Tasty, small and super expensive. But super nice staff. For my taste, a typical, overpriced, hip Frankfurt restaurant. Where you sit so close that you can hear your neighbor breathing.

All the restaurant staff were so nice and friendly that we are seriously considering spending our vacation in Greece this year 😄. Our dog, although of a stately size, was treated like a king😍. Definitely try the baklava for dessert, the best I've ever had!!!

I was sleeping on that! Really, in my opinion, the best Greek restaurant in Frankfurt and the surrounding area! Maybe even the entire world :D The ambience is simply stylish, yet pleasant to linger and talk for hours. The service is extremely fast, very friendly and funny. The individual warm starters and main courses were simply phenomenal! The food was on the table extremely quickly and you don't even feel like going home after eating! Definitely my new favorite restaurant, where I would love to become a regular customer! Jamas!

Wir waren zu sechst im Omonia. Nicht zum ersten, aber für lange Zeit zum letzten Mal. Warum? Es war unmöglich! Viel zu laut, wir saßen sehr eng, Bank unbequem, Tisch blank. Obwohl es sehr eng war, wurden Getränke und Essen angereicht. Service geht anders. Aperitif verwässert. (gestreckt!) Das Essen ist ok, Wein ebenso. Wir hatten zwei Vorspeisen, sechs mal Hauptgericht, ein Dessert. Leute, 480 EUR! 80 EUR/Person. Das ist bei dem mäßigem Service, dem geringen Aufwand, der hier betrieben wird, einfach zu viel. Der sehr laute Chef sollte leise werden und in sich gehen.

Das Essen, das Ambiente, das Team...top! Alles passend, sehr nette Tisch Nachbarn, ein gelungener Abend, sehr gerne wieder!

Always good food, always great service

Unfortunately this place didn't meet my expectations at all! Overall, i wouldn't recommend to friends as the service is very unprofessional and the food is far from authentic. About the service: very bad & unpolite! In the beginning cultural racist jokes then women vs men jokes (all unaccepted and far away from professional). Then they asked our opinion about the food where we gave honest feedback, the waiter became ignorant, unprofessional and pissed! About the food: we ordered lamb (too much cooked) and Moussaka (too salty and far away from delicious or typical Greek Moussaka, even though the waiter told us it is the best plate they have!). Our friends had fish, it was overall good but also very very salty!

Defenitely not recommended, it was a fake Greek culinary experience. Quality price ratio very unsufficient. All the food was too much salty. The moussaká was bad and very salty. Lamb meat overcooked and mediocre quality. Waiter unprofessional and as soon as I complained about the moussaká he stopped interacting (he was trying to be friendly before) and he started being unpolite and unrespectful.

Tasty but not great. The atmosphere is the best thing about Omonia.

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was a disappointment. Why? The portions were extremely small and disproportionately expensive. We also had the impression that the dishes were not freshly prepared, but could have come from ready-made products. --> just our impression, not a claim! As a starter we chose pepperoni, which was served dripping wet. When I bit into it, the juice literally ran out - an experience that reminds us of supermarket products. The baked feta cheese, on the other hand, was reminiscent of a standard Camembert in both appearance and taste. A particular highlight was the grill plate - but in a rather questionable way. For the hefty price of a grill plate for two people, we received six tiny pieces of meat: a skewer, a small chicken fillet, a meatball (which was definitely not a bifteki) and other little things. If we had actually shared this platter, each of us would have only had three pieces of meat. My main course, a lamb stew, also disappointed me. I didn't feel like it was actually lamb. As a lover of Greek cuisine, which we often drive for miles to get to, I can say with conviction that it tastes much better elsewhere - and at a fraction of the price. The food here was a disappointment both in terms of price and quality. I find it particularly unfortunate that tips are expected as a matter of course, even if the quality is not right. We still gave something, but we didn't even get a “thank you” in return. The friendly and fast service as well as the appealing ambience should be positively mentioned. But overall, the negative aspects outweigh the negative aspects. The restaurant is far too expensive for the poor quality of the food. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend it. It's a shame that nowadays there seems to be less and less emphasis on quality. It's best to see for yourself - anyone who knows and appreciates Greek cuisine will definitely be able to taste the differences in quality, regardless of how the restaurant responds to this criticism. Von der ersten Begrüßung bis zum letzten Bissen war alles perfekt. Die Atmosphäre ist unglaublich und einladend, das Team super freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen? Einfach lecker! Frische Zutaten, liebevoll angerichtet, und jede Speise war ein kleiner Genussmoment. Man merkt sofort, wie viel Herzblut in diesem Restaurant steckt. Wir kommen definitiv wieder und können es nur wärmstens empfehlen!”

