Kreta Meer in München

It was my first time here and I was very surprised by the food. It was delicious, the gyros was unique, and all the dishes were juicy and flavorful. The service was very friendly; everything was wonderful. I would love to come back.

The staff is nice and friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant. However, the food was a disappointment; we had a lamb shank braised in a ready-made tomato-ketchup-cinnamon sauce! Therefore, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

The waiter was unfriendly, the food wasn't good. The fries were oversalted, greasy, and overpriced. I won't be back. Starter: zucchini... 5 slices for €8, chicken souvlaki with fries around €20, and the pictures speak for themselves...

I've been here several times before, but my last visit was truly disappointing. The waiter was unfriendly and not at all helpful. Although there were plenty of free tables by the window, and I specifically asked for one, I wasn't allowed to sit there – instead, I had to take a seat in a cramped, dark spot. The menu said "with vegetables," but all I got was a few slices of onion. I used to accept the poor service because of the good food, but this was definitely the last time.

Very good food, friendly service and fine Greek ambience

We actually wanted to end our stay in Munich with a nice Greek meal. I reserved a table and called specifically because we were 10 minutes late. When we arrived, we were seated at a small table in the middle of the room, but then left because a very loud person was sitting right next to us. Changing tables wasn't a problem. Then, after an hour, my appetizer arrived: pita bread and a small tzatziki dip. After almost 1.5 hours, the waiter came and asked us what we had ordered. My husband had a mixed grill with various meats, including gyro, which was now all gone. My husband was supposed to choose something else to go with it. I was really stunned. I've actually never experienced that before. After 2 hours, we finally got our food. The food was very good, even though the "other" item wasn't there at first and it had a different meat on it. So, our advantage that evening was that we had plenty of time and weren't hungry. But everyone should form their own opinion, maybe. we just picked the wrong day.

We went there spontaneously and got a table right away. But as a non-Munich resident, I can't understand the value for money. The rice wasn't cooked through. The gyro meat was greasy and tough. Small portion, high price! I've had much better Greek food. And at the end, they ask you if you'd like to give a tip. I personally find that outrageous. Either I give something voluntarily or I don't!

There are not so many place around here-so you just go here. This place is definitely not Greek. Food is so so..but as I said..there is nothing better around here and at least beer is good:-)

I ordered the tzatziki and mixed plate. It was incredibly filling, filled with delicious, well-cooked meats. I believe one plate here is enough to fill two people's ears :) The atmosphere was calm, decent, and the waiters were attentive. We really missed seeing waiters who listened to you and cared about you.

We were here for lunch. We arrived a little before the afternoon closing time, so ordering was faster. However, the staff was very nice and helpful. We have to praise the moussaka, which was excellent! We would be happy to visit again, we recommend it!

Good zaziki, diodos, and dalmadakia, exceptional pita. A warm, comforting chicken soup. Nice place.

An unassuming restaurant near the Olympic Park. The food was delicious and the service very attentive.

There were dozens of free tables, none reserved – but we weren't allowed to choose our own. We weren't allowed to sit at the large table with a bench because another party might arrive at some point. At 9 p.m.! Apparently, imaginary guests are more important here than real ones. Very inflexible, not hospitable.

Grilled chicken breast, perfectly roasted. Flavorful salad, well-seasoned potatoes. Delicious beans. At the end of the meal, you also get a cicchetti with the bill. It's located just a few steps from the Oberwiesenfeld subway station, line U3. Recommended restaurant

This was actually the first Greek restaurant that didn't offer ouzo at the start. The typical salad with the main course wasn't included either. The service seemed irritated, and requests for changes weren't welcome. The food was at least okay—but nothing more.

We wanted to end the evening in a relaxed manner and just have a drink. We were shown a table straight away and given the menu. The restaurant wasn't that busy on a Tuesday evening, so it was pleasant and actually homely. It took a good 20 minutes before we could place our order. We were just about to leave when we were able to order. The drinks came quickly. We were served a Fanta (=orange) instead of a lemonade, as it said on the menu. But whatever... The negative highlight was paying. After we had finished our drinks, we asked for the bill. After 15 minutes, we asked a different waiter for the bill again. After another 15 minutes, we got up and went into the restaurant to pay. No one was responsible for the bill there either, and we were referred to a waiter. We then paid on the spot, totally annoyed.

Highly recommended. Everything was top-notch.

Very beautiful restaurant with excellent food, very good service, large, filling portions and a nice atmosphere in the garden where we sat. The food was so good that we actually ate until we were full. All the waiters also speak Greek and were very polite and fast. Thank you! Our 11-year-old son ate with great pleasure. The place is very suitable for children since it is a garden. We highly recommend!

Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as we expected. The tzatziki tasted of old, musty garlic. The white beans were delicious. My baby calamari was good, but the side dish, the vegetables, were overcooked and tasted just as musty as the garlic. The bifteki was good, but the sides weren't good either. The vegetable rice consisted of yellow-colored rice and a few pieces of carrot; it had nothing to do with vegetable rice. The service was friendly. The outside could be cleaner. The windowsills were very dirty.

