5 stars because the price-performance ratio is excellent. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. I would improve the payment process: not accepting credit cards these days is unacceptable. The cards could also use replacing; some were quite dirty. We will gladly return.

Unfortunately, the rice wasn't really sushi rice. It was rather mushy with hard bits. The salmon in the maki was poorly cut and difficult to chew. The shrimp in the mango salad weren't as described or pictured. Overall, it wasn't worth the price and wasn't particularly well prepared. There are many better alternatives.

Unacceptable behavior. We were celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday and had reserved a table for five people for 6 p.m. First, we weren't served for ages. Then, at 7:30 p.m., we were rudely informed that we should leave at 7:45 p.m. because the table had been re-booked for 8 p.m. This wasn't mentioned in my reservation, so we were surprised to be practically kicked out. The waiters became increasingly frantic as 8 p.m. approached. The waitress who took our payment was like an unfriendly robot. The food was no better than at a decent fast-food place, and the atmosphere was completely tense. We wouldn't go back, even though the restaurant had been recommended to us several times.

I don't even know where to start - my visit to this sushi restaurant was simply terrible. As soon as you walk in, you're hit with this fishy, ​​musty smell, and that immediately takes away your desire to eat. How can that be? In a sushi restaurant, fresh fish should be the basis! But things got worse. The fish tasted old, kind of tough and just unpleasant. You sit there and ask yourself whether they are really serious. I was actually looking forward to a cozy evening, but instead I sat around for ages waiting for my food. It took what felt like forever, and when it finally arrived, the plate was as disappointing as the smell in the store. To make matters worse, they don't accept credit cards - honestly, who does that anymore? The prices are really outrageous for what they serve, and they also make paying complicated. The staff? Totally uninvolved and almost annoyed. You feel like they don't really care about you. That was the first and definitely the last time I was here. If you want a nice evening, you should give this restaurant a wide berth!

Last night, a few colleagues and I went to Tanoshii. I was absolutely thrilled with the food. From the presentation to the taste, everything was fantastic. The sushi was delicious and the quality was simply top-notch. We had a wonderful evening there. The service was also excellent. It was reasonably busy, but everyone still received our full attention. We'd be happy to come back.

Slightly on the pricey side, but there are plenty of sushi options to choose from. We tried the rainbow roll, spider roll, scallop temaki, and a maki roll with fatty tuna and grilled scallop as a starter. Personally, I didn’t enjoy the fatty tuna maki—it had a thick layer of fat on top, reminiscent of pork belly, which isn’t to my taste. That said, everything else was delicious. My favorite was the rainbow roll—it offers a variety of fish in one roll, making it both flavorful and interesting.

We recently visited this restaurant and were very impressed! The atmosphere is cozy, the interior is tastefully designed without being over the top. The service is excellent: the staff are polite, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. My partner and I were in Cologne over the weekend and were craving sushi. This restaurant popped up on Google. We received a very warm welcome; despite not having a reservation, we were given a table for two hours. The staff were super friendly. Huge selection of sushi. We'll be back. What we personally loved was that the starter didn't even arrive for 10 minutes. And we didn't have to wait long for our food.

We came for lunch, and it was quite quiet. The quality of the sushi was good, but unfortunately, we were unlucky with the sashimi, which was a bit tough. Overall, the food was good; it's not very cozy, but it was okay. The service wasn't very attentive; we had to make ourselves known several times.

We used the delivery service for a business meeting. The service was very friendly, and everything went smoothly. The delivery arrived right on time. Because there were some ambiguities regarding the order, they even called to check. I highly recommend Tanoshii. We'll order again at our next meeting.

This restaurant apparently specializes only in sushi. We had dishes with chicken, tofu, and duck. The salad tasted moldy. The duck was completely fried, and the rice and the entire meal tasted far too sugary. The chicken was simply inedible. This restaurant might be a good alternative for sushi, but for other food (see photo), the quality is unfortunately just not good. The service was quite nice.

First of all, let's start with the appetizers. The Sweet Potato Fries were incredibly good. Deep fried in a kind of tempura batter. I haven't known it in this form before. The Spicy Edamame was pretty basic, unfortunately some salt was missing. Let's get to the more important part: the sushi itself wasn't bad. We personally liked the Fire Roll, Crispy Tuna Roll and the Philadelphia Roll. At times the sushi was falling apart a bit. In my opinion, not everything rolled perfectly. In terms of taste, everything is definitely green. The service was also good. The highlight, however, was clearly the interior. Especially in the idyllic, beautifully furnished and quiet outdoor area at the back of the restaurant. Definitely unique among sushi restaurants. Overall worth a visit. However, I was missing that very special something. Would I visit this restaurant again? Of course.

Sushi rolls, the menu, soup - everything was very tasty. We didn't like the sesame ice cream and the mango panna cotta (?), but we otherwise really like it. Service was super nice. Relaxed atmosphere for a nice evening. We will come back.

The best sushi I've ever eaten. We eat a lot of sushi and spend quite a bit on it. But the quality and taste here were truly phenomenal! I don't have a single criticism (except that I had to stop eating at some point). We even ordered something else (the scallops from the starter menu). I don't think I've ever eaten anything as tender as these mussels. The food was absolutely, without exception, delicious. We found the sushi very good. We also found the service good, the drinks arrived quickly. You write down the numbers yourself on a piece of paper, which I wouldn't criticize at all, but a short instruction (that you should write down the numbers there and can give drinks straight away) when we were brought to the table might have been nice. But that doesn't give a deduction. There is a deduction because the inside of the menu and the table were unfortunately a bit sticky. For a decently priced restaurant I would certainly expect this not to be the case and the menus and tables to be impeccably clean.

