Taverne Nefeli in München

Unfortunately, the owner had my original review deleted after more than three years, claiming defamation, and as I've read here, I'm apparently not the only one this has happened to. However, sending the receipt to Google quickly refuted the defamation claim. --------------------------------------- Original review, February 2022: A hygiene fee of €0.70 per person? I expect hygiene in a restaurant as a matter of course and don't want to pay extra for it. The menu takes some getting used to. What are tagliatelle and burgers doing on a Greek restaurant menu, for example? The food was okay, but there are far better Greek restaurants in Munich.

My honest review from 3 years ago has NOW been taken offline, and I was contacted and told to change it due to alleged defamation... sorry - honest criticism/review is not defamation, but a suggestion for changes. Perhaps things have changed since then - I can't say, as we haven't been there since our family gathering in 2022. Original review from 2022: We were about 20 people, and the first appetizers arrived before all the drinks were even on the table. Service/inquiries about whether we needed more drinks or anything else were slow to nonexistent. Personally, I think paper menus would be more practical than tablets (especially the seemingly one tablet for three people). The food was good, but it could have been presented with a bit more care and in a more 'Greek' style. For example... A souvlaki shouldn't just come with meat and potatoes and a slice of lemon – a dollop of tzatziki should be standard, and especially a sufficient amount of salad dressing in the side salad. To pay (split up), we had to go to the cashier. Since no one received a receipt detailing what they had paid, and there was still some money left over, it was a bit difficult to determine who was responsible or if there had been an error in the billing. The simpler and more customer-friendly way is still either to note down individual payments at the table and return with separate receipts, or to bring the main bill to the table and mark off what has been collected. In the age of cell phones, there's no need to do mental arithmetic anymore – then there wouldn't be any chaos.

It was a rather mixed experience. The food itself was really delicious, no question. However, the restaurant was very loud, making normal conversation difficult and rather unpleasant. What was truly disappointing for us, though, was the wait time. We had to wait almost an hour for the appetizer and another hour or so for the main course. That's simply too long, even if the food is good. So, overall: the food was excellent, but the atmosphere and service desperately need improvement. Therefore, we're giving it 3 stars.

We were a group of 25 for our Christmas party at Taverna Nefeli – despite having booked in advance and a set menu, it was a complete disaster. Seating: Although the restaurant wasn't full, we were split between two separate rows of tables. A simple rearrangement would have been possible. Preparation: inadequate. Food: All courses were served as mini-portions for four people each – completely disproportionate to the price of €55 per person. The food was disappointing in both taste and appearance, some dishes even inedible: • Some of the meat was raw, • The fish was dried out and bland, • The side dishes were cold, dry, and looked stale, • Overall, the presentation was unappealing and lacked freshness. Dessert: The absolute low point: The yogurt with apple and honey smelled and tasted of onions. Our complaint was ignored and brushed off by the waiter – extremely unprofessional. Drinks & Service: The cola was poured into a carafe to serve with the whisky, resulting in a flat drink and making it impossible to know what was actually being served. Service was uncoordinated, overwhelmed, sometimes unfriendly, and unwilling to find solutions. Entertainment: The belly dancer was only present for a few minutes; the music was monotonous and lacked atmosphere. Value for money: For a four-figure bill, we received meager portions, questionable quality, and poor service. Absolutely unjustified. Conclusion: Disappointing across the board – from raw meat and stale side dishes to a dessert that tasted of onions. Poor service, uninspired food, and no festive ambiance. Not recommended.

The food was excellent and plentiful. A fantastic belly dancing performance finished the evening. Table reservations are recommended.

I haven't been to Nefeli in at least six years. I used to eat there very often. The food is still very good, and you certainly can't complain about the portion sizes. Even the wine on the wine flat rate is drinkable :-) The service was okay, but I would have appreciated a quick check-in now and then to see if we needed anything else. And the restaurant wasn't full, especially for a Saturday. The atmosphere at Nefeli used to be fantastic. Loud, packed, amazing (if that's your thing). It's not like that anymore. I was looking forward to the belly dancer. Is she still performing? (To be fair, we were there on November 1st, a public holiday). The prices have gone up, but for six people, with two fish dishes, appetizers, and two desserts, I think €300 is still reasonable.

