Diesen Restaurant haben wir ausgesucht (per Google), weil wir gerne asiatisch essen, und weil hier Buffet angeboten wird. Leider war es eine große Enttäuschung... Richtige Buffet ist es nicht. Dessert muss man extra bezahlen (nicht gerade günstig). Die Schälchen mit dem Essen werden zunächst abgewogen (roh!), danach gegrillt.. Da muss man noch eine Schlange stehen, wegen Abwiegen. Es waren 3 Marinaden zur Auswahl da, wir haben süß - sauer genommen. Nach dem Grillen könnte man im Essen keinen Geschmack von Marinade zu spüren, einfach nur würzlos. Bei einer von uns sind die Tintenringe im Teller nach dem Grillen halbroh geblieben. Auf den Tischen stehen kein Salz, keine Soja Soße. Das kennen wir von anderen asiatischen Restaurants nicht. Wegen dem Salz und den Messern haben wir eine Servicekraft gefragt. Ich besorge es! - hat sie gesagt, und war weg. Letztendlich, hat eine von uns das alles selber holen müssen. Super Service! Getränke (hausgemachte Limonade) war überteuert und schmeckte nicht. Zum "guten" Schluß, wir haben ewig auf die Rechnung gewartet, sind dann nach vorn gegangen und bezahlt. Enttäuschung pur! Einmal und nie wieder.

Mixed feelings. It's sort of all-you-can-eat, but everything is freshly grilled instead of served. This promises better quality than keeping it warm, but at the same time ensures that you can't bring your own plate to your table. No (cold) appetizers, no sushi, no salad bar, and no dessert for €35 per person, I find it cheeky. Despite the quality of the fish, meat, and vegetables. It's also quite loud due to all the walking around and the crowds. Overall, disappointing for the price.

This is a great Asian Buffet where you can choose from a huge variety of vegetables, noodles, rice, salads, meats and fish. There are many sauces and spices that you can choose from. They serve until 22:30.

Very tasty food in a very pleasant atmosphere. The servers are friendly, courteous, and very helpful. One of the few Asian restaurants where many dishes are also available gluten-free.

Loud, expensive, chaotic – unfortunately never again Our visit to Mongo's in Deutz was stressful from the start - and that started with the completely desolate parking situation. There are hardly any free parking spaces in the area, and even paid options were completely overcrowded. Anyone traveling by car needs strong nerves and a lot of patience - or a plan B. In the restaurant itself the atmosphere was anything but pleasant. Due to a kind of bachelor party it was extremely loud and conversations at the table were hardly possible. In addition, there was a very limited selection of ingredients and a lack of sauces for dipping - which is particularly disappointing given the price level. For the money you get significantly more quality and variety elsewhere. Another negative point was the condition of the toilets: absolutely unhygienic and unreasonable - a place that you wouldn't even want to enter. The only bright spot was the service: the employees were friendly, attentive and tried very hard. Big praise for that. Nevertheless, the overall impression was so negative that we definitely won't be coming back.

Jad's service was outstanding, unfortunately the food wasn't as good as expected. Unfortunately the scampis were empty at 8 p.m. on a Saturday evening… Unfortunately, far too much sauce was used. But Jad’s recommendations were great!

Here you are a lot of your luck at the ingredient buffet, but the conditions are varied and high quality, which is a joy. Delicious, varied food, plus very attentive and good-humored service from Pierre-René, even though the restaurant was full. Thanks and full marks for that, five guests had a great evening...!

We made a reservation relatively spontaneously with a group of 21 people and I have to say... we were all thrilled. Maxi looked after us very well from the start. He explained the concept to us, was super friendly and patient, quick and was able to remember the orders from the entire table. Everything came to the table very quickly and without errors. The service team did a really great job. I have rarely experienced such great service from such a large group. The food was great. Everything fresh, large selection, very tasty sauces and worth every cent. We can definitely recommend it. Thank you, Maxi!!!

We were there this evening in a closed group of 20 people and can recommend it to everyone, from the service to the private waiter, everything was great. Nice atmosphere and very good service. The dessert was really great, but the main courses in the form of self-assembled bowls were not grilled or cooked in a balanced way: while the vegetables, for example, were nice and crunchy, the squid rings, for example, were still almost raw. In addition, the marinades had hardly any flavor or seasoning, so I had to season them properly. The drinks were relatively expensive.

Great restaurant. It is definitely worth visiting. The staff is very helpful and will advise on the selection of not only the sauce. Even the one who likes it very sharp will like it. The different types of meat and side dishes taste very good indeed. I can definitely recommend it. A previous reservation is also worthwhile. I will definitely be happy to visit here again.

At the very beginning, I have rarely seen such friendly and top service!! E.g. My son can't eat dairy ice cream and he suddenly had sorbet from the kitchen. The concept is great and the selection of ingredients is very diverse. We had zebra, moose and ostrich. All ingredients are fresh and stored on ice. Also ideal for hungry teenagers. Bravo... this makes eating out fun

Highly recommended! If you want to put together your meal individually, this is the right place for you. After you have decided on one of 8 sauces, you go to the “fresh counter” and fill your bowl with fresh vegetables, meat and fish and send it to the kitchen to fry. A few minutes later you can look forward to a freshly fried meal. We'll definitely be back.

