We have been guests several times, recently for the first time in the outdoor area. Short version: Great! The food is fresh, especially the sushi is heavenly, the service is friendly, courteous and fast. About the price: Sushi is not one of the cheapest dishes anyway, and Tanoshii doesn't change that. The all-round package absolutely justifies the prices. We would be very, very happy to come back!

They are actually regular customers. However, the last visit was a disaster - not because of the food, but the absolutely miserable service. First we weren't served at all for half an hour and we carefully asked if there was a lot going on, whereupon the waitress said "no, not really" (yes, great, then served and please?), then we had to keep placing orders order more at the counter, things were forgotten. When asked at the end if everything was okay, we said "No", the answer was "Aha." Ask what was wrong: Apparently not necessary. And then paid €170 for 3 people... No, sorry Tanoshii, we're used to it differently. We're now looking at alternatives and maybe try it again next year.

Sushi is great, lots of choice of fish and seafood, but the prices are all too high, especially nigiri, flambee, temaki, sashimi and main courses. Service staff are friendly and attentive, dishes can easily be adapted to individual taste preferences. No shop for people with dietary restrictions e.g. gluten intolerance or vegans.

We have been enjoying eating here regularly for years. The service is always very friendly and the sushi is extremely high quality. The "Romantic Dinner Date for Two" platter is a great mix of sashimi, nigiri, makis and rolls that will definitely feed two adults at a very fair price. The platter for 4 people is also phenomenal. The starters and main courses are also very tasty, although the sushi is simply a must. At lunchtime there are also great dishes for €13. Tanoshii is by far the best sushi/Asian-fusion restaurant in Cologne.

The venue and sushi are excellent. It turns out that when you eat good sushi, you don't need soy sauce.

Very tasty sushi with fresh ingredients, large selection of food and drinks (you can also find what you're looking for as a vegetarian/vegan!). The service was very attentive and friendly, our orders were at the table quickly. The inner courtyard is also very nicely decorated, but you end up sitting a bit "on top of each other" as soon as it gets crowded. Unfortunately, the tables are very close together, so it is advisable to sit closer to the entrance door if you want to come during peak times. The restaurant is recommended, we will definitely come back!

Very nice restaurant with a great backyard that invites you to linger. The menu offers an extremely large selection. The dishes were extremely tasty. We really enjoyed it and would love to come back.

I recently visited Tanoshi and had a great experience. The atmosphere was cozy, with simple yet elegant decor. The sushi was fresh and skillfully prepared, offering a good range of options. The drinks menu was diverse, complementing the meal nicely. The service was very friendly. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience that I would recommend for sushi lovers.

The food was delicious, but the quantities are limited at 8 pieces, so if you want to try more than two types, you'll hardly be able to do it. My problem arose with the drink. The card said 0.2 Cola €3.20. I was given 0.4 without asking, which wasn't even on the card for a whopping €5.90 As if I was drinking so much coke at 9 p.m., especially since I assumed that a bottle of Coke Cola would be served. Instead it was just a glass - which Coke with how much caffeine was in it, I have no idea. I didn't drink it. At least 1/3 was left. It's now 3 a.m. and I'm still lying awake on a Monday - cheeky to serve sizes without asking that aren't even on the menu but not to bring what was there without comment And no, you don't feel like messing around with a waitress in front of others. I'm so annoyed that I don't want to see the inside of this restaurant again

Essen war lecker. Aber geärgert habe ich mich über die freche Handhabe mir eine grosse Cola 0,4 für 5,90€ zu servieren, die es gar nicht auf der Karte gibt. Dort gibt es nur 0,2 für 3,20€. Ich habe sie auch nicht ausgetrunken, ich will keinen halben liter cola abends um 20 Uhr trinken, noch möchte ich eine Scene machen - hätte ich andere Begleitung gehabt hätte ich diese Rechnung nicht bezahlt. Man kann nicht etwas ungefragt servieren, dass es gar nicht auf der Karte gibt und nicht bestellt wurde fuer fast den doppelten preis. Einfach frech

Very tasty sushi and very fast, friendly service.

The sushi is really delicious. We pointed out that we were allergic to gluten... we looked carefully at all the ingredients and allergies on the menu... when the sushi came, half of it was taken away because the mayo contains gluten... The menu is fine faulty, but this was presented as our mistake and not as the restaurant's mistake (didn't write the menu?) new sushi arrived, everything was great. We pointed out again that we need everything gluten-free. Our main course came, luckily I didn't like the sweet potatoes because when I was finished with my salmon the waiter came with rice and said I couldn't eat the other side dish because it had gluten in it. (I had already eaten some of it!!!!) All the waiters are now unfriendly (service isn't good anyway), our allergens were not addressed at all, allergies should always be taken seriously!! So if you have allergies you should ask and speak to them 5 times and not just 3 times.

