Taverna Anti in München

Delicious food. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. A bit pricey, but definitely worth it. The interior is beautifully decorated, like a traditional Greek taverna. Highly recommended.

Quaint, cozy ambiance. Good wine selection. Starters and main courses were fresh and pleasantly juicy, as were the side dishes. Service was friendly and attentive. Recommended for both dinner for two and casual dining with friends. I'd be happy to come back.

The simple, somewhat rustic decor of "Taverna" fits this restaurant very well. Service was friendly and cheerful. The food was simply presented and delicious. At the end, we were treated to an ouzo - efcharistó!

Unfortunately, I was disappointed... the food was average at best. However, for the price, it wasn't impressive in terms of taste or portion size. We sat outside in the beer garden, and it was fine. Inside, it looked pretty run-down and dated. It has nothing to do with Greek charm. The service was attentive and friendly, but somehow a bit... over the top. The food didn't arrive at the same time, and they didn't serve ouzo that day. There are much better Greek restaurants in Munich, especially in the immediate vicinity.

I never leave reviews but this time I have to share the experience. The food is nothing special, a bit expensive for the quality and portion, but still acceptable. The service, however, is unfriendly and incredibly unprofessional. When we received the bill, the waiter told us it would be preferred to pay in cash. When we replied we only had card, he called what I assume was the owner or manager. He told us it was only possible to pay in cash. When we reiterated we only had card, he left. He then went back to the bar area, grabbed the card reader, and hid it on a shelf behind the bar. He then came back to our table and repeated that card payment wasn’t possible. I asked him if it wasn’t possible because card wasn’t accepted or because the card reader wasn’t working, since I saw him grab it a few seconds before. Realizing I had seen him try to hide the card reader, he suddenly decided paying with card was actually possible after all.. I know that a lot of places in Germany card isn’t taken, but normally this is communicated clearly on the menu or with signs at the door. This spiel made me feel uneasy and made fun of. Never again.

The food was good. The service was awesome. They even gave us a few free shots. Overall good experience. Although it was quite crowded (which I liked) but it was slightly congested but honestly, I still liked it :D ahahah

I have tried two other Greek restaurants before (Aplafunky+Taverna Melina), which were much tastier in terms of quality, taste and presentation at the same price.

We were very disappointed today. We're not regular customers, but when we come, we order at least four main courses, four bottles of wine, two starters, and one dessert. With a €280 bill for three to four people, you'd think the service would be more attentive. Unfortunately, we didn't notice any of that today. The last few times we've always been given one or two free ouzos...today we had to actively ask for it. Then, after we paid, we were asked if we wanted another ouzo. We agreed, but a short time later, the restaurant door simply slammed shut, which was like saying "fuck off." We've enjoyed coming here over the past few years, but today we all said we didn't like the service and wouldn't be coming back. Unfortunately, all four of us were very disappointed, even though we were really looking forward to the evening. The food was okay, although one of us had to leave early because she suffered diarrhea and nausea after the Metaxa. The rest of the food was okay, but - as mentioned - the service today was more than disappointing.

Solid Greek restaurant With the charm of a real tavern

It's a complete disgrace to rip off poor students like this. It's unacceptable that we were a group of 12 people spread across several tables and each one was overcharged: €3, €4, €2, ... and even €8. When we confronted the waiter, he said that the elderflower spritzer cost €6.90 (while Aperol apparently only costs €6.80) and not €4.30 as it said on the board (which wasn't there). But he still had to give us our money back because he had also overcharged us for the €6.90 sparkling water with syrup.

I always enjoy going to the Anti tavern! The service is relaxed, super friendly and fast; Food and drinks are extremely tasty and of good quality. The portions are large and the price is absolutely fair. What I like best is the rustic ambience and the relaxed atmosphere on site. Of course, one or two ouzos on the house are not missing either!