The restaurant was quite busy for a midweek meal. The ambiance is quite pleasant, but the waiters were consistently lackluster and inattentive; I hadn't imagined Greek hospitality to be anything but. There was no thank you at the cashier or for the tip. Everything at the table was a bit muddy, but otherwise it looked clean. The zucchini and artichokes, which the menu said were grilled, were from the deep fryer, the king prawns tasted fishy, ​​the meat was a bit dry, and the plates were completely overloaded with sloppy and unseasoned wedges—we've had better gyros. The stuffed vine leaves and tzatziki were delicious.

We happened to be here on our way and wanted something to eat. The staff was friendly and the food was excellent. We had grilled lamb and boiled lamb, which I definitely recommend.

One small downside: I was unfortunately charged €2 more for the lunch menu, even though I arrived before 2:30 p.m. That was a bit unexpected—perhaps it's worth clarifying in advance. Great food, great service I'll be back

I'm not sure why it only gave it 4.2 stars. There were three of us and we had the gyro pan, tzatziki, and the Zoras grill, and I have to say that everything was very well-balanced. The service was attentive but not intrusive, the food was tasty and perhaps even a bit over-portioned, and the beer was on tap, not bottled. Definitely worth a visit in my opinion.

Unfortunately, the food was very overcooked (rice), too salty (fries), and burnt (souvlaki). Service was unfriendly. While we were eating, there was a very loud bang in the kitchen. It sounded like a gunshot. Afterwards, various people screamed at each other for five minutes. It was frightening.

“Greek-style” food is not particularly recommended

It's a very great place to eat, it just takes a while for the food to arrive but it's worth the wait and the service is very helpful and active

Was there about a year ago - I honestly can't remember much of the food, which says a lot. But what remains in my mind to this day was the service: the waiter completely forgot about us several times, and it was the first (and so far only) time that my mother said to me: "He didn't deserve a tip." That speaks for itself.

Actually, I wouldn't give it a star at all, because you order your food and wait for an hour, guests who came after us get their food beforehand and when you ask, you find out that the order hasn't arrived in the kitchen. Never again.

Food: Meat dishes and salads are very delicious, but better job could be done on fish (Calamari rings). Service: Drinks and food came very fast. At the end of the meal we were offered for an Uzo shot on the house. Atmosphere: Restaurant is very spacious, so most of the time you will find a table even without reservation. Parking: There are several parking spaces saved for guests next to the police station, so safe place to park the car.

The service was very friendly, quick. We didn't have a reservation, but we were still warmly welcomed and treated very nicely.

The Taverna Kreta Meer in Munich is always a place to go for delicious food near the Olympic Park. The gyros and liver are highly recommended.

I have fond memories of eating there today! Apparently it's a new tenant 🤔 The gyros were extremely dry, Gyros Metaxa were too salty and despite the defects mentioned, the waitress tried to withhold 9.80 euros without asking. Mind you, just keep it! It's a shame what a new tenant can do!

We have also known the Crete Sea for years. We always meet there when friends stay in one of the nearby hotels. We always enjoyed going there, even if the price-performance ratio was never good. But last week we were served by a very disgruntled waiter after initially ignoring us. The waiters who brought and cleared the drinks, however, were friendly. Everyone at the table was under the impression that if you wanted to eat here you had to apologize. We didn't know the Crete Sea like this before. The staff was always friendly without exception. The food wasn't that good this time either. My moussaka looked like it had been reheated many times and it tasted that way too. The others at the table weren't impressed with the food either. We will look for another meeting place in the future - there are enough restaurants in Munich.

One of the best Greek restaurants in town

We discovered the restaurant by chance on the way to a concert and immediately communicated that we didn't have much time left to eat. The order was taken immediately. Our food came promptly!! The two of us had dinner at Kreta Meer. Everything was great, the selection of starters was large and inexpensive. The main courses were very tasty and the portions were good. Always worth a visit.

We had a delicious meal there and were served in a friendly manner. The waiter even helped our 8-year-old to remove the bones from the sea bream and portion it out 👌The restaurant has super cozy corners and the prices are ok too. As usual with free ouzo. Top!

Basically a good restaurant. There were five of us and we were all hungry. Everyone had ordered a “platter”. Came on the plate and the portion was ok but unfortunately not anymore. We didn't have a reservation and were lucky to get a table outside. It's located at a large intersection, but because it's separated by a hedge you can sit quite nicely, sometimes even under trees. Because of the impending thunderstorm, we were immediately told we could go in at any time and just take the table number with us, very foresighted and uncomplicated when a really violent storm came. Waiters very nice and really Greek. Very tasty retsina from the bottle and the usual dishes at reasonable prices (for Munich). We really enjoyed the visit.

It's on the street so it's noisy. The waiters just radiated stress and unrest and the friendliness wasn't far off either. The waiter was annoyed because we didn't know the numbers of our dishes, asked us to come three times and didn't even have time to let us finish, not even thinking about a question after the food had been served as to whether everything was okay. The other waiter had lost a full tray and was unable to remove the shards because of the hectic pace. Children are tolerated as guests but are not really considered - they are only included in two dishes on the menu. The food was very tasty, but unfortunately it can't make up for the overall result.

It was nice to sit outside. Food wasn't particularly impressive but it was still okay. Unfortunately the waiter was really fresh and obviously didn't feel like it. There were six of us there on Friday evening. Had reserved. We actually all thought the food was very good. One point deducted because it is very, very expensive. The starters for almost 20 euros were also not enough. But then we'll leave them out the next time we visit.. 😉