As you know, as a top world traveler Google reviewer, I don't focus on too much negative, so I will start with the positive first! Great decore and atmosphere, Chef's had positive vibrations....on the other hand traveling through Germany I was told there was an Asian Fusion place I had to try. The service started out ok.. When I asked for fresh fruit drinks, I was told they have freshly made drinks with Asian fruit, no sugar added. When the beautiful drink came to the table, we asked again, is this a sugar drink and she explained well the mix they have is added sugar and she can not take it out. We kindly said no, thank you, we will have a beer. She snaged the drink back and never came back to the table. We received our beer and food from another waitress who didn't speak to us. The shrimp tempura was like frozen type shrimp. The beef was very tough and not too much flavor, and my friend had the salmon with fried sweet potatoes. Salmon was good fried sweet potatoes very greesey and heavy I would.ask about the oil. And to top it off, I had to go get her to get the bill, and she told me they do not take US bank or credit cards. It was not the best Asian food or service, but the decor was nice.

Such delicious sushi!! We had four different rolls and tempura prawns and what can I say? The salmon: buttery soft! The shrimp too and otherwise just delicious! A visit (or several) is worth it!

The best place of the sushi restaurants I know. I eat there regularly. If you want to criticize something (no reasons not to go there): Sushi is rather expensive, I (personally) don't find the ambience inside that cozy (great terrace in the courtyard in front of it) and only cash or EC card payments are accepted.

It was my first time in the Tanoshi Restaurant for 2 people, a reservation is recommended as it is well attended. The location is quite tricky as it is right next to the street, which makes parking a difficult issue. The staff at Tanoshii are quite friendly and approach guests. The atmosphere is small and compact at the same time, so there are a lot of tables in a small space, which feels overwhelming. If you think about dining in the evening, this is a bad decision because the interior is poorly lit, especially directly above the tables the lighting is very bad. You can see this clearly from my pictures, something needs to be done. Now on the subject of food & service, That's clear, a 5/5 🌟 Since we were very hungry, we took the sushi platter for 4 people for €109 and it was really worth it, everything was just right, the sushi was very tasty and the sushi rice 🍚 was really good. When we asked, the rest was packed up for us. Conclusion: High quality ingredients are used here and you get real sushi with sushi rice🍣 Nice sushi restaurant where you can spend a nice evening for two and a reservation is recommended. The staff should have a better command of the language as there were significant misunderstandings there too. When visiting in the evening, the lighting conditions are significantly poor, especially if you sit in the corner! You eat almost in the dark (potential for improvement #YES#, you just have to implement it) It is recommended because it is difficult to find good sushi 🍣 who know their craft

Service was great, but how little sushi there was with a roll for 17 euros. The other appetizer, sashimitartar, was also very small and full of mayonaise. As soon as it says Japanese, you pay twice as much in some stores. I'm not going there again.

In my opinion the best sushi in Cologne, lots to choose from, including unusual sushis. However, the location is not for wheelchair users, the toilet is in the basement (stairs only) and it is quite narrow between the tables

The restaurant is very stylishly decorated. The service is quick and friendly. There is enough to choose from, so we recommend simply taking a large plate and sharing it. The different variations are very nice to look at and taste good too. A small sauce is usually served with each dish or spread directly on the sushi. Of course there is also a vegetarian selection. Overall the visit was very enjoyable. The prices are already relatively high. You get great products in return.

We stopped by at lunchtime for a culinary stop and were not disappointed. The variants we chose were beautifully presented on a platter and prepared quickly. The prices are higher but definitely appropriate for the quality. We would love to come back…

Nice place, but it would be better if they add more traditional decorations to feel like Asia. And bigger portions of food :) if you are hungry - order double. For 2 sets of sushi, 2 soups and drinks we paid 60 euro

Went to Tanoshii's for the first time last night. And all in all it was a successful evening with delicious sushi. The atmosphere is very nice and inviting, the service was great and the sushi was excellent. The food menu is very diverse, with something for everyone. Highly recommended

Very good sushi and a great sashimi selection. Intolerance (avocado) was dealt with creatively and an additional roll that accidentally landed on the plate was given to us after a short discussion. The staff is very accommodating and the portions are large enough. We will be back!

Excelente sitio para desconectar y comer comida asiática fuera de los estándares. Gran acierto encontrar este sitio. No es barato pero merece mucho la pena una cena o comida en este restaurante.

Einfach nur absolut lecker und empfehlenswert.

