Taverna Delphi in Landshut

I used to really enjoy eating here, but unfortunately, the restaurant has declined significantly recently. The quality of the food is no longer up to the standard you'd expect for the prices – the dishes often taste poorly prepared, and some dishes arrived lukewarm or even incorrectly. Apparently, the gyro was out of stock, and all the guests had to reorder. In the end, though, the gyro arrived as ordered. The service was also rather mediocre: friendly, but not particularly attentive or well-organized. In addition, there were sometimes very long waits in the kitchen, and the overall process seemed rather disorganized. For the prices charged here, the overall package is unfortunately no longer up to scratch. It's a real shame – I hope things improve, because the potential is definitely there.

I was disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. The place seems unkempt, and the courtyard is far too small for the many tables, making the atmosphere unpleasant. The food isn't worth the money, and the fries were very greasy. What was particularly disturbing was that the ketchup we were given had been expired for a year and a half. The value for money is completely out of date, especially considering the low prices. Furthermore, the women's restroom was dirty and very old, which doesn't make a good impression. The best thing was the servers, who were very friendly and accommodating. I still can't recommend the restaurant.

Great food and a fantastic location, but I personally find it a bit rude that you're basically "kicked out" after 1.5 hours because the outdoor table is already reserved for other guests after 7 p.m. Not to mention: A RUDE! What good is a reservation if we have to pay on time and leave? Sorry, not sorry. But that has nothing to do with Greek hospitality. Even if it's only in Landshut, instead of Greece or Crete.

We were there for dinner with 8 people. The quality of the food was okay but the portions were too small. The staff was friendly but unwilling to increase the temperature by closing the windows or doors, even though we were all sitting there with jackets at the beginning. Only when we took it into our own hands did it become pleasant. The ambience is like an average Greek restaurant. Well maintained but nothing special. All in all, a solid average. It's good to go there for a meal, but it's not an outstanding experience. For my part, I think the average rating of 4.6 stars is exaggerated, but it's by no means bad.

Food was great!!! Best Taramas I've eaten so far. Large portions and very, very nice service. And not this typical white and blue wall picture with columns! 😄

Tasted good, but slapped onto the plate rather carelessly in places. Relatively expensive for the portion size. I won't be visiting the restaurant again because I think it's an absolute disgrace when the waiter laughs at you because you ask to leave out the onion. I am highly allergic, which I have emphasized.

A location where it is very narrow and loud. You have to like it, but actually it should be the same with a Greek. Although the bear is always there, the food and service are top! Reservation essential.

Update December 2024: All's well that ends well? In this case, yes - we were here again at the end of December 2024 and what can I say - work has really been done on the points that I criticized. This time it was much quicker, there were enough gyros (purchasing was optimized) and there was also mayonnaise with the fries this time ;-) The taste/quality was still very good! So it is and remains our favorite Greek! Update experiences from 2024: The staff and the owner family remain nice and friendly as ever. The restaurant has lost none of its charm. However, we are now less satisfied with the food and the pricing. We visited here twice this year - to our favorite Greek restaurant. The first time we had to wait a whopping 90 minutes for our gyros - only to receive fatty, non-crispy meat. Disappointment number 1. Today, on the occasion of my wife's birthday, we ate there for the second time this year. Unfortunately, when we took our order we were told to please order something other than gyros because they didn't have that much left. What? Prime time Sunday evening the Greek doesn't have any gyros? Fries instead of rice cost extra and make the now steep prices even more expensive. Mayo with the fries? We don't have it anymore! Oh well. Now I really have to say that we know better Greeks. Too bad! Because the staff, as I said, were nice and hard-working as always. But at almost €20 for a portion of gyros, I'll say no thanks in the future. Original review from 2017: Definitely the best Greek in the area! The gyros are to die for, that's how Greek food has to be! There is always an ouzo on the house with the bill. The employees are extremely friendly. A clear recommendation!

