Both 2 types of ramen we tried werent really great and authentic. The chasu could use a bit more cooking time for better tenderness. Other experience was great overall.

It was really good but at 10pm it closes whether you've finished your food/drink or not :)

I placed my order at 7:08 PM on October 18, 2025. The latest delivery date was 8:40 PM, but the scheduled delivery time was approximately 8:00 PM. The delivery was at 9:15 PM. Especially since the food was damaged. I was told by phone at 8:35 PM that there was no order. Obviously a lie. We assumed the food wasn't coming and ordered something else. I'm curious to see if I'll get my money back.

The food is good but the service is deplorable, we almost feel like we're bothering. A restaurant is supposed to be welcoming, a place where we like to eat, not a place where we feel like we're bothering.

The food was okay. The seaweed salad didn't taste very fresh, and the meat was very fatty. However, the food arrived very quickly, and the service was impeccable.

I had the impression that the restaurant opened too early and the setup wasn't quite perfected yet. The drink selection was very limited; for example, there was no beer, only a simple apple spritzer. This suggests that the delivery logistics aren't yet finalized. The kitchen was visibly overloaded, which led to extremely long wait times of up to 90 minutes (for four people). The service also seemed inflexible (e.g., when pushing tables together). The concept with the integrated bubble tea shop is a matter of taste and, in my opinion, doesn't fit the restaurant perfectly. On the plus side, the ramen was very tasty! Once the team here is more integrated, this Takumi store will have great potential, as it offers something special in Cologne.

My first time eating ramen, and I was so pleased. It was incredibly delicious, the staff was super friendly, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I highly recommend it.

Four of us came with our young children, ages 3 and 5. The restaurant was almost completely empty. First, I had to spend five minutes explaining that small children can't sit on adult high chairs. And then the staff refused to provide comfortable sofas in the corner, telling us to sit on chairs in the aisle. After about a five-minute discussion with the staff, we left. This is the second time this has happened to me—never again!

Always very crowded, but rightly so. In my opinion, the best ramen in Cologne. Relatively expensive, but definitely still normal prices for Cologne (and they offer a stamp card).

We always enjoy the food. Since Takumi offers delivery, we can often enjoy the food at home.

The vegan curry is absolutely delicious. I have eaten that twice. Last time I went this was not available. I chose a veggie miso ramen. This was a bit bland and tasteless and I wouldn't order it again. The service is good. The staff are extremely polite and the food arrives really quickly. As you pay at the counter, there is no sitting around when you've finished your meal and are ready to go. The final point I would add - no music - or it was very quiet. I found this very refreshing. You can talk to your dining companion/s and there is never any need to raise your voice : )

Very good, but when the boss isn't there, you get the feeling that everything is done a bit listlessly and slowly.

The service was very friendly and the ambiance was perfect for us. The portions were generous and tasted truly delicious. We'd be happy to come back.

Honest review from a Japan, Ramen lover: I ordered a ramen without pork but with chicken – however, it was served without any meat. The chicken was added afterward, but also charged extra, without informing me about the additional cost in advance. As a result, my meal became unnecessarily expensive and, sadly, was suprisingly disappointing in taste. Since my chicken was a side dish chicken, and not chicken added to my ramen as wished it dient really added to the taste of my ramen. As there are ramen with chicken for less of a price. To be honest, my instant noodle soup for €1–2 actually tastes better – something I really didn’t expect. It definitely won’t be my last noodle soup, but it will be my last one from this place. The definite reason why I won’t give this place a second chance: Friendly faces don't automatically mean good service – and unfortunately, that became clear again today. Writing this I m eating my instant noodle soup just after the restaurant. Not joking, says it all...

A very nice place for a quiet meal. The place has a really nice Japanese-style decor. I honestly liked it a lot. When you pay, they give you a card with which they seal some bowls, and if you get 10, you get something free. I really liked the idea.

