Tanito‘s - Casa Mexicana in Wiesbaden

Unfortunately, portion sizes vary greatly depending on the dish. I would especially recommend the burritos and baked potatoes; the mixed platters are unfortunately very small. The staff is very attentive and friendly. There's space for any group size. Cocktail happy hour until 8:00 PM and from 10:00 PM onwards.

Good music, great staff and good food.

We were visiting Wiesbaden and had reserved a table for three at 6 p.m. a week ago. When we arrived, the restaurant was closed—without any notice or note on the door. No one was available by phone. Only after asking the hairdresser next door did we learn that the restaurant was closed for personal reasons. Since we don't know much about Wiesbaden, it was very frustrating and inconvenient to find another restaurant at short notice. Truly disappointing—a quick update or cancellation would have saved a lot of trouble.

The cocktails were excellent. We'd love to come back 😊

We ordered from Lieferando. After 40 minutes, our order was canceled without any explanation. Disgraceful!

Food, drinks and service are great

The food here was good. Perhaps not the best Mexican food out there, but maybe the best in Wiesbaden for what that is worth. What earns Tanito's a five star is the quality, taste and variety of non-alcoholic "mocktails" and the friendly and fast service. Since coming to Wiesbaden my family has eaten out every night. We do not drink alcohol, but like to look at and order the "alcohol free" cocktails. Typically there are 2-4 options and they are good, but not mind-blowing. Tanto's has an entire half-page dedicated to non-alcoholic drinks. My favorite is the "Safe Drive-Home" be warned, it is VERY sour. But I love sour. The alcohol free margaritas are also incredibly good. On top of the wonderful mock-tails, our server was incredibly nice and responsive. The food came out quickly and was hot.

The food was really nothing. Hans's breast was like chewing gum. €32 isn't fair at all.

Very friendly service and delicious food. The salad was a truly generous portion and tasted excellent. I think it's a good thing that you can eat here late into the evening. This meant we could still go out for a delicious meal after an event at the Kurhaus that ended at 10 p.m. It was also great that we were able to get a table very quickly and courteously on a Saturday evening when the restaurant was very busy, even though we hadn't made a reservation.

I went to Tanito's for the first time yesterday. It's a very nice, cozy restaurant. The food was delicious, as were the cocktails. The service was very friendly and prompt. She kept coming to check if we wanted anything else. And we didn't have to wait long for our drinks or food. I'll definitely go back.

I had the steak medium rare, it was tough but the taste was okay, which really annoys me. We've been here several times now and they never have churros, but they say so on the menu and on the board outside, which is a good temptation. The churros are really tasty but it's annoying that they're never available, hence this review.

We'd been waiting a really long time for this – today we finally arrived. Right at 4:00 PM, as it can get crowded quite quickly later on… Super friendly service, great atmosphere inside and out, a huge bar, and an almost equally extensive menu. The food came quickly and was really delicious and plentiful – as were the cocktails. All in all, a place we'll definitely visit again…😎

Food was good but the starter was cold and there was no exchange, only the question was whether the rest was OK, hence only 3 stars for the service. The taste was good.

My three daughters ate here (I drove them there and picked them up). They were enthusiastic about Mexican food and praised the restaurant very much because there were many and nice people in the service all the guests cared. The restaurant is right next to a parking garage, so I could easily drop off and pick up my girls there. It's worth using Google Maps to drive there and pick up because you can then avoid the busy streets. It's best to go there by car or something motorized because it's all uphill and downhill. 😅 Have fun, it should be good.

Perfekt, Service 1A, Qualität des Essens Top und die Portion MEGA. Kann man und sollte man nicht meckern. Alles stimmt. Fajitas, Tacos de Pollo oder auch Papa asada waren unsere Wahl...es lohnt sich

The food and cocktails are great, but the prices are definitely above average. So long drinks like Long Island, Mai Tai etc cost just under €15, the main courses around €18-22. But you'll definitely be full and even with small sides like nachos for €7, there are decent portions and cocktails are worth it at happy hour!

So, The food is good but nothing special. The thing is more the price. At Chidoba you can get a better and tastier burrito for €10. Portion far too small for the price. Absolute nonsense. The waiter had no idea what to do either. Drinks were okay but nothing special.

