Whenever I try all-you-can-eat options, they often turn out a bit disappointing, and this place was no exception. The bread and the soup were tasty and the food overall was fine. The selection of vegetables was okay, though the coriander was quite dry. There were also some unusual items on the menu, like zebra and kangaroo. I tried a small piece out of curiosity, but it felt a bit strange and uncomfortable. My second round arrived about 10 minutes after everyone else had finished, and unfortunately it was burned and not tasty, so I left it. The shiitake sauce was good, but I didn’t care for the rosemary flavor. The service wasn’t very attentive, though I think the whole system is probably too complicated and overwhelming for the staff. The lemonade also wasn’t to my taste.

Today was my first time at Mongos and I can highly recommend it. Especially the young man named Nico!! Very courteous and provided outstanding service. I haven't experienced anything like it in a long time. This is the kind of service I really wish for.

Most of their food has no taste , also the grill meat 🥓 🍖 served in a sup bowl 🍜 Can Not really call this place a restaurant it's okay to be called Imbis. The price for what we have got too much. I hope they will do some improvements.

This place is overly expensive and not Mongolian at all. I ordered the mongo‘s salad for 9€ expecting something above average but received solely a bowl of plain green lettuce with 3 cherry tomatoes and a few soybean sprouts. The waiter tried to convince me to take the menu for 28€, he insisted heavily that it would be cheaper, which was absolutely untrue. On top of that, he misunderstood my drink and acted as if I pronounced incorrectly. My friends chose the buffet, which was totally westernised with very few options. The only Asian ingredients were Chinese cabbage and soy sauce.. the Chilis were not even spicy. There were also zero Asian or vegan desserts. It’s basically a German restaurant made for Germans only, trying to sell themselves as something different while mixing all Asian cuisine/culture in one pot. I do not recommend.

We were here with a group of nine people and had a very pleasant evening with great, truly exceptional food. The interaction with the Mongo's team was very friendly and entertaining. They explained their food and its special features to us and always had a cool saying. The dessert, "fried vanilla ice cream," was hard to beat.

You're greeted very warmly right away, and the house is very tidy and beautifully decorated, with a large selection of vegetables, mushrooms, fish, and meat. There were also various desserts to choose from. Our server, Pierre-René, was super friendly and welcoming, as well as very attentive. Overall, we were very satisfied with everything.

A lovely spot with an interesting “eat as much as you can” concept! The selection is mostly Asian cuisine — perfect for those who love these flavors. There’s a great variety of seafood and meat dishes, and on Sundays they even set up a dessert table, which is a nice bonus. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. We were here for brunch on Sunday evening. The selection was huge and the food was delicious. Despite the AYCE, the communal bar allowed for more concurrent conversations. Starting at 10 p.m., when the kitchen closed, there was a bit of a rush—but before that, everything was very pleasant. It was surprisingly affordable for what was offered, especially since it included sparkling water. Other reviews mentioned 'no desserts'—but on our visit, there was actually a selection of fruit, ice cream, crème brûlée, mini donuts, and waffles with cherries (although the waffles could have been prepared better).

