Gerne möchte ich eine Bewertung über unseren Besuch von gestern 18.07.24 schreiben, leider habe ich einiges zu kritisieren. Wir hatten dieses Restaurant für ein Geburtstagsessen ausgewählt weil wir von früheren Besuchen dort mit dem Essen sehr zufrieden waren. Soweit so gut. Wir hatten leider das Pech in unmittelbarer Nähe von einer größeren Gesellschaft zu sitzen und die Lautstärke war schon sehr anstrengend für unsere 89 Jährige Mutter, hätte man auch anders machen können. Das Essen war durchschnittlich gut aber für den hohen Preis ziemlich kleine Portionen, bei den Getränken ( 3 Gläser Wein) war in jedem Glas unterschiedlich wenig drin, das geht meiner Meinung nach nicht, wenn der Rest aus der Flasche nicht mehr reicht dann sollte man bevor man sich beschwert eine neue Flasche öffnen. Dann kam die Rechnung, wir waren zu dritt und hatte als Aperitif jeder einen Prosecco es wurden uns aber 4 Prosecco berechnet, als wir das reklamiert hatten kam die unverschämte Antwort, naja sie hatten ja ursprünglich den Tisch für 4 Personen reserviert. Auch mit der Beschwerde dass die 3 nicht bestellten Bruschetta auf der Rechnung standen kam nur eher unfreundlich die Aussage „aber die haben Sie doch auch gegessen“ also nicht Gastfreundlich. Manche Restaurants haben es anscheinend nicht mehr nötig Gastfreundlich und ehrlich zu sein, schade. Wir kommen aber auf keinen Fall wieder…..

A real Italian LOCALE in the middle of a German city 🥰 we came without reservation and were lucky to be seated coz the place was full! Despite of this we got served really quick! Food came in less then 20 min I think and it was extremely tasty. The personnel was really friendly and welcoming 🇮🇹 Really recommend! Grazie infinite, ragazzi 🫶

Abbiamo scelto casualmente il posto, camerieri gentilissimi da subito. Terrazza molto suggestiva e curata con panorama mozzafiato. Avendo 2 passeggini i camerieri sono stati da subito molto cortesi nel trovarci il posto più confortevole. Cucina veramente meritevole e di qualità. Davvero tutto molto molto piacevole se non fosse per l’incontro con la scortesissima proprietaria che si aggirava in modo molto sospettoso nella saletta interna dove eravamo solo nei mentre andavamo in bagno, si avvicina a me sbattendomi tra le mani dei sacchetti di resti di noccioline sostenendo fossero mie davvero persona sgradevole che annulla la magnifica ora trascorsa lì. Peccato

A nice restaurant with typical and authentic Italian cuisine. The dishes are very tasty and presented in a visually appealing way. The service is friendly and attentive, when delivering to the table you have to ask who placed which order. The glasses are not presented to the guest with the emblem. Due to the location on the main street, there are limited parking spaces nearby and there is a charge for them. May 2024

Good food in a lively atmosphere. Service was friendly, but not always easy to reach. A reservation seems urgently recommended. The parking garage opposite is ideal for parking.

Family-friendly, very accommodating restaurant with the best food. - In 2020 we were in Taormina with 5 adults and 2 small children. There was a normal and a season ticket. The selection is typical of an Italian. Pizza and especially pasta are highly recommended. I can't write anything more specific about the drinks and other dishes. We felt very comfortable during the 1.5 hours and although the children got a bit tired and tiring for ourselves, the time was very nice. It almost gave me the impression that the families in the restaurant were treated even friendlier because of the children. At the end we were treated to a very tasty coffee drink of our choice - on the house. A restaurant like this is something rare these days. But the taormina has been in Wuppertal for a long time. The story can certainly be read better elsewhere. Or you can ask on site. With this in mind, with best recommendations - bon appetit.. Taormina will also be a sought-after place in 2024. The prices have of course gone up, like everywhere else, but, in my opinion, the quality is also better. Always my pleasure.