Fantastic food and first class service - definitely try it! We went to Tanito’s in Wiesbaden with a larger group and were completely thrilled. The starters already made you want more - fresh, tasty and prepared with great attention to detail. My personal highlight was the Steako Americano, which was perfectly fried and tasted absolutely convincing. The service was also excellent: friendly, attentive and always with a smile on their faces. Despite the size of our group, everything ran smoothly so we could concentrate entirely on enjoying ourselves. If you are looking for a great restaurant experience in Wiesbaden, you should definitely stop by Tanito’s. 5 stars!

This place is definitely a vibe! They play really good music. We went for drinks and had chips with dip on the side. All their drinks came out delicious and exactly how they should be. The costumer service was amazing. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful.

Eat deliciously. The portions are sufficient. There is a large selection of tequila and the selection is also very good. The audience tends to be younger, but you can go there at any age.

Spontaneously went with friends last Sunday. Group of 7 people. Mo greeted us and served us. Very great service, attentive, accommodating and just in a great mood. We'll definitely be back just because of Mo!

We visited the restaurant on December 20, 2024. The ambience is good but that's about it. We waited an unbelievable 2 hours for our food only to receive mediocre convenience food, from the taste I could bet that 80% was ready-made, no homemade sauces etc... Now you could say that Tanitos is more of a cocktail bar and not a real restaurant, but even with the cocktails I have to say that I'm pretty sure that they've been saving on alcohol there lately, none of us felt any alcohol after 4-5 cocktails and our group consisted of people who hardly drink alcohol, when you consider that the jumbo cocktails cost almost 15 euros, I think it's pretty cheeky that you actually only get fruit juice. To be fair, they tasted good. It's a shame that it turned out this way. I used to enjoy having a drink there, but after the total failure it's no longer recommended for me. Small addendum, the sinks in the men's toilets have been broken since my last visit in the summer.

Definitely more than worth a visit. Such a beautiful location, delicious food and great cocktails. But above all the service was brilliant. Mo (our waiter) was super attentive, funny and had just the right level of interaction with us. We couldn't have asked for better service that evening. We are really looking forward to our next visit ☺️

Eight of us were at Tanitos today to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately it was the first and also the last time. The toilets were in poor condition and only one of the two taps worked. The waiting time for the drinks was consistently over 15 minutes, and incorrect orders were brought several times. In addition, the waitress couldn't give any precise information about the drinks and became rude when asked further questions. The wait for the food was over an hour, and when the burgers finally came, each burger was missing the jalapeños. The BBQ burger was completely missing BBQ sauce and the burgers were cold. Overall, a very disappointing experience that we definitely won't repeat.

The food and the service are great, the service was super nice, we even got shots since it took longer. Deduction because of the prices, which are already very steep, steeper than at Enchi in other cities. It's very good if you want to treat yourself to something, including the cocktails, but it's quite expensive.

An eye-catcher for the street and the Mexican. Not only can the location of the Mexican be seen from afar, but the whole area benefits :-) Note: I can't judge the food and drinks myself yet. Therefore, one star still has room for improvement.

The food is unreasonably expensive and doesn't leave much of an impression. However, very good service and delicious cocktails.

Unfortunately there is nothing vegan on the menu, not even when asked.

It was ok, the starter for 2 people was plenty, but corn on the cob also needs a little butter and the nachos were lifeless and tasteless as a decko. With the lifeless, slightly spicy tomato salsa, you could add a little avocado. For the price you got more for the eye and less taste pleasure.

Actually quite nice, the selection of tequilas and mezcal is also very commendable, the cocktails were also decent. Of course, the food is only partially authentic, but I can't rate the taste and quality of it yet.

About a month ago I accidentally ordered on Lieferando for pickup instead of delivery - I called straight away because unfortunately you can't cancel on Lieferando yourself. The restaurant said you couldn't cancel either, they had no option at all. We agreed that the order would not be prepared and that I would contact Lieferando....I am still waiting for a refund from Lieferando and the restaurant was actually not interested in the whole situation at all (even though I have ordered many times and regularly ). But when I placed my order today, I was completely blown away: After waiting for over an hour, the order on Lieferando was simply canceled.... IT APPEARS TO BE WORKING??? But only if it suits the restaurant... Absolutely underground. Aside from that, the restaurant could have kindly just called me. Well, that will probably be the last time I ordered from you (or tried to). It's actually a shame because the food tastes quite good. This is how you completely alienate a customer who would have continued to order for a long time.

