Restaurant Sokrates in Landshut

I went there with a friend for a dinner and had a wonderful time! The atmosphere so pleasant, the service warm and trustworthy, the food magnificent. We had a perfect dry white wine with food. I also need to mention our wonderful waiter Janez (I hope I spelled it right).

I'm writing another review because the restaurant has requested that my review be removed for defamation. There is no defamation; this was simply my experience. If the chef, the microwave, and the employees at Sokrates are under stress, that's not my fault. Perhaps the restaurant is trying to get rid of the bad reviews by filing a defamation strike on Google to get more 4+ reviews. I paid money, and the food at Sokrates was truly terrible. A restaurant with absolutely no integrity. If someone writes a bad review, they should first try to improve, and then they can always ask us to come back and check out the restaurant and write a better review. But that's what an adult would do, not you. My review again: Most of the things we order came cold and oily. I know Greek love oil, but I didn't ask for potatoes dipped in oil. Every 2 minutes someone was asking if everything was good? Ok one or two times but after the third time it's getting boring. The staff was running left and right for some reason. I guess the boss has asked them to move in the restaurant to look like there is movement but it's getting strange when you see it first hand.

We were at Socrates for the second time within a week and it was unique again. The food was super good, the service was excellent and the friendliness was excellent. You definitely gained 2 new regular guests!😁

Yesterday we had a birthday party with 20 people in the new, beautifully designed rooms. Perfect meal. Super friendly service. We were able to bring our own cakes. Our stay was really nice. Many thanks to the service and kitchen

Super delicious food. We had lamb shank, a Paros plate with very tasty gyros and a huge portion of baklava for dessert.

We are now satisfied regular guests and have been there countless times. The food was excellent across the board and the people were super friendly and very attentive. What more could you want? :-) Update: after numerous visits, it's now my favorite Greek place in LA. A real insider tip are the pork medallions in orange sauce or the dishes with Metaxa sauce. Update 2: The extension, which now has direct access to the outside area, has become really beautiful.

Basically okay. The chicken breast fillet was a little too salty, unfortunately there were no vegetable side dishes (it doesn't say otherwise on the menu), but the mustard sauce was good. The salmon fillet was also a bit too salty and unfortunately a bit burnt. At the end we were asked if we would like some more ouzo, but it was never brought. In terms of taste and ambience, it doesn't come close to the gold standard in the old town.

Food was very tasty, we didn't have to wait long, service was very friendly and competent. I definitely recommend it. The team also handles larger groups perfectly.

Great food at a reasonable price. Very attentive, courteous service. The desert with a hair on it was returned without any problems, the replacement arrived promptly and in a good mood. The ambience only manages 4 stars because it gets very loud when the tables are all occupied. Nevertheless: clear recommendation!

Was here today for the first time with my partner. As soon as we entered we were greeted very warmly. The ambience has charm, everything is nice and clean, you immediately feel at home and in good hands. The service was really very courteous, very friendly and quick! There was an ouzu on the house straight away. We both had gyros with side dishes. It had a very good taste and was well cooked, just as it should be. When I ordered extra tzatziki, it was also on the house. At the end we also got an espresso. We were really very satisfied! Thank you for the great evening! Keep it up!

We spontaneously went to Socrates today and are thrilled! Nice, quick service, excellent food, absolutely perfect price-performance ratio! Aaaand: finally a portion size that fills you up! I really don't want to badmouth the rest of Landshut's Greeks or Greek restaurants, but from today on this is my favorite Greek place!

I had store-bought dolmades drowned in ready-made hollandaise and over-salted bifteki, served with a dollop of lukewarm rice. However, the beer was good, so 2 stars are sufficient.

We've eaten here several times but today I would like to give zero stars. Service more than bad. Drinks waited a long time, starter waited 1 hour, main course waited another hour and since we had the main course there was no waiter at the table. The empty plates have been there for half an hour and the empty glasses are of no interest either. Side dishes that were ordered also had to be reminded because they were forgotten.

Were there for the fourth time now. Always delicious food, great service, very attentive waiters. Absolute recommendation.

Erst einmal sitzt man draussen absolut klasse. Fast direkt an der Isar und dazu viel Fußverkehr. Wenn man will gibt es hier viel zu sehen. Außerdem fehlt zum Glück der Verkehrslärm. Das Essen ist absolut in Ordnung. Der Service auch absolut in Ordnung. Alles in allem eine gute Essens-Erfahrung.

Der Bauernsalat bestand aus Tomaten und Gurken bzw. "schwamm" das Pita-Brot in Fett!! Das kann man definitiv nicht essen oder sich selber besser daheim machen!!! ...und ist überteuert!! Es gibt bessere Griechen in Landshut, also dahin...

Nice restaurant at the front of the Maxwehr. We liked it better inside than outside because there were insects under the umbrellas that got our clothes dirty. Food is okay, relatively cheap, maybe use a little less oil.

Service is outstanding! Very accommodating, but not intrusive either. I had number 80 (I can't remember the name... meat skewer, rice, gyros and minced meat thingy), very large portion and really excellent taste. Price/performance fits perfectly. Conclusion: Anytime again!!!!