Such a fantastic restaurant, it's truly run with a lot of heart. You'll receive a very friendly welcome, have a dedicated server throughout the evening, and it's a pleasure to watch how the team understands each other so well and works hand in hand. They juggle trays with a smile on their faces. Nothing is too much; you can't help but feel at home as a guest. Stella is such a lovely person, humorous, funny, helpful, and very likeable. 🥰 The food is amazing. So delicious. After living abroad for 17 years, I returned for the first time. The food was delicious and the waitress, in our case "Stella," was very friendly, charming, humorous, quick, always attentive to her guests, but not intrusive. She gave us good recommendations regarding the sauces. She contributed greatly to the success of our evening! All of her colleagues were also very friendly and accommodating. You could tell that everyone got along well, worked together, and supported each other! We will definitely come back and recommend it to others. First of all, a huge compliment to the service team. I've rarely seen such a well-coordinated and cheerful team. Especially Stella, our server. No matter how busy it was, no matter what time of day, she was always in a good mood and super friendly. Thank you so much, Stella and your team. Oh, and yes, the food was super delicious and everything was fresh at the buffet. Unfortunately, it's quite loud there. So not for a romantic evening. But still definitely recommended. This place feels very young and energetic. The waiters were very thorough in explaining how to get your food. The vegetables, seafood, and meat all looked very fresh. I give the overall service a 5/5! "Mongolian BBQ" actually originated in Taiwan; I've been eating there since the 1980s. So when there are "similar" restaurants in other countries, it's hard not to compare them based on my experience... Basically, the ones I've had in the US have been pretty mediocre and completely subpar. The German version, at least, has different sauces and more vegetables to choose from. This might be more appealing to foreigners. For me, it was just a new experience. Overall, it's just okay. I recommend it to anyone looking for something different!

The food is very good. There's something for everyone. However, when it's busy, it takes longer to prepare. Unfortunately, I think the prices are a bit too high. The service is quite good, but could be better. Last time, the server was overly friendly. After we paid, the person didn't even look at us again. I would definitely come back. I would even come back more often, but as already mentioned, the prices are just too high to warrant frequent visits.

This was our first time at this restaurant and we were truly impressed. The welcome was very friendly – ​​our waiter, Pascal, served us attentively and courteously throughout the evening. You can tell that the focus here is on the guest. We particularly liked the concept of choosing your own fresh, raw ingredients. Our chosen dishes were then freshly seared for us. The selection beyond the main courses was also excellent: the buffet of starters and desserts offered a wide variety, so there was truly something for every taste. Another plus point is the excellent value for money. It's particularly worth mentioning that as much water as you want is included – a nice touch that shouldn't be taken for granted. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back!

I've been there many times. The food is good. Unfortunately, the concept hasn't evolved significantly over the years. It's often very crowded. Tables are very close together.

Very nice restaurant. We've been here more than 10 times. The Sunday brunch is highly recommended. New: Filter coffee and sparkling water included, as of August 2025. Children up to 6 years old are free! Very fair. Very friendly service, drinks and food are delicious and fresh. Unique sauces, great desserts. There's something for everyone. Parking is available in the nearby Triangel parking garage, but it's not cheap.

First of all: I've been to Mongos several times and can definitely recommend this restaurant and its concept. The only possible drawback, in my opinion, might be the rather high price of €32 per person for the all-inclusive buffet. This includes a small, delicious starter soup with bread and a bowl of rice, as well as the all-you-can-eat option with the buffet's signature spice blends and marinades, from which you could theoretically choose a different one each round. Alternatively, there's the à la carte option, as well as the option to eat at the buffet, where you're charged by the gram, which might be a bit cheaper for those on a tight budget. The buffet itself is truly diverse, and for those who find the preparation of the selected ingredients by the in-house chefs takes too long, there's an extensive second buffet where everything is already ready to eat. It's often very busy, but the waiters usually have everything under control and try to please everyone. All that remains to say is that I recommend everyone finish eating by 10:00 PM. After that, people are busy cleaning and don't have time to serve themselves. Filter coffee and sparkling water are included in the buffet price.

Truly fantastic service! I'd especially like to highlight Pierre-Rene, who is incredibly dedicated and motivated – you immediately feel like you're in good hands. There's also a very nice extra for birthday children, which makes the visit even more special. Highly recommended!

It's quite okay. The restaurant's condition and maintenance aren't exactly top-notch. The windows are filthy as hell, but the food was okay. The waitresses rarely show up and don't ask if there's anything missing or anything else. There's still plenty of room upstairs. The buffet idea is good, but the food isn't great for the price. Moreover, it sometimes took 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Furthermore, we had to ask for the bill three times, which meant we missed two trains.