We were there on Tuesdays and in addition to the food flat rate there was also a drinks flat rate with all common drinks, but no cocktails were included. The service was really quick and attentive, the buffet has a really large selection, the different sauces are great and there is something for every taste. Really recommended!

Somehow nothing half and nothing whole. The selection of ingredients is good but the standard sauces don't make it a real dish. Just not my thing.

We were there for the first time yesterday and loved it! At the beginning we were a bit overwhelmed because we weren't familiar with the concept; but after a very friendly staff member explained to us what our options were (also the best for the vegan in our group) everything was easy. There is a huge selection of ingredients, always fresh, which you can put together as you wish. The food is then freshly prepared and, what can I say, simply delicious! Special consideration is given to guests with allergies, vegans or vegetarians; you are welcome to wait a moment longer for your food as the staff clean everything beforehand. Top service, top food, I'm already looking forward to the next visit! :)

It's all ok! But the process still reminds me a bit of the cafeteria at my university... only narrower, louder and warmer! But who likes that?! Maybe it's better to take noise canling headphones with you! That would somehow fit into our times... there is less of a private atmosphere...

The food was really good. Fresh, large selection, lots of customers. The employees are friendly and seem quite professional, even at this speed. We only ate vegetables and salmon. Super tasty. As an allergy sufferer you are given even more respect, which we thought was great. Even as vegans, the chefs make sure that they prepare it separately. Nothing to complain about!!!

The overall verdict in advance: very good! Anytime and gladly again! There were two of us with a dog and they reserved a four-person table for us, even though the restaurant was very full. Top! The service from our waiters was exemplary, very friendly, well explained and absolutely attentive. You put together your own food in a bowl at the buffet. Beforehand, you choose a sauce from the menu as the main flavor at the table, then it is prepared and brought to the table. The quality was super fresh, the selection was very large and the food was very tasty. You can go to the buffet as often as you like and choose a different sauce, i.e. a different flavor, for each course. The preparation time was short despite the many guests. If you allow five minutes for the buffet selection, 10 minutes for the preparation and 15 minutes for a leisurely meal, you can expect about half an hour for each course. With a reservation time of 2 hours per table (as stated in the confirmation email), you can get by well, but we didn't have the impression that our service staff would have driven us away if we had needed longer. I only deducted a partial star from the “ambience” for the noise level, which is almost unavoidable given the restaurant concept. We were there on a Tuesday and on the occasion of a birthday, which means that you have "all you can eat" and as the birthday child you only pay half price. But even at full price, the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. What I paid here (Tuesday!) for two people, I pay per person elsewhere. Top recommendation!

Decent food, but way overpriced for what you get. I had Thai noodles. If I were to cook something like that for myself at home, I'd eat it, but I certainly wouldn't be proud of it. And I certainly wouldn't serve it to guests. The noodles were bland and flavorless. Absolutely not what you'd expect from Thai cuisine. The ambiance is okay, but you can't have a conversation there because the noise level is too loud. I, for one, tried Mongo's once. I don't need to have it again.

Although the store is large and busy (hence only 4 stars for the ambience), the waiters were extremely attentive and efficient; the food came very quickly and everything was perfect. I was here again after many years and have to say that the offerings and quality of the food are great and worth every penny. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the beer prices; they were excessive.

Thrown out of the store hungry. We went there with a group (about 20 people). We had reserved. The store was very busy and we all had to wait in line for a long time to get our food ready. Since you usually go several times and get new dishes, it naturally takes a little longer. Not everyone was finished eating and full when a slightly annoyed waiter pointed out to us that the table would soon be reserved for the next group. Maybe the store should rethink its organization if they're kicking people out before they're full. Or maybe that's the business model so you don't have to spend too many ingredients...

Very large selection of vegetables and meat. You put together your own bowl and everything is freshly prepared. Nice selection of delicious marinades. Very nice courteous service. I was also more than pleasantly surprised by the dessert plate. Very very tasty. Points are deducted for the ambience. Everything is very narrow and therefore a bit uncomfortable.

Good all-you-can-eat option close to the trade fair. A fair choice of asian ingredients and meats for different tastes and a competitive price for Cologne. We definitely were full after eating there, but specific demands may be simply ignored by the staff. I am following a specific diet, after telling one of the staff about this issue, she just went away and someone else served us for the rest of our stay. The first bowl was prepared according to my diet and I enjoyed it much, the second however was not and plenty of stuff I did not choose was suddenly part of my bowl, I lost appetite and went away, the staff seemed indifferent.

We had a great evening! The team at Mongos guided us through the evening in a very courteous and friendly manner. The food was delicious and all of our questions were answered. We'd love to come back!

The service was very friendly and explained everything well to us and recommended marinades. The food was delicious and fresh. Unfortunately it was quite busy and therefore a bit loud and busy. But the food and the rest of the atmosphere made up for it. We'll be back.