Actually an Italian that we have always been happy with. Food excellent, price level OK, pleasant atmosphere, especially outside in summer, inside - perhaps a bit noisy because it is almost always full and the interior design is not very sound-absorbing. Doesn't matter ! The last time we were there was on March 1st, 2024. Table had to be reserved online. I didn't like the location in the last corner of the next room. Whatever! But it all started with the choice of drinks. Ordered a bottle of Nero D'Avola from Sicily. The waitress comes with an already opened bottle of wine. I complained about this because a wine bottle is always uncorked at the table. The waitress was perplexed that I didn't like it - "we always do it like that, it's easier". I'm sorry, what ? I took a sip and immediately noticed that the wine was quite oaky for a fruity Nero d'Avola, which was unusual and I didn't like it. Looked at the label and lo and behold: it was actually a different wine. Just changed like that, without asking. Complained again, the waitress replied: "The selected wine is no longer in stock". Then suddenly the boss came, brought - oh wonder - the Nero D'Avola I had ordered and uncorked it at the table with the statement: "You would have gotten something better with the other wine". Huh??? Since when have we been on a first-name basis? Strange thing with the wine, considering that selling and serving a bottle in a restaurant for 3-4 times the purchase price would have to be easy money compared to preparing food. However, there should be no tricks and the simplest rules should be followed. Well, the starter was great (Burrata), the main course Battuta was also good as always. When I asked for the bill, the waitress held an online payment device in front of my face with a final amount for card payment. I asked for the expression, um to control everything (as I always do, of course). Your answer: “You will receive the invoice printout later”. Me: But no, I have to see it first! Then she brought a bill which turned out to be the one from the next table and was of course completely wrong. Complained again, gritted our teeth and brought our bill. But it was also wrong because it listed the wine that had not been ordered (and opened) at first, which was of course now more expensive. Complained again, bill reduced and corrected. Then finally pay. Again the small device on which I should first enter the percentage amount of the tip (5, 10, 15%). But I didn't want to. Why? The waitress's answer: "Yes, of course, you weren't happy!" Great description! She grumpily: “So tap here WITHOUT”. Of course there was NO tip for such unprofessional behavior. And if so, I'm happy to do so voluntarily - and not upon request. We both asked ourselves: What is going on in Taormina? Extremely increased prices, cunning tricks and mistakes, then being offended without understanding or apologizing?...I think that's it for us. A pity.

It was a quick visit before a concert. The seats were okay, but the food and service were really good. Will definitely come back.

Went there for the first time yesterday based on a recommendation and unfortunately I didn't think it was that great: The background noise was like a train station hall: very loud and not very comfortable. I was amazed at the prices: €15.50 for a tuna pizza is very brave, even in times of rising prices. Mind you, in a pizzeria in Wuppertal (not Munich, London or New York). The drinks were similarly priced. The pizza itself tasted okay, but nothing extraordinary; The dough in the middle was much too thin, resulting in a mushy mass. The service changed several times that evening and fluctuated between friendly and taciturn. What also surprised me was that when I ordered water, not a glass but a large 0.7 liter bottle was served without asking. Very unusual. The evening was okay for me, but unfortunately nothing more.

Simple, small, regional places but don’t go by the restaurant size and ambience which is basic. But it was bustling with clients that are mostly regular here to sample pure Italian coastal cuisine at its best! The food was outstanding! Must try if you are in Wuppertal!

Tolles Erlebnis... Haben uns durch die komplette Sonderkarte gegessen... Wurde uns als Degustazionsmenü angeboten was wir dankend annahmen... So konnten wir alle Speisen der Sonderkarte probieren.. Herrlich

Incredibly good and delicious cuisine in a really cozy, original Italian atmosphere. Everyone gets their money's worth here... The selection on the menu is huge and whether it's antipasti, pizza, pasta or salads - everything tastes fantastic. And the price-performance ratio is also right!! The staff is super friendly and attentive and leaves nothing to be desired. The desserts are heavenly - especially the tiramisu and the pistachio cream. I give 10 stars and am already looking forward to my next visit. Also ideal as a location for company parties.

Unfortunately, the food is disappointing given its high price. Service/staff are good and don't lose track even when the house is full. The volume in the very large main room is very high for many visitors because there are no sound barriers.

The food (pizza and pasta) and drinks were really tasty. Price-performance ratio is (still). However, it bothered me that I was called by the nickname (without being asked). Since I didn't play in the sandbox with the waiter, I found this rude. And being nagged at because “only” three of us came (the other family members were sick) is also not good manners.

It was a wonderful evening with truly authentic Italian cuisine, great service and ambience. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely eat there again.

