Taverna Kreta Griechisches Restaurant in Halle (Saale)

Die Taverna Kreta ist so ein Restaurant, bei dem man schon beim Reingehen denkt: Sehr gut, heute geht niemand hungrig nach Hause. In meinem Fall gab es ein leckeres Buffet mit einer schönen Auswahl an klassischen griechischen Speisen, sodass wirklich für jeden etwas dabei war. Genau richtig für einen entspannten Abend, an dem man sich einfach durchprobieren und gemütlich zusammensitzen möchte. Besonders positiv fällt das Personal auf: sehr höflich, freundlich und angenehm aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Man fühlt sich als Gast willkommen und gut aufgehoben, was den Besuch direkt noch angenehmer macht. Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt ist für mich eher das Ambiente. Es ist völlig in Ordnung und durchaus gemütlich, aber gerade bei einem griechischen Restaurant könnte ich mir noch etwas mehr Flair, Wärme und Charakter vorstellen. Mit ein bisschen mehr Urlaubsgefühl im Raum wäre das Gesamtbild noch stimmiger. Unterm Strich aber ein sympathisches Restaurant mit leckerem Buffet, sehr höflichem Service und angenehmer Atmosphäre. Sehr gute 4 Sterne — und mit etwas mehr griechischem Flair im Ambiente wäre auch der fünfte Stern locker drin.

Ohne Reservierung wurde uns ein Tisch schnell zugeteilt. Bestellung (Getränke) war sehr zügig. Das Buffet war sehr lecker. Klare Empfehlung.

Die Räumlichkeiten befanden sich gerade im Umbau, trotzdem wird der Restaurantbetrieb aufrecht gehalten. Deshalb nur 4 Sterne fürs Ambiente. Essen (Buffet) und Personal war super. Ich komme wieder.

gute vegetarische auswahl beim buffet, vegan könnte noch mehr sein. vegane desserts gibt es keine. das essen beim buffet war lecker.

Aufmerksames und freundliches Personal, sehr gute kretische Gerichte und angenehme Atmosphäre.

Wir kamen eine Stunde vor Ladenschluss, es waren keine anderen Gäste da, aber wir wurden trotzdem bestens bedient – ​​wir hatten eine englischsprachige Bedienung! Tolle Atmosphäre und noch tolleres Essen. Sehr gemütlich, warm und authentisch. Gratis Uozo-Shots? Einfach so? Ich liebe diesen Ort und komme auf jeden Fall wieder! ❤️

Die neuen Besitzer sind gut aufgestellt. Das Buffet wurde erweitert und verfeinert. Das Personal ist stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. Leider ist im Inneren des Restaurants nichts passiert. Immernoch die selbe Einrichtung wie vor 10 Jahren. Aufgrund der positiven Veränderungen, kommen wir gern wieder.

Krabbenspieße TK-Fertigware, schlechte Qualität. Der Reis vom "Jugoslawen". Das 2. Essen war nicht wirklich besser. Das schlechteste Bier in Halle.

Wir waren heute das Zweite Mal da wie immer wurde man sehr Freundlich Empfangen, Sie sind alle sehr Freundlich auch das Essen war Gut wir hatten ein Büffe man kann auch aus der Karte wählen .an Sitz hir sehr Gut ! Sind sehr Aufmerksam haben uns Wohl Gefühlt

So I can't understand the good reviews. We were the only guests in the early evening. The air was stagnant in the dining room. The two employees sat at the table and looked at their cell phones. We were offered the buffet. I have no idea how long it's been there, say it's like it was from the lunch table. We ordered from the menu. Even ordering wasn't that easy; replacing one meat with another was too much for the waitress. He also couldn't answer questions about the dishes. My son got gyros that neither tasted good nor was well done and it was also cold. When we complained there was only a shrug of the shoulders. No apology - nothing. My mixed salad consisted of 200 grams of coleslaw, 4 slices each of tomatoes and cucumber, 6 olives and iceberg lettuce (the amount like parmesan over pasta). My credit card wasn't accepted when paying, even though everyone is always taken and tips by card are not possible. Then there wasn't one - they honestly didn't deserve it.

Good prices, good food, good service. The grilled pepperoni were so delicious! I can highly recommend it.

Typical Greek, buffet still moderate

Was fine. In my opinion, the value for money was not right. 19€ for 3 small thin pieces of dry meat and tomato rice…. Actually ordered with fries. ... I had canceled liver on the plate => not even a bit more gyros or something similar. Colleague asked if he could have cheese sauce or metaxa sauce instead of tzatziki => oton waiter: we have coleslaw.

Very tasty buffet at a reasonable price

Small restaurant. A nice woman greeted us and we didn't even have a reservation but they accepted us. Souvlaki is served without tzatziki sauce and with very dry meat skewered thinly. Souvlaki contains rice, but I immediately asked if this could be replaced with Pomies and was told it wasn't a problem and I ordered another portion of Pomies for my daughter. In the end they counted me the pomies twice and 1 for twice the price. The prices are high and it's not worth it. We definitely won't go there again and I can't recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Went there on Friday at lunchtime and ate from the buffet. Everything was fresh and a delicious selection of salads, main courses and desserts. The service was friendly and everything seemed very tidy and well maintained. Even though there wasn't much going on, we always made sure that there was enough of everything at the buffet and that it was beautifully presented. I enjoyed it and enjoyed it, I'll be back!

