Takumi japanisches Chicken & Vegan Ramen Restaurant Köln in Köln

First off, I'd like to say that the ramen tasted okay, but nothing special. The noodles were fine, but nothing more. The broth was alright, neither particularly good nor bad. But that's not the real problem. You can immediately tell that the restaurant isn't run by Japanese people. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but then the food, etc., should at least be somewhat authentic. It starts with the chopsticks, which are Chinese chopsticks, not Japanese. Okay, not a huge deal, although it wouldn't have been difficult to simply provide the proper ones instead of the cheap ones you get at Chinese buffets. But why are the gyoza served with just plain soy sauce? Normally, they come with a specific sauce made from soy sauce and vinegar, and optionally chili oil. This is also the case at other Takumi restaurants, at least in Düsseldorf. That's really unacceptable. Especially for the price... It also took quite a while for the ramen to arrive. It was pretty crowded, but ramen is fast food after all... Well, the place seems to be doing quite well, judging by the reviews. The restaurant is clearly aimed at Germans. They're trying to pass it off as Japanese, but the clientele hardly cares. Most of them probably don't even know what authentic Japanese food is 🤷 The poster wall also looks like some things have snuck in there in Chinese. Are the posters AI-generated, by the way?

Probably one of the best ramen I've had. I had the R25 (creamy tantanmen with tomatoes and Soy balls), and it was delicious. Perfect salt level in the broth, and not too spicy. My waiter was friendly. The atmosphere of the joint is calm. Perfect resting spot.

The worst of the Takumi restaurants in Cologne… To save true ramen fans from bitter disappointment, like all the other Takumi branches in Cologne, neither the quality of the ingredients nor the timing of the preparation is right; the food is cold, uninspired, and poorly seasoned. The Cologne branches are significantly worse than the main restaurants in Düsseldorf… Unfortunately, mass production doesn't guarantee quality, and charging these prices is completely unacceptable.

A truly fantastic restaurant! The food is incredibly delicious – a real treat for the palate! The Chinese tea, in particular, is simply wonderful. The staff is very friendly and attentive, creating a pleasant atmosphere. I will definitely be back! 🌸

I had the R15 - Cologne Signature Ramen Surf & Turf, and the V16 - Cucumber (slightly spicy). The service was friendly and attentive. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. I would definitely eat here again.

We just wanted a solid quick ramen and were so pleasantly surprised that we came back the following week. Takumi has four different shops in Cologne, each specializing in a specific broth. Here, they had a very good chicken broth and even vegan versions. The chicken broth was very rich and warming, just what we needed for the autumn weather outside. The vegan broth was also completely convincing. We're excited to try the other versions :)

You can tell the food is cooked with love. I'll definitely be back.

Busy atmosphere on a Wednesday evening. Perhaps that's why the wait was too long (over 35 minutes for two people). I noticed that other tables were also waiting for their ramen. Perhaps this could be handled differently? The food was delicious as always! Luckily, it's vegan!

A Japanese chain with delicious ramen in Cologne. I particularly enjoyed the Creamy White Tan Tan Men. In my opinion, the broth could have been a bit spicier, but it was still very flavorful. The amount of ramen was especially great – vegetables like bok choy could have been a bit more plentiful in the broth. Otherwise, it's really great – and the service is friendly. The prices are a bit on the high side – with a drink, it easily comes to €25. There's comfortable seating both inside and outside. Outside, you can even enjoy the sun!

Here, I get a nice selection of different vegan ramen and other vegan dishes/snacks. There are also chicken dishes, but also a larger vegan selection. I can also recommend the homemade iced tea. And I tried a Japanese lemonade here for the first time. The service is always fast and friendly. I also like the style of the restaurant. A clear recommendation for people who enjoy ramen or Japanese cuisine, especially if you like vegan food.

Very nice, young and cozy ramen shop in Cologne. Focused on chicken and vegetarian options it is my go to. No need to go to Düsseldorf anymore. Takumi Köln has got you covered. The friendly and helpful staff is always there for their guests, the music is just the right volume and the food is very good. Thank you for many wonderful visits.

