We were there for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. The wait for the food wasn't too long. The dishes were tasty and the portions were ok. The grill plate was manageable. Every now and then someone would come by and ask if everything was OK, if the food was tasty or if we needed anything else. It seemed real and not fake. The only flaw is that the chairs were past their good times. These urgently need to be replaced. It gives the overall look cracks and doesn't have to be that way. We felt comfortable and would definitely like to come back!

Bodenständiges, freundliches griechisches Lokal, für den man gerne in diesen Kiez kommt. Gute Auswahl der typischen, gemischten Vorspeisen, röstaromatischer Grillgerichte und kühler Getränke, sogar gezapftes Griechisches... Ouzo bereitete Freude.

Very tasty food, friendly staff, again and again!

Delicious, and I'm pleased that the new operator has maintained not only the quality of the food, but also the seniors' menu, albeit reduced in size. It's now cleverly called "Small Portions" so that everyone dares to order it. The obligatory ouzo is still available.

It was a really great evening at Taverna Hellas. The waiters were very friendly and really super nice! We were allowed to choose our seat and despite the beautiful outdoor area, we chose indoors. We needed some time to decide, but all pressure was taken away from us and we were able to choose everything in peace. We were even offered to recommend something, but we didn't need that. We took advantage of the offer to replace individual components. The wait for the food wasn't too long, just right. The food was tasty and the portions were very filling. Every now and then someone would come by and ask whether everything was OK, whether the food was tasty or whether we needed anything else. It seemed very genuine and not fake, it wasn't annoying, just really good service! All in all, we felt extremely comfortable and would love to come back! The two of us say thank you. 😀

The Greek restaurant “Taverna Hellas” in Berlin Wilmersdorf is located in a quiet and green area. It is also possible to dine outside. The outdoor seating is shielded from the view of passers-by by a hedge, ensuring privacy. An extendable awning protects against both the sun and rain (see photo). Today was our third visit to this dining establishment. Although there has been a change of ownership, the quality of the food is still excellent. The service is polite and professional.

Since the new operator took over, the quality and size of the food has declined significantly. Beforehand there was a good starter salad and crusty bread. Now the salad is irrelevant and the bread is a cheap baked baguette. Lamb was previously legendary, now no longer recommended. The new boss is very friendly, but that doesn't make the food any better. From great unfortunately a descent to below average. That's really a pity.

The food was good, the service was very friendly, only the allergens on the menu need to be revised, which will become clear at the latest when Pepsi Light has no sweeteners according to the menu.

The worst greek gyros I’ve ever had in my life: burned meat, the worst tzatziki souce etc. Such a thing like Greek hospitality doesn’t exist in this restaurant. The prices are super high for what it is. Maybe someone who have never been in Greece might think it’s good, but it’s actually not. Shame

Today, after a long time, I treated myself to a gyros from the lunch menu. The portion was significantly smaller than usual. The restaurant probably has a new owner. Then the price of a small Coke; €3.40. Are you crazy !! It's a shame, another good restaurant less.😔

Here they had the best lamb chops & other Greek delicacies in Berlin. They had rightly won a Gastronomy Award. Now there is a new management that all the stars of yesteryear still have to fight for.

Nachtrag 11.01.2024: Taverna Hellas hat echt versucht, meinen Kommentar als Fake bei Google anzuzeigen - "es gab keine keine Geschäftsbeziehung". Tja, blöd gelaufen. Meine Google-Zeitachse und mein Kreditkartenauszug beweisen das Gegenteil... 25.06.2022: Ewig auf Essen warten, Kelllner wird frech und ausfallend, Kellner droht nach der Vorspeise die Rechnung zu bringen - ohne die Hauptspeisen zu bringen, nur weil man sich beschwert, dass man 1 Stunde auf Hauptgang wartet. (Besucher die mit uns kamen oder später, hatten bereits ihren Hauptgang) Hauptgänge kamen dann nicht zusammen. Die Calamari war aus der TK. Das ist das erste Mal, dass ich nach dem Essen beim Griechen noch hungrig war. Antwort zum Kommentar aus dem Restaurant: Gepöbelt hat nur einer - der Kellner. "Nach Berlin kommen", tja am Tisch saßen waschechte Berliner, und die lassen sich ausfallende griechische Kellner (wer ist jetzt nach Berlin gekommen ???) nicht gefallen. Erst recht nicht Sprüche wie "Man solle in sein Dorf zurückkehren". / "Deine Bewertung interessiert mich nicht." Fazit: schlechtes Essen, ewiges Warten, unterirdisches Personal. Hinweis für potenzielle Gäste: Einfach mal die anderen Kommentare anschauen (haben wir leider erst nach dem Besuch gemacht)