A visit was interesting to try, but I wouldn't choose it again. The price-performance ratio seems a bit too high considering the quality and preparation of the food. During busy times, you can expect a wait of about 15–20 minutes. The explanation of the menu selection was unfortunately insufficient. Some of the meat was not optimally prepared and was still raw. In addition, the noise level was quite high, and the tables are very close together. Desserts are not offered, and drinks must be paid for separately.

We where waiting for 40 minutes until somebody came to the table and when we ordered our drinks it took them another half hour to bring them. Definitely dont come here if you want to still feel some happiness. But i think they have some slight mental illnesses or some stuff so yeah.

The food is always fresh, delicious, and personalized – nothing is left to be desired. For us, it's always a thoroughly enjoyable visit. The highlight, of course, is always the Sunday brunch.

We were here for brunch on a Sunday. The welcome and the explanation of the restaurant were great👍🏻. We were most impressed by the Mongolian grill. We ordered smaller portions to our heart's content and enjoyed it every time. Sometimes there's a long line for ingredients because you have to read and make decisions. Everything seemed fresh and of good quality. The sauces were okay. I preferred adding spices at the stations at the end. The dessert selection was good, but not Asian. We didn't like the soup. The vegetable broth was half-pureed and lacked flavor. The salads were dressed with mayonnaise, which neither of us liked 🥲. The prepared dishes (gyoza, fried noodles, shrimp in batter, spring rolls) were ordinary. The atmosphere in the restaurant is inviting, and it doesn't get too loud when there are more guests. Unless individual visitors decide to protest against the appropriate noise level, for which the restaurant is not responsible. The online reservation worked perfectly. The price of the brunch included filter coffee and water – we thought that was great. Overall, a good place to try for different tastes and for a longer stay, even for families.

Everything started perfectly, service was friendly and very accommodating. From 10 p.m. onwards it was a case of leaving, no one was to be seen, all the staff were busy clearing up. There was no second drink in sight, and I had to summon a waitress after a while. Ordered dessert, but asked for the bill after 35 minutes. Apparently the ticket machine in the kitchen was broken because of dessert. I overheard the waitresses talking to each other, "Hey, you forgot dessert." We're not stupid, just be honest, mistakes happen. I recommend everyone finish eating by 10 p.m.

Diesen Restaurant haben wir ausgesucht (per Google), weil wir gerne asiatisch essen, und weil hier Buffet angeboten wird. Leider war es eine große Enttäuschung... Richtige Buffet ist es nicht. Dessert muss man extra bezahlen (nicht gerade günstig). Die Schälchen mit dem Essen werden zunächst abgewogen (roh!), danach gegrillt.. Da muss man noch eine Schlange stehen, wegen Abwiegen. Es waren 3 Marinaden zur Auswahl da, wir haben süß - sauer genommen. Nach dem Grillen könnte man im Essen keinen Geschmack von Marinade zu spüren, einfach nur würzlos. Bei einer von uns sind die Tintenringe im Teller nach dem Grillen halbroh geblieben. Auf den Tischen stehen kein Salz, keine Soja Soße. Das kennen wir von anderen asiatischen Restaurants nicht. Wegen dem Salz und den Messern haben wir eine Servicekraft gefragt. Ich besorge es! - hat sie gesagt, und war weg. Letztendlich, hat eine von uns das alles selber holen müssen. Super Service! Getränke (hausgemachte Limonade) war überteuert und schmeckte nicht. Zum "guten" Schluß, wir haben ewig auf die Rechnung gewartet, sind dann nach vorn gegangen und bezahlt. Enttäuschung pur! Einmal und nie wieder.

The food tastes great! Despite the full house, the staff was super friendly and took their time with each table. The ambiance outside is a bit noisy due to the street, but inside it's very cozy and warmly decorated. We've been here before and will keep coming back. (It's also great for allergy sufferers and people who only eat certain foods.)

Very good food. You choose a sauce for your meat or fish, and it's prepared fresh from the grill with other ingredients of your choice. Appetizers and desserts are also available. Very good concept and restaurant. :)

Food with a good selection of bowls.

