We celebrated a birthday at Kreta Grill. We tried a wide variety of dishes from the menu, and they accommodated all our requests (vegetarian, fish/calamari, etc.). Every dish was a 10 out of 10. The team was very welcoming. We'd go back anytime! Unfortunately, I only took one picture of the appetizer.

The food was so delicious! We were extremely pleasantly surprised. Amazing mussels, amazing artichokes, amazing mixed grill – everything was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was so lovely. Thank you so much!

The grilled fish was delicious! The rice was also cooked perfectly! The place was clean and tidy!

Very friendly stuff! Huge portions that definitely payed off for the price, and food is also delicious. We ate homemade gyros, mousaka, souvlaki and kotopoulo, everything was great.

The price/performance ratio isn't right... Too expensive for the simple food... I don't need Greek water...

I've known Kreta Grill for years; the taverna has existed longer than you might think and consistently demonstrates excellent quality, authentic and friendly service with a genuine Greek flair.

I think you should never go here!!!!! I had to write "in my opinion" because it was the most disgusting experience of my life, and that's why this review will be so critical that I'm afraid of being sued. I started my plate by tasting the tzatziki. It was slightly above average in flavor. The gyros was cut very thick. There was a thin layer of burnt meat on top, and the meat underneath was less than rare. I love gyros and eat gyros at every Greek restaurant I go to. That's why I wanted to eat it here, but when it arrived, it was like roasted meat, not gyros, and it smelled so strong that it bothered me for the first time. I won't even get into the taste. If I weren't ashamed, I'd say, "I won't eat this." Of course, I didn't like the taste (because taste is subjective), so I didn't leave. That wouldn't be right in my opinion. Since I couldn't eat the gyros, my wife offered me their grilled meat. The meatballs and chicken were neither delicious nor lacking in flavor. It was the classic meatball and chicken, something you'd normally eat to fill your stomach. It was time to try the salad, and our first such experience occurred. I thought I saw a trace of vinegar on the arugula. But when we both looked more closely, we saw that it was a very lively, colorful worm, clearly enjoying its existence. I wish I'd thought to take a video or something. I got scared and called one of the waiters. Since they couldn't see me, I went over. Luckily, we showed it before it escaped. The waiter looked at it. My wife said, "Do you see it?" The waiter said, "Yes," and took it from us. What followed was a complete disaster. Our plates weren't cleared for a long time. Every time I looked at the plate, I almost threw up. Even writing this makes me nauseous. I'm ashamed to have to write this review, but I'm telling the truth. After a long wait, we called out to the waiters again. The other waiter came and asked, "Are you satisfied?" Of course, we said, "No." "Why?" he asked. "Didn't you see the worm?" "I saw it, so what happened?" he said. So, there was no problem, this happens with every salad. It's perfectly normal for fresh salads! I was very surprised to hear this. In Türkiye, where I'm from, such a thing would never be said. I don't think it would be said anywhere else. Apologies are offered, new food is served, or something is offered. The customer's experience is deemed truly unacceptable, and even a small thing is done to compensate. All we got was an attitude of, "Everything's fine, what are you talking about?" Finally, when I got a patronizing question about what we wanted, I told them I wanted to leave. The waiter, with another patronizing tone, said something I didn't understand, and showed us the door. So, we put on our coats and left the restaurant. Don't go, folks. Let businesses like this not survive with high ratings without improving their quality. When they see the bad reviews and people stop leaving, they'll be forced to improve their quality and professionalism. Don't recommend it to anyone, don't even walk past it. Side note: I hope the boycott call, like in Turkey, is a crime. It probably doesn't count, ehehehhe. Bottom line: I couldn't buy this experience with money. Thank you very much. If it were in Türkiye, you'd be charging as much as the "dayakçı Çiğ köfte" restaurant.