Super leckeres Essen von den Tagesangeboten über die Mittagsgerichte bis zu den Spezialitäten. Stets freundlicher Service. Schönes Ambiente und im Sommer sitzen wir so gerne draußen überdacht im Schatten.

Hier ist ein kleines Stückchen Griechenland vom Himmel gefallen. :) - Danke für das leckere Essen und die warme Gastfreundschaft in äußerst gemütlichen Atmosphäre. :)

Essen war sehr lecker. Im Außenbereich sitzt man auch recht angenehm. Das Personal war aber nur bedingt freundlich und mitunter auch frech. Der Grund dafür war ein Sonderwunsch, der uns verwehrt wurde. Leider passt dieses Verhalten zu einigen anderen Rezensionen, die ich leider erst nachher gelesen hatte. Zum Hintergrund: Auf der Karte gibt es Gerichte mit Pommes, auch wenn viele Gerichte - durchaus lobenswert - mit Kartoffeln und Bohnen serviert werden. Wir waren zu fünft und 4 davon bestellten Hauptspeisen. Eine Person wollte gerne nur eine Portion Pommes und Brot. Brot war okay, weil auf der Karte. Die einzelne Portion Pommes wurde abgelehnt. Diese gäbe es nur mit einer Hauptspeise. Und wenn dort jemand Pommes statt der Standardbeilage wünscht, dann ist es kein Problem. Aber eben nicht einzeln. Wir hatten 4 Hauptspeisen. Wo ist das Problem? Wenn da jetzt einer die Beilage nicht mag, müssten sie ja auch Pommes machen. Wir nahmen es zähneknirschend hin. Am Tisch sorgte das natürlich für Diskussionen, die der Kellner bemerkte und uns ansprach, ob etwas unklar sei - bis dahin eigentlich recht aufmerksam. Als wir dann anmerkten, dass wir nur gerne eine Portion Pommes gehabt hätten und deswegen diskutierten, wurde der Kellner ungehalten. Er hielt uns einen Vortrag, wie teuer es wäre für eine Portion Pommes die Friteuse mit dem vielen Fett aufzuheizen. Das ginge am Samstag Abend gar nicht. Und für eine Portion Pommes könnten wir auch zum Imbiss um die Ecke gehen. Im nachhinein betrachtet, ist das eine sehr freche Aussage. Immerhin waren 4 Vollzahler am Tisch und die fünfte Person wollte eine Beilage einzeln haben, die bei vielen Griechen in Deutschland sehr üblich ist. Wenn sie hier wenig Pommes zubereiten, hätte man ja ein alternatives Angebot machen können, z.B. Kartoffeln und Grüne Bohnen, wie sie bei den Gerichten dabei ist. Das wäre sicher gut angekommen. Aber nein, so blieb es bei der Situation, die danach auch nicht besser wurde. Man servierte zügig das Essen. Dieses war wirklich gut. Aber niemand fragte uns kurz danach, ob es schmecken würde oder wir noch etwas bräuchten - wie es in so ziemlich jedem Restaurant auf der Welt üblich ist. Auch beim Abräumen keine Frage, ob es geschmeckt hätte. Eine Person betonte noch, dass es lecker gewesen sei, was den Kellner aber nicht sonderlich interessierte. Auf Nachfrage kam dann wortlos die Rechnung. Erwartet hätte wir eine Frage danach, wie wir denn bezahlen wollten oder ob getrennt oder zusammen. Ob des guten Essens gaben wir trotzdem Trinkgeld, was aber wenig honoriert wurde. Einen Ouzo oder ähnliches auf das Haus gab es leider auch nicht. Damit hätte man den Abend versöhnlich ausklingen lassen können, so dass wir mit einem guten Gefühl gegangen wären. Also durchweg ein enttäuschender Service was die Freundlichkeit und Gastlichkeit angeht. Wir fühlten uns als Gast nicht sonderlich Wert geschätzt. Schade eigentlich, da Essen und Ort durchaus Potential hätten. Wir kommen jedenfalls nicht wieder.