We came here after seeing raving reviews. Ramen was decent and generally good, but felt that the broth was slightly diluted and could be a little thicker. Usually from where we’re from (Singapore), the Japanese ramen store provide a selection on the ‘thickness’ of broth. Because I think every individual has their own preference. Perhaps this would be a good practice to adopt as well. Service could be better though. The servers didn’t seem so happy when serving the foods/ when asking for the bill. I do see similar reviews here as well. I think this is slightly sad because it doesn’t embody the Japanese culture where the people are very courteous and polite. Even if the servers are Chinese (we know because we are also Chinese), the service standard is always high in China and Singapore. I do hope that you would represent us better 🙏🏻

Definitely not worth it. Taste of soup was mediocre. Actually doubt it is Japanese owned. I saw the owner talking to the management staff. They were speaking Mandarin Chinese. No wonder it didn't tasted authentic. I even asked for Shichimi Japanese chilli seasoning and they don't even have it ? How can you not have that in a Japanese Ramen restaurant ? I don't not recommend.

The table was sticky, the menu was sticky, the food was hot, but tasteless. Typical fast food.

Every part of the meal seems to be pre-prepared. Karage has a strong smell of oil. Taste is lame but regarding the price it’s just not worth the price.

The ramen itself was very tasty! The service was okay, though it felt like the guy serving us really didn’t want to be there 😂.

We just ate at this restaurant because we like going there. We ordered two ramen and a drink, but they only served one. We asked another waitress about it, but she asked if we wanted to order another. This confused us, as we had already ordered two ramen, so we said no. We waited for a long time, but nothing came by the time I finished my meal. When paying, I first confirmed with the manager how many orders were entered in the system, and he said only one. I also told him that we didn't even get an apology from the waitress or anything else until we left. Overall, we found the customer service in this case somewhat unprofessional.

Every time I go to Cologne, I eat here and enjoy the service

I thought about whether to write this for a while – now I'm going to. On my last visit to the restaurant, two women were sitting at the next table. They were directly opposite the cash register, maybe a good meter away. One of them was wearing a white T-shirt and had a curvier figure. The man at the cash register – presumably the manager – and an employee started talking about the customer's body. Apparently, they both assumed no one understood Chinese. Right at the cash register, they loudly commented on the woman's breasts and on "who would like a body like that." That was extremely uncomfortable and downright disrespectful – to the customers in general and especially to women. This kind of behavior has no place in a restaurant.

You can watch the ramen being made, from the noodle dough to the finished ramen! Legit, the best ramen I've ever had (I had the vegan miso ramen).

I ordered the Karaage & Gyoza Ramen and absolutely loved them. The broth was very flavorful, and the extra garlic made it even better. The staff was also very friendly and helpful with any questions I had. I highly recommend it!

During our visit to Cologne, we discovered the Takumi Ramen Restaurant and were absolutely thrilled! The dishes were incredibly delicious, fresh, and authentically prepared – a true taste experience. We were particularly impressed by the very friendly and attentive staff in the evening, who created a pleasant atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would gladly return if we have the chance. Highly recommended!

I've eaten here a dozen times, and it's still very good. The ramen here is super delicious, practically no matter which one you choose. I highly recommend karaage. This was my first time trying karaage, and it's still my favorite—even though I've enjoyed homemade karaage several times in Japan, from snack bar to restaurant. It's not cheap, but it's still highly recommended for anyone who's new to it.

During the meal, an alarm clock from the open kitchen rang continuously for minutes, which was very annoying. While the food was delicious, I've had much more intense and flavorful ramen and gyoza, especially for the price, it was unfortunately not worth it.

The food here is incredibly delicious and very filling. The karaage and gyozas are especially delicious. It's a rather expensive restaurant, but the value for money is still good. They also have great merchandise :)

Delicious food, fast service, friendly staff

I was so looking forward to my ramen after work, and I know how much you just want to close the door after a hard shift, so I immediately asked if I could have another soup. I arrived at 9:10 PM and was greeted so unfriendly, so heartlessly placed in one of the most uncomfortable seats, and looked up and down. The front of the place was still full, and I immediately ordered my soup after moving to the front. The lady had her eyes on me and the corners of her mouth that were so unfriendly and could hardly wait to take my plate away from me after I'd finished eating in front of the other customers so I could leave. Unfortunately, the boss wasn't there, so I explained the situation to my colleague and told him I would never set foot there again and that I wouldn't leave a single cent in tips, because I know what it's like to be a restaurateur. If the boss isn't careful, the woman will ruin the place. Scaring away a customer is like wildfire.

