Taverna Kastoria in Halle (Saale)

Unfortunately, this restaurant is no longer there. What a shame. 😢 We celebrated my husband's 65th birthday there. It was lovely.

After the change of ownership, we were curious to see what to expect. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. 1:45 hours after ordering, the food finally arrived at a moderate temperature, lukewarm. To top it all off, the bill was incorrect: food we hadn't ordered, with the wrong price on the receipt. We complained, and they settled the matter. The staff were overwhelmed; this shouldn't happen, even if the restaurant was quite busy. Unfortunately, it's not like it was under the previous owner.

This was the last time the restaurant was closed for health reasons. Unfortunately

A lot has changed for the better here in recent years. With a lot of love and hard work, they've earned their guests, and now an era is coming to an end. Unfortunately!! I hope the successor can continue this tradition. Good luck.

You come as a stranger and leave as a friend! This is the impression that the very customer-oriented service employee conveys! In Kastoria people are on first name terms - like in Greece. The food tasted very good and the portions were generous. The Greek white wine "Ionos" was very tasty. We'd love to come back!!!

Had dinner at Taverna Kastoria today. The food was very tasty and the service was super friendly. We really enjoyed it and would love to come back.

We were very happy with the food, it was tasteful, good looking and plentiful. The service person (blond hair) was extremely friendly and should receive more respect from her boss. You don't have to say a word about the boss here... bottom drawer is her behavior towards her guests/employees. The coziness of the atmosphere could still be improved a bit, but the good food and service make up for it.

Food was excellent. We didn't manage to eat for the first time at the Greek restaurant 😭. But it wasn't a problem, it was packed for us. We will take a look there again. The outdoor terrace takes some getting used to, but it is also a sports restaurant.

We ordered food and took it home. First class service and friendliness, absolutely warm. The transaction went smoothly to the minute despite a large celebration in the hall next door. All the guests at home were full and absolutely happy and satisfied with the food! We will definitely order again!

Super tasty food, attentive, fast and very friendly service, very familiar atmosphere, good portions and prices. I was passing through and just googled briefly and then decided on this. It is a clubhouse and very inconspicuous from the outside with the barred windows. Inside, however, completely different. Nice atmosphere, great food, everything was great. Gladly again!

Restaurant operations are very good on a daily basis, and the food is also excellent. Not recommended for Christmas and New Year's Eve. 1 p.m. unfortunately no more fries, food (buffet) cold. Unfortunately there was no announcement that a table for 7 people would be in the hall with a buffet. Price therefore not acceptable, unfortunately.

Another perfect meal. Everyone is very humorous and child-friendly...the chef is always up for a joke.

Der Anlass des Besuches war ja eher traurig, aber der Empfang in einem wunderschön dem Trauerthema in hervorragendem Rahmen angepassten Dekor. Die Ideen waren emotional und ausgefallen. Es verdient ein dickes Lob und herzlichen Dank. Das Essen war auch sehr gut durchdacht und für alle Geschmäcker etwas dabei. Der lockere verständnisvolle Umgang mit den Gästen lenkte vom traurigen Anlass schön ab. Der Koch war voller Ideen und kreierte für eine junge Frau, die unter Zöliakie leidet, auf die Schnelle einen liebevollen Extrateller. 👍👍👍Sehr zu empfehlen !!

Das Personal ist beim Oktoberfestabend völlig überfordert, über 2 Stunden auf das Essen gewartet und dann noch falsch geliefert, war dann auch nicht mehr ganz warm. Die Kühlung beim Bier hat ebenfalls versagt warmes Bier geht gar nicht. Das Personal ist nett und versuchte alles um die Stimmung zu halten. Die Musik war das Beste, Diemitzer Spritzenhaus Combo, einfach klasse Stimmung gemacht.

Absolut super Lokal, würde ich jedem wärmstens empfehlen. Ich war absolut begeistert. Das Essen war einfach Super lecker. Der Service war auch hervorragend. 5* von mir. Absolut verdient.

Das Essen ist hier seit Jahren sehr sehr gut. Einer der besten Griechen in der Region. Man merkt, dass viele Dinge frisch und selbstgemacht sind, was nicht mehr bei vielen griech. Restaurants der Fall ist. Zum Beispiel die Soutzoukakia oder das Gyros - sehr sehr zu empfehlen. Der Nachteil hieran sind die teils etwas längeren Wartezeiten. Darauf muss man sich eben einrichten, wenn das Essen nicht nur aufgetaut wird. Das Ambiente wurde schon hinreichend beschrieben, ein früheres Sportlerheim was im Rahmen der Möglichkeiten griechisch dekoriert wurde. Aber gerade dann sollte man nicht für unalkoholische Getränke astronomische Preise (6,20 EUR für 0,5 Cola/Fanta/etc.) verlangen. 4,50 EUR für ein großes Bier sind dagegen ein richtiger Schnapper. Das Verhältnis passt leider nicht. Die Essenspreise sind für die Qualität und Größen normal. Zum Abschluss leider keine Ouzo und Honigbällchen mehr. Wenn man in einer größeren Truppe ordentlich Geld lässt, war das sonst ein guter Abschluss. Fazit: Essen immer noch top top top. Die Randbedingungen und Service haben leider etwas nachgelassen.

Essen war lecker. Bedienung war sehr nett. Aber von außen ist es ein in die Jahre gekommenes Sportlerheim und innen erinnert das Ambiente an Ende 90er Anfang 2000er. Und deswegen kann man auf keinen Fall 6,20€ für eine 0,5l Cola verlangen! Nichtmal in München zahle ich so viel für ein großes Getränk. Hier sollte dringend etwas an der Preispolitik geändert werden. Auch finde ich es schade, dass man direkt Schnaps auf den Tisch gestellt bekommt. Es gibt genug Menschen die keinen Alkohol trinken. Nach dem Essen fragen, ob noch jemand einen Schnaps möchte würde ich persönlich bevorzugen.

Wir waren vor ein paar Tagen kurz entschlossen im "Kastoria-Grill" essen. Im Nachhinein ist uns auch klar, warum außen keine Speisekarte zu sehen ist. Der erste Eindruck, die Bedienung war "aufdringlich" freundlich. Der zweite Eindruck, wir fanden es unverschämt teuer, insbesondere die Getränke. Unser Essen wurde in einer Soße, die als Metaxa-Soße in der Karte stand, ertränkt. Kurz bevor unser Essen kam, hörten wir das "Bing" einer Microwelle. Die Preise für die Getränke hatten etwas von einem 5*-Restaurant, obwohl wir "nur" in einer Sportlerkneipe waren. Unser Fazit, das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt nicht. Einen weiteren Besuch von uns wird es dort nicht geben.

Liebe Grüße von den Schwerinern gestern unverhofft kamen wir zu euch ,wir waren von außen erst schokiert und von innen waren wir total begeistert ,der Flair,das Essen Geschmack,die Bedienung der Koch alles war fantastisch gut ,der beste griechische Gaststätte die wir kennen lernen durften . Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist super und so ein gutes Angebot. Wenn der Weg nicht so weit wäre würden wir öfter kommen.

Es ist der beste Grieche in dem ich je war, es ist auf jeden fall einen Besuch wert. Super Personal und eine hammer gute Küche. Nochmals ein riesen Lob an den Koch!