There was a living snail in our salad. After reading this, if you are still interested with this restaurant just hang on. Guess what they did after we showed them the snail? They did nothing for a quite long time. I was barely holding myself without throwing up but it was even harder for my wife who hates snails. We wait more than ten minutes and at the end the waiter came. He asked how was your dish? C'mon guys. You can do better than that. You are a human being too. And I bet you won't accept this kind of behaviour any restaurant you go. I basically assumed that waiter didn't informed about the snail. Interestingly, he had. He shamelessly said ''I know'' and didn't even apologize, just said ''it happens in salads''. He offered to replace the salad! Who can eat after seeing a snail in their dish? I was pretty pissed off but still calm until he said in a rude manner, ''what do you want''. Be sure that you can handle the snail in the salad and rude waiters. Btw. the food was below average anyhow.

We celebrated a birthday here, and the waitress cooked me something with the leftovers, even though the kitchen was closed. A very good place with very nice people!

We always enjoy our meals here, and the food is very good. The owner is really very accommodating and the staff friendly. I find the many bad reviews about only accepting cash, and therefore only giving it one star, a bit harsh. Yes, in this day and age, they should also be able to accept card payments, but that will certainly come. And in the worst case scenario, there's a bank diagonally across the street. The most important thing, though, is that the food tastes very good.

March 2024: The food tasted good, but it was a bit too little for the money. €9 for four thin slices of halloumi, €2.50 for a pita. Unfortunately, I didn't get full. But the atmosphere was pleasant and the service was fast.

Probably one of the worst restaurant experiences. After waiting 20 minutes to order, the food arrived after an hour. In between we only had beers, slices of stale bread and some olives. There was tension in the kitchen and in the shop in general, the waiters made bad jokes without even apologizing for the delay. In the end the food was average and the portions small. Tzatziki, taramas and eggplant salad were poor quality, industrialized. And the icing on the cake: we were informed at the end that they only accept cash and we were running and never arrived. And again, not a single apology, as if it was our fault. Decadent setting, unforgettable experience and the last one.

Small but nice. The food is very tasty and the hosts are very nice and accommodating. Not a “Fleischberg-Platte” Greek, but that’s precisely why it’s something special. Don't forget cash, no card payment possible.

The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed everything very much. We also got a table that was nice for us. In the summer it's probably more pleasant outside, as the noise inside is quite loud when everyone is talking in the crowded restaurant, but you can also listen to the table next to you ;-). Oh yes, beer with 0.5l quantity would be great. We would like to come back for 'Greek'.

Food is tasty and portions are good, but prices are pretty outrageous. Just under €22 for a simple grill plate and it doesn't even come with rice or anything like that. And €4.50 for 0.33l Spezi is also the amount. The worst, however: 2024, Munich, but no card payment. The corresponding sign on the door is almost impossible to see and there is nothing on the (pretty cheap) map.

The food was delicious, but I found it a shame that the salad was quite boring. Green salad with a little oil on top, very economical. You can't order fries, rice or other side dishes there, green salad or potatoes, that's it. The restaurant is right on the street. The service is very friendly, but no questions asked if you would like something else to drink. Probably meant to be unobtrusive. I think the pay is a big negative point. Only cash is accepted there. In my opinion, it should definitely be possible to pay by card, especially in a city like Munich; everything else is no longer up to date.

The service was slow, the food was mediocre and the food contained surprises like a live caterpillar. When we pointed this out, the response was, "Oh, yes, I'm sorry, but things like that happen sometimes. It's just nature." There was no sincere apology or attempt to make things better. Never again.

Row of tables on the street - atmosphere good - food good - when it came to paying: only cash payment possible - the waiter very energetically told us to check the bill: there were 3 x 1 drink more on the bill (a total of 20 euros - that was what we did A new bill was brought (within 1 minute) - very surprising - since we were strangers in this restaurant, a bad aftertaste was left behind

Very busy that evening, unfortunately the service was a bit overwhelmed. Had to wait quite a long time for a cold Greek beer, there is NO Bavarian beer! Nothing on tap either...unfortunately. The starter of sheep's cheese from the oven was quite good, with a pita with garlic. Then came a grill plate that was quite good, but completely over-seasoned for my taste. The prices are slightly higher for this service....