We ordered two types of meat: chicken and pork. Both were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The Greek salad was also delicious. The restaurant is small, but the atmosphere was pleasant. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

not the best for a place that should be full of friendly staff. overpriced dishes for what they offer. For example, BRIAM is offered in a normal dinner plate, with some overcooked vegetables in a sea of oil without much flavor, without other seasoning or feta for only 14 euros. Other places in Munich bring a steaming pottery with vegetables sizzling and feta on top. Not here...don´t expect too much kindness if you point out that the cost is disproportionate. At the end of dinner finding us unhappy with the service, we were offered a small plate of dessert with Yogurt.... but…. much, too much $$ for what you eat. never again.

Great atmosphere, nice staff and good food. There is also plenty of ouzo on some evenings. So far my absolute favorite place in terms of atmosphere. Unfortunately, we recently had a really unpleasant experience: If you order a starter platter for two people, each individual starter is now charged individually, so it costs (without warning) around 35 euros??!!! This is not stated and is completely disproportionate in relation to the “normal” plate served. It's a shame, we won't be coming back for a while...

We went on a Friday night and entered into an authentic, cozy, simple styled, quaint atmosphere that took me back in time. The vibe was alive and fun, the food was delicious (all 5 of us were super happy), and the Greek music filled the air in the packed restaurant. The service was fantastic and friendly and it ended up turning into a bit of a party as the ouzos and music increased with even a bit of dancing! It was a night to remember! We will definitely be back!

Update 07.09.24: It's obvious that inflation also hit Anti in the meantime. When ordering "Artischockenherzen im Speckmantel" two of the four artichoke hearts have a bacon wrapped around, and two did not have it...?! Are you kidding me? Or, when ordering "Halloumi", three tiny slices are served. In 2023, there were 5 pieces! Guys, that's not funny anymore! After more than 30 years of visiting Anti, I have to think about it because the path you follow definitely upsets customers! Anti in Jahnstraße located in the Glockenbachviertel is since decades a trusted and hospitable Greek restaurant, which luckily survived many changes in this trendy quarter in Munich. From typical Greek dishes to fish and seafood, you find authentic Greek food her. Most of the guests are locals, which makes Anti a relaxed place, to end a stressy day or to experience Greek hospitality. The staff is very friendly and knows how to treat guests. I have known this location for more than 20 years now and I still can recommend it.

Great tavern, good food, friendly service! Unfortunately with a bland aftertaste.. the two of us wanted an appetizer platter, the platter was okay.. but each individual appetizer was charged individually, the size doesn't fit at all and is a pure rip-off (see photos). Over 35 euros for an appetizer with this quantity is simply not possible. No ouzo can make up for that either 👎🏻

We've been coming back for a long time. The food is outstanding, the staff is world-class and the ambience is what I imagine a cozy Greek tavern would be like. In our opinion one of the best restaurants in Munich and perhaps even a little insider tip compared to the many middle class restaurants that are overhyped on social media.

Small but so good.many choices of Appetizers and Main dishes. Staff is super nice and location very characteristic. Grilled calamari with vegetables were well cooked, not chewy at all.

I used to enjoy going there quite often, but now for the last time. The two of us shared an appetizer platter with hot and cold starters. The menu says: we would be happy to put together your favorite dishes for you. The waiter then asked us what we would like. The food was OK, but not particularly much. Service seemed quite stressed, but was within limits. So everything was ok so far - the shock came with the bill. First, the waiter brought us a bill from another table and said that this was a shared bill and that it was less complicated that way and that we should just cover part of the other person's bill. However, our items weren't even on the bill, so the waiter told us some amount that we should pay. We refused and then got our own bill. All the individual starters were listed here, so our starter platter for 2, which hardly left us full, ended up costing around 50 euros. The third-party invoice would probably have been the better choice - but that can't be the case! Incidentally, a tip is already an integral part of the bill, but this is not specifically mentioned. (There were also 4 free ouzo on the bill that we didn't get. It wasn't bad that we didn't have them, but it was strange to find them on the bill.) In the end I feel pretty ripped off and won't be going back!

The food was nothing special, the sauce was forgotten, so the meat was very dry. Rosemary potatoes were ordered and not received at either meal. Service was rude. In the end there wasn't even an invoice.... Just the verbal amount. A pity!