Wir haben draussen gesessen, war sehr angenehm. Was wirklich auffällig war, war der ausgezeichnete Service. Alle sehr freundlich zuvorkommend und aufmerksam! Weiter so!

Ich hätte es besser wissen müssen, die Griechen können keine Garnele machen. Und dazu eine Weinsosse, was eher wie Ketchup aussieht und Brot. Dafür dann 20 Euro zu verlangen ist nicht in Ordnung.

On the last day of my visit to Berlin, my friend took me to dinner at this nice little restaurant located on a quiet street in her neighborhood. It was such a beautiful evening we decided to sit on the street side patio. There is also lots of seating inside. Our server was the the owner of Taverna Hellas and accommodated me with an English menu. I chose to have the Souvlaki - 2 grilled pork skewers with rice, baked potatoes and tzatziki. The pork was grilled to perfection and very tender. The tzatziki has a perfect blend of ingredients that was a nice compliment with the pork. The accompanying rice and potatoes were also cooked well and tasted delicious. My friend enjoyed the Tiropita - Puff pastry with sheep's cheese filling and Mikri Salata - a small side salad. The pastry had just the right amount of crunch and the sheep's cheese filling was full of flavors and not bland. The experience was delightful and the owner was very attentive even with a patio full of diners. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the Güntzelkiez neighborhood. (May 18, 2022)

Von der Ausstattung her ein sehr schönes Restaurant. Ich hatte eine Lammhaxe, die für mein Verhältnis etwas zu trocken war. Über Geschmack lässt sich streiten. Werde beim nächsten Mal etwas anderes ausprobieren. Ansonsten klare Ortempfehlung.

Das Essen ist so lala, die Moussaka schmeckt alt, der Krautsalat dazu hat weder Essig noch Öl gesehen, auch Salz und Pfeffer waren noch nicht da. Das war letzte Woche. Was allerdings gar nicht geht, ist, die potenzielle Kundschaft vor dem Laden anzumachen. Ich war mit meinem Hund unterwegs, der sich schon gelöst hatte, da ruft mir der freche Mensch hinterher, ich solle meinen Hund anderswo pinkeln lassen. Die existierende Lache war von einem großen Hund, die ml passen in meinen gar nicht rein. Der Mensch regte sich furchtbar auf, vermutlich mag er keine Hunde, und auf mein Betreuern, meiner war es nicht, betitelte er mich dann als dumme Kuh. Ich könnte ihn anzeigen ob der Beleidigung. Nie wieder setze ich da einen Fuß rein. Sowas von unangehm, das geht gar nicht

Sehr aufmerksame, freundliche Bedienung, ein sehr gutes Moussaka, ich liebe es. Die Tische draußen werden immer sofort abgewischt, wenn Gäste gegangen sind, was eigentlich überall selbstverständlich sein sollte. Bin wirklich ausgesprochen gerne hier und komme auch wieder.

Das Essen war ok, das stimmt, Personal wirkt reserviert, teils angespannt, oder genervt, desinteressiert. Nach dem moto: "friss oder stirb". Keine Aschied.Etwas Freundlichkeit ist noch zu wünschen.
