Ariston Restaurant in Frankfurt am Main

We booked a table for Friday evening 8.30pm and turned up on time. There was a long queue outside and people who had eaten came out and complained about having waited 1 hour for their food. We stood in the queue for a long time and waited, even though our reservation should have meant that we got in and got our table around 8.30pm. The others in the queue had also reserved and some had a table at 8:00 p.m., and at 8:50 p.m. they or we still hadn't entered. We called 3 times, but the restaurant didn't pick up the phone, so we went and found a super good and cozy Italian restaurant 5 minutes away. The next day we gave the Greeks at Ariston one more chance and got in on time. The service was fine, but the food lacked flavor and was not particularly good. We got starters and 2 different main courses. Friday indicated a lack of management and a lack of knowledge about running a restaurant. The experience of those things was better on Saturday, but the food was not something you come back for. Cannot be recommended. The Italians we ended up with on Friday are called Quattro Ristorante Italiano and were in a completely different class, we would love to visit them again.

They overbook the tables and keep you waiting for very long even if you come with a reservation

We went to Ariston for the first time last Saturday. The food left nothing to be desired, but what impressed us most was the pianist, who put the finishing touches to the evening with beautiful and calm sounds. We will definitely come back!

I am someone who has traveled across the world, and never have I ever had such a terrible experience at a restaurant. We had a reservation but were placed at a small table in the corner with barely any space to move. On top of that, we had to wait for 30 mins and repeatedly called the waitress just to get the menu. Oh, and it got worse. We had to wait over an hour and a half just to get water—and that too, only after I walked all the way to the kitchen and asked a waiter standing nearby to bring us at least some water. It took us two hours to get the starter. Have no idea if and when we will receive the main course we ordered. We are exhausted, and our night completely ruined. Never coming back to this restaurant. Horrible, horrible service. The management should either reduce the number of tables or hire more servers. Have some respect for customers' time and money. It’s shameful that such a restaurant is even allowed to stay open in FFT.

Writing this review as I sit here 90 mins in waiting for our food. We received water after my wife walked into the kitchen asking for it after an hour of waiting. Service is horrible generally but if you are a person of color then forget about the servers even looking at you.

Sad descent My last visit to Ariston was a huge disappointment. Despite being Saturday night, the restaurant was almost empty, and yet we were ignored at the table for a full ten minutes. The service was very inattentive - no wine was refilled and we sat in front of empty glasses and bottles without anyone paying attention. With a total of 5 tables occupied, a poor performance. My main course, limonato – braised veal cheeks – was simply inedible. I could only eat a quarter of it at most. When my almost full plate was finally cleared away, the waiter didn't say a word about it. I had to bring it up myself, but instead of apologizing or offering to make amends, he just took the plate away indifferently and then didn't come back to the table. Nevertheless, my barely touched food was fully charged. The icing on the cake was an ouzo “on the house” – served in a glass with a sharply broken rim that almost cut me. I didn't even bring it up because the waiter was completely indifferent anyway and I wanted to avoid another disappointing reaction. Ariston used to be one of my favorite restaurants, both for business and leisure, but it's not nearly what it once was. Quality and service have declined dramatically. This level is simply not acceptable for the prices quoted. After this experience I will definitely not be coming back.

I tried the Greek cuisine in the Ariston restaurant and was very satisfied especially the meze and seafood were very tasty calamari and the jumbo prawns were perfectly fresh and well prepared the service was quick and the staff friendly the atmosphere is simple but elegant and you have Recommended a good wine for us, the prices are also reasonable. I can recommend it to anyone who loves Mediterranean cuisine

Very tasty Greek cuisine in a nice atmosphere near the Konstablerwache. The food has been convincing on every one of my visits so far and the menu is extensive. The service is very friendly, but not necessarily the most attentive. Each time it took several attempts to get the waitress' attention to us. Prices have also risen noticeably in recent years, especially for drinks. Because of these 2 points, 1 star deducted, but the food is great.

We found it while looking for a different Greek restaurant during the Frankfurt fair nights. We were forced to make a reservation due to the busyness of the fair period. The place is very spacious and stylish, but the services were a little late, perhaps due to the busyness. Some appetizers were far from the general tastes. Generally successful. The price is a little expensive.

We were there on December 31, 2024 and it was very full. Thanks to the reservation we also got our table. The food was great. Service also took a little longer, but that's normal for an evening like this. The ambience was great, but I deducted a star here because I thought we might hear some Greek music, see a plate show or see something else from the Greek language. Nevertheless, it was a very nice evening. Thank you very much. PS: The expense was only so high because we had a large bottle of Ouzo (approx. 90 euros).