Cozy and stylish. The menu is typically Greek, as are the portions (a bit much). Quality of the food is first class!!! The service was super authentic. Extremely attentive at the beginning, extremely absent at the end. Tried to order a second drink 3 times, 3 times they forgot me.

Atmosphere is very cool, inside it’s very bar-like and the outside area is heated so you don’t necessarily have to wear a jacket. The Gyros Plate is not as big as ones I’ve had before but the quality is great, it’ll definetly fill you up, especially with the salad you get as the appetizer (included in the price). If you’re looking for for an „authentic“ Greek experience idk if this is the perfect match but it’s definetly Greek, maybe just a tad bit modern.

We often drive from Darmstadt to Frankfurt/Main to eat at Omonia. We think the Greek food is excellent. The service is excellent, asks for satisfaction and is very attentive. The place is very well organized. In addition, you can sit in a pleasant atmosphere indoors and in the cold season you can also sit in the closed outdoor area with heating. Simply highly recommended. Perfect meatballs, the octopus was excellent (side dish was a normal salad, I would have expected something different, but it was good) and the eggplant was very tasty. Highly recommended.

Nette Bedienung, hübsches Interieur aber ganz ehrlich.. Peperoni waren einfach aus dem Glas genommen, auf einen Teller gelegt und Pfeffer obendrauf. Das kriegt man auch alleine zuhause hin. Generell waren alle Vorspeisen winzige Portionen und allesamt aus Fertigverpackungen einfach auf den Teller gelegt und mit Zwiebeln dekoriert. Leider nicht das was man bei den Preisen erwartet… generell alle herzhaften Speisen tendenziell zu ölig und salzig, die Nachspeisen dafür viel zu süß, man meint die Köche versuchen die schlechte Qualität der Speisen mit ordentlich Öl und Sirup zu verdecken… schade.

When we go to a Restaurant that really doesn't drop a pin, it would be good to be patient!!! Don't have the demand that the Drinks come in 10 minutes or that the Food be served in 5 minutes!!! Bei unserer Ankunft im Lokal um 18.00 Uhr - wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert - wurden wir darauf hingewiesen, dass wir mit dem Essen bis 20.15 Uhr Zeit hätten. Da ich mich darüber etwas erstaunt zeigte, wurde mir gesagt, dass doch zwei Stunden genug seien. Der Service war dann auch eher drängend und hektisch. Das Essen war gut und hat uns geschmeckt, aber wir fühlten uns nicht sehr willkommen. Die Räumlichkeiten sind sehr eng, die Tische sehr klein und dicht gestellt und es ist sehr laut. Ich kenne das Restaurant schon ziemlich lange und war immer sehr zufrieden mit der Atmosphäre und dem guten Essen, aber ich glaube, dass ich dort nicht mehr so bald hingehen werde.

I ate at OMONIA TAVERNA & BAR on Saturday November 2nd, 2024. The atmosphere was cozy, typically Greek and warm. The service was attentive and the gyros and bifteki were delicious. A big thank you to the team for the wonderful evening. I look forward to my next visit.

Wonderful modern Greek cuisine. The food was excellent, the staff friendly and attentive, and the decor simple in its elegance. Loved it, and will certainly be back!