I went there with a good feeling and unfortunately left with mixed feelings. The online menu pictures are long out of date, and so we were "misled." The only option is the "all-you-can-eat buffet" for €32.90 (!), which I find very high. Rice costs an extra €1.20. While there is a soup to start with and some exotic dishes, I still find the price a bit too high. It should be noted that the individual dishes are freshly fried by the chef after they have been prepared and then brought to the table—but for me, that unfortunately doesn't justify the high price. The other option would have been €3.90/100g, but if you think realistically, you still reach the upper limit of €32.90. Plus drinks. That quickly adds up to €40-50 for one person, depending on the drink choice and quantity. We ended up having salad—for €15.90. Judge for yourself what you think. The taste was good, but not exceptionally good; just average. The service staff seemed a bit confused at times; orders were mixed up, glasses were forgotten, nothing unusual, just minor things. The ambiance is great, and the "vibe" fits the restaurant's concept. My conclusion: A nice restaurant with certainly very good food, but too expensive for the average person in my opinion. Otherwise, everything was fine.

We chose this restaurant (via Google) because we like Asian food and because they offer a buffet. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment... It's not a proper buffet. You have to pay extra for dessert (not exactly cheap). The bowls of food are first weighed (raw!), then grilled. You have to stand in line for the weighing. There were three marinades to choose from; we went with sweet and sour. After grilling, the food didn't have any marinade flavor, just plain flavorless. One of our plates had ink rings that remained half-raw after grilling. There's no salt or soy sauce on the tables. We haven't experienced that at other Asian restaurants. We asked a server about the salt and the knives. "I'll get it!" she said, and then she left. In the end, one of us had to get everything ourselves. Great service! The drinks (homemade lemonade) were overpriced and tasteless. To end on a "good note," we waited forever for the bill, then went up front and paid. Pure disappointment! Once and never again.

Mixed feelings. It's sort of all-you-can-eat, but everything is freshly grilled instead of served. This promises better quality than keeping it warm, but at the same time ensures that you can't bring your own plate to your table. No (cold) appetizers, no sushi, no salad bar, and no dessert for €35 per person, I find it cheeky. Despite the quality of the fish, meat, and vegetables. It's also quite loud due to all the walking around and the crowds. Overall, disappointing for the price.

This is a great Asian Buffet where you can choose from a huge variety of vegetables, noodles, rice, salads, meats and fish. There are many sauces and spices that you can choose from. They serve until 22:30.

Loud, expensive, chaotic – unfortunately never again Our visit to Mongo's in Deutz was stressful from the start - and that started with the completely desolate parking situation. There are hardly any free parking spaces in the area, and even paid options were completely overcrowded. Anyone traveling by car needs strong nerves and a lot of patience - or a plan B. In the restaurant itself the atmosphere was anything but pleasant. Due to a kind of bachelor party it was extremely loud and conversations at the table were hardly possible. In addition, there was a very limited selection of ingredients and a lack of sauces for dipping - which is particularly disappointing given the price level. For the money you get significantly more quality and variety elsewhere. Another negative point was the condition of the toilets: absolutely unhygienic and unreasonable - a place that you wouldn't even want to enter. The only bright spot was the service: the employees were friendly, attentive and tried very hard. Big praise for that. Nevertheless, the overall impression was so negative that we definitely won't be coming back.

We made a reservation relatively spontaneously with a group of 21 people and I have to say... we were all thrilled. Maxi looked after us very well from the start. He explained the concept to us, was super friendly and patient, quick and was able to remember the orders from the entire table. Everything came to the table very quickly and without errors. The service team did a really great job. I have rarely experienced such great service from such a large group. The food was great. Everything fresh, large selection, very tasty sauces and worth every cent. We can definitely recommend it. Thank you, Maxi!!!

Nice atmosphere and very good service. The dessert was really great, but the main courses in the form of self-assembled bowls were not grilled or cooked in a balanced way: while the vegetables, for example, were nice and crunchy, the squid rings, for example, were still almost raw. In addition, the marinades had hardly any flavor or seasoning, so I had to season them properly. The drinks were relatively expensive.