Zum ersten mal besucht, aber sicher nicht das letzte mal.. auf Empfehlung meiner Schwester hingegangen und absolut überzeugt. Fischqualität top, Okonomiyaki, Gyozas und die 6 Sorten Fushion Sushi super. Mein persönliches Highlight waren die Secret Roll und die Fire Roll. Kimchi hätte für meinen persönlichen Geschmack noch schärfer sein dürfen und wenn der Service kurz das Bestellsystem mit den Zetteln erklären würde für neue Gäste wäre es nicht schlecht. Wir waren eingewiesen durch meine Schwester, aber nicht jeder neue Gast weiß da gleich Bescheid. Trotzdem sehr netter Laden, die beiden Damen im Service waren auch sehr höflich und fix unterwegs

Super coole Sushi. Ich kenne schon viele Arten, aber herausragende Sossen, Waygu in Sushi oder von aussen. Super Sache. Sehr zu empfehlen. Nicht ganz billig, aber top.

Alles Kaka! Alles schmeckt nicht und der Service ist echt schlecht. Ich habe Essen bestellt und erst eine Stunde später kam es!

Waren nach einigen Jahren wieder mal dort. Die Qualität des Essens ist gut, aber die Portionsgrößen wurden geschrumpft Preise dafür steil nach oben gezogen....( 5,90 für einen einzigen winzigen Yakitori-Spiess und 6,50 für drei winzige Mini-Frühlingsröllchen)...Und der Service...Welcher Service? Wir haben einmal Getränke bekommen, danach wurde nicht mehr gefragt.... Stattdessen haben wir mit leeren Gläsern vor abgegessenen Tellern gesessen... Sind dann schnell gegangen und trinken jetzt außerhalb weiter....

Sehr gutes Essen, sehr guter Service, sehr schönes Restaurant. Der Sushiladen schafft es endlich mal, das Sushi in einer angemessenen Temperatur zum Tisch zu bringen. Summer Rolls und Getränke waren auch top 👌🏼 #1 der mir bekannten Sushiläden.

Wir waren zum Abend bei Tanoshii und haben uns eine Sushiplatte plus warme Gerichte geteilt. Ich hatte als Dessert noch das matcha Creme Brûlée Uns hat alles sehr gut geschmeckt. Alle Mitarbeiter sind total freundlich und haben immer ein Lächeln auf dem Gewicht. Bei guten Wetter eignet sich auch der schöne Hinterhof zum sitzen

Irgendwie hat es leider stark nachgelassen. Der schöne Innenhof hat modrig gerochen. Dafür kann das Lokal ja vielleicht nichts, aber leider ist das Sushi nicht mehr wie damals. Geschmacklich schwach.

Einfach Wow! Wir sind spontan vorbei gekommen und waren geflashed. Lange nicht mehr so gut asiatische Küche gegessen. Hut ab! 🍱🤤

Preis Leistungsverhältnis mangelhaft, Essen war okay aber preislich nicht gerechtfertigt: Tofu durchgeweicht, Avocado hart und nicht reif, Ente besteht zu viel aus fett… Würde für den Preis nicht nochmal kommen. Wasser 0,75: 7€ ?

Sehr leckeres Sushi und tolle Gerichte. Das Tanoshii ist geschmacklich sehr gut und auch die Cocktails können überzeugen. Der Service konnte allerdings nicht unsere Bestellung für 10 Personen verarbeiten. Wir hatten sehr lange Wartezeit bis zu 1 Stunde und das Restaurant war sonst fast leer. Das Bestell System mit den Kärtchen mag bei kleinen Gruppen funktionieren aber für Größe Gruppen ist das nichts...

Sensationell leckeres Sushi! Habe bisher noch kein besseres gegessen! Wir haben ohne Reservierung im gemütlichen Innenhof gesessen, Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam! Wir kommen definitiv wieder!!!!

Essen war und ist super lecker und ausreichend. Die Menükarte muss mit einem Handy gescannt werden. Auf dem Tisch liegt ein Zettel auf dem man seine Menü-Nummer notiert und der Bedienung übergibt. Es gibt zu dem sehr interessante Eistee Sorten mit frischen Beeren, je nach Sorte auch mit Litschies und Minze. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Sushi lecker, Service leider sehr unaufmerksam und die Getränkeauswahl ist nicht wirklich uptodate. Kann man hingehen, aber gibt bei weitem bessere Optionen in Köln.

This place is really good, good variety of dishes and everything pretty well cooked and presented. 100% recommend to get the Gyozas as starter, the best I have ever eaten before. Only thing I did not like and this is just my opinion, it is that they don’t accept international cards (visa, Mastercard, etc). Either just cash or an specific German card.