Everything was ok. Main meal was very good, the meat was on point. The vegetables were a bit cold and half raw and that shouldn't happen at that price. We smoked in the winter garden next door and I didn't think it was good at all. Dessert was great.

We chose the mixed starter plate, but on the recommendation of the friendly waiter it was 1 portion for 2. That was a good thing, because it was very generous and tasted delicious. For the main course I ordered the grill plate, my partner the moussaka. Both also tasted excellent. I can therefore only highly recommend this Greek restaurant.

Leider enttäuschend. Wurden quasi aus dem Laden geschmissen, weil angeblich der Tisch reserviert war. Der Kellner hat uns dies vorab nicht mitgeteilt. Haben wohl trotz Essen mit Getränken zu wenig Umsatz gemacht. Der Laden war halb leer. Nochmal gehe ich dort nicht hin.

Wir waren zum Abendessen im Omania. Parkplätze sind sehr rar, sodass man auch etwas länger suchen muss. Das Lokal ist relativ klein, sodass es , meiner Meinung, recht eng zugeht. Zudem wurde für die Akustik nichts getan, darum ist es recht laut. Dazu kommt dass die Kellner und der Chef auch noch recht laut agieren, dass es eher störend wirkt. Die Vorspeisen kamen nach ca. 20 min vor den Getränken, Bier vergessen, etc. (kann vorkommen). Die Vorspeisen wären mässig und auf Frage, ob es geschmeckt hatte und verneint wurde, grosse Augen , Rätselraten, Koch kommt... nichts passiert. Gleiches Spiel bei der Hauptspeise. VERWUNDERUNG, aber nichts passiert. Zudem wurde 5 kleine Lammkottelets 35 Euro abzunehmen...Respekt. Alles in allem ist es meiner Meinung zu teuer, auf den Gast (Auswärtige, nicht Stammgäste) tatsächlich wird nicht eingangen. Wieder seit langem ein nicht gutes Abendessen. Entschuldigung

The Omonia is a very popular restaurant in Frankfurt. A reservation is essential as it is relatively small. Parking spaces are very difficult to find and it is better to come by tram or bus or taxi. Due to the poor acoustics of the room, it is sociable but annoyingly loud. After 20 to 25 minutes, the starter is served before the drinks. The starters were rather mediocre. The Greek farmer's sakat was a bit limp and small for 13.90 euros and the 4 pieces of feta didn't save it either. My grill plate was bland and very mediocre. Souvlaki was km away from a Greek version. But whatever. The worst thing is that all the waiters are very nice, but they don't understand that sometimes it doesn't taste good. The boss is always very loud and imposing in the rush of his emotions. And overall nothing comes of it. Not with the starter and not with the main courses either. Forgotten espresso and ouzu only for regular guests. It's all a shame... in my opinion too expensive, too loud and not open to criticism. Lost in Space in the flow of popularity.

Well, I have to say, we received a very friendly welcome. Our waiter was very attentive, even though the restaurant was full. The starter platter for 2 is already big, I think it's great :) then we had the skewers and the grilled seafood (octopus, cuttlefish and shrimps). The intestines were even perfectly removed from the shrimp. World class, thanks to the chef for this culinary trip to Greece and the ouzo was awesome.

Habe kurzfristig meinen Geburtstag hier gefeiert im kleinen Kreis. Das Restaurant ist sehr schön das Essen von hoher Qualität. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich mit ein bisschen Show Einlage. In Summe war es ein schöner Abend. Ich war schon mal vor Ort vor ein paar Jahren da und damals hat’s mir auch gut gefallen. Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen vorher unbedingt reservieren.