5 years ago I rated the Ariston with 4 stars, but after yesterday's visit, December 19, 24, I unfortunately have to reduce this to 2 stars. The reason for this is that the prices are now way over the top and bear no relation to the food. My last visit was probably about a year and a half ago, and I already noticed a significant price increase, but it was still within limits. Yesterday the baby calamares, which were much better in the past for a whopping €27.50, and a glass of open red wine for a cheeky €12.50. The price for the dish Smirneika, consisting of 3 small minced meat rolls in tomato sauce and feta cheese, is also way over the top at €24.50. The friendly and customer-oriented service of the staff is positive. However, the pricing is to be criticized and I see it as pure profit optimization for the owner(s) of Ariston. I travel abroad a lot, I like to eat in good restaurants, so I can easily compare and distinguish between good value for money and price gouging.

Great restaurant, fish and meat mix platters were amazing. Tarama is a must try if you like caviar. Not too many but pretty good wine selection, also.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere, especially in the evenings it is very lively. We tried two recommended dishes and both were excellent. The dessert was also delicious.

Good food in a very nice atmosphere

The food was nice. However, the staff clearly cannot manage when there is a large table. We were a group of eight and the restaurant was less than half full. There was a long wait in-between courses, with mains being brought out at separate times. One guest was still waiting for their main dish when others had finished eating! Wrong food was also brought to our table (which sat for a few minutes) before it was taken away to be served at another table! This wasn’t very professional. Maybe it was just a bad day.

We came in and were allowed to choose our seat, we were then ignored for a few minutes until we finally got the menu, but the young waitress who joined us later was very helpful! The food was very disappointing, the price was definitely not justified, the atmosphere was inviting!

The meal was quality. Small mix in the vintages of wines that personally I would have preferred them to avoid. Quality service otherwise. There were hundreds of us, the place ended up being very noisy.

If you want Greek food in Frankfurt, this is the place! I was introduced to this and visited! The waiter was friendly and talked to us, so it was a fun meal.

The food was very good - nothing beats Greek grill art. The salads were well balanced and the grilled vegetables were well prepared. Unfortunately everything was borderline warm. When it came to service, I had the dubious pleasure of having constantly changing service staff, while the boss was sitting at the next table planning his orders. That's probably how I met a lot of people from the service. The majority are very nice, but also very demanding. Shy people can easily be overlooked - at least that doesn't happen to me. I would give the service team 4.5 stars - but I didn't like the constantly changing contact person. I'm not normally like that - on the day of my visit (Friday 2 p.m.) I found it very annoying. But I would eat there again at any time - the food is exactly my taste and if it's borderline warm again, I'll just ask you to warm it up next time.

Price performance is not okay in my opinion. My eggplant was hard, you couldn't eat it, and the inedible stalk was left on. Found a hair in the food and my order came out wrong. The main courses therefore didn't arrive at the same time, which meant I had to watch and wait while I ate. A bottle of water €8.50 is embarrassingly expensive (0.7l). I wouldn't come back, there are better Greek restaurants in Frankfurt.

Insanely good lunch at fair prices, that was once upon a time. Meanwhile, the prices for lunch have been increased dramatically. I paid 22.00 euros for my meatloaf with a good starter and a dessert that was too cold. My mother had fried zucchini and eggplant, still half cooked, for 12.50. We left 50.00 euros for lunch. The worst thing was that the chef was alone and I had to wait 45 minutes for my main course. Unfortunately we won't be coming anymore.

And when you think you've already experienced everything, then come an evening in Frankfurt at the "Edel" Greek restaurant. First of all: the evening, a birthday party, was funny and fun, although the food was a complete disaster and completely wrong in price. 1,300€ for 12 people, something should be delivered for that. 34€ for the smallest grill plate in the world. Oh, how I love “Ach Niko Ach” on the Kudamm. Back to the Ariston: 2 hours between poor starters and main course, only to sell completely overpriced drinks, that's annoying. But it wasn't all bad, we liked the piano accompaniment throughout the evening, which is a bit small if you're hungry and want Greek food. All in all, by no means a recommendation.

Big mistake. Make an U turn and head somewhere else. They don’t care about you or even your business. 25 minutes to get a first attention of the waitress. Another 40 to actually start eating. And the restaurant was not that busy. And the food was only regular and pricey for what it delivers. Go back and save your day.

We've eaten there a few times and spend a lot of money. At some point we called and asked for the recipe for the bread, and the woman was very rude, said “that’s enough!” and hung up. When we called again, we asked if she really wanted to leave things like that with loyal customers and she said “yes”. We don't go there anymore.

Very friendly staff, everything is very friendly and it’s beautiful inside. Very ordinary food that is clearly not worth the money. I've been to more than 30 Greek restaurants in Germany, and this one definitely comes at the end of the list in terms of food taste.