Friendly service. We had a very good meal and a lovely, relaxing evening.

We stumbled upon this place by chance and were delighted. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the gyros! We also really appreciated the smaller portions. The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy. A truly wonderful visit all around. We'll be back!

In our experience, this establishment doesn't deserve more than one star. A wait of 1.5 hours is unacceptable, especially since the food was served cold. Treating guests like this is unprofessional and simply unacceptable.

I've eaten at the Nefeli Tavern many times – the menu is extensive and varied, and every dish I've tried so far has been absolutely fantastic and highly recommended. The many different offerings the restaurant strives to offer (currently Eat the Greek) are particularly great – varied, diverse, and not something you'll find everywhere else. The all-you-can-drink wine offering is also a real highlight and perfectly rounds off the visit. The service, in my opinion, is one of the best I've ever experienced. Especially the two waiters, who are almost always there (a young man and an older man), do their job with passion and absolute professionalism – hats off to them! Unfortunately, many guests these days are very impatient and don't realize the effort that goes into serving a completely full restaurant. In my opinion, they do a truly fantastic job. An all-around top-notch restaurant that I enjoy visiting again and again. Highly recommended!

I don't usually write reviews, but I came here for my girlfriend's birthday, and we were both absolutely thrilled. The service was incredibly friendly, attentive, and fun. Every request was happily accommodated, and the food was fantastic! The octopus from the appetizer selection was especially incredible! At the end, the equally super-friendly host even gave us a small dessert selection on the house!!😍Epharisto and the entire Nefeli team, and we'll definitely see you again!! EDIT: Monday to Thursday, there's now a menu with 7 small dishes to choose from. A truly fantastic idea! We were able to try all the different dishes and absolutely loved it! Thank you for another fantastic evening!!!

We've been to Nefeli several times, and we highly recommend it. They had an "eat the Greek" option with seven plates to choose from, which we loved. Overall, the food was well-prepared to very good. The ambiance could be nicer; the restaurant has a lovely outdoor area with a roof, but it was closed. Service was unfortunately a bit slow, but friendly and hospitable. As we said, we enjoy going there.

After Nefeli had my 2 star rating removed (which seems to be common practice according to many other customers, as can be read here from those who, like me, take the trouble to write again), I was happy to add another star. To put it briefly: mediocre food at best at completely overpriced prices. Just accept criticism, then you wouldn't be terribly annoyed afterwards, but instead you might come back again.

Amazing atmosphere and food!! I loved how friendly the staff there was. We visited the tavern for Easter day, and they had live greek music. They even allowed us to sing one Cypriot song before we left. We would definitely visit again!! 😊✨️

Four of us ate there. The food was very good, but that's what you would expect at over €120 for a main course and a drink each. We didn't have any appetizers, dessert or coffee etc. The service is quite good, but some waiters have a somewhat "bitter friendliness" which others compensate for in a positive way. There are seats that I would describe as really uncomfortable. Ours was one of those. Overall, everything is just too narrow because it's too crowded, and when it's full it's also very loud. In addition, at some seats you come into involuntary contact with coming and going guests. Something that I really dislike, especially when you're constantly exposed to the cold from outside. If you're a guest here at a time when it's not very busy, then I like to go there to eat. Last time I was there I would have gone again if I hadn't been there with 3 other people. Regardless of my criticism, the food is impeccable and all around very good (tasty)

We found out about this great Greek restaurant through Groupon. We had a menu for 4 people with ouzo as an aperitif, Greek bruschetta and as a main course 2kg of Argentine wild prawns with one side dish per person. It was just delicious! Nothing more can be said about it. We haven't been to such a good Greek restaurant for a long time. We were immediately greeted warmly with a handshake. The service and the boss... just great and everyone was very friendly! A nice, cozy, authentic Greek restaurant. It's a shame that we live over 50km away, otherwise this would definitely be our favorite place. Despite everything, we will definitely come back! This Greek is worth the kilometers!