Because of the positive reviews here, we decided to eat here too. Unfortunately it was the first and last time! Due to the increased price, I thought there would be nothing to complain about, but unfortunately the gyros were burnt, dry and slightly salty or over-seasoned. The operation and service was rather unfriendly. We sat in the “pseudo” beer garden. I'm kind of surprised that there was still so much going on! Maybe the restaurant had a bad day, but next time I'd rather spend my hard-earned money at another Greek restaurant where I feel comfortable and the food tastes good! We would have liked to have stayed there longer, for 1,2,3 more drinks, but in the end we were happy when we left the restaurant. It had a bit of a “mass processing” feel to it.

Unfortunately totally disappointed. We had 2 starters, 3 main courses and 3 drinks. The good thing: it was warm because there were 3 pyramid heaters on and the drinks were fine. Unfortunately, everyone's food wasn't optimal. Gyros dry and partly banished, and almost too salty. Calamari were tasteless and hard. The rice was nothing special. Unfortunately that wasn't for us. The restaurant and the temporarily covered beer garden were actually well attended. Service was quick, probably to process things quickly, but not friendly. Maybe you're not allowed to laugh here. In response to the information that the gyro was very dry, there wasn't even an apology or anything like that. Maybe that was just us. But we'd rather go to another Greek place.

A small and fine idyll with excellent food. We have often strolled past Taverna Delphi and each time we decided to eat there. Now we have done it and have another restaurant that is one of our top restaurants in Landshut. The reception, the food and the ambience, what can I say... simply outstanding.

Delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere

In this taverna you have the feeling of having arrived directly in Greece! The ambience goes perfectly with the food and the menu is constantly being recreated. There are delicious recommendations on blackboards and the boss always has a suitable wine in stock. Authentic recipes, seasoned down to the smallest detail! The idea of ​​conjuring up small portions for the middle of the table and creating a little piece of authentic Greek lifestyle is great! The large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes invites you to feast and leaves nothing to be desired!

Once was the best Greek restaurant in Landshut! The price/performance ratio used to be great, but now the kitchen leaves a lot to be desired. Lukewarm grilled fish, clearly overcooked bifteki and pita bread drowned in oil are not our favorites. And 5 people crammed around an overcrowded table is also not ideal. This proves itself true: less is often more - and: Schuster stick to your lasts. It's a shame that it's not like it used to be.

The starters were very tasty. Gyros in metaxa sauce wasn't great (sauce was too thin and meat was tough, the taste wasn't that special either, rather bland). The tzatziki was the worst thing I've ever eaten anywhere (it tasted like a finished product) It's a shame, it was our wedding anniversary and we were extremely disappointed 😞 However, the service was very good

The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. The food is very tasty. In the end we had a little problem with the bill as there were 3 drinks left that we hadn't consumed. The waiter seemed a bit confused, but understood and returned the additional amount paid. We will definitely come back.

The map is clear and diverse. The Greek is easily accessible by public transport and there are parking spaces nearby. If you love good food and want to be welcomed as a guest by a host, this is the right place for you.

The Delphi tavern is a real insider tip! No matter what time of day you visit the restaurant, it is always busy. It's particularly great here on trade fair Thursdays because you have the opportunity to try everything out. The restaurant not only offers a cozy atmosphere, but also a beautiful beer garden that feels like a short vacation. The food is simply fantastic and invites you to enjoy Greek cuisine to the fullest. The staff is friendly and attentive, so you immediately feel at home. Nice atmosphere, service does its best. Eating relatively fatty foods, including salads. Serving could also be nicer, adding kilos of onions to salads or grilled/gyro dishes. Some of the fries were already cold. Well, I live better...