Food tasted good. But it's really not acceptable in Schwabing not to accept card payments and not even an excuse. It's 2024 in the middle of Munich!!! Where is the customer friendliness if when you pay you are only told that we only accept cash!!! It was our first time in the restaurant. You really can't say anything while eating. Everything was very good. But then destroying this experience by only accepting cash and not even offering an apology or solution is what I think Heart of Munich in 2024 really not appropriate and this is only worth 1 star.

The food is incredible. And the service is amazing. I finally found the Greek flavor I was looking for in Munich. Today I tried the meat special. Everything is great. Thank you very much for the friendly staff and the pleasant hospitality.

Anyway, one waiter hates babies. Unfortunately, we were no longer served at 2:15 p.m. with the argument that they were on lunch break. However, the kitchen alone is open until 2:30 p.m. and the break didn't start until 3:00 p.m. The reason for this was probably that we were traveling with strollers and the waiter didn't like the fact that we were moving the chairs around. In any case, the conclusion is that a waiter hates babies.

Good restaurant with delicious food and super nice service. In summer it's especially a dream on the terrace, almost like you're on vacation.

Tolles, authentisches Restaurant mit sehr netten Besitzern. Unbedingt den Auberginensalat probieren! Alle anderen Vorspeisen sind auch toll und eine gute Alternative für Vegetarier. War in den letzten 10 Jahren zweimal im Calypso und hab mich den ganzen Abend in Dauerschleife gefragt, warum ich nicht zum Kreta Grill bin 😆

Essen ist hier einfach herrvorragend. Man merkt dass die Gerichte hausgemacht sind, Selbst beim Grill-Teller merkt man dass jede Fleischsorte anders mariniert/gewürzt ist, und jede Sorte ist ein Genuss! Wie kleine Reise nach Griechenland :)

Nach langer Zeit wieder einmal dort gewesen. Das Essen ist i. O. - keine Frage. Aber die Preise sind zwischenzeitlich saftig gestiegen - trotz Corona/Inflation usw. Preis/Leistung viel zu hoch angesetzt. Pro Speise 3,50 Euro bis 5 Euro im Vergleich zu direkter Konkurrenz - Beispiel: simples Gyros mit ein wenig Salat 16,80 Euro - üblich sonst 11,90 Euro. Ich find es zu teuer für eine Snack direkt an der Tramlinie eng aneinander gequetscht...

Super leckeres Essen, alle Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen sind total freundlich und aufmerksam. Eine klare Empfehlung wir kommen gerne wieder.

Essen ist lecker, aber auch nichts Außergewöhnliches. Es gibt das, was ich bei einem griechischen Restaurant erwarte und das in guter Qualität. Preislich nicht gerade günstig. Ambiente draußen direkt an der Straße ist jetzt nicht so wirklich toll, auch drinnen finde ich die Stühle eher unbequem.

Cash only in 2023!?!? We were not notified either prior to dining that they did not accept card nor did we receive a receipt at the end. I would have given the restaurant 5 stars had they done so otherwise. The place has delicious Tzatziki and really nice pita bread. The atmosphere rings with traditional geek music, and you can tell it's a family of staff workers.

La comida es algo espectacular en este lugar. El local es pequeño y el servicio muy bueno. Le hubiera dado 5 estrellas, pero el hecho de que solo acepten pago en efectivo es una limitante muy importante a mi parecer. Fuera de eso es una opción muy recomendable.

The one and only place in Munich that gets the closest to the traditional Cretan food as possible. Big applause to the cook. The only thing missing was a bottle of olive oil on every table - something worth considering for the future. Definitely pay this place a visit. The service was fast and warm. Menu selection is reasonable. The place is rather small, so expect to be close to other tables. Reservation is highly recommended. Edit after owner response: Olive oil available on demand! :-D 💙

Das Essen ist frisch und köstlich, der Service ist herzlich und aufmerksam, Preis Leistung ist top. Calamari waren genau richtig und die Doradenfilet Perfekt gebraten.

Wie immer sehr lecker gewesen und für eine kleine Zeit den Eindruck gehabt im Urlaub zu sein. Das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Zurzeit ist nur Barzahlung möglich, ich würde mir wünschen, dass auch Kartenzahlung möglich wäre.