Sowohl die Vorspeise als auch die Garnelen waren sehr gut. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und ging auf Sonderwünsche gerne ein. Ambiente war angenehm, Restaurant war gut besucht. Die schlechten Bewertungen anderer Gäste sind für mich nicht nachvollziehbar.

Due to a garlic allergy, I'm not usually a big fan of Greek cuisine, but the selection of alternatives was plentiful and my beef fillet with grilled vegetables was excellent. I was there as part of a large party and all the other dishes looked and tasted excellent. I will definitely be happy to come back.

Disappointing I expected quality and good food but no..

Very solid Greek. You feel comfortable, even if the ambience is nothing special. The food was better average. The service was excellent. Very attentive and warm. You can't go wrong with a visit to Nefeli.

Four of us were in the restaurant on a Monday evening. I had made a reservation, which wasn't necessary that day. Unfortunately we chose a seat by the window because after a while we noticed that the restaurant wasn't too warm and the window seat didn't make things any better. We weren't freezing, but a little bit warmer would have been better. I can only say this much about the food: I'm full and I like to eat a lot - although I also have to say that I helped my children a little with their portions. I eat mostly vegetarian and this time I wanted to eat meat again. If you don't eat it for a while, you quickly notice that it is well and strongly seasoned and that it also tasted good here. The lamb chops were super tender, the gyros juicy, souvlaki and bifteki were also tender and juicy. My daughter really liked the rice. Unfortunately, the coleslaw wasn't particularly seasoned and the dressing on the side salad could also use a little more imagination. What was convincing was the service. Especially in connection with children and intolerances, I felt in good hands and well advised. We really liked it here and will come back. Next time I would like to try the vegetarian dishes and would be happy if the selection might even grow a bit by then ;)

Gyros not crispy and basically not seasoned. It was a kind of pan-fried schnitzel. Coleslaw wasn't marinated either. I remembered both better. However, fries and potatoes were ok. It was pretty cold in the room.

Well I have to say that the portions are really small! I had calamir, there were 6 pieces on the plate with a bit of rice and salad, no sauce, nothing, I really didn't get full, my friend had salmon, that was okay and that Quantity was also ok! but 22 euros for 6 to 7 baby calamari woah no! the tetovated waiter wasn't the most polite either, I had it appear that they wanted to get rid of us It was half past ten in Abena and the waiter was going back and forth the whole time, totally strange, so we wanted to have our Christmas party there, but I've now advised against it in the company because I really don't like it! Other Greeks give me an ouzo like that Nothing here! No Greek music, no, unfortunately I won't be coming anymore! Unless I hear something changing for the better!!!! Während auf dieser Seite gute Getränke erscheinen, kommen auch Getränke von schlechter Qualität auf den Tisch.

The atmosphere of the location is very inviting and cozy. The staff is still friendly even when the house is full (even if you have to wait a little longer from time to time). The food itself is okay, but I would expect a little more quality at these prices.

Great food, good service, nice place. We had slow cooked lamb and chicken. It was delicious! The only thing I didn't like was garlic powder on pita bread as fresh garlic tastes better. But the easy solution is just ordering it with oregano only. Looking forward to coming here again!

We were here for my birthday and the food was super delicious!! Waiters are soooo friendly, funny and caring:) definitely will come back!! And biggest thanks to Pavlos Pajtim! ♥️ and when we were leaving I just told Petros it’s my birthday and he said just sit for 2 more minutes. Then he sent us a whole desert plate!! Ordered for delivery again today via Lieferando. Delivery time was about 45 minutes which was ok for us. We had Biefteki and Gyros as well as Mousakka. Mousakka was very good, unfortunately the rest wasn't, meat was just dry with no taste. The side salt was very good. We won't be ordering there again in the future because the quality of the meat just isn't right for the price.

