The service is very friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and the food is incredibly good. I had a veal doner kebab with fries. The portions are gigantic and definitely justify the slightly higher price compared to the place around the corner. Highly recommended. $100

This was my second time there. I've never eaten such good falafel before. To finish, I had a delicious Turkish tea. I've already booked my next visit.

I no longer get kebabs from Tandur Restaurant, even though I live around the corner. Tandur's takeaway kebab quality has declined significantly. I ordered three kebabs with more tzatziki. When I got home, I realized there was no tzatziki in them. And the flatbread fell apart, so I put the kebab on a plate so I could at least eat the kebab salad. Luckily, I didn't get diarrhea; the salad and the kebab meat were good. Rating: 1. The flatbread is incredibly bad because it's falling apart. 2. No tzatziki in it, even though I specifically asked for more tzatziki. Conclusion: Food: Zero stars, you can't hold the kebab in your hand. No tzatziki even though I ordered it. My personal opinion: I'll go to the A2 Center in Altwarmbüchen; they have better kebabs there. The video shows what the doner kebab from Tandur looks like.

On our way to our vacation, we discovered this great restaurant. It's close to the highway, so it was perfect for us. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious.

Stumbled upon this place while passing through. Stumbled upon is probably not the right word. I received a warm welcome, and nothing is fake here; everything is authentic. The staff, the hospitality, the ambiance, and the food are simply perfect. You often look for something like this in big cities, and here you can find it in the small town of Altwarmbüchen, not far from Hanover. Thank you, Yilmaz, for this wonderful experience at Tandur. We'd love to come back and will definitely recommend Tandur to others! !!!!! Definitely!

We had our wedding dinner, coffee, and cake in the tandoor... We were actually always satisfied, but the fact that our guests were insulted just because they wanted to know if the meat was halal, and then made such stupid comments, is completely unacceptable!!! On top of that, the food was only lukewarm. Secondly, it was my children (the bride's) who were insulted, and I would have expected more understanding and respect from fellow countrymen regarding food and religion. Sorry, but that's completely unacceptable!!! There were over 20 of us, and I'm truly disappointed.

A friend invited us to dinner at Tandur. I was pleasantly surprised, as I haven't been here in a few years. The spacious outdoor terrace and the lovingly decorated interior invite you to linger. The menu is thoroughly well-designed. For meat lovers, I can recommend the specialties from the lava grill, for example, the sumptuous Tandur platter with select meat specialties. The doner kebab plate was very tasty. Since we also had a vegetarian in the group, she had the falafel plate with a very fresh salad and a very spicy vegetable casserole. She was as enthusiastic as the rest of us. The open show kitchen is amazing. The freshness of the ingredients, from the meat to the appetizing salads, makes you want more. The service is very personal and courteous. Very attentive! Thank you for the lovely evening.

I love coming to Tandur regularly and usually order the same thing to take away. This time, unfortunately, was a complete disappointment. The veal seemed to have been on the spit for a while. It looked very dark and even burnt. Unfortunately, my suspicions were confirmed when I ate it. The meat was inedible, completely dry, hard, and tough. For the price, this shouldn't happen. Unfortunately, this ruins a good experience.

We shared a starter and the Adana plate. The starter, the Adana plate, the salad, and the homemade elderflower lemonade were all delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was also great. Completely satisfied. Keep it up! ☺️

Visited the restaurant today with four people. The food was freshly prepared, but not typically Turkish, as everything was covered in Gouda cheese. The Imam Bayıldı dish was dripping with fat/oil. When I was asked if I enjoyed it, I pointed to my plate and then told the waitress with the long, fluttering eyelashes that the food was too oily for me. She then told me that the dish is always served that way. I would have liked a bit more insight at this point. The lamb skewer in tomato sauce that I ordered was also topped with Gouda cheese and came with neither potatoes nor rice. The lamb skewer in tomato sauce was served with only salad and some dry bread. It wasn't to my taste. But if others there enjoy it, I can only say bon appetit.

The delicious doner kebab has a unique flavor combination; I've never had anything like it anywhere else. The veal is truly premium, and the service is excellent.

The staff was great, and the atmosphere was nice too. I was passing through and ordered a veal dürüm. The meat was like rubber, and unfortunately, not tasty at all.

The Tandur impresses with authentic Turkish cuisine, fresh ingredients and excellent service. The tender lamb, served on skewers and kofta, extremely seasoned and cooked juicy, was my highlight. The starter plate is a balanced mix of dolma, creamy hummus, spicy ezme, fresh börek and grilled vegetables: varied, intense and perfectly balanced. The freshness of the ingredients can be felt in every bite, from the fragrant flatbread to the crunchy vegetables. The service: friendly, competent and quick. (We had a doggy pack to take with us, which arrived promptly). A culinary insider tip like its namesake in Hanover. Absolutely recommended. We'll be going there more often from now on. Thanks!

Great furnished. I eat kebab the most here. So far it's been good. Good quality meat at a higher price. Unfortunately I was disappointed today. I ordered a chicken kebab and probably got a vegetarian kebab... unfortunately there was hardly any meat on it. Sometimes I only ate bread with salad and tzatziki. That's not possible at that price.