CAUTION! Two of us were there today – one vegan, the other with crispy chicken. Unfortunately, the broth was nothing special. For the hefty price of €17-18, we absolutely don't see it coming – this was definitely our first and last visit. Of course, they collect positive reviews through small gifts – that's the owners' tactic. Don't expect authenticity here: Japanese paintings on the walls, but the staff are all from China. It feels like deception to us. Overpriced, lackluster flavor, and the atmosphere inauthentic – beware!

The food is delicious and the portions are generous. The prices are also perfectly reasonable. The service seems stressed, which is likely due to the large number of guests. They are nevertheless polite and attentive. They are available to answer any questions about the dishes.

The staff is always very friendly. We always enjoy coming here. Above all, it's the best ramen soup in Cologne. Very fresh and delicious 😋 We can definitely recommend it 👍

We finally went to Takumi again today. As always, it was fantastic. The food was served very quickly and the staff were very friendly. We had a mix of vegan and meaty dishes. The food was great, but the reservation that was made and then simply didn't exist because you suddenly couldn't make reservations at the restaurant was, let's just say, a bit unpleasant. Everything else was fine.

Definitely don't order anything. It's not worth the price. It felt like €1, and I didn't feel full. There were practically no vegetables in it and three small pieces of chicken.

Good basic daily ramen house. Good broth noodles and toppings. Staff was always friendly and prompt. Personally I would love a quality plant based meat for the vegan options. Bomb fried chicken and egg or some paprika and bok choy don't feel the same quality wise.

This was my first time at this restaurant, and the ambiance blew me away; it was very modern and stylish. It was lunchtime and very quiet. Unfortunately, there were communication issues, and I didn't receive tea with the menu, but a homemade iced tea. The reason was that I had requested an additional iced tea when ordering. Not so bad, as the iced tea was super delicious! Unfortunately, the chicken ramen contained pork, which really shocked me. I was in a hurry, so I didn't mention it. In retrospect, it was a mistake on both sides. Still surprising, since pork isn't on the menu at all. Overall, a good impression, and I might go again.

We eat here often and enjoy it. The ramen is usually brought to the table in just a few minutes. Both the vegan and chicken versions are delicious. And unfortunately, I didn't get a gift for this review :(, I'm writing it voluntarily 😁

Very good ramen. The fried chicken topping wasn't my thing, and the meat inside was too fatty. It's quite expensive for around €18. But the broth, noodles, and egg are really strong.

On the plus side, they have a competitively priced menu. The food wasn't bad, but let's just say it's not a benchmark when looking for a great ramen spot.

As the name indicates, this second Takumi offers ramen with chicken and vegan broth. Particularly refreshing in summer try. Shoyu yuzu ramen with a dash of white pepper and chilli oil is highly recommended. Friendly and fast service. A perfect addition to Belgischer Viertel and Ehrenfeld.

We came close to closing time and the owner (i suppose), still served us. We had the fried squid, some ramen and drinks. Price is fair for the quantity of food. The fried squids were reaply good, the ramen is ok. The interior of the restaurant is very nice.

CAUTION!!! As many others have already written in their reviews: This restaurant offers "gifts" (as far as I can see, a mini cardboard notebook) when you leave a review. This, of course, leads to many 5-star reviews with little to no content and any information. We ordered two ramen: one vegan and one chicken. The miso broth in both was tasty, but both the toppings and the noodles themselves weren't particularly good. For such a hefty price, you'd expect high-quality noodles. Instead, they tasted like instant noodles. The topping was also strange. There's really very little topping (it looks like a lot in the picture, since I also ordered karaage), and it's not a good taste. The "crispy" chicken was very oily and greasy. I couldn't stand it later. Karaage was the same. More oil than meat. The meat is also not high-quality. The vegan version had strange topping combinations, and there was very little overall. Overall, it's not comparable to Takumi in Düsseldorf. What you get here is something you can easily cook yourself in your own kitchen.
