Actually delicious, but if you call and ask if you can come at 7 p.m. and get a yes and then no one opens the door, that's very bad. Please comment, maybe I'll change my review

Russian roulette while eating... it really feels like you're eating in a small village in Greece... everyone is very nice and friendly! BUT unfortunately you can be lucky or unlucky with the food! Don't expect professional cuisine! A bit wishy washy unfortunately my calamari weren't cooked properly and the meat was cold! Sorry!

Nice location, feels a bit like a real Greek Taverna. The food is acceptable, but it could be a lot better (to keep up with their prices, they have to offer tastier food).

We waited almost 30 minutes until we were noticed and given the menu. The glass drinking straw in the Aperol had deposits. Cutlery on the handle not clean. Menages totally dirty. The food (gyros) was great. Prices for Garden Colony Economy are expensive compared to restaurants in the city. No invoice. The items were added up on a pad, but we didn't get the piece of paper

Super nice staff were at Janni's on March 30, 24 with 7 people, great food like a Greek family. Chef is funny guy, really Greece. Keep it up!! Stayed with Jani again on July 19, 2024, as always, just great, with 6 people. If you're looking for Cici Miki, you've come to the wrong place. 6 stars from us

Really rustic Greek... like you're on vacation. All that's missing is the sea 🌊 It's best not to order a la carte, then Jani will bring plates... fair... everything your heart desires. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of the fish platter. Nobody gets up hungry. We've been to him twice now. Once 7 people and once 6. If you expect a chic miki Greek, you should leave it alone. Food great, hospitality great.

Very quiet location far from the streets and cars. You can eat very well. Fries with gyros and tzatziki are recommended👍. Very good Tucher from barrel and ouzo!

There were four of us. Of the four meals we ordered, one wrong meal was brought and one meal had to be returned. At this point there was only one other table occupied with guests besides our table. When there was a complaint, the waitress called the boss over. He was very unfriendly and told us that we could eat somewhere else. His unfriendliness can also be seen in his replies to negative comments.

Because of the good reviews, we tested the small, rather inconspicuous restaurant. Unfortunately we cannot share these in any way! The beer garden wasn't exactly inviting, we cleaned the chairs and tables ourselves (storm the day before)! Gyros pieces of meat that are way too big with a lot of fat, fries very crispy, onion rings oversized! When I indicated dissatisfaction, I only received a stroppy, very unfriendly response! And the price is not appropriate for a garden restaurant! I can't understand the good reviews since the new location has only existed since the beginning of June! Nobody sees us there anymore!

Unfriendly, food disgusting between fat and burnt, prices are a disgrace, all dishes almost 20 euros. After the complaint we were told we didn't need to come back to eat. We've never experienced anything like this before. You can forget all the reviews because Janni only opened here 4 weeks ago!

We call them by purpose to be day before to check if they open 1st of May, and we got positive answer. However, when we came owner told us they closed…. Don’t go there, looks like owner keep this place for them self only, to drink beer on the terrace…

We were four adults and one child, the boss recommended a colorful mixed platter for everyone, consisting of almost everything our hearts desired - fish, meat, salad and, first of all, a delicious starter plate! A small pasta dish for our son. All in all, a true dream - we've never eaten so well before, even in Greece. Individual, loving and authentic! Simply very brilliant! We are real fans now! The selection of Greek specialties is impressive and every dish is full of flavor and freshness. I was particularly impressed by Janni's hospitality and the warm atmosphere he creates. I can highly recommend Jani's Taverna and am already looking forward to my next visit!

In the fateful taverna near Janni, a journey back in time into the culinary abyss awaited me. Despite the many good reviews, I was confronted with an ambience that was a mixture of a dusty pub and a fried cloud around the lamps - a real treat for the senses! The friendly old gentleman at the service brought some charm to the group, but the food left a lot to be desired. My apple juice spritzer was garnished with the leftovers from my predecessor on the edge of the glass, while the main course, bifteki, turned out to be a meat cake with canned beans and was more reminiscent of a culinary emergency solution. Everything warmed up in the microwave – a true feast for the gourmet soul. The crowning glory: a proud price of 20 euros for this gastronomic adventure. But despite all my concerns, I left the taverna with a smile and the hope that the next guest would be better prepared. A food inspector should definitely put this place on their to-do list because who knows what else lurks in the depths of this kitchen!

The reception was warm. Service great. The salad was so delicious for a side salad it was crazy. The food from the 3 of us was so delicious. The Metaxa sauce is so fresh with vegetables. You can tell it was made with love. We're looking forward to the next time. Thank you that there are still such innkeepers with heart and soul. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

So... it's awesome... At first, well... But then... Janni asks what do you like to eat.. we eat everything.. A dream of tzatziki comes along... Then the starter was just brilliant... Well and then... Main course is amazing... From gyros to scampi, calamari... a poem... We'll go there again and munch on very good Greek cuisine with a very friendly owner... On Thursday we have fresh homemade moussaka...