We have enjoyed coming here for years. An unpretentious Greek restaurant with authentic cuisine, great staff and fair prices. All of the dishes are particularly recommended. We haven't had a bad or even average meal here in eight years. This is certainly due to the fact that the menu is clear - that's why every dish is right. We are always happy to come back!

Horrible staff, waiting for the menu took 20 minutes, waiting for the taking the orders was another 15 minutes, and being ignored despite hand signals continued for the rest of the evening.

Service very bad. Food extremely dry. Sauce was missing. Ordered rosemary potatoes and got regular potatoes. There wasn't even a proper invoice.

The atmosphere wasn't that inviting, everything was pretty run down. The service wasn't great either. Starters came at the same time as the main course. We were there with several people (14), I think the kitchen and the service were overwhelmed.

Our table was given again for 8 p.m. without informing us in advance. What a shame, last visit. Anti used to be great, now it's the absolute worst...it's a shame. Go somewhere else!!!

The place was so beautiful, cozy and old style sweet. The food was really delicious for a suitable price. The staff were very friendly, they came to our table and served us free ouzo shot. The Greek musics were also nice. As a Turkish neighbour I loved the hospitality behaviour and the ambient. It’s a nice place to drink and lose yourself in deep talking.

I ordered a wheat beer and got some other, very clear beer in a wheat beer glass. It also tasted very bitter after the first wheat beer. After I pointed this out, the waiter came with an opened 0.33 liter bottle of wheat beer and added some yeast. I didn't drink the adulterated beer. But it was on the bill. I didn't find it very accommodating. Won't go there anymore...

I was there on saturday night, place was crowded which says a lot about food quality which is good. Thing i really didnt liked it was too hot damn hot for a erage winter night i dont know was that done intentional so people would drink more or its always like that, so I don't wanna even imagine how is it inside on warm summer night :) All in all its worth visiting again thats for sure

I've been enjoying going to Anti for several years now, but the cuisine has deteriorated a bit now, which is not in proportion to the significantly increased prices. Paying just under €80 for a few cold starters, gyro plates, vegetables and a few manageable drinks for two is quite sporty!

We reserved a table for 6, but the waiter offered us a table for a maximum of 4 and claimed that there were always 6 people sitting there, even though initially there were only 4 chairs and the table was only 1m long. We didn't eat anything and left again and got another rude answer. There were 4 people standing in front of the restaurant who also left and said their table was for 2. So the name Anti fits quite well

Das Essen war gut, keine Frage, nur ist es portionsmässig wirklich wenig, insbesondere der Tsatsiki wird mit 2 etwas größeren Portionen entsprechend der Menge eines Esslöffels serviert. Sorry, aber das ist billiger angemachter Quark mit 1 Olive, warum so wenig und demzufolge teuer??? Der Service ist schnell, sehr nett und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente ist etwas abgerissen, wohl so gewollt.

Prawdopodobnie najlepsza grecka knajpa w Monachium. Bezpretensjonalna, wręcz dosyć portowa atmosfera. Jedzenie absolutnie wyśmienite. Najlepiej zamawiać dużo i się dzielić. Ceny klasyczne jak na Monachium, czyli stosunkowo drogi, ale do przeżycia. Polecam szczególnie ośmiornicę i smażony w panierce kabaczek. Muzyka grecka, ale czasem w późniejszych godzinach lecą popowe klasyki z całego świata. Polecam dla autentycznego przeżycia!

Das Ambiente und griechisch gehalten, wie einen Taverne sehr gemütlich. Der Kellner ist gelernt, das sieht man, und sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen war unglaublich lecker zubereitet. Die Rosmarinkarzoffeln zum Hauptgericht kann ich nur empfehlen. Für größere Gruppen geeignet und Preislich angemessen.

Incredible food. Very nice staff. They didn’t have space for us when we arrived and they were very sorry about it… they gave us multiple free shots of uzo because of the trouble, which was very kind of them. The atmosphere feels like you’re in Greece. It was my second time being there and the fourth visit for my wife! Highly recommend if you want delicious Greek food in Munich!
