty. We'd love to come back... with reservations in advance.

Wir sind durch Zufall in der Taverne gelandet und waren vollkommen begeistert. Sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, sehr nettes Personal und das Essen war der Wahnsinn. Wenn wir das nächste Mal in Frankfurt zu Besuch sind kommen wir gerne wieder.

Im Gegensatz zum Vorhänger … Die Pommes war der Burner!!!! Das komplette Essen war super lecker und sehr schön angerichtet!! Die Gastfreundschaft war hervorragend!!! Wir kommen wieder sobald wir wieder in Frankfurt sind!!! Macht weiter so 👍🏻

Mixed grill was zeer scherp geprijsd voor de hoeveelheid die je krijgt. Het eten was perfect gekruid. Vlees mals en lekkere groenten. Bier en ouzo waren ook heel lekker en het personeel heel vriendelijk. Op alle vlakken stak deze Griek, die ik per toeval tegenkwam, boven andere Grieken uit in de omgeving.

Der Laden ist ewig schon da....man fühlt sich familiär aufgehoben...griechische Gastlichkeit. Das Essen ist lecker, die Bedienung aufmerksam und nicht aufdringlich....auf jeden Fall wieder. Preis Leistung absolut ok. Grosse Karte, mit vielen Leckerlis....in jedem Fall wieder hin.

Extrem leckeres Essen und freundlicher Service. Wir haben draussen an den Tischen auf dem Gehweg gegessen, deswegen kann ich zum Ambiente im Restaurant nichts sagen. Draussen war es okay und dank Gebüsch bekommt man optisch von der Straße nicht allzuviel mit.

Gemütliches Restaurant, zufällig entdeckt und wirklich positiv überrascht, alles wird liebevoll zubereitet. Gemischte Vorspeisen Teller echt ein Traum, das warme Brot mit Olivenöl dazu, passt perfekt. Wir waren mit allen Hautspeisen zufrieden, gut gewürzt, frische Zutaten. Hätten wir nicht die Vorspeise gehabt, wäre mir persönlich der Hauptspeisenteller zu wenig gewesen. Aber was ist schon ein griechischer Restaurant Besuch ohne Meze? Das geht nicht.... also sind wir zufrieden und wirklich satt aus dem Restaurant gekommen🥰

Waren heute zu zweit zum ersten Mal in der Taverne. Das Essen kam sehr schnell und war sehr lecker. Die Portionen waren auch sehr gut, auch für jemanden, der gerne viel isst :) Die paar negativen Rezensionen hier kann ich absolut nicht nachvollziehen. Ich werde die Taverne jedenfalls guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen und sehr wahrscheinlich wieder vorbeischauen. In diesem Sinne, kali mas oreksi! 😊

Amazing food, amazing drinks. Lovely stuff and good customer service. I celebrated new years eve with friends there definitely recommended.

Wir hatten diesmal den Grillteller und den Bauernsalat. Wie beim letzten Mal (Fischplatte, Vorspeisenteller) waren wir wieder sehr zufrieden. Fleisch war gut gebraten und saftig. Der Service ist sehr gut. Danke

Schöner Platz, schnelle Bedienung. Große Auswahl an Vorspeisen und vegetarischen Optionen. Portionen waren ziemlich groß, dazu noch extra ein Korb super leckeres Knobi-Brot. Viel Knobi enthalten, v.a. im Schafskäse in Alufolie, das mögen nicht alle, hatte aber einen tollen Geschmack. Auch Schafskäse in Sesampanade war superlecker. Der Salat mit viel Schafskäse und Granatapfelkernen und Oliven war ebenfalls frisch und sehr lecker. Alles in allem top Essen zu fairem Preis, wir kommen gern wieder.