On a Saturday, around 6 p.m. - The extremely friendly service and the generous boss, who prepares the food here himself with a lot of love and commitment, made up for the visually unappealing location. A spontaneous, very fun evening with good wine from the in-house vineyard. Thank you very much, we will definitely come back 👍

I can't understand the good reviews. I was here for a family celebration with around 22 people and that probably overwhelmed the service and organization. We were served the various courses on platters, but everything came without cutlery. That means we somehow got everything down with our forks. We were almost finished with the salad when the bread finally arrived. Some had pide, others had flatbread - neither of which was Greek. My feta in the puff pastry wasn't completely thawed (!), the gyros were hard, the fries were greasy and not even enough for one person, but there were five of us at the table. Other tables got additional courses - we didn't. 🙄🙈 There was no rice at all, the salad wasn't fresh and had no dressing, but was still soggy. Overall underground!! You could only eat the meat skewer. Addition: the restaurant's response is another negative point!! 😱 Absolutely cheeky. I'm just telling you how it was! And none of us at the table were thrilled.

From our point of view, the best Greek cuisine in Fürth and the surrounding area! Highly Recommended! We ate gyros with homemade fries and fresh salad. The gyro was perfect - crispy on the outside, juicy and soft on the inside. The tsataiki with it was to die for. We have rarely experienced so much warmth and hospitality in a restaurant. A clear recommendation for us - therefore full marks with *! We can't understand the "complaining faction's comments" at all - it's a shame that there are always dissatisfied people...

The restaurant “Taverna bei Janni” is not a typical Greek restaurant, but rather a cozy corner bar. The landlord is very friendly and the food is delicious. The portions are large and of course there is the obligatory ouzo afterwards. The generous fish platter for one or two people is highly recommended. Be sure to ask the landlord about current daily specials. All in all a cozy little tavern that I have enjoyed going to for years, even though I no longer live in Fürth. Clear 5 stars!

Sorry, failure! Food lukewarm, suflaki had nothing to do with the real Greek ones, gyros were just thin slices, I think the rest of the grill! I'm not quick to complain but for the price. A cheek, sorry, maybe it was the wrong time in the evening at 7 p.m.????

Went there for the first time and the gyro was raw. Suvlaki were chicken skewers from the discount store… really subpar… the portion was large but because the salad and everything was on one plate. Waiter overwhelmed… service was not good. We returned the full plates. Not even then was the question asked why and wherefore. Or we cleared our table ourselves 🙈 I personally don't understand the positive reviews either. 🤔

Unser Besuch ist schon eine Zeit her. Wir haben uns beeinflussen lassen durch die vielen positiven Bewertungen und sind mit Freunden hierher, ohne vorher das Lokal probiert zu haben. Man wird kumpelhaft empfangen und das Ganze wirkt etwas aufgesetzt. Das Essen war soweit ok, die Octopus-Arme sehr lecker. Der Wein eher unter dem Durchschnitt. Die Rechnung wurde am Ende gemeinsam händisch erstellt. Fürth hat wirklich ansprechende Gastronomie, auch und gerade griechische Küche. Hierher kommen wir nicht mehr.

Gastronomie dunkel und auch nicht gerade sauber pommes 🍟 werden vom wirt am Tresen per Hand geschnitten sehr appetitlich und die Platte für 2personen für 35€nicht zu empfehlen somit können wir sagen haben schon beim Griechen wesentlich besser gegessen nicht mal ein Ouzo gab es somit fazit Nie wieder da zum Essen

Gestern haben wir einen tollen Nachmittag in der Taverne bzw. im Außenbereich in der Sonne verbracht. Obwohl die Küche eigentlich bereits geschlossen hatte, hat uns der sehr freundliche und nette Wirt Janni auf Nachfrage noch eine gemischte Platte mit Gyros, Oktopus und Tintenfisch dazu Kartoffelecken und einen frischen Salat zubereitet. Das Essen war absolut lecker und qualitativ sehr hochwertig. Wir haben’s absolut Wohl gefühlt und werden ganz sicher wieder kommen! Wir haben uns gefühlt wie bei Freunden zu Gast zu sein.

Sieht schäbig aus, wie die Hinterhof Gaststätte, welche nur "Säufer" kennen. Sehr uhrig und dunkel... Jedoch super tolles Essen, sehr freundliche Bedienung. Der Besuch lohnt sich für das mega Essen!!! Info: Parkplätze in der Nähe nur für Anwohner!!!!

Vom aussehen ein eher einfach gehaltenes Restaurant/Taverne, aber geschmacklich wirklich top! Der Wirt ist Typisch Griechisch/ Mediterran Herzlich. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Meiner meinung nach gibt es keinen besseren Griechen in Fürth/Nbg und Umgebung. Danke :)