Service is unfortunately very hectic and fast, no credit card payment is a no go.

Das Tanoshiis ist wirklich ein Abendessen wert. Ich, als "Nicht-Suhi-Esser", bin mit meinen Gerichten trotzdem sehr zufrieden gewesen! Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und echt auf Zack, obwohl das Haus brechend voll war. Die Bestellung muss man selbst auf einen Notizzettel schreiben den die Bedienung einsammelt und obwohl jeder eine Vorspeise, einen Hauptgang und eine Nachspiese bestellte, kam jedes Gericht perfekt getaktet nachdem man das vorhergehende Gericht aufgegessen hatte. Alles in allem war das Essen super lecker, heiß und frisch gemacht. Einziger Nachteil war die etwas dunkle Beleuchtung, wodurch das Essen nicht so schön zur Geltung kam und die enorme Lautstärke im Restaurant, weil sehr viele Leute im Restaurant saßen. Dies wurde aber besser, als es sich zur späteren Stunde leerte.

We were in summer here and sat in the inside terrace, it was very nice. Sushi is fresh and nicely portioned. Desserts were also tasty and not too sweet. Came back today in winter time for warm food, i would recommend the miso salmon with sweet potato fries. Ordering online is also quick and tasty.

Sushi was really good, but service could be improved. No card payment possible with credit card or debit (and that in 2024...). A tip was also calculated on the bill before paying - uncool and somehow shady. Waitress also extremely hectic. As soon as she's there, she's gone again.

The sushi quality can certainly keep up with that of a good Japanese restaurant. Since me and my wife are the only active sushi lovers and our children have tested the other dishes on the menu, I can say that five stars are appropriate. There was nothing to complain about. The service was also very good. The prices were decent, but that is probably partly due to the location in the Belgian quarter. You are definitely full.

We ordered the starter: okonomiyaki shrimp, the main course: sushi platter Romantic Date for 2 and finally Macha Creme Brülee and Sweet Tanoshii. But you should reserve the table (we did), otherwise you may not get a seat. Super recommended.

Our favorite sushi place in the city. They have a very large selection including a few authentic pieces that are relatively rare in Europe, like unagi and wagyu nigiri. They also have fried and warm rolls, which may not be authentic Japanese but sometimes it just hits the spot. The main dishes we tried are also excellent. The atmosphere is elegant, but relaxed enough to go there with children.

By far the best “Fusion Sushi” in Cologne. Not only is the quality of the food (including the fish) really good, but above all the price-performance ratio is absolutely convincing! I can especially recommend the lunch menu on weekdays, the bestseller plate is always very good too! The service is okay and the atmosphere is nice too (the courtyard is nice in summer), but the special thing is definitely the sushi! The sushi creations are all fun and addictive at the same time, the service in the evening is charming, competent and always attentive. The small, distinctive courtyard summer terrace is perfect for romantic dinner time. Yes, there is a lot of competition in the city now - but if you want an all-round exciting sushi experience with a still spectacular price-performance ratio: head to Tanoshii! A little tip: be sure to reserve terrace seats for the evening! Oh yes: there is also delicious warm food...

The food is fresh, especially the sushi is heavenly, the service is friendly, courteous and fast. About the price: Sushi is not one of the cheapest dishes anyway, and Tanoshii doesn't change that. They are actually regular customers. However, the last visit was a disaster - not because of the food, but the absolutely miserable service. First we weren't served at all for half an hour and we carefully asked if there was a lot going on, whereupon the waitress said "no, not really" (yes, great, then served and please?), then we had to keep placing orders order more at the counter, things were forgotten. When asked at the end if everything was okay, we said "No", the answer was "Aha." Ask what was wrong: Apparently not necessary. And then paid €170 for 3 people... No, sorry Tanoshii, we're used to it differently. We're now looking at alternatives and maybe try it again next year.

Sushi is great, lots of choice of fish and seafood, but the prices are all too high, especially nigiri, flambee, temaki, sashimi and main courses. Service staff are friendly and attentive, dishes can easily be adapted to individual taste preferences. No shop for people with dietary restrictions e.g. gluten intolerance or vegans.

We have been enjoying eating here regularly for years. The service is always very friendly and the sushi is extremely high quality. The "Romantic Dinner Date for Two" platter is a great mix of sashimi, nigiri, makis and rolls that will definitely feed two adults at a very fair price. The platter for 4 people is also phenomenal. The starters and main courses are also very tasty, although the sushi is simply a must. At lunchtime there are also great dishes for €13. Tanoshii is by far the best sushi/Asian-fusion restaurant in Cologne.

The inner courtyard is also very nicely decorated, but you end up sitting a bit "on top of each other" as soon as it gets crowded. Unfortunately, the tables are very close together, so it is advisable to sit closer to the entrance door if you want to come during peak times. The restaurant is recommended, we will definitely come back!

The food was delicious, but the quantities are limited at 8 pieces, so if you want to try more than two types, you'll hardly be able to do it. My problem arose with the drink. The card said 0.2 Cola €3.20. I was given 0.4 without asking, which wasn't even on the card for a whopping €5.90 As if I was drinking so much coke at 9 p.m., especially since I assumed that a bottle of Coke Cola would be served. Instead it was just a glass - which Coke with how much caffeine was in it, I have no idea. I didn't drink it. At least 1/3 was left. It's now 3 a.m. and I'm still lying awake on a Monday - cheeky to serve sizes without asking that aren't even on the menu but not to bring what was there without comment And no, you don't feel like messing around with a waitress in front of others. I'm so annoyed that I don't want to see the inside of this restaurant again