If Greek, then NEFELI. World class quality and it tastes simply sensational. Only recommended!

Service was quite stressful (despite few guests) and sometimes annoyed guests so much during their stay that they got up and left before ordering. Food was pretty tasteless and I can't understand the reviews at all. The taste of the food was simply not tasty. The prices blew us away!!!! Absolutely overpriced and far from justified. Value for money 1 star! There were an incredible number of flies on the terrace, making the food inedible. The mood of the service staff in the restaurant was simply uncomfortable and the atmosphere between the service staff was also irritable. We just wanted to try Nefeli because of the good reviews, but we won't be visiting the restaurant again.

Our second time in the tavern “Nefeli” (Munich-Ramersdorf). We were thrilled. Parking space in front of the door. The welcome was very warm, the ambience and selection of food were typically Greek, the service was very attentive and the farewell was just as warm as the welcome. Particularly recommended!

So, with the best will in the world, I can't understand the reviews that you have to wait a long time or that the staff was arrogant or that the food wasn't good. I had dinner there yesterday with my wife and were warmly welcomed. The wait for the food was good so not too long and the quality was excellent. The meat was super tender and the taste was just perfect. The price is of course a little higher but I think since everything has become more expensive and the portions are really big, you can't complain. We will definitely come by again because I can only recommend it.

Wir kennen das Restaurant jetz tschon sehr lange Zeit, sind sehr oft dagewesen. Vor 15 Jahren war es sehr gut, dann war es okay - un in der Corona Zeit haben wir öfters genutzt - allein schon wegen dem Namen Call-a-Greek. Seitdem waren wir noch ein paar Mal da - aber hat es eher weniger gefallen. Das als Vorgeschichte zu unserem Besuch im April 2024. Unser Service war eher unfreundlich, wobei andere Mitarbeiter deutlich freundlicher waren. Leider war auch der Chef nicht da - der es sonst oft gerettet hat. Das Essen - hmmh, das trockene Thunfischsteak wurde dominiert von einer zu dicken Sesamkruste, das Gemüse war ziemlich zerkocht, der Bergkäse war gut, leider war der leicht labbrige Salat in viel zu viel Sosse ertränkt. Schade um die schöne Location - wo es eh nicht so viele Alternativen in der Nähe gibt. Ich glaube, jetzt nur noch mal auf ein Bier - aber Essen dort nicht mehr.

Update: The owner tried to have the review deleted via a lawyer (but was able to prove that he ordered there). Reviews are heavily glossed over because critical ones are deleted. Questionable shop. Lettuce was from the day before (withered leaves, tomato tasted like compost). Bifteki was filled with mozerella (not sheep's cheese as claimed on the menu) and generally meat was very dry and tough. I would avoid.

Had a meal at Nefeli a few months ago and was very disappointed. Because of the many positive reviews (most of which are several years old) we have now made a second attempt and that was our last one. The food is grossly overpriced, the quality is absolutely not fair to the price and the service is arrogant. We were really happy that he hardly showed up.... You have to be able to afford to go out to eat now, but then I want to at least enjoy my food and feel like a welcome guest. This was not the case here.

Today we ate at Nefeli again after a long time and it tasted wonderful. The terrace has been beautifully renovated and you feel like you are in a tavern in Greece. Starter very tasty and the rest of the menu is also highly recommended.

The food itself is very good, although a bit expensive. Service well, we ordered 2 main courses and 5 minutes after ordering we decided to have a starter. The waiter told us that the boss refused to change that because we were only guests in the sauna and not in the restaurant itself. But the restaurant was closed so the extra effort couldn't have been due. I mean, if you don't want to make money, it's your own fault, but we were very surprised.

Nefeli is my favorite place when I want to eat authentically Greek food. Always top quality, attentive, friendly service and many different places to choose from.