We were in this restaurant 3 days ago. It was really expensive and the food was terrible. I wouldn't even give it a bad star. They brought mice and dirt everywhere anyway.

Order a doner plate... Food comes with olives on it, I have an extreme allergy, I say that and the only thing the employee can think of is yes, YOU have to say it beforehand and she becomes very unfriendly blah blah. My buddy's kebab bag didn't work at all, the bread was burnt and there was very, very little meat! We felt treated very unfairly and the portions are very small.

It was a coincidence on Google Maps that led us into trouble. I chose the small kebab plate with fries and no “spicy stuff”. The portion was more than enough for me and the food was delicious. For dessert, I would have liked to have the baklava offered on the menu, but it wasn't available. I was recommended a dessert that should have been similar to baklava (see photo/display). That wasn't the case at all, but that's just a matter of taste. The vanilla ice cream that was spread on top and cut into rectangular pieces was also missing the vanilla flavor... - I then paid a whopping €9.50 to have half of it returned. Therefore a star deduction for the food. A little more care in service would be appropriate. Everyone was very nice, but the cutlery was a sticking point. Whether it was the missing "tools" for eating my (sticky) warm dessert, which the employee finally brought to our table in two attempts, or the apparently used spoon for my friend's latte macchiato, which was of course immediately complained about - a little more care could be taken here. This may sound harsh, but it was my experience yesterday in the tandoor. Nevertheless, we will come back and then maybe in spring/summer when you can use the outdoor area in front of the restaurant and enjoy al fresco dining.

We ended up there by chance and were pleasantly surprised. Nice staff and atmosphere. They could have made more sales if someone had come to the table every now and then. The food was rich and delicious. Everything was good, but not overly seasoned. We would have liked to try the dessert, but there was nothing left in our stomachs. So if you want dessert, you should opt for a small portion size rather than a large one

Always great, delicious food that doesn't take long to arrive after ordering. All the employees are very friendly and ask several times if everything is OK or if you would like anything else. See immediately when the drink is gone, the plate is empty, etc. The furnishings are TOP and very comfortable. This is definitely my favorite restaurant in the Hanover region at the moment!!! I was here for the first time on February 2nd, 2025 and ordered the falafel plate. This was seriously the best I've ever had! Not only visually very appealing, but also delicious in terms of taste! There is also a pleasant atmosphere and very attentive and friendly staff. I'm already looking forward to the next visit!

We spontaneously looked for a restaurant for dinner. Because of the good reviews, we decided on the Tandur. We got a seat straight away even though the restaurant was full. The homemade lemonades were super delicious. The food arrived in no time and tasted excellent. The portions were generous and unfortunately there was no room for dessert. Next time then. :)

My partner and I went to Tandur for dinner today. The main course was ok. The discussion arose when we ordered and received Haydari. What we were offered as Hadary was a carrot-mayo mix that had nothing remotely to do with the original Haydari. You have to imagine it like this: You order a steak and get fish fingers. The crowning glory, however, was that the mayonnaise had a bad taste and was inedible. We also told the staff this. In response we were told by the extremely unfriendly employee that he didn't understand. Food is just food. This answer is unbelievable. After speaking to his boss, she said that the discussion was over and we didn't have to pay for the meal. Nevertheless, it was later on the bill. I complained about that too. Instead of giving in at the latest, they again showed us an absolutely customer-unfriendly manner and could no longer remember that they had promised us that we would not have to pay the 7 euros. It wasn't the first time we went there to eat. However, it was the last time. I prefer to spend my money where I am king as a customer. Unfortunately, the “rulers” thought far too short here. Never again.

One of the best Turkish Cusine I tried outside Turkey. Food was delicious and definitely the best.

There is a lot of minced meat on offer. I had a dürüm with chicken because I don't eat lamb or veal. Even though the fat was dripping out of the aluminum foil, the Dürüm was dry. There was no sauce. When I told the waiter/boss, he reacted unfriendly and annoyed. In my opinion, food is disappointing and overpriced 👎

Absolute recommendation. I found the restaurant by chance thanks to Google because I was staying at the hotel in the area. Very nice and immediate reception, good seating recommendations and prompt service. I had a kebab bowl that I've never seen anywhere before and it was extremely fresh, tasty and filling. With avocados, edamame and much more that I never expected!! Keep it up!! I will gladly come again.

Disastrous service/preparation - ambience fits. The only good thing about this shop is the ambience, but the service and preparation are a 6! Something is always wrong, even if the boss writes something down. Ordered today with colleagues, kebab plate was the wrong meat, and this time even the meat was forgotten for my Lahmacun with chicken meat. So we'll never go/order here again - that was too much!

I was there for the first time because my little one moved to Altwarmbüchen with her husband. We ordered a lot of delicious food. A mixed starter plate with lots of vegetarian options from sauces to salads. As well as a kebab bag, lahmacun, Adana plate with bulgur rice and another bowl. All dishes were super tasty and the price was right for the portion size. The raspberry-rosemary lemonade and the KiBa were super tasty and served great. We were completely satisfied, the staff was super friendly and attentive and knew who ordered what, which I always think is great. The ambience of the room is very cozy, especially the columns with the great wallpaper are a great eye-catcher! I would happily recommend the restaurant. I myself come from Berlin and I have to say that I haven't eaten something so delicious in a long time. :)