Restaurant atmosphere was really comfortable. Greeted by a super friendly hostess. Eating inside next to the fireplace was a plus. There is also outside seating, but smoking is allowed there. Happy hour discounts on drinks. Potato skins appetizer was enough to share with four. They were sliced seasoned potatoes wedges (not the cheese/bacon half sliced variety). Quesadilla portions are large enough to take some home. Burritos are a bit smaller, but satisfying. Surprised that entrees only come with 3-4 tortilla chips and the salsa containers are a tad small. Mixed drinks have a generous amount of alcohol. Overall great experience. Worth a stop for dinner.

Good Mexican restaurant. The prices are a little higher than average comparable restaurants, but I'm happy to spend that. The service here is 1a. This is (unfortunately) something we are no longer used to in many restaurants. The food is very good in my opinion. However, it is often very warm in the restaurant itself. Otherwise no criticism.

I wish there were more than 5 stars because I’d give them 50. My first time at this place was for a “Moms night out” with several girlfriends and the atmosphere was lovely. A few weeks later I was hopeful that even though it’s a restaurant with a large bar and a bar-ish reputation that it would be kid-friendly enough to bring our 2 small children to as long as we ate early enough. This restaurant far surpassed our expectations in every way. The food is delicious. The service is amazing. They are considerate and kind and take good care of their customers. The rave comes from tonight’s experience. During our dinner my 4 year old daughter was stung by a bee & she was HURT. She let out a piercing scream and several of the staff came running to her aid. With my screaming daughter in my arms our waitress promptly filled a sterile glove with ice and then sat on the floor with me desperately attempting to soothe my daughter’s pain and console her. Her compassion in the moment was unmatched. She even teared up with me hearing a sweet little girl cry in pain. She continued to sit with us for several minutes and took such care of us. Due to the new (and of course understandable) fear of the bees, we decided to forego the rest of our dinner time and asked to pay & leave. Our waitress brought us the check and we closed out our tab but before we headed out, the hostess rushed to our table, collected our food and drinks into to-go containers, and brought them to us. We have never had anything less than a great experience at this restaurant but tonight’s care and compassion shown by the employees took it to the next level. Thank you Tanito’s staff! We appreciate your kindness.

It was our first time here, we were greeted very nicely and were given a nice table. The service staff was very attentive and friendly. As a starter we had the platter for 2 people. It was okay but nothing special. I found the salsa to be very weak. It tasted more like pureed tomatoes. I know it differently. In terms of price, I find it very expensive, almost €30 for 2 people. The tacos weren't good either. Strips of steak that were too thin were simply too dry. I am of the opinion that the entire food and the sauces are not exactly coordinated. Sometimes there is too much spice, sometimes not at all. The cocktails were very good. Overall, we would still come by and try something different.

Location: Very well located, right in the city center. You find the entrance a little behind and then climb a few stairs and find yourself directly in the restaurant. Very large and yet comfortable. Rustic style. Decoratively not very imaginative. But that is subjective and a matter of opinion. Eat: We found the food okay. Everything was well done, but unfortunately very bland. I would have liked a little more spice and more creativity in the dishes. We ordered two different dishes that ultimately looked and tasted completely the same. The cocktail was average. I would like to emphasize that the food was neither particularly exceptional nor bad. Just okay. The portions were sufficient. Staff: Really great! Very, very attentive, quick, friendly, open-minded and helpful. Price: Certainly appropriate for the current situation. However, in contrast to my own kitchen, I want to have a "culinary experience" in the restaurant and be inspired to create something of my own. Unfortunately, I didn't have the feeling here to the extent that I wanted. I wouldn't advise against a visit, but I wouldn't explicitly recommend it either.

We were a group of six people and had a very nice evening in the restaurant. The food tasted extremely good and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, the waitress couldn't give us any information about the types of alcohol in the cocktail (explanation of what spirit it was) and we were only asked once the entire evening if we wanted to order anything else. But all in all it was a lovely evening

The service was very friendly and also worked extremely quickly. The quality of the food was definitely good and justified the prices. The entire restaurant impresses with a lovely feel-good atmosphere and invites you to visit again.