Yesterday we had dinner with the company at Omonia. It was great! Everyone really enjoyed it, there was something for everyone. Vegans also found what they were looking for. Very tasty, but a bit expensive (the same quality can be found cheaper in similar restaurants). The service is very fast and nice, but there are a bit too many comments for my taste as we are a purely women's group. You can sit outside very nicely, it's very big overall - not that comfortable, but it's still very nice to sit there. There is no vegetarian main course, just salad, but the mezze are so delicious that you can easily live with several mezze as a main course.

Top shop with a taverna look right at the U5 stop Glauburgstraße in the Nordend. Looks chic and cozy at the same time. Our food, zucchini pancakes, grape leaves, mixed mezedes, lamb fillets, juvetsi and the grilled plates tasted great, and the wine recommendation from the waiter, who acted with the perfect mix of rustic humor and friendly politeness, was a perfect fit. Prices have now reached the unfortunately usual inner-city level. However, given the quality on offer, that's completely okay.

Aus Düsseldorf anlässlich des Geburtstags unseres in Frankfurt lebenden Sohnes gekommen. Auf der Suche nach einem "guten Griechen" auf das Omonia gestoßen. Die weite Anfahrt hat sich absolut gelohnt... Ausgezeichnetes Essen, super sympathisches Serviceteam, sehr schöne Atmosphäre draußen auf der Terrasse. Portionen groß, aber noch schaffbar. Preise etwas gehobene Kategorie, aber vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis vollkommen in Ordnung. Absolute Empfehlung. Spätestens nächstes Jahr kommen wir wieder...

Omonia is one of only a few restaurants in Frankfurt that offer a great selection of delicious food, a nice family atmosphere as well as authentic and kind service. Charis makes us smile every time, and all the others are quick and attentive also. Compliments to the team!

Unfortunately it was a total failure. The food (calamari) came to the table cold. Upon request, it was heated again, which resulted in it being partially burned. Unfortunately the salad was not fresh and had dark spots throughout. Finally, the waiter poured the drink onto his pants and the table. Unfortunately not recommended. Too bad.

As always, a great experience. Sometimes the service staff can be a bit grumpy, but the food is always delicious in every respect.

We arrived before 7pm. One of the waiters (who was continuously arguing) took our order but did not inform anyone else until 50 minutes later when someone else decided to check on us. Our actual waiter was doing very well, but we could see how tired he was of fighting with the other guy. Food took very long but was very tasty. A pity that the level of service does not match the prices. I have eaten here a few times and can conclude “very good food, disorganized service, not cheap”.

With the best will in the world, how can you rate this restaurant with so many stars. The entertainer in service confuses the guests when ordering. Tries to persuade the guest to place expensive orders. We felt like we were on the Reberbahn in a cheap amateur film that tried to impress its guests with cheap sayings. In addition, the chef de service sets his own tip and he rudely and directly pointed out to the guest that he didn't want to tip enough. Although the tip was already 10%. Something like that is just outrageous and stupid. We would recommend going to another Greek restaurant because that's just not possible. Unfortunately, a disappointing visit, in which our order was on the one hand incomplete - bread and the main course side dishes of baked potatoes, vegetables, salad were missing - and on the other hand, especially in the case of the most expensive seafood dish on the menu (plate with 3 scampi, 3 pieces of calamari, a medium-long octopus arm, for 35€) the quality wasn't right at all: the scampis tasted musty on the inside - i.e. no longer completely fresh - and the seafood had no taste at all apart from a slight grilled note. The olives we ordered were supposed to come with white bread, which was initially completely missing, then a basket of completely dried out bread was brought to us, and the freshness only improved when we asked again. The average Google rating of 4.3 cannot be understood. Price and performance are not at all balanced in this restaurant. Unfortunately, we don’t recommend it.

The food was very tasty but there were huge differences in portion sizes. The waiter's loud announcements to his staff came across as very aggressive, even if you didn't understand them. Everyone tended to be very stressed because the place was pretty full. At the table itself, all the service staff were friendly. However, we were not asked if we would like another dessert. My husband had the seat cushion taken away from him without warning while he was sitting down, quite strange. The ambience is very nice.