Wir kamen mit Groupon- Gutscheinen und wurden korrekt bedient. Allerdings nicht mit viel Liebe. Das Essen war - griechisch typisch - total übergart. Das heist die Scampis waren "furztrocken". Dafür war das Gemüse knackig. Die Möhren "sprangen" vom Teller. Etwas zu trinken zu bestellen war schwierig, wäre aber dringend nötig gewesen. Alles in Allem: extra dort hinzufahren halte ich für unnötig.

We haven't been there for a year and have always been very satisfied. A friend recently said that the price-performance ratio is no longer right. Unfortunately, we found out today that this is true. The gyro was very fatty, the calamari was cold, the moussaka was burnt and the potatoes in it were still hard. In the end it was quite expensive and there wasn't a single ouzo...a shame! :(

Was als Wildscampis bezeichnet wurde, waren minderwertige Tiefkühlprodukte, teuer, lauwarm, schlecht zu schälen und geschmacklos. Eine Riesenenttäuschung, weil wir uns - natürlich - auf ein tolles Abendessen gefreut hatten. Auch die Bruscetti waren keine: komische Paste und harte Schinkenscheibe. Doch: der Ouzo war gut.....

It is the best and tastiest Greek in the world

wir sind Stammkunden dieses Restaurants, waren aber sehr enttäuscht von dem Service den wir an einem Dienstag Abend bekamen. Der Kellner war alleine für die gesamte Terrasse zusändig, damit überfordert und schlecht gelaunt. Das Essen kam nach 1,5 Std. die Dorade für zwei Personen war dann auch noch trocken. Es wurde uns kein Brot angeboten um die Zeit zu überbrücken, am Ende haben wir wortlos eine Flasche Ouzo auf den Tisch bestellt bekommen. Die Terasse war kalt und zugig, der Chef selbst mit anderen Gästen beschäftig und es hat ihn nicht gekümmert, das fast niemand Essen auf dem Tisch bekommen hat und alle warten mussten. Wir kommen nie wieder, tut uns leid aber so kann man Kunden nicht behandeln.

Warm starter platter for 2 people. ordered: the quantity is a joke with 1 pepper, a few breaded half-slices of zucchini, eggplant, tzalziki and 2 pieces of gratinated sheep's cheese, which tasted really old and the whole thing for €32.90.

It's a shame that our review, which only contained the facts of our visit, was deleted!! I've lived in Munich since I was little and have been to a lot of Greek people, and mostly I'm very satisfied. This is very expensive considering the price-performance ratio. The warm starter plate (mediocre) for over €16. I have nothing to say against the guys' service. Always tip generously, but with a grain of salt / You shouldn't have to ask for pepper. The pitas were flaky. Well, it's ok but for the prices you eat better with more choice in many other Greek places.

The food - hmm, the tuna steak was dominated by a sesame crust that was too thick, the vegetables were pretty overcooked, the mountain cheese was good, unfortunately the soggy salad was drowned in far too much sauce. Unfortunately, I have to say that the quality of the food has declined over the years. It's a shame about the beautiful location - where there aren't that many alternatives anyway. I think just for a beer now - but we don't need food there anymore.

Pure disappointment! We had a dinner date this evening. We waited 1.5 hours for our food - there were technical problems, but we were informed of this after an hour of waiting and our order was taken again. We waited 20-30 minutes for drinks. We had a pregnant woman with us and we asked the waiters several times to bring her something to eat in advance, but this didn't happen. After the food arrived the disappointment was greater, it was burnt and didn't taste good. Shortly afterwards, 2 out of 4 developed stomach problems and 1 stopped eating. We won't go there again! A pity...

We ate in this restaurant on business and were immediately seated in a friendly manner. The service was very friendly throughout the evening. The food was sometimes good, sometimes not so good. The tzatziki looked like the one in a cup in the supermarket, the souvlaki and bifteki were excellent, the gyros were unfortunately not very crispy and unfortunately very fatty and partly undercooked. We received a small compensation from the service quickly and professionally for the fact that the gyro wasn't cooked through, which was very good.