We were there this afternoon and everything was perfect. The salmon fillet at its finest. First of all there was an ouzo and after the meal you were asked if you wanted something on the house. And that with a lunch menu. The staff were very friendly and unobtrusive. We will be back!

The service and food was outstanding! At the beginning I wasn't so happy with my grilled calamari because some of it was burnt black, but after we mentioned it to the waiter, the owner immediately came to us and apologized and ended up packing us a completely new portion and given it was perfect. There was also an espresso on the house. We have been here several times and it is highly recommended! Socrates has been our favorite Greek for years. And the service there is simply very courteous and despite the restaurant being full, we didn't have to wait long for our food. 100 percent recommendation.

My friend Shermae introduced me to this restaurant. It was new to me, although l learned from her that it has been existing for a few years now. Super tasty food, super fast service, and super friendly staff. It was a perfect early dinner for us. This is only underrated. Hope more people will write a review. They deserve it. Truly an outstanding Greek! Although it is really delicious here, a reservation has never been necessary. This is probably the only Greek where you can spontaneously go for a meal without worrying.

We are thrilled with this restaurant by far the best Greek where we have eaten in a long time. The staff is friendly, nice and always attentive, there were no complaints during our visit. I can fully recommend this restaurant, we will definitely be back. The portions have shrunk a lot since our first visit, only the prices have remained the same.

Somehow the Greeks used to have fresh salad with cucumber and tomatoes with a typical Greek dressing with olive oil and also a few olives in the salad... there was also vinegar and oil at the table so that you could add more seasoning if you wanted. And as a side dish there was also a large portion of tzatziki - I know this so well because I love it so much. Unfortunately, today you have the feeling that the prices are only getting higher... such a shame

Went to dinner at Socrates yesterday on Friday. Had a table reserved for 6:30 p.m. for 3 people. We arrived a little earlier, when we said we were there earlier, the waiter said yes, we were there 20 minutes early, our table and the area were still completely free. The main course was the baked mushrooms with fries and the Corfu platter with a small side dish of salad and bread. When it came to the mushrooms, it was a shame that only canned mushrooms were used and not fresh ones; the sauce was rather tasteless. The Corfu platter was beautifully prepared, the gyros were well seasoned and crispy, the calamari was also grilled, the Suflaki skewer was very juicy, something you rarely experience at a Greek restaurant. What bothered me a bit about the meat was the very strong grilled taste. You have to like it. Unfortunately the portion was just too small for this price. The service was quite quick at the beginning, but this quickly deteriorated over time. The more guests came, the more you were completely ignored. In between, no one asked whether everything fit or tasted good, let alone asked whether there was anything else to drink. The service was very unstructured and poorly organized and seemed stressed. We had to ask 3 times about the bill and payment, it took forever until someone came. I then went to the car with my daughter, my wife had to wait even longer to pay. At home we noticed that all the clothes smelled completely of fried food and fat, something I've never experienced with any Greek before. A solid Greek that still needs improvement in the service. If the restaurant's response to this review says that such things should be addressed on site, this was not possible yesterday with so many guests and stressed staff.

We had dishes from the lunch menu. The food was good, but also very clear. The grilled salmon in particular looked a bit lonely on the plate. However, we were still well fed. The atmosphere is nice, the service is very friendly and attentive. I can recommend the restaurant at any time.

Haben kurzfristig ohne Reservierung am Freitag Abend einen Tisch bekommen, die Getränke und das Essen kamen sehr schnell, der Service ist top. Das Essen war sehr lecker, wir kommen gerne wieder. Das einzige, was man meiner Meinung nach verbessern könnte, sind die 4 Eingänge. Ich würde 2 davon schließen, damit es etwas ruhiger ist und nicht ständig Menschen aus- & eingehen von allen 4 Ecken 😉.

Wir hatten dort einen tollen Abend. Das Essen war alles sehr frisch und lecker. Besonders zu empfehlen sind Meeresfrüchte aller Art und die Leber! Es war sehr voll aber das Essen kam zügig und der Service war absolut super! Die Preise waren für die Größe der Vorspeisenplatten waren etwas zu hoch, meiner Meinung nach, aber bei den Hauptgerichten wieder absolut gerechtfertigt.

Am 18.11 waren wir zu viert ( zwei Pärchen ) im Sokrates zum ersten Mal essen. Von einem griechischen Restaurant erhoffe ich mir schon authentisches leckeres Essen. Leider wurden wir sehr enttäuscht , die calamari vom grill waren in Öl getränkt, das Bifteki schmeckte verbrannt und der ( sehr geliebte ) Zaziki war nicht selbst gemacht ( so unser Eindruck ). Für 80€ zwei Personen ( 2 Vorspeisen und 2 Hauptspeisen ) mit Wasser / Spezi und Bier gibt es weitaus bessere Griechen in landshut. Leider war von vier Personen drei übel beim nach Hause gehen. Der Service lies auf sich warten … 3 mal wurde Wasser bestellt und es kam nicht. Wir können diesen Griechen leider nicht empfehlen. Die Kritik mag hart sein aber für 80€ erwarte ich / wir einfach mehr ! Sorry 🙈