Vorab muss ich sagen, dass es mir wirklich schwer fällt, diese Bewertung zu schreiben. Die Taverna Delphi war über so so viele Jahre unser Lieblingsgrieche. Die Qualität war lange super, die Preise immer gehoben, aber ok für die Qualität. Leider hat die Qualität in den letzten Jahren nachgelassen. Die Preise jedoch sind deutlich gestiegen. Dennoch sind wir immer wieder zum Essen gekommen oder haben uns, wie heute, Essen abgeholt. Auch während der Lockdown-Zeit haben wir uns öfter als üblich Essen geholt. Einfach, um Dimitri in dieser schweren Zeit zu unterstützen. Aber heute waren wir so dermaßen enttäuscht: Dass für eine Umbestellung einer Beilage einen Euro kostet, finde ich total in Ordnung. Dass aber für beide Gerichte 1 Euro und für das Pita 0,50 Euro mehr berechnet wird als auf der Speisekarte "To go" steht, habe ich nicht verstanden. Wenn das mit der Verpackung begründet wird, akzeptiere ich das vielleicht auch noch. Aber dann so eine Qualität des Essens zu bekommen, da hört mein Verständnis auf! Schon immer bestelle ich Kalamari vom Grill...und ich liebe sie. Aber dieses Mal war es ein viel zu großer Haufen Gummiringe ohne jeglichen Geschmack. Bisher habe ich immer Kalamari samt "Füßchen" erhalten, noch nie sowas. Das Knoblauch-Pita triefte vor Fett. Es lief mir aus der Tüte entgegen. Keine Olive mehr auf dem Zaziki. Den 2. Stern habe ich vergeben, weil die Grillplatte Delphi ganz ok war bis auf das zu viele Fett. Wie gesagt, ich schreibe diese Bewertung nicht gerne. Aber wir sind einfach unglaublich enttäuscht und traurig, sowas bei unserem Lieblingsgriechen erleben zu müssen...für über 40 Euro.

Bester Grieche weit und breit! Der Service ist auch zu Stoßzeiten perfekt, Ambiente nicht so kitschig, wie bei anderen Griechen und das Essen und die Weine sind ein Traum und sehr authentisch. Alles sehr zu empfehlen, vor allem die tollen Vorspeisen

Super obsługa i naprawdę bardzo smaczna kuchnia oraz duże porcje

Wir gehen schon viele Jahre ins Delphi zum Essen, aber die Qualität hat stark nachgelassen. Wir waren am Samstag da beim Essen und hatten unter anderem auch Bifteki. So etwas hatten wir noch nie gegessen, die Farbe war halb gelb, halb grün und die Konsistenz vergleichbar mit Wollwürsten. Auch hatten die Bifteki dem Anschein nach keine Pfanne und auch kein Feuer gesehen und genauso hatten sie auch geschmeckt. Auch die Souvlaki waren geschmacklos und hatten vermutlich keinen Grill gesehen, die waren fast weiß. Die ganze Nacht hat sich dann der Magen gemeldet, was uns nicht gewundert hat. Wir wissen sicher, dass wir ins Delphi nicht mehr gehen.

Essen gut,Allerdings stinkt man anschließend nach Fett und Küche, so dass man seine Klamotten waschen muss! Deshalb gehen wir nicht mehr hin. Kreditkartengerät hat auch nicht funktioniert….

Sehr leckeres griechisches Essen. Sehr freundliches Personal und die Küche ist wirklich sehr flott. Hochwertige und edle Einrichtung. Auch die Tellersprache ist im Vergleich zu anderen Griechen echt toll. Wen man in Landshut einen guten Griechen besuchen möchte führt kein Weg an Taverna Delphi vorbei.

Wir haben bereits zum dritten Mal innerhalb weniger Wochen bei Delphi zum Abholen bestellt. Jedesmal waren die Gerichte hervorragend. Trotz Abholung ist das Essen zu Hause noch knackig (Salat) und warm (Gyros & Calamari). Auch Sonderwünsche wurden gerne erfüllt (Pommes anstatt Reis). Wir werden definitiv wieder bestellen!