We were with a group of 9 people and had a very nice evening with great, exceptional food. The contact with Mongo's team was very nice and amusing. They explain their food and the special features to us and always had a cool saying on their lips. The dessert “Vanilla Ice Cream Fried” was hard to beat.

Cool & cozy restaurant. If you want a quiet evening it might not be the first choice but I think the concept is great and just a nice change. Not exactly cheap but completely ok. Great selection at the buffet and generally there are interesting dishes on the menu that you don't see presented too often.

The restaurant was very busy and you have to make a reservation. There is a wide variety of choices at the buffet to get the bowls ready, but given the large number of people, the tongs should be replaced more often. I didn't like the frozen sliced ​​meat in bowls at all as the bowls were extremely full and weren't properly refrigerated. I would go again, of course, but to eat more vegetables, as there is plenty of choice. The dessert, the fried vanilla ice cream, was amazing. Super tasty and huge.

I'll start with the positive: Mongos is hyped in certain circles, so you can brag when you say: I was at Mongos. And the service was really nice and quick! The restaurant and sanitary rooms were clean by Cologne standards. Are there any negatives? Hmm, let's think about it... You spend around 40 to 50 euros per person until you are full. "All you can eat costs 32 euros, but without drinks and without desserts. And if you want to eat a salad, it costs extra, because putting together a salad at the fresh ingredient buffet is almost impossible: the ingredients are selected to be fried. In return you get a canteen with super tight seating. If you stretch out your hand, you can take food from all neighboring tables. It is correspondingly loud. Of course, music is still playing; But you can't hear them as much because the noise of conversation drowns out everything. You fill your bowl and bring it to the counter. Then it is fried and brought to the table: the result looks a bit like Chappi in a dog bowl. Visually it's a disaster: nothing nicely draped. But the taste is great, right? Well, that's how it works. Unfortunately, since everything is fried together, it also creates a flavor mush. The concept of mongo doesn't allow you to create a plate that works with different consistencies and tastes. But the main problem is: meat and fish are only average. It all sounds exotic; but the quality is just mediocre; the meat is slightly tough, the fish has no aroma. But hey! We had a really excellent and lovely evening at Mongo’s in Cologne Deutz! We were here with around 30 work colleagues and have been going out to eat together once a year for many years and have rarely visited such a great location as Mongo's in Cologne Deutz! The food was excellent and the service was more than accommodating. From the reservation to the bill, everything was extremely well organized and we felt absolutely in good hands! At this point, many thanks to the service team, and last but not least, thank you Pascal! We will definitely come back!

We ate at Mongos on Tuesday and unfortunately had a table near the passage. Since it was very full, we had a lot of walking around the table, but our waiter Pierre-René sweetened our evening. He was very attentive and super accommodating and had an insider tip in store for us (grilled pineapple with a little cinnamon). Many thanks to Pierre-René, a waiter who understands service!!

We were supposed to pay about €8 more per person afterwards, even though we just didn't want any soup and wanted to go straight to the buffet. When we asked, we got the money back and the service team was also accommodating. However, we would have liked such advice when ordering, so we feel a little ripped off :)

Insgesamt war es gut. Für eine "sehr gut" Note hat es das gewisse "Mehr" einfach nicht geschafft. Es war ein besonderer Anlass, Geburtstag, und der Service könnte besser sein. Klar, unser Kellner hat natürlich gratuliert. Er war wirklich gut, sympathisch und freundlich. Wir waren zufrieden. Das Essen war gut, die Auswahl war gut und es wurde auch relativ schnell zubereitet. Positiv überrascht war ich vom Lärmpegel, es war für einen Freitagabend angenehm. Es war nicht so voll, was ich für mich gut fand, aber vielleicht nicht so gut für das Lokal. Was mir weniger gefallen hat, sind die Tische (wir saßen an den langen Tischen im hinteren Bereich). Das erinnert mich irgendwie an eine Kantine. Ich würde da nicht mehr sitzen wollen. An den Tischen passen drei Personen je Seite. Wenn es eine Gruppe ist, ist das ja in Ordnung, aber ich denke, es würde auch mehr Personen passen. Wenn aber komplett fremde Menschen nebeneinander sitzen müssen, ist das nicht so toll. Ich habe bewusst nicht das Brauhaus oder das "Vapiano" gewählt, da ich dort nicht so sitzen möchte. Wir hatten "Glück" auf der einen Seite war der Gang und wir hatten keine Nachbarn. Für einen besonderen Anlass war die Platzierung nicht so gut. Alles in allem war es ein guter Abend, aber nichts Besonderes.

Selten so ein lockeres und lustiges Personal erlebt. Das macht viel aus und man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Danke an das Team!

I have drunk several, some of which have nothing to do with what they actually mean. The audience is very homogeneous, mostly larger groups and everything has a “canteen” feel. It's super tight, huge queues at the buffet similar to an all-inclusive hotel in Mallorca and the people who eat there are similar. There is much better in Cologne for the price. Too bad