Ich bin ein schwieriger Kunde dank viel besuchter Topkonkurrenz weltweit und das schon Jahrzehnte. Hier war alles von A-Z einfach 5* Niveau,ich habe wie meist von allen probiert,das Essen ist hervorragend,egal ob warm oder kalte Speisen. Dazu paßt der Service.Danke und auf Wiedersehen

Wir waren ohne Reservierung dort und hatten Glück einen Tisch zu bekommen. Der Service war hervorragend, super freundliches Personal. Das Essen war auch phantastisch, sehr lecker und toll angerichtet! Von mir gibt es 10 von 10 Punkte👍

Die Preise sind hier wirklich WUCHER! Die Special Rolls sind so groß wie Makis und kosten >15€ für 8 Stück. Dabei handelt es sich dabei nicht um krasse Kreationen, sondern um Standard-Sorten, die die meisten Sushiläden anbieten. Die Portion sowie der Geschmack des Lachstatars war ein Witz. 15€ für 2 mal Löffeln einer Mayopampe. Erstes und letztes Mal Tanoshii. Lieber zu Sweet Sushi, Mirai, Kaizen & Co. Da bekommt man etwas gescheites für sein Geld. 🫶

Das Restaurant ist schön eingerichtet und es herrscht eine gesellige Atmosphäre. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Bestellt wird über den QR Code und man schreibt sich die ausgewählten Sachen selbst auf einen Zettel. Wir haben nur Sushi bestellt, welches lecker war. Allerdings muss man betonen, dass die special Sushi Stücke sehr klein sind, für 13-18€ pro Rolle haben wir das alle als zu teuer empfunden. Die Makis waren angemessen groß. Man kann sicherlich mehr Reis nehmen, wenn der Fischanteil auch mehr wäre. Preis Leistungsverhältnis leider nicht empfehlenswert, da kenne wir es besser in vielen anderen Sushi Restaurants in Köln.

Wirklich (!) gutes Sushi! Hier versteht man sein Handwerk! Das Sushi mag hier etwas hochpreisiger sein, dafür bekommt man auch ordentliche Qualität geboten! Wir hatten diverse Gerichte bestellt (Sushi, Nigiri, Fusion Sushi...) und haben zum Teil echte Geschmacksexplosionen erlebt! Hier erhält man neben traditionellem Sushi und Okonomiyaki auch besondere Gerichte, wie z.B. Wagyu-Sushi! Und das wichtigste: Der Fisch war lecker und frisch! Das Personal war aufmerksam und freundlich, wir mussten nicht Ewigkeiten auf das Essen warten und haben auch ohne Reservierung einen Tisch drinnen bekommen. Das nächste Mal reservieren wir einen Tisch im hübschen Garten! Wir kommen gerne wieder! Edit: Auch beim zweiten Mal waren wir wieder sehr zufrieden! Geheimtipp: die Master Roll!!!

Noch nie so leckeres Sushi gegessen, sowohl frittiert als auch Maki sind sehr gut und harmonieren exzellent zur Chili Mayo, absolut empfehlenswert

Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und ruhig. Das Sushi einfach super lecker und man hat eine riesige Auswahl. Wir waren sehr begeistert und wollen nochmal kommen um den Rest zu probieren.

Tuesday afternoon sushi. Not-busy. Enjoyable gyoza, very small okonomiyaki, good poke bowl, good miso soup, good sushi rolls and okay Waygu on top. Would recommend to ask for side sauces for the poke bowl and a small portion of fine salt to compliment the Waygu nigiri.

Schöner Laden, netter und schneller Service. Grandioses Sushi in top Lage zu einem fairen Preis! Nur zu empfehlen, ob zum Essen vor Ort oder zum mitnehmen.

Es war sehr laut da das Lokal klein war und voll es wurde außer Haus geliefert von mehreren lieferdiensten essen hat lange gedauert es wurde meine Vorspeise vergessen aber was zu essen kam war lecker

Wir wurden in einem Restaurant noch nie so unhöflich behandelt, wie es heute der Fall war. Wir hatten für 3 Personen reserviert, waren dann aber doch nur zu zweit. Wir haben bei der Reservierung angegeben, dass wir nicht am Gang sitzen möchten. Als wir ankamen, wurden wir genau an den Tisch vor die Tür gesetzt. Der Kellner ist auf unsere Nachfrage nicht eingegangen und hat die Teller auf den Tisch gestellt und ist gegangen. Nach erneuter Rückfrage wurde wir damit abgespeist, dass wir ja nur zu zweit sind und das jetzt nun mal so ist und wir sonst gehen sollen. Ab da war für uns klar, dass wir dort nicht essen werden.