Considering there are many good Greek restaurants, we were very excited about our visit to Taverne Crete based on the good reviews. Ultimately, we were disappointed in many ways. It started with the staff, who stood behind the counter with little attention and took their time clearing plates or asking for drinks. This continued with the atmosphere, which has more of a train station charm. This is certainly also due to the all-you-can-eat buffet, which creates a general unrest and is certainly the reason for the many good reviews, because (to my knowledge) there is no such offer anywhere else in Halle. If you want to fill your stomach at a buffet with lots of convenience goods for reasonable money, you're definitely in good hands here. However, ordering à la carte disappointed us. The side salad with a(!) slice of tomato, a(!) slice of cucumber and a heap of coleslaw with ready-made yoghurt dressing was just as disappointing as the main courses. The bifteki lacked any herbal flavors. It tasted like salted minced meat with a (according to the menu) feta filling, but its consistency and taste was more reminiscent of inexpensive shepherd's cheese from a discount store. The minced steaks (!) from the menu were only one, and the portion, combined with two heaps of over-seasoned tomato rice and more coleslaw, was far too small. The "Athos plate" was not a plate, but a carelessly arranged normal plate with an (even) smaller version of the bifteki, gyros, which tasted more like warmed-up kebab from the snack bar and did not deserve this name (here, too, there was no use of Greek spices ) and souvlaki. Portions at a Greek restaurant certainly don't have to be huge, but if they are manageable, you expect at least good quality meat, sophisticated seasoning, and a bit of love in preparation or presentation. We missed all of that here. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't flashy in any way. Pure average, and that's simply not enough given the aforementioned range of very good to excellent Greeks in the city. Conclusion: As fans of Greek food and Greece, we were disappointed because it has very little to do with authentic Greek cuisine. If, on the other hand, you want to fill your stomach at a buffet for a good 20 euros (in the evening) without having any special expectations of the food, you are certainly in good hands here. We won't come here again.

The ambience is okay and the drinks are good. We ate from the buffet, there is no real gyros meat as we know it but a kind of kebab meat, which I think is a shame, the tzatziki was very tasty. The bread was a cheap supermarket baguette that we didn't even bother to unwrap

We were there today, November 9th. for the lunch buffet at 10. everything was super tasty, hot, rich and it was always quickly refilled. Everything was to our complete satisfaction. It was the worst restaurant I have been in to my whole life, the food was horrible,I am Greek ,so I know all about our food, that was not Greek food at all . As for the owners and the chef are not Greek. the price was to high for the type and the quality of the food. I can never recommend it to anyone nether I will ever go back there.

Found this restaurant using Google Maps. Wanted something for lunch and had an appetite for Greek again. A lunch buffet and a la carte were offered. Personally, I didn't find the buffet particularly appealing or appetizing. So I ordered breaded chicken schnitzel with a cream sauce. There was a small side salad with it. Conclusion: Taste was rather average and salad was presented very carelessly. Conclusion: it doesn't necessarily have to happen again!

I enjoyed going there for many years. Despite changes in owners or staff. A few weeks ago we had the feeling that we were disturbing the staff when they were smoking and playing. The warmth shown early on was gone. But yesterday was awesome. At around 12:45 p.m. I entered the restaurant with two friends. 2 employees sat at the table and looked at their cell phones. NO other guests. We should sit in the narrow niche at the front. But we preferred a larger table by the window. That wouldn't work, it was a table for 6 people. When I asked, it was actually explained to us that there might still be a lot of guests coming. Of course we didn't want to take their seats away and went to another restaurant. No wonder more and more restaurants are closing. Really a shame

The food from the buffet was disappointing except for the gyros. A lot of things seemed warmed up (liver tough, noodles mushy...). The a la carte food was better, but not a revelation. The starter salad was pretty puny and the meat/rice ratio for the main subjects was also very skewed towards rice. If you like a “classic Greek”, you will find something better in Halle. It was very busy this evening and the waiter apologized several times that it took so long (personally it didn't seem that long to me). When our food came, I was extremely excited. I had the chicken breast fillet in Metaxa sauce and Cretan potatoes and I haven't eaten anywhere before. Thank you for the very tasty food and the friendly service. We'd love to come back. P.S. Most importantly, they had a card with correct allergens, which is very important for my gluten intolerant significant other!

Well located restaurant in Halle. The food the food is basically good tasty warm as you can guess. Unfortunately, the starter plate falls a bit short compared to other Greeks. We were here today for the first and certainly the last time. The service was quick and ok, but the food was okay. The salad for the main course was a tablespoon of white cabbage with half a slice of tomato, a slice of cucumber and a pepperoni with a dollop of yogurt dressing. For the main course we had the lamb fillet Crete, which was three very thinly sliced ​​strips about 3 millimeters and a few slices of potatoes for a whopping 26.90. So I think that's totally overpriced even with 19% VAT. When we said something, they explained that the meat had become so thin while frying😤😤 the farmer's salad for 9.90 was not appropriate for the price either. But we tried 🥴🥴

La atención al cliente es excelente, talves para compensar la calidad de la comida. Pedimos platos a la carta, cuando fuimos al baño y pasamos junto al bufé, lo que había ordenado mi pareja a la carta, también lo ofrecian en el bufé. En relación al sabor, nada extraordinario, me atrevería a decir que los sabores son aburridos. El lugar es agradable con un muy cordial servicio, pero no recomiendo los platos a la carta.