Good ramen for German standards. The broth was instant and not fully authentic. It does not justify the price for a 19.20€ ramen bowl 😳. Friendly service but better places in town.

We were there Friday evening. Especially on weekend evenings, you have to expect a wait outside the restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was either a bit slow due to the calculated reason (no one asked if empty drinks needed refills) or because they were overwhelmed. We don't know. Otherwise, everything was great. Delicious food :)

The takoyaki was good. The Tokyo Ramen was also very tasty, with a well-balanced broth and fresh toppings. They serve good Japanese beers, which went really well with the food. There was a short line, but it moved quickly and I got seated without much waiting. Inside, the atmosphere was calm and comfortable, making it easy to enjoy the meal. Overall, everything was well prepared and enjoyable. I’ll definitely come back on my next visit to Köln.

Takumi is a great chain, always delicious! The restaurant stayed open extra late on Gamescom Friday so that people waiting in line could still get something to eat. Awesome! The music could be a bit quieter.

Excellent food. The ramen arrived in what felt like 30 seconds and was delicious. The Tantan Ramen was really tasty, creamy, and pleasantly spicy. Paired with the karaage, it was a great dinner. Unfortunately, instead of the Gaffel, they served a Früh in a Gaffel glass, but otherwise, it was great. ;)

The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Compared to the other Takumi branches, the vegetarian dish tasted a bit different, but was still delicious. Both portions had a little less broth than expected. Nevertheless, I would recommend this restaurant to any ramen fan!

It was my second Takumi experience after Essen. Köln branch exceeded my expectations with their rice bowl. Loved the Kimchi and green onions toppings with the crunchy Karaage! Will make sure to check out other locations as well!!

Really disappointed in this takumi, the ramen broth was way too salty and there were too few toppings. The actual dining room is really bare, kind of depressing. I'm used to going to takumis when I'm visiting a foreign city and it's the first time I've actually been disappointed

We were looking forward to Takumi in Cologne because we know and love it from Amsterdam and Barcelona. Here in Cologne, we felt completely unwelcome, the service was terrible, and two of us had stomach problems after eating. I can't understand the good reviews at all and will never visit this restaurant again. I can't recommend it to anyone either.

The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. Customer service is very fast and efficient. The food is delicious and flavorful. I can truly recommend it.

It was our first time here and we had no idea what miso soup was, so we were recommended several different versions. Both soups were very tasty and pleasantly surprised us.

We can't comment on the food yet, but the restaurant and service are already great! I would come back as soon as I'm in Cologne. The staff are very polite 😊

Wonderful food, beautiful interior, Genuinely one of the greatest background music i've ever experienced: very calm covers of popular songs combined with the really classy furniture, warm light and beautiful tableware, this place really makes for a great experience every time and i have only one slight criticism after years of going herey which is, that it's currently really hot outside and in the front of the restaurant it unfortunately is also very warm. but there is air conditioning and in the bavk it is probably much better.

The ramen itself is pretty good, but I found it a bit too spicy. The takuyaki were really good, but I think €6.50 for four takuyaki is a bit steep. It takes a while for the food to arrive, but it's not really a problem. The staff is generally friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I had a slight stomach upset after eating. It wasn't too bad, though, and I can't say for sure whether it was the food or me. All in all, it was pretty good 👍🏻

Not ramen — it’s just instant noodle soup with Japanese broth. €7 for five tiny pieces of teriyaki chicken… way overpriced! The chef was smoking in front of the restaurant and then went straight back to work — not very professional. Overall, I won’t be returning and definitely do not recommend this place.

We were here for the first time, but certainly not the last! Great place, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the food is amazing. We had such a great meal and will definitely stop by again when we're in Cologne. An absolute recommendation.

Probably one of my favorite spots in Cologne Starting from the ramen they have, which is as authentic as it gets.Amazing and flavorful broth, with the most fresh ingredients and the noodles, oh the noodles, they have the perfect size, perfect bite and texture and they just absorb all the aromas.The staff is incredibly prepared and they will serve you extremely fast, service is amazing. If you come here get their signature iced te it's amazing!!!!