The waiter tried very hard, but was a bit too intrusive for me. The menu is varied. I had a margharita pizza which was okay. Extremely thin base and topping, a little more seasoning would have been good. Prices in the upper range, portion sizes manageable. Therefore the price-performance ratio is not right for me. The rooms are nicely designed, but the tables are very small and close together, so it was difficult to accommodate the plates and drinks of 5 people. Requests regarding allergies were addressed in a friendly and helpful manner.

Wir waren an einem Samstag Abend dort essen. Zunächst gab es Brot Oliven und Dips aufs Haus. Danach gegrillter Lachs mit Stängelkohl und Drillingen. Zum Abschluss Tiramisu. Wir können nur sagen: Essen top. Service top. Ambiente top. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend.

Weihnachtsfeier mit Zöliakie beim Italiener klingt nach ner schwierigen Sachen. Aber sie haben es gut hinbekommen und die Pasta war glutenfrei und lecker. Sie hatten allerdings eine Vorwarnung, weiß nicht, ob das Standard ist.

Aufmerksame, freundliche Bedienung. Essen ist wirklich einfach nur verdammt lecker und die Preise sind ebenfalls echt fair. Beste Bruschetta meines Lebens übrigens. Habe in Italien schon schlechter italienisch gegessen. Wer diesen Laden kennt und trotzdem in Läden a la L'Osteria isst, hat aufjedenfall eine extrem gestörte Wahrnehmung und braucht Hilfe.

Ausgezeichnetes Essen in schönem Ambiente! Der Service war sehr freundlich und wir waren rundum zufrieden. Die Portionen der Hauptgerichte sind genau richtig und das Dessert nach dem Essen ist ein Muss! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir kommen seit Jahren ins Taormina, sind eigentlich Stammgäste, aber was ich heute Abend erlebt habe spottet jeder Beschreibung. Wir hatten ursprünglich für 5 reserviert, aufgrund einer Erkrankung viel ein Paar aus. Ich habe daraufhin umgehend die Reservierung angepasst, was auch dankend zur Kenntnis genommen wurde. Heute um 3 Minuten vor 8 kamen wir im Restaurant an und wurden wieder zurück auf die Straße geschickt, da der Tisch noch nicht verfügbar sei. Zum Glück hat es nicht geregnet. Wenn ich schon Tische im 2-Schicht-Betrieb belege muss ich zumindest dafür- Sorge tragen dass diese dann auch zum reservierten Zeitpunkt verfügbar sind. Das interessierte den Betreiber aber nicht, kein Wort der Entschuldigung, man könne die Gäste ja schließlich nicht vom Tisch vertreiben. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Als wir dann endlich saßen und bestellen wollten kam die Nachfrage nach der dritten Person (die kurzfristig verhindert war, was aber auch in der Reservierungsänderung meinerseits schon als Möglichkeit angekündigt wurde). Als ich dies dann mitteilte hieß es dann das wir den Tisch - aus wirtschaftlichen Gründen (denn hier könnten ja mehr Personen bewirtet werden) räumen müssten. Es gab dann einen Katzentisch im hinteren Bereich und zur offensichtlichen „Strafe“ keine Oliven mit Brot. Eigentlich wäre ich gegangen, hätte meine Begleitung nicht solchen Hunger gehabt. Retrospektiv war das jedoch die bessere Entscheidung, denn so habe ich einen Platz mit nur 6 Euro Umsatz einen Abend lang belegt. 😜 Mich und meine gesamte Familie sieht dieses Restaurant jedenfalls nicht wieder. Das interessiert sie zwar jetzt nicht da der Laden läuft. Aber die Zeiten ändern sich und Hochmut kommt ja bekanntlich vor dem Fall!

Essen ist sehr lecker. Tisch hat man aber nur für 2 Stunden. Wer also ein Schnellrestaurant möchte und kein Problem damit hat das er nach 2 Stunden rausgeschmissen wird ist hier richtig.....ich war das letzte Mal dort, es gibt sicher auch andere gute Italiener in Wuppertal

Ein schönes Restaurant. Die männliche Servicekraft, freundlich, die weibliche Servicekraft eher nicht. Eines haben aber beide gemeinsam, den Scheuklappenblick. Wenn man etwas möchte braucht es 5-10 Versuche, um auf sich aufmerksam zu machen. Es dauerte 45 Minuten bis das Essen kam. Die Pastagerichte sehr klein, geschmacklich Mittelmaß und völlig überteuert, wir sind nicht satt geworden. Das haben wir so auch zur Sprache gebracht, worauf man meinte, man hätte um satt zu werden, eine Vorspeise dazu bestellen müssen. Als Gesamtbewertung gebe ich eine 3- bis 4.