At the very beginning, I have rarely seen such friendly and top service!! E.g. My son can't eat dairy ice cream and he suddenly had sorbet from the kitchen. The concept is great and the selection of ingredients is very diverse. We had zebra, moose and ostrich. All ingredients are fresh and stored on ice. Also ideal for hungry teenagers. Bravo... this makes eating out fun

Great restaurant. It is definitely worth visiting. The staff is very helpful and will advise on the selection of not only the sauce. Even the one who likes it very sharp will like it. The different types of meat and side dishes taste very good indeed. I can definitely recommend it. A previous reservation is also worthwhile. I will definitely be happy to visit here again.

Highly recommended! If you want to put together your meal individually, this is the right place for you. After you have decided on one of 8 sauces, you go to the “fresh counter” and fill your bowl with fresh vegetables, meat and fish and send it to the kitchen to fry. A few minutes later you can look forward to a freshly fried meal. We'll definitely be back.

The service was really quick and attentive, the buffet has a really large selection, the different sauces are great and there is something for every taste. Really recommended!

There was an incredible selection, lots of delicious sauces and great service. Currently there is all u can eat & drink on Tuesdays for an unbeatable price. We were here with a larger group and were completely satisfied.

We were there for the first time yesterday and loved it! At the beginning we were a bit overwhelmed because we weren't familiar with the concept; but after a very friendly staff member explained to us what our options were (also the best for the vegan in our group) everything was easy. There is a huge selection of ingredients, always fresh, which you can put together as you wish. The food is then freshly prepared and, what can I say, simply delicious! Special consideration is given to guests with allergies, vegans or vegetarians; you are welcome to wait a moment longer for your food as the staff clean everything beforehand. Top service, top food, I'm already looking forward to the next visit! :)

Somehow nothing half and nothing whole. The selection of ingredients is good but the standard sauces don't make it a real dish. Just not my thing.

It's all ok! But the process still reminds me a bit of the cafeteria at my university... only narrower, louder and warmer! But who likes that?! Maybe it's better to take noise canling headphones with you! That would somehow fit into our times... there is less of a private atmosphere...

The overall verdict in advance: very good! Anytime and gladly again! There were two of us with a dog and they reserved a four-person table for us, even though the restaurant was very full. Top! The service from our waiters was exemplary, very friendly, well explained and absolutely attentive. You put together your own food in a bowl at the buffet. Beforehand, you choose a sauce from the menu as the main flavor at the table, then it is prepared and brought to the table. The quality was super fresh, the selection was very large and the food was very tasty. You can go to the buffet as often as you like and choose a different sauce, i.e. a different flavor, for each course. The preparation time was short despite the many guests. If you allow five minutes for the buffet selection, 10 minutes for the preparation and 15 minutes for a leisurely meal, you can expect about half an hour for each course. With a reservation time of 2 hours per table (as stated in the confirmation email), you can get by well, but we didn't have the impression that our service staff would have driven us away if we had needed longer. I only deducted a partial star from the “ambience” for the noise level, which is almost unavoidable given the restaurant concept. We were there on a Tuesday and on the occasion of a birthday, which means that you have "all you can eat" and as the birthday child you only pay half price. But even at full price, the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. What I paid here (Tuesday!) for two people, I pay per person elsewhere. Top recommendation!

Decent food, but way overpriced for what you get. I had Thai noodles. If I were to cook something like that for myself at home, I'd eat it, but I certainly wouldn't be proud of it. And I certainly wouldn't serve it to guests. The noodles were bland and flavorless. Absolutely not what you'd expect from Thai cuisine. The ambiance is okay, but you can't have a conversation there because the noise level is too loud. I, for one, tried Mongo's once. I don't need to have it again.

Food was delicious, staff super friendly and nice. The ambience itself was nice, but it was also very loud due to the many guests. But... we will definitely come back.