We were there after a long day at the trade fair without a reservation and were not turned away. the food was very good, stylish, elegant ambience, very friendly service. Estuve allí hace días para una cena de negocios. Reservamos por 20 , cuando llegamos allí les dijimos que éramos 16 en su lugar, y dijeron que sí. Nos piden que nos dividamos en 2 mesas, incluso si pedí que nos quedáramos juntos. Aceptamos. Nos piden que elijamos un menú aunque fuéramos menos. Aceptamos. La calidad de la carne era horrible, nadie era capaz de comer ese chicle. Al final de la cena nos pidieron que pagáramos por 20 personas y dijeron que la mala calidad de la carne no era culpa suya. Después de eso decidí compartir este comentario. Mal servicio, esperamos hous Mala calidad de la comida, carne no comible Mal comportamiento, literalmente robaron la cantidad de 4 comidas La carne y el servicio afectaron la cena de negocios. Una empresa en Utes cliente para pasar una tarde de relax comiendo buena comida y bebiendo buen vino. Definitivamente no es posible.

We had a quite unpleasant experience despite the expectations we had. It was a business dinner for 15 peoples. We booked a table for 15, and on arrival, we were given a table of 10. The manager proposed to cramp two people into one seat which seemed very uncomfortable to me. She insisted by arguing that everyone else did so. (Why should I oblige myself to the standard of others? And I challenge yourself to eat comfortably without being able to stretch your arms.) The service was chaotic and super long. Between the arrival of the first main course a and the last main course of the table, it took 20 mins. The first plats were already cold. And our guests who first had their courses had to eat cold food. The manager explain that the service was long coz they were fully booked that night. (So if you don’t have the capacity to render a quality service, just don’t accommodate so many people. ) The beverage is very diluted. The food is basic not really authentic Greek. 5€ per person for the fork and knife and napkin. Obligation to pay 5/10/15% of tip in the end if you pay by card. Overall, this restaurant is overpriced given its quality. The manager was unpleasant to deal with. Service quality pretty low. I would highly recommend to NOT come here.

I was a guest in this restaurant yesterday and was greeted very friendly by the waiter (Triaxxx) and also received top service. But while I was waiting for my second guest, I had to listen the whole time in my native language as the boss, in a very humiliated manner, personally attacked her two waiters (T and N.) with the worst words because they had private conversations lead over their weekend, that you get your salary to work and do things that have nothing to do with the shop. Even complained that one of the waiters was constantly touching the tablecloths because he was overweight and he had to be more careful with his butt. It was so uncomfortable for me that I wanted to get up and leave but my customer had priority 1. Although the waiter said several times that there was a gentleman sitting at the table who was also Greek, she didn't stop mentally trying to finish her off at the two waiters. Respect to the waiters and the company culture is at one of the worst levels there I'm just saying the poor waiters!!!

Wir waren zum Mittag dort und haben das beste Fisch-Mittagsmenue in Frankfurt bekommen. 23 Euro für drei Gänge absolut fair und super lecker.

The fact that the four people in service (for an estimated 80 people) have been here since 2012 speaks for itself! I still stick with it today: 5 stars Quality, atmosphere, staff (also in the kitchen), continuous opening times are simply perfect. Hilariously hidden in the far corner of the city center and yet on the “Tigerpalast Highway” (opposite the regional court, the people in custody next door probably won’t know it) with a parking garage diagonally opposite. Today again for a cheap, high-quality 3-course lunch for me with turbot (23 €) and all sorts of mezedes (starters) for my 3 companions. We tried all of each. Price-performance is unmatched! We don't understand why the house is still associated with Ex-Binding (Schöfferhofer and Selters yuck, but Radeberger Pils at 0.3 l for €4 is ok). That's why (and not only because of that) we like to grab the Greek house wine “Alpha Malag” (nowhere to be found) 0.2 l for 7.50 or the delicious Lillet for 11 €. We would have loved to sing the Flea Waltz on the piano because we were in such a good mood. But in the end we didn't want to harm the noble house...

A chic, family-run Greek restaurant with authentic, very fine cuisine. If you're looking for gyros here, you're in the wrong place. The service was really friendly and extremely competent. But suddenly there was a lot going on and you had to wait a bit. But all in all a very nice evening and recommended.

Hervorragendes Essen, Service äußerst aufmerksam, hat uns eine wirklich vorzügliche Vorspeisenplatte für 2 zusammengestellt und der Rotwein war auch super. Preis ist klar etwas gehobener, aber jeden € wert. :) Alles in Allem kann ich es besten Gewissens jedem empfehlen.