Bestes Restaurant in Wuppertal! Super Service und wirklich lecker! Vorspeisenplatte und Pizzen top! Der weiße Schokokuchen mit Tonkaeis zum Nachtisch war der Hammer. Wir kommen wieder!

Super! Wir kommen öfter hierher... vor allem weil das Essen so hervorragend ist. Aber auch der Service ist spitze, zuvorkommend und immer ein nettes Wort für die Gäste. Das Ambiente stimmt ebenfalls. Man fühlt sich einfach rundum wohl. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Immer wieder sehr lecker. Sowohl Vorspeisen, Hauptspeise und Nachttische überzeugen geschmacklich und werden sehr appetitlicht von dem freundliches Personal serviert. Eine größere Auswahl an veganen Speisen wäre schön.

Sehr gutes italienisches Essen, modernes aber passendes Design im Restaurant, angenehme und kompetente Bedienung. :) Wir haben im Außenbereich gesessen, der zwar zur Südstraße hin ausgerichtet - aber gut vom Verkehr abgeschirmt ist.

Leckeres Essen aber die Portionen entsprechen nicht dem Preis viel zu klein . Musik zu laut und eine Gefahr von druchfahrenden Passanten getroffen zu werden.

Das Restaurant Taormina ist nur zu empfehlen. Es ist einfach so gemütlich und der Service ist unglaublich nett und zuvorkommend:)

Nach großen Schwierigkeiten, relativ kurzfristig für eine größere Gruppe ein Restaurant zu finden, hat uns das Taormina aus der Patsche geholfen und angenommen - und wir waren sehr angetan von der extrem freundlichen, guten Bedienung und dem hervorragenden Essen. Wir kommen gerne wieder und empfehlen das Restaurant uneingeschränkt.

Here you can enjoy good Italian cuisine in many variations. We recommend. The restaurant is located in the immediate vicinity of the famous two buildings "Schwimmoper" and "Stadthalle", the city of Wuppertal.

One of the best pizza restaurants in town, you always have to book a table a few days before because it's always full ! The waiters were very nice and patient with us as we didn't speak German very well. I will recommend !

We came here to have some good Italian food and weren't let down. The design of restaurant and menu is really good and professional, so is the staff, which is always caring for the guests. We had different drinks, a starter and pasta. Everything was delicious, they use fresh and homemade pasta, a difference to many other Italian restaurants around, and something you can taste. The prices are not low, but fair. We'll definitely come back here, when in town, maybe to test the pizza.

After several days of German food we chose Taormina for Italian and were not disappointed. Quaint and modern interior with comfortable seating. Ordered Bruschetta as a starter and were not disappointed. Arugula salad was fresh and ample quantity. Main entrees of pasta and lamb filets were very good. Nice house red wine complimented the tasty food. We could not resist ordering the Tiramisu after reading trip advisor reviews and it was awesome. Fabrizio, the owner made sure we had the best dining experience. Also told us that his Tiramisu has several other ingredients that make it super special. Also loved the server call box on the table. Reservations should be considered as it fills up quickly! Ciao

A very nice italian restaurant pure, with nice dishes, and very good service. Home cooked italian food, that requires a time to do, but the result is fantastic, and in an economic format. Waiters pay attention but are not incomodating you and the flavours are nice. Inside is small but distribution is good so there´s a good space to talk or just to enjoy your food without others intromisions. Also the coffee is incredible and that always is nice to find.

Very friendly local Italian restaurant. Has a varied menu of Pasta and Pizza dishes. We had been on a long bus tour in unseasonably warm weather. While we would have preferred dining al fresco, unfortunately the rest of the crowd had the same idea. I had a Pasta dish featuring linguine type noodles in a ragout. My better half opted for a Pizza. both were excellent. Service was a bit slow, but it was NOT due to the wait staff who was constantly hustling. Adding additional staff is not feasible in this small venue. I suggest that you just slow down, perhaps have an appertizer or a glass of wine and enjoy life in Wuppertal
